Third Screen Media, a software and services company that enables advertising on mobile devices, announced that it has the ability to reach nearly 50 percent of US mobile content subscribers, according to consumer research company, Telephia. TSMINetwork was recently acquisitioned by AOL’s advertising.com, which is allowing the company to combine mobile marketing efforts with online reach. The company has doubled its number of campaigns in Q2 2007 than the same period once a year ago, and has experienced an increase in overall impressions to 275 million, up from 225 million last quarter. The progress marks overall growth in the mobile advertising market.

Nortel has dialed up some mobile marketing upgrades. The telecommunications company has launched some Web services applications that enable marketers to reach customers via their mobile
devices with messages that are targeted based on the user’s location and
individual preference. For example, these applications allow a person to
receive a mobile alert telling them that a book they have been searching for is on-sale at a
bookstore that they are walking by. The application utilizes Parlay X API
standards that also allow businesses to enhance their Web sites by adding click-to-call--connecting customers instantly to a
representative while they are viewing information on a particular page.

Mobile advertising network, Admob, San Mateo, CA, has teamed up with several Hollywood studios to launch promotions for this summer blockbusters. Admob recently helped Universal promote its romantic comedy “Knocked Up,” in June and Warner Independent Pictures, “In the Land of Women,” earlier this spring. Admob is currently working with Paramount Pictures to promote “Transformers.” In each instance, the studio is running a banner and simple text ads that appear on mobile Web pages. When users click on the ads, they are delivered to mobile web pages to locate theaters where the respective movie is playing as well as show times. Admob also matches advertisers with content providers and allows them to target users by country, language, phone brand, phone model, user content and OS. The company recently launched a landing page tool as well, to help advertisers with a mobile web presence to get started.
