First of all I want to congratulate Jaclyn & Alex Fuhr on winning the "Show Me Your Walls" contest , where I asked all my dear clients to show me how they display their portraits on their walls. They took photos of their walls and submitted them on my fan page where their friends and anyone else could vote on their favorite wall displays. They are winning a beautiful 20x30 3/4" Gallery Wrap Canvas Print of one of their favorite Smiley images !!!

p.s. the above image is their little son and don't you think they should choose that photo for her canvas ?

In this post I am featuring templates that can be used by photographers to show clients how to display their images with their actual images. ( See last portion of this post)

Now onto some tips on choosing print and canvas sizes for your wall.....

It can be a daunting task trying to figure out what sizes of print for framing or canvas to hang on your walls. And many people mistakenly order small prints ( under 11x14) thinking they will display nicely on a wall.

Here is an 11x14 , and notice how small it is for viewing.

First of all , you need to decide where you wish to display your images. Once you find a wall space you wish to use, have a friend hold a tape measure up to the wall and you stand back to where one would sit or stand to view the image . Have your friend open up the tape measure against the wall until you are happy with the size and have them write down the measurement. Then have them measure across lengthwise and do the same thing.

This would be the approximate size you would need to order.

You may also use this rough guide :

40x60 - large mantle
30x40 - sofa
24x30 - love seat
16x20 - master bedroom/library
11x14 - hall
8x10 - small frames, thin wall strips, in a grouping
5x7 - small frames, small grouping
4x6 - slip in photo albums, small frames

Lots of gorgeous windows, and we even have access to a brand new bedroom and huge bathroom with a large sexy shower and tub in it. I have included some photos she took and will hopefully get some more up so you can get a feel of the space.

The session including the hair and makeup is 350.00

This is a fun and exciting fantasy shoot and will require outfits or props that fit your look. these items can be aquired at a number of places around Whyte Ave, Rowena is a great store , Spencers gifts, second hand stores are great for outfits and props, and any costume store such as Michaels amusements and others.

Hair extensions are good to bring if you want big hair.

Other than that just use your imagination and make it as memorable and fun as you can !!

Snow Marathon Sneak Peeks !

During the "It's Snow Fun" Family Marathon, we had so much fun playing in the snow !!

It was the perfect day with semi mild temperatures and softly falling snow !

What more could you ask for !?

Check out the sequence in the last 3 photos of this first storyboard !! Poor little guy was sooo excited to throw a snowball and ended up doing a face plant right in the snow! Check out the snowball in mid throw and mom ducking !!

This little guy had a blast in his uber cool green snowsuit building a snowman and being pulled around in his sled . He even got to make snow angels with mom !

This sweet little girl also really enjoyed dressing the snowman and enjoying the snowflakes with mom and dad !!

What times are available ?

The sessions are from 9 am - 4 pm on both days. ( when booking a time slot keep in mind that the time you book is the start time for hair and makeup, shoot time is an hour following )

What does the session include ?

Your boudoir experience will include :

~ 1 hour time & talent of photographer during the session

~ professional makeup application by Rivera Make-up Artistry

~ professional hair styling by Lana of Twisted Banana

~ 20 fully enhanced images on a proof disc

~ 20 fully enhanced images printed in a bound coffee table book or 12 images in a 12 month calendar

~ private online gallery to view your images

*******LIMITED TIME BONUS ******* If you book and pay deposit before September 25th, you will receive a 4x6 set of your 20 images !!!!

How much does this cost ?

The session fee is 350.00 + gst and it includes all the above.

FAQ's :

- What do I bring ?

I suggest bringing 2-3 outfits which can include any kind of lingerie you feel comfortable in. High heels to match are a great idea because they are super sexy . Stockings .Jewellry is important, especially if they sparkle . Any sexy props you wish to include. I have a full array of props but you are welcome to bring your own to make it more personal. Netting over your eyes is very dramatic and sexy...... Anything goes.

I also suggest practicing your facial look in a mirror as it will help youfind which facial expressions you love or hate.

We will also have wine for those who need a little extra something ;)

This will be an experience to remember and cherish for years to come, whether for yourself or as a gift for someone special.

Camping and a wedding, what a great combination!!

Friday night came and off I went with the family to Lily Lake Resort by Legal for a weekend of camping on location and a beautiful country wedding :)

Crystal is the niece of a good friend of mine Stacie and I was very honored that she chose me for her wedding photographer :)

After a fun night of camping at the resort , we started off by capturing Crystal getting ready for her special day and of course she had her aunt Stacie do the hair for her and her ladies .

This was one of my favorite candid shots of her when she was getting makeup applied.

The ceremony was held on the deck at the resort overlooking the water, and I love this shot of Crystal kissing her dad as he gave her away.

After the ceremony we took off for some fun formals around the property, and lo and behold in true Alberta fashion , it was hot and sunny one minute and pouring rain the next. Good thing I brought some umbrellas that were left at my house and they made for some fun pictures and really saved the day!

And the rain really brought out the colors in the grass and trees . Sadly we couldn't do some of the shots we planned because the grass was soooo soaked !

But these were pretty awesome so I am happy!!

Congratulations Crystal and Luc and I hope you love your teasers and have a great honeymoon!

Oh my goodness! I had no idea I forgot to blog this wonderful couple!! I posted their pictures to my fanpage and didn't do the blog ..... so here goes .

What can I say? This couple is absolutely perfect in every way!! They love large, laugh hard and are just simply amazing!

I had such an incredible day with them and my cheeks were hurting at the end of the night from smiling so much with them and their great guests and family.

Let's celebrate spring with our families by joining in our spring portrait marathon!!!!

This 2 day family marathon will start on Saturday April 24th and Sunday April 25th, and will be casual metro downtown portraits !!

Sound like fun ???? I think so too !!!

What to expect :

The outdoor sessions will be the downtown metro setting. So brick walls, grafitti walls, funky alleyways and neat parking garages are just a few of the many options in the area where we will be shooting. They are meant to be relaxed and more photojournalistic, rather than posed.

What you will receive:

- 1 hour shoot time
- 20 images edited and enhanced on a proof cd
- online gallery for sharing/ viewing and a la carte print ordering
- 6x8 soft flip coffee table book of your images
