Daily budget of your startup business life?

2019-05-27T13:45:00.001-04:00

I had no idea that I'd be writing about Daily Budgets on things I learned 30 years ago! At times I'm shocked to see, hear about or even at times see myself over spending.. ahh, duh I'm not the only one guilty of doing this I'm sure. So, today, let's do a little comparison, thoughts and suggested ideas to help a startup break the mold and succeed.

Just an FYI, at the moment I'm sitting here writing this blog post my phone rings in silence with 5 missed calls from a number I've never seen before. Quick search on the web and it's a marketing company trying to sell me services. This of course is one of the worst ways to gain a new client, but in reality it works just not the "best business" practice is being followed. Email, Phone, SMS or even Snail Mail is SPAM and nobody likes it. Is this really the impression you want to give your .. clients?

For me, I refuse to feed the internet machine endless flow of cash, credit, debit etc.. whatever it is, it's going to be deducted from my bank account and at times of course.. Surprise! There's been a misunderstanding. not reading the "terms of service" or a update of change of services notice and now the invoice is much higher. Or even worse actually, the invoice did not come, the payment remains as the provider you've been using for months .. closed the doors.

I say everything from personal experience, I'm currently 54 and have the heart and soul of a 19 year old man who's just starting his own company. Well, I use that age to be correct as myself, I started my own business at 7 years old. Newspaper route, long days little money. Saved up most to buy a lawnmower and yes it was better than my own dads! I started going door to door in the neighborhood offering to cut the front, back or both yards for a discount. OMG, I was so stupid as I did not ask anyone what to charge etc..

Let's just say I worked my body to the core so daily workouts not needed. It did not take me long to understand I needed to change locations.. asking the families in your area that watched you grow up.. nah, not best route - lol. As in, was that me that egg'd your house? No. no way - LOL

So what's all this got to do with Daily Budgets?

Easy, it's not how much you make, how much you spend or even if you make no sale at all. It's all about what are you doing with your time right this moment? Reading my post? Ok, good but let's make it worth while eh?

Take a look at https://snerdey.com and let me know via the HelpDesk on the website if you'd like to begin a Startup Website Project with my services? I've been in business since 2004 and over 3,500 website projects. Host many, update just about all and can help you save time and money today! Well, at least within 1 business day.

Have a Great Memorial Day!

Pen or Pencil?

2019-05-26T06:44:00.001-04:00

An amazing birthday gift was given to me by one I call brother from another mother. For those of us who normally do not receive gifts from the top shelf. Let's just say it's nice to also be great friends. From the moment I got the email notice from an online shopping site I waited with great anticipation to use my new pen. The store also included the order details and price for a gift notice - oops! :)

The email contained photos and all kinds of details. It was shinny and brilliant like for some bank president's pen you know? The one they carry in their white shirt pocket, tucked under the jacket but just enough for us to see it but you dare not ask to borrow it cause it shines like gold. If I think back to my youth and those long nights playing with my cars and trucks while mom worked late with her best friend sorting checking accounts. At times I'd go to the bank during the day for lunch that was the most fun!

Back then everyone was so nice and helpful, in my case playful and fun. It was like my big playground. Even the President of the Bank would allow me into the big office. His golden pen was always in his shirt pocket and it was only for customers. But on his desk I had my selection of pens to choose from. I found one that was just wonderful to draw with. The designs I drew were on his walls along with his own kids artwork gallery. He had all girls so go figure.

When the pen arrived it was hand delivered by my friend a few weeks after the day. There was a slight delay as it was shipped, misplaced for a moment and then wow it was like my birthday all over again. Little party in my soul and it was only for a moment as I was working at the time. Before he left my office I quickly opened it and gave it a try. But right away something was wrong and we both thought it would need to be returned.

I went to use it with the slight twist and started to draw but something was not working. A pen should right when you twist it and you see the tip ready to go you know? Upon closer examination it turned out to be a golden pencil. Wow!! It's great and I would have never got something like this for myself but as a gift from a brother it's priceless to me.

