Well, since June is just around the corner father's day is too. If you’re a type of person that hates the last minute shopping like myself. Healthy Tid-bits: The Key to Preventing Moldy Berries

Berries are delicious, but they're also kind of delicate. Raspberries in particular seem like they can mold before you even get them home from the market. There's nothing more tragic than paying big money for a pint of local raspberries, only to look in the fridge the next day and find that fuzzy mold growing on their insides. How to keep them fresh? Well, here's a tip that my boss shared to me and I'm sharing it to you now on how to prevent berries from getting moldy.

Wash them with vinegar! When you get your berries home, prepare a mixture of one part vinegar (white or apple cider probably work best) and ten parts water. Dump the berries into the mixture and swirl around. Drain, rinse if you want (though the mixture is so diluted you can't taste the vinegar), and pop in the fridge. The vinegar kills any molds spores and other bacteria that might be on the surface of the fruit, and viola! Raspberries will last a week or more, and strawberries go almost two weeks without getting moldy and soft. So, go forth and stock up those pricey little gems, knowing they'll stay fresh as long as it takes you to eat them. Well, I guess I'm gonna try it for Cherries probably it would work too. ;)

Road Trip to Rhode Island and Connecticut

I have a real blast of this first trip with my Dad-in-law. We passed by like 6 dead various animals but I'm glad that we reached and left the place safe. :)

We passed by this strange mushroom shape water tank at Rhode Island State. It's amazing in person so I couldn't help myself not to take a snapshot. Sorry, it wasn't so good because I just use my phone plus Dad's driving fast.

After driving for hours and passing a wide conservation trees finally we're at Connecticut State and saw part of Foxwoods Resort Casino

We've lost at first and we end up to MGM Grand casino which is only one part of Foxwoods Resort Casino and it's only 2 years on operation according to the employee that I chat with. I didn't waste time not to take a snapshots of it while we still there waiting for the shuttle bus that's gonna bring us to the main casino.

This is just one of the thousands slot machines

and the many American Indian statues inside the Casino.

I won not much but as a first timer I did good! Dad said, lol

and I do too. Being married to an Italian man for almost 4 years this coming June, I observed that cheese is an important part of Italians gastronomic culture. Believe me I am amazed of the different kinds of cheese that my hubby introduces me for just a short period of time being with him. Honestly back in my country I only knew a few kinds of cheese like low fat cheese , and ultra thin cheese. I really don't have an idea that on every kind of meal there's a certain cheese that you have to use until my hubby explained to me last weekend when we had pasta and I can’t find Parmesan cheese. I try to convinced him that I just gonna use the American cheese (yellow cheese) the one we use when we make grilled cheese, but he said no no no you can’t it’s not for pasta dishes, lol. Hummm, how do I know I’m not born Italian! But guess what! I still use the American cheese that I found I shredded it and put it on the top of my daughter’s and I pasta yummy! Well, I know it’s not the right kind of cheese for that dish to use but for me it’s not really the same eating pasta without cheese.

I knew it! I need a lot of time to learn more about Italian dishes and the different kinds of cheese. I know cheese is good for our health and a calcium rich but not all are healthy cheese. So, when buying one always remember to first check the nutritional fact labels because some are high in saturated fat and very salty.The stuffs that we need to avoid especially if you're suffering from high cholesterol and high blood pressure.

Tosh.0 is one of those shows that your boyfriend is probably obsessed with and you watch it only because he loves it so much but secretly you like it just a little bit because Daniel Tosh is so cute. Not only is Tosh cute but hello, he is so funny too! Well, if he isn’t funny at least he has funny writers that make him look good! If you haven’t seen the show it is basically Daniel in front of a green screen where they show random video clips from around the web. Daniel makes comments on the videos as they roll and usually they will enhance the already funny video. One that they really made famous was David After Dentist found on youtube.com. It is a video that a dad took of his little kid after getting laughing gas at the dentist. Poor David is so disoriented that he doesn’t even know what is real anymore. A friend of mine recently posted on facebook about how she got her monthly utility bills reduced by $80 a month. First, she called her phone company and stated that she is thinking about leaving and just having a cell phone only to save money, and they worked out a deal that saves $25 a month. Then she called her cable company, and talked to them all about their different cable packages and found one more suited for her family that was $10 less a month. She called her water company, and figured out that for a family of 5 she should be allotted more water than a family of 4 would be (which is what they were billing her for). That should save her some money too. I was so impressed by this. It is annoying to talk on the phone to utility companies, but all that waiting and button pushing would be so worth it if it could save our family $80 a month! I’m going to gather all our utility companies’ phone numbers and get on this.

The Power of Ginger Root Tea

I really amazed how ginger root tea helps cure my sorethroat and getting back my voice fast. Here's the photo procedures of gingertea or well known as "Salabat" in my country :-) You'll gonna need:


a. ) a whole ginger like this size or it depends on how much you're gonna make

b.) wash and peel ginger root as shown


c.) put the peeled and sliced ginger root in a pan with 2 to 3 cups of water and bring to boil until done

d. ) it's done when water turning into a yellowish color like shown in my photo


e.) add a teaspoon or so of brown sugar or honey. I prefer honey on mine :-)

f.) and there you go enjoy it with your food at breakfast, lunch, break time and dinner. You can also drink it as many times a day as you wish

FYI: Ginger tea is usually used to preventcolds, aid digestion and motion sickness, and also as a home remedy for nauseaand sore throats. Take note that the flavor is a bit spicy but stimulating!

Since I stopped working and became a stay at home mom, I have become a bargain hunter. I figure that since I have more time on my hands, I should do all I can to save my family money. We aren’t struggling financially but I figure that any savings helps us achieve our long-term financial goals. I’d like to have a nest egg set aside for a rainy day. I clip coupons for our groceries, and every week I am shocked at how much I save. I also search the internet for the best deals around. I usually am able to find clothes and shoes for the kids and I at discounted prices, so I started to think about all of the other things our family could save on. My husband is shocked at how much I have reduced our spending in the last few months. I hope that means he’s thinking about finally getting me those diamond earrings I’ve been waiting on!
