Fantasy Celebrity Fashion League

I just wanted to post a little reminder about our Fantasy Celebrity Fashion League. Week #1 is already under way...if you are playing, great! I can't wait to see how the week finishes up and how the ranking ends up. If you weren't able to get in your picks for week #1 have no worries! You can join in for week #2. This game lasts for three weeks...and the scores change so fast, it really is anybody's game!

Taylor No Longer With Zoe

Rachel Zoe's assistant, Taylor Jacobson, is no longer. After working with Zoe for four years it looks as though Taylor is going to focus on independent styling now.

Do any of you watch The Rachel Zoe Project on Bravo? If so, do you think the show will be the same without Taylor? So far it hasn't been picked up for a third season yet...but we'll all keep our fingers crossed.

Lady Gaga Loves Hello Kitty

I just came across a photo spread of Lady Gaga by Markus Klinko and Indrani. The shoot was done in celebration of Hello Kitty's 35th anniversay. No matter what you think of Lady Gaga you have to admit that her style (love it or not) really captivates the viewer.

I think that her painted eyes are really creepy, yet totally fabulous at the same time. What do you think of this shoot?

Currently I am trying to grow my hair out long so I have been doing anything and everything to keep it healthy. One serious problem with my hair is that it is so dry. To fix this issue I recently went out looking for a new leave-in conditioner and walked out of CVS with Hair Insurance by Aussie. I absolutely LOVE this product. It instantly made my hair light and silky...and the pineapple/coconut aroma leaves my hair smelling amazing.

Do you use a leave-in conditioner? Which brands do you love? Which brands do you hate?

What Was She Thinking???

Kim Kardashian showed up to Kitson's Rich Soil launch in L.A. wearing this pink, one-sleeved, animal print dress. All I have to say is YIKES! There is just too much going on here. This dress is so skin tight...it looks like it is painted on her. And animal print in a unnatural hue is a little too much for me to handle. Don't get me wrong, normally I love Kim's style (and for some reason I am obsessed with her family and their reality TV show...I have no idea why)...but this look is just not cute.

What do you think of this look? Am I being too hard on Kim? Would you wear it?

I am super excited about the Snapshot Fashion game that has been put together for our readers. I know some of you are also very excited from all the positive feedback I have been receiving about the game. Starting this week Snapshot Fashion will be taking entries in our very own fantasy celebrity fashion league...basically it's gonna be similar to a fantasy football league but with celebrities and fashion!

For those of you that have yet to hear about the game here are the rules on how to play---

Each week you will pick 3 celebrities. You will have to email them to me by every Friday at 8pm eastern time. These 3 celebrities will be used to gather your points the following week. This game will run for 3 weeks. Each week you will be able to pick 3 different celebrities. At then end of the three weeks the top THREE scores will win an authentic Snapshot Fashion tote bag.

You will gain/lose points depending if your celebrity picks are shown on the following sites:

1) from Monday through Friday on In Style if any of your celebrity picks are highlighted in The Look of the Day section as the website's pick (the large image) you will earn 25 points. If your picks are any of the other four celebs that are nominated for look of the day (smaller images) you will earn 15 points.

2) if any of your picks end up on Vogue's 10 best dressed of the week list you will earn 30 points.

3) from Monday through Friday if any of your celebrity picks end up on Go Fug Yourself the following will happen. If they are pinned with their look being "FUG" you will lose 10 points. If they get a "Well Played" you will earn 50 points. Lastly, if they take part in a "Fug or Fab" post no points will be added or subtracted.

Updated score rankings will be posted periodically. Snapshot Fashion will take full responsibility of keeping track of the scores.

So please email your three celebrity picks to us! Remember you have until Friday at 8pm eastern time to get them in. Please spread the word of our Fantasy Celebrity Fashion League. The more people that play, the more fun it will be. And anyone can play this game...I'm opening it up to ALL of my readers!

Camilla Belle looked absolutely stunning at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund event at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles. She wore an amazing blue Jason Wu dress to the event.

What I love about this look is that she took a simple dress and made it her own by adding some fun accessories. Great jewelry, an amazing bag, and a bold belt really help make this dress go to the next level.

Interview with Sheila Frank

I caught up with designer Sheila Frank recently to hear all about her new spring 2010 collection and her recent fashion show. You might remember Sheila from a past interview we did with her.

Snapshot Fashion: You recently debuted your spring 2010 collection in a show in NYC alongside Kenley Collins, Marissa Erskine, and Elizabeth Rynish. Tell us about this experience.
Sheila Frank: It was nice to come together for a cause. Elizabeth Rynish started this organization called Seam Collective. They are all about female emerging designers. It was nice to have that girl power. Haha. But the main cause was for Gilda's Club, proceeds went to their organization. Also each designer donated a garment for the silent auction. All in all great experience to be around positive energy.

Snapshot Fashion: When you started to design your spring 2010 collection what vision did you have in mind?
Sheila Frank: I was looking at my mother's porcelain doll collection. I then started to think of the Elizabethan Era and my mind started to wander around the idea of Elizabethan nightgowns. I wanted to design ready to wear, so I thought of how I could interpret nightgowns into ready to wear.

Snapshot Fashion: You used a lot of navy and gray in your designs this time around...any reasoning for your color choices?

Sheila Frank: Yes! When I began designing, I was sitting at my desk and looked out the window. The sky was a blue gray, like it was about to storm. I just felt the color palette. It just felt right.
Snapshot Fashion: Describe your spring 2010 collection in three words.
Sheila Frank: Feminine, edgy, easy.

Snapshot Fashion: Do you have a favorite piece from this collection?
Sheila Frank: I have a few! The Ivey Romper, Otilia Jacket, and Alex Dress ( I named the looks after my models).

Snapshot Fashion: What do you feel is the must have trend that everybody needs in their closet for this winter? What about this spring?
Sheila Frank: Winter I would say faux leather anything! It's a sophisticated touch with a little edge. Layer a motorcycle jacket over a sweater that is belted over a sheer top, a pair of skinnies, super high sexy heels, and you are good to go. I believe in layers for all seasons. For spring a breezy dress. I love when the temperature begins to turn, you still need to wear a jacket, so I belt a sweater over a simple dress. It's just easy and put together. When the spring weather gets warmer, I go for a jersey dress!

Snapshot Fashion: Do you have any tips for young designers out there?

Sheila Frank: From the get go, make sure to work with a professional photographer. You need to present your work in a professional way. Start a MySpace page, that's what I did when I first started. I added tons of people to network. Make smart choices. Starting a label is a lot easier then you think, I promise.

Snapshot Fashion: What's next for Sheila Frank???

Sheila Frank: I'm still participating in benefits. That is my heart and soul. I feel drawn to helping others. I'm donating a dress to the Ronald McDonald House benefit on Nov 19th in NYC. I'm also working on my fall 2010 collection which will show in February during Fashion Week. Not at the tents, but close to it (I'll keep you posted). And also a summer swim collection which will be in production! I can't wait. Hopefully available nationwide.