Lucky for me it was happy ending. But, think about the people who manage those online store websites and all those refunds etc they have to deal with. They cut cost in all areas they can and mistakes are made when building a website manually. I have a recommendation for anyone seeking to build an online store.

First - grab any 2 cent pencil and visit this free website software website called Prestashop and give their demo a test drive as it's the easiest online store I've ever had the pleasure of using. I was lucky enough to meet the founder personally and you just can't go wrong when it comes to choosing a great engine / software for your website.

Any questions they have a great forum and if you're in need a free domain name bundle with discounted hosting you can view our prices here.

Feel free to leave a comment about your experience with online stores or even your favorite pen or pencil you like to carry with you wherever you go. For me, it's my iPhone and I use notes application as I'm always on the go.

Be health :)

A Spec Of Sand

2016-04-09T03:19:00.000-04:00

Beautiful Sand Castle on the Beach

A Spec Of Sand

Let's take a stroll along the beach and while we're at it learn about how a domain name is nothing more than a spec of sand when it comes to the moment you purchase the domain till the death of the domain. It will always be one domain name and to explain it more plainly let's call it... a spec of sand. Pretend for a moment you can reach down and grab some sand. Now, take one spec of sand or one piece of sand and look at it. Now, remember it.. drop it back into the pile of sand or entire beach coast line even a playground. Go find that same spec of sand.

Skip forward to the point that your domain name is hosted on an affordable hosting service that is most likely a shared hosting account. You've installed Wordpress and selected a great theme for the design like the sand castle above. It's pretty to many, complex to others and what's the point to some as eventually this castle will fade back into the sandy beach.

Now that our sand castle or website is completed we certainly want to get visitors to come see it and take photos or in this case put us in their favorite places within the browser cause most only take a few seconds to visit a new website only to quickly decide if they are interested and if so will come back later. Myself, I have 30 tabs open on my browser rather than favorite them all I keep the ones I need. Point is, not everyone is the same.

Getting traffic and the right kind of traffic to visit us is only one part but are you ready for visitors? What is your castle made of? How many visitors can it hold at once? Is it secure and safe for everyone who enters? This list of questions can go on forever as their are so many factors to consider when it comes to... is my website ready?

Building Foundation Strong and Secure

For most of us the domain, hosting, theme and spending one day or several weeks on making the website look and function the way we want it too. It's important to keep up with trends, current versions and updated website software such as Wordpress requires updating and in many cases updates can and in fact break the theme or the complete website. Not to mention hackers love to play hide and seek with many website owners as they enter the backdoor of websites and add hidden pages, dirty links and in most cases send out spam.

Service Entry - Back Door - Easily Opened - By Most Anyone

A Wordpress website has a login and admin control panel. It also normally contains plugins that allow the website to function in a special way like sliders, classifieds, photo galleries and of course ecommerce shopping carts. Oh, a hackers paradise once they gain access to a successful online store causing troubles foe everyone. So it's vital to keep the website protected 24/7 even while in production or coming soon stages.

Simple Tools Create Amazing Results

We're all masters of our own websites, even if you do not personally do the work. Someone is making a website for you or helping you. In my experience over the past 15 years or so is that some clients think a website is no more than a word doc, pdf or some fancy printable page. Not once really give any thought about all the work or the software making it all possible.

Stone Master Gently Tapping On Cobblestone

Take a look at the photo above, the stones are sitting on sand that has been compacted, prepared for the stones. The hammers are wood and rubber allowing the stone master to tap or pound on the stones to make them level and semi perfect patterns. Not all are same shapes and sizes and for us, this like like the top of the website or the header area. Then the content, images, wording as well as the menu and of course the footer area of the website. It all has to be built and correctly, even if your just editing the theme you must be careful of typos, image optimizations as well as content that is SEO driven.

Success Is Not Instant

If you think about this, notice the walkway is starting to take shape. There's a road being built and there's lots of stones to put in place. Now, with a Wordpress website all the road is complete, once you have the website software installed it normally includes the basic and free themes to select from. But, for most of us it's not enough as we seek to be unique as possible. Notice the stones on top of the road, they represent the pages a client wants to add to the website. Home, About, Photo Gallery, Contact and normally a Services page.

