“Personally I’m not looking at a ‘next album’ for me. I focus more on music behind the scenes (my song writing with an emphasis on television & film). As a ‘next album’ for the ‘Beach Boys still standing’ I’d like to see a 40 song CD/DVD live concert performance with Al, Mike, Brian, David & me (lot’s of extremely well known Beach Boys anthems along with the great yet rarely performed album ‘fragile songs’). I’d also include a bonus CD of one solo track studio recording from each of us. It would kind of be a controlled ‘reunion’ of sorts without running the financial risk and expense of a full blown tour. The economics of a ‘When Surf Freezes Over’ concert tour are very difficult. The CD/DVD producer? Definitely David Foster (he’s my first ten choices). Brian or any of us? Not really because I’d like us to function as the ‘artist’ and just concentrate on the music.”

Heroes is released by Parlophone on February 16, with all profits going to the War Child charity, which protects marginalised children in war zones. For the album, a number of artists have chosen a favourite song from their own songwriting canon and nominated an artist from the next generation to create a modern reworking of the classic. Come early 2009, the new Grammy Museum in downtown Los Angeles will play host to a series of public events, the centerpiece of which will be a chat and performance by Brian Wilson on Jan. 15.

An Evening With Brian Wilson (Jan. 15, 8 p.m.) Santelli will interview the legendary artist, who will give the first public concert in the museum’s 200-seat theater. The session promises a Q&A with audience members as well. Admission is $20 for non-members, and on-sale information has not yet been released.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (Top40 Charts/ Capitol/ EMI) - Capitol/EMI will release a new Brian Wilson DVD entitled That Lucky Old Sun on January 27, 2009. A companion to Wilson’s critically-acclaimed That Lucky Old Sun album, released September 2 on CD, vinyl and digitally, the DVD features more than two and a half hours of content, including a full-length live performance of the album, a new feature-length documentary and additional behind-the-scenes footage from the album’s recording sessions, and some of Wilson’s recently filmed promotional performances and interviews.

The new That Lucky Old Sun DVD features a full-length performance of Wilson’s latest album, filmed live at Capitol Studios on May 19, 2008 in 5.1 Surround and 2.0 Stereo audio, as well as a new feature-length film, Going Home, directed and edited by George Dougherty, which documents the making of the album and Wilson’s return to his original record label, Capitol Records.

The DVD’s bonus features include track-by-track audio commentary by Wilson and his That Lucky Old Sun songwriting partner and band member, Scott Bennett, for the live Capitol Studios performance, behind-the-scenes footage from the album’s recording sessions, and recent promotional interviews and performances by Wilson for Yahoo! Music, MySpace and “Black Cab Sessions.”

The GRAMMY Museum, opening December 6 in Los Angeles, will debut its “An Evening With” signature public program with Brian Wilson on January 15. Wilson will be interviewed onstage by the Museum’s Executive Director, Robert Santelli, before performing a few songs for an intimate audience of 200 people.
