The idea of starting Special Need Education Home (SNEH) in Nagda came into the mind of its founder & President Er. Pankaj Maru who himself is blessed with a sweet & special ADHD girl SONU. After returning from Dubai to India he decided to establish it and on 10th July 2009 SNEH was started with 8 special need children & two special educators in a rented building at Nagda with the support of Lions Club Nagda Greater, his home club.
The main objective is to provide treatment, education & vocational training to Special Need Children and make them self sustainable.The SNEH is being run by Nagda Zenith Social Welfare Society which is a registered NGO and affiliated with the Social Justice Department of Govt of MP. It is also registered under PwD Act & a registered organization with the National Trust. SNEH is also appointed as State Nodal Agenecy Center (SNAC) for MP by National Trust, Ministry of Social Justice & Welfare , Govt. of India, New Delhi. Founder of SNEH Pankaj Maru is appointed as Member Secretary of State Level Cordinationa Commitee (SLCC) , Govt. of MP for implementing the various scheme for the welfare of special need people in the state. SNEH is working as Nodal Agency for Niramaya Health Insurance for Ujjain, Ratlam, Jhabua, Khandwa, Khargone & Burhanpur District. It is LLC member of Ratlam, Jhabua & Rajgarh District.
The most challenging issue in a small town like Nagda was to convince parents not to hide their mentally challenged wards from society and send them to the SNEH. Continuous counseling and programs were organized and to some extent we were able to convince the people in last 3 years. Presently SNEH is working very closely with the National Trust, district nodal agency for NIramaya health insurance scheme, and also member of management committee of DDRC.
Fully dedicated team of Management and staff, whole hearted support of the local citizen, media, government officials and various other relevant agencies make the SNEH famous at National & International level. SNEH have been declared Best Activity of the Lions Multiple 323 to work for Special Need people continuously for 2 years. The Zone, Region & District level award has also been given to the SNEH. Its Center Head Dr Naina Christian & Special Educator Mrs Priyanka Shivastawa has also received many rewards & recognition from the various institutes for their selfless services.
Our Objective is to spread the message across the globe that consideration is more important then concessions for Special Need People so that they can be integrated with the society.