Cobblestone Roads Are In Need Of Constant Repair

Like the road breaks, so does a website and oddly enough some of the worst breaks happen day one in the setup of the premalinks or menu structure of the website. So many times we see that a client has created a site, menu with 20 page and on each page has links to all the pages creating a negative SEO result for incorrect linking internally, not even talking about the links to other sites. These links are actually ether broken and do not work or looping causing a bot to ignore the content you have worked so hard on but you can see the site, the page but if it's not linked correctly.. you the only one that sees it.

Incomplete or Personal Choice

As humans we all drive different cars, taxis, buses, trains and even inside our homes we're different all created around the same idea of 4 walls, ceiling, floor and some windows etc.. like a website you want to make sure you also have all things in order. In so many cases clients say .. I love pink, black and purple and I also want the images to be perfectly clear without any distortion. Also like minimal with lots of white space. Look at this photo and think about it... do you like it? Is it interesting? Does it make you want to tell a friend? One needs to be careful with white space as it can cause the.. what is the point reaction.

Dark Holes Should Be Avoided

Creating a unique website can sometimes go overboard and actually loose visitors. Really have to be careful when it comes to advertising and paying money for people to see your website online such as banner ads, links and even directly listings. Kinda like leading a horse to water, you can not make the horse drink the water. Sure, you can bring it to it's lips, even pour the water on the horse.. it's not drinking cause it wants too. So money on advertising can and in many cases totally wasted cause the website was not ready.

Pitfalls and Dangers

Visitors to your website normally have anti-virus, anti-malware and even smart phones etc.. your website can, if not protected or has broken links, missing images or typos in code cause the site not to look the same to all visitors based on the device they are using. One of course these days make the site 100% responsive. Even more important is to us a plugin like Wordfence - free and helps protect the website from would be hackers.

My Road, err Website is Ready - Looks Great!

Now that you have secured your website, locked the backdoor and even updated all the plugins, software itself you want to make sure and backup the website. Not just one time, but in different ways. Via the hosting control panel as a server backup or contact your hosting company for instructions. Plugins can help, I love to use one called BlogVault not just cause I'm an affiliate and get paid for referring people like you to use it. More cause I use it myself and for my clients websites it's very easy for me to use. Give it a test drive for free.

Everyone's Looking At You Kid!

This is the result we want in most cases to come up on the search results as first place or at least the top fold of the screen. Now that the website is protected, you've placed some ad's and see messages from visitors you're on the right track. Make sure and listen to the visitors feedback, especially if they complain something is not working - investigate it and fix it.

Unique and Narrow Path

Maybe your website is one product, one thing like the next best piece of bubble gum. You really want to modify your approach, selective on how you promote and even what medium you want to reach your audience with. I've seen TV commercial mention to visit the website for more information only to see that the website does not work on my android phone as the website has flash (flash is fading away) so you want to make sure you have a mobile version for visitors to see your website. These versions are normally highlights, specific and important pages of the main site. Reducing things we show visitors so it loads quick and not a lot of distractions.

Successful Paths Of Success

If you do it all correctly, take your time and learn how to build a website correctly and that actually depends on one thing.. what do you want the website to do for you? Best of luck to your projects and please feel free to reach out to me for consultations, recommendations as well as free quotes to help you get your website where you want it.

Websites, it's a Love Hate Thing.

2014-12-17T05:43:00.002-05:00

When it comes to websites there are many things that come to mind for most people. Either you love them or hate them and websites go to great extremes to get your vote of - Like but what happened to Love and Hate are they not what we humans decide on a daily basis?

Learning Curves
Either you love them or hate them, I don't really recall someone saying I love the learning curve of getting my website designed the way I want it done. I do however recall hearing others including myself how much I hate hard coding a website back in the beginning cause it was so boring!

Domains and Hosting
Oh, here's a real eye twitching combination as if you forget to renew your domain name you hate that someone took it from you using some bot program and now want to sell it to you or the highest bidder! In regards to hosting, it seems many are always trying to find the best service and price and not so many are loyal to their supplier as everyone loves a good deal.

