This short video shows the how to burn Arabic calligraphy on wood.

The script is from Holy Quran ( the latest holy book from God)

it reads as "When My servants ask thee concerning Me, I am indeed close (to them)"

Arabic script is among the most dynamic scripts and can be used to create very unique pieces

Wood used is particle board which is very sensitive to burning
In this video, I chose a pattern of flowers

The shading was made on the borders of the flowers and to the inwards

The wood used was a plaque of Syrian Birch wood

The burner used was a wire tip burner

How to burn a pattern of a flower on wood

This is a video to show you how to copy a pattern to wood for Pyrography.
I used the carbon papers to transfer the image
Fixing the pattern with the carbon paper on wood for copying is crucial for a successful copying
In this 1 minute video, you will watch how to add color to your Pyrography projects.
I used the Acrylic colors without adding water.
Acrylic colors add density to colors.
I used here a combination of Red and Green color.
These combination gives me the contrast I need.
the subject of this piece was a quotation from the " Holy Quran "
The words translation is: [ Direct your self toward Allah (God) ]
it can be applied simply by burning parallel line adjacent to each other to create the shading effect that you are looking for.
this is very practical when using solid tip burner which is difficult to control than the wire tip burner

Pyrography lessons ( using the Wood burner )

In this video series, I started a project on wooden plaque using the art of Wood burning / Pyrography.
The subject of this project is a flower.
The flowers were always and will be always the icon of arts
I didn't imagine the end product will be of this beauty!
I made this project over many weeks since I work on wood burning only 3 hours every week.
I enjoyed it a lot.
Enjoy!

How to start a Pyrography project of an Islamic pattern

In this two minutes video, I used the geometry and the Islamic art design to create the famous islamic Eight-pointed star on wood.

Islamic decoration makes great use of geometric patterns which have developed over the centuries. Many of these derived from various earlier cultures: Greek, Roman, Byzantine,Central Asian, and Persian.

The shading in this piece was linear which is a very easy technique of shading.

The design is easy once you got the idea.

The lines can be burned easily by the help of a metal ruler.

inspired by this great building and its history, I tried to keep its memory through wood burning/pyrography art
I was in a trip to Istanbul in January and i was astonished by this monument
a turkish icon that can take your mind
i used color pencils to add life to the image
laying beside the bosphorus and surrounded by old architecture
looking at this mosque can take you back in time to the age of ottoman empire
This 36 seconds shows the steps of burning a Dragon to wood
Dragons were always so mysterious as a topic for different arts
The shading gives life to the pattern
Since the wood burning art uses only one color, shading plays an important role to make the piece more vivid.

I was touched by the success of Obama 4 years before as the first African American to reach the White House.
Few months before he was able to repeat his triumph.
His tweet " Another four years sky rocketed in twitter.
I have no interest in politics, I am not an American after all.
Yet i was inspired by the story of the man.
In this project I used the Pyrography / wood burning to burn the Obama's face on the wood!!
Funny as it sounds but i enjoyed it so much
I recorded the steps from the copying of the face using carbon/graphite paper through the painting of the wood till finishing the piece.
It took me two days to finish this piece.
Shading is what gives more life to any drawing
I was always looking for an easy way of shading my drawings on wood
I believe that this technique is the easiest and the fastest .
Simply by applying parallel lines close to each others
The intinesty of the shades increase by intersecting one group of parallel lines with another
I use a cheap wood burner which is in capable of shading large areas yet this techniques is very suitable for My burner and give a great finish