Website Templates
They look so easy on the demo and even the video showing you how to edit the design with ease. But, just like driving a car it looks so easy until you get behind the wheel and for everyone's sake I hope someone is sitting next to you holding the wheel and teaching you when you go, go, go cause it not chances are you'll stop, stop, stop. So just because someone says it's easy, it's best to have a helping hand when it comes to web design as there are more rules to follow other than color codes and easy checkout.

Drag and Drop or HTML
How about both as there is an actual "plugin" if you will that I totally love, yes click that like button and let's get going on the idea of total ease of web design. Of course that's not the only thing you should be concerned with regarding the ease of website designs using drag-n-drop website templates as you also have to be careful in regards to the legal part and not to copy someone's website content, photos. Love it or Hate it the law is everywhere when it comes to web designs.

I Love It!
The one thing I love most about hosting, providing domain names and even the web designs we provide our clients is the fact that we're helping them save money and time as if you do it yourself - sure, you can get someone online quick but is it correct? Will people love it? From my past experience since the birth of the internet most will hate it and for many reasons.

Why Hate It?
You might have a beautiful design and it's perfect colors, cool logo but if your content is not enough to keep the reader or searcher loving it for more than 5 seconds they are out of here and you can forget about them clicking like and if you gave them the choice they would mostly click Hate for many reasons but mostly it's loading too slow, some things that should click do not, too much animation, huge photos not optimized for the web and don't even get me started on online stores.. those are another topic all together cause they combine websites with retail and that takes pure balance to keep them surfers returning back for more.

Like or Hate?
Interesting, you don't see any Hate buttons only +1, Like, Share and one has to wonder why is that? I think most logically is possibly your competitors going around clicking Hate all day. So if my blog post today had a Hate It or Love It which would you click? Would you share it and tell others how much you whatever it?

Happy Holidays and hope it's full of Love with a dash of hate as you know you don't like something someone cooked and it's sitting on the table with one of your in-law's looking at you to see how much you will put on your plate with pure anticipation of the first bite you take of their humble pie :)

Protect Your Wordpress Website from Hackers!

2014-12-15T05:29:00.002-05:00

If you own and operate a Wordpress website on your own servers you need to of course keep it updated as there are many updates each year as they are constantly updating core of the site to help prevent attacks as well as keeping it new and fresh as the internet websites evolve.

As a website owner or webmaster taking care of your clients websites you need to do a couple of things that will help stop hackers cold in their tracks. Plugins are a simple way but not best solution for everyone but they certainly helped me. I had one website being attacked everyday, weekly and if I did not back it up it would be a total loss as you can't rely on the hosting provider to have your backups and if they did most would be dated beyond the site current content.

Struggling with this for months I have tried many thing and a few weeks ago I added one plugin, upgraded it and walla - instant stop as when I upgraded the plugin I was able to block all countries except USA and that stopped them mean hackers cold. Then to my surprise I get an email that someone logged in as the 1st plugin called Wordfence sends you emails on all kinds of things as you select to be notified as I do.

Wordfence is really good and there's a nice cache system that speeds up the site by 30 - 50 times and that's not percentages. Best of all it's FREE but if you upgrade it adds many other features but the one I love the most is it will send you an SMS to your phone providing you with a code to enter with your password.

The other plugin I added yesterday and I added it cause I kept getting notices of the hackers trying to log-in and I thought there must be a cool little plugin that hides the wp-admin and of course I tried a few but found the Lockdown WP Admin to be simple and quick. The notices stopped as they can't find the login page now.

These two are the only plugins I use for the WP sites now except if the wordpress website theme has additional plugins such as contact form etc.. most importantly is to keep your plugins updated. Wordfence will send you a notice each time a plugin or just about anything needs updated or out of sync to help prevent hacks.

Good luck with your websites and if you've ever been stressed by a hacker.. these two plugins should bring peace of mind.

OMG - Don't Be Boring

2012-01-09T05:38:00.001-05:00

It does not take a rocket scientist to see who's bored in this photo above huh? I mean, check out the look he's getting from the back of his head. Might as well just leave the room as he's not going anywhere anytime soon. Is it really a problem that he's enjoying his new game on his electronic device? Na, but maybe spending too much time focusing on what he likes? Yeah.. let's bring that rocket scientist back into our minds for a moment.

Do you ever think that they get burned out on the idea of designing rockets to take people to the moon and space travel? No, not a chance cause they are living the dream of their childhood memories (for example you know what I mean) so what's this guy's dream in the photo? Living alone.. cause if he keeps this up that's what will happen. But, maybe that's not the case?

Could it be they are just taking turns playing different games. Maybe she likes Golf and he's into Car Racing and just passing a driver on the track and slipping into 1st place or is it' last place? If she's not into the game, notice only one controller. Chances are this is the case then total lack of interest comes to mind here. Does that mean she does not like him? Na.. just bored out her mind pretty sure anyway!

How could he make it better for her? Well, a second controller and even a two person game would be a good start. Something for everyone so it's not so one sided. Not everyone that comes to their home will want to play the game. Some actually just like to watch, read the instructions or even just relax doing some people watching. Yes, I believe many still do this..

Inviting someone over to your home can be interesting for the 1st meet. I mean, there's all kinds of things at play here. Some have animals, some are cleaner than others, some smoke inside, some don't smoke and pretty sure you get the idea. But, most importantly each home is based on that home dwellers taste and likes. So, not everyone is going to enjoy the visit or will want to exit sooner than one would normally prefer such as before Coffee and Cake is even served.

If you want visitors to your website to stick around.. serve them what they are looking for. Don't serve them Cookies and Milk suggestions when they are seeking Chicken Recipes!

Have a Great Year in 2012 - Everyone :)

Broken Pencils

2011-12-16T04:05:00.001-05:00

Broken Pencils = Broken Hearts?

It's not everyday you hear a true story like this one. I've met a wonderful new friend and her son is 8 years old. Nothing too unusual about meeting someone. But, when you get to know them and learn about the past or even current experiences one just has to wonder how it all is so different for everyone even if we all live in the same city, apartment building .. it just does not matter. Life is not the same for two people.. not even twins.

For those of us already out of school, especially elementary this story should indeed tickle your memory of puppy love and the like. So here we go!

Flash back into your days in elementary school classes and that one girl or boy that caught your eye. Well, this is the classic case in which someone has taken a liking to you or him shall we say in this case. Your sitting there daydreaming and thinking about the playground when all the sudden a little note is handed to you. You instantly look at the one handing it to you to see if it's from them or who passed it. Just a quick scan around the room and you know by the glowing smiles.

Now you secretly open the note only to see a couple of small hearts and simple words.. "I like You" do you like me" Circle YES or NO

WOW, just writing this makes me think of so many things in my own past but this story is not about my past. So, the young man placed his circle on the reply that suited him. Passed it back and quickly the smiles went to angry face. You might as well thrown a bucket of mud on her dress cause man that did not go over too well.

During the morning break all the kids went outside for morning recess. He returns to his desk only to find he now has a broken pencil. This was just a couple of weeks ago and to this day he's had many broken pencils... puppy love is so blind. They are not allowed to carry pencils on playground. Many times he's tried to hide it and she just waits for the right moment and then "snap" it's done!

Now for a little neat ending... well, not the pencil breaking that's still going on but last night we all went to dinner and a new girl approached the young lad asking to dance. He was glowing and had a blast. Wonder if the other girl would go to this new girls school to break her pencils?

How in the heck does this story relate to web design... it does not :)

But, if you're seeking a website template I highly recommend you give our site a visit and tell your friends.

Happy Holidays!

When Gas Was 13.6 Cents

2011-08-12T09:05:00.001-04:00

While visiting my best friends mothers house, out in the country about 20 miles from Austin, Texas. As we got closer I knew this was going to be a step back in time. Once we started to pull into the long rock covered driveway. It was like nothing changed from their childhood days. I use that term loosely cause it was a time of innocence, family and friends. Yes, wars were going on. Battles over this and that. But, back home everyone did their best to continue life in the best way possible. Happy with what they have as well as grateful, blessed .. I could go on forever cause back thing they must have thought it was going to go on forever.

Even during the great depression, people tried to live a normal life as possible. Eat, Sleep and yes.. work hard. I mean, work hard! If you were to compare what's in the bedroom, school locker, pockets and even in the hair of one 16 year old male of 1945 and one 16 year old male of 2011. You'd find more than 100 differences.. eh?

So let's see if I can remember when I was 16?

I'm 46 now, so that would be 30 years ago. Hmm, gas was about $1.35 per gallon. I had one of those Texas Hardship Drivers Licenses cause you only needed a part-time job and come from divorce family etc.. I was extremely lucky enough to have an International Scout II - all mine! Our dad provided the 1st ride for each of the 4 siblings with me being the youngest by 8 years.. yea, I was not supposed to happen! (wicked evil laugh)!!

Even 10 years after their divorce, without asking or ever talking about it. I was flown up to Tenn where he worked. Sitting there in the airport parking lot was the gift he said he wanted to give me. My mom and I drove it back.. wow! That was an amazing vacation :) Dad got the vehicle from one of those city auctions for impounded cars, drug bust etc.. for $800 bucks. Wish I still had that Scout, it's worth $15k now. Holy Crud Batcat!!! I know this because the receipt and all the paperwork was in the glove box.

All of this got me started working harder mowing yards in the neighborhood. I had pay for the gas to get to all the parties. I mean, gigs no wait.. ahh, sleep overs.. no, drat! Bonfires, camp outs and cook outs on the lake! Yep, that's it!

During the summer of 1981, still 16 year old teenager mind you. I was working at Wendy's - actually, McDonald's was my 1st job. I truly approached each of my ventures.. jobs.. as careers. Thank you for the lessons in life people :) Back then kids were just focused on themselves.. yeah, not much has changed.. lol.

I must have tired 30 jobs over the years. Landed some amazing careers along the way.. IBM, AT&T as well as SWB could not keep up with my multitasking mind. I actually got bored often till a buddy told me his place of employment was hiring. Big shout out to Steve Case for the career at AOL before 9-11. I finally decided to venture off on my own with Snerdey in 2004 :)

History of Gas Prices
Today Aug 2011, gas is: $3.54 per gallon.
Unfortunately, there is little to no solid data on gas prices before the 1950's, and so we'll begin our journey through the history of gas prices here. In 1950, gasoline cost about 26.8 cents per gallon. Gas rose about a cent or so per year until 1957 where gas was in its most remarkable period. From 1957 to 1969, prices at the pump only went up a total of 3.8 cents from 31 cents per gallon to 34.8 cents per gallon! Visit the History Of Gasoline. - americanautoshipping.com

How much was gas per gallon back when you were 16?
What were you driving, if any or carpooling, horse buggy.. walking?
Tell us about your 1st job! Come on, don't be shy :)
How much is gas currently in your home town?

Wanna help me buy more gas.. err, wait I don't own a vehicle!
Visit my website and purchase a website template to help pay for taxi fairs :)

Most of all.. have fun.. no matter what!

Unexpected

2011-08-10T08:45:00.003-04:00

Photo By Scott "Snerdey" Lawrence 2011

While driving along the Texas Coastline within the South Padre Island, TX beaches. I stumbled across this amazingly simple yet elegant setup for a wedding. There was nobody home. Seams the party was earlier in the day as it was about 2pm in the afternoon. Kinda hot ya know! So, one would wonder if this was really a real wedding?

When you visit the island there are 6 access points to the coast. The last 3 are via your vehicle.. yes, you can actually drive up the coastline about 25 miles or so. This setup was about 2 miles away from the main population of most people on vacation etc.. Actually, there was nothing to the right or left as far as the eye could see. Behind me in the photo is the Gulf Coast.

Interesting.. do you see anything in the photo that's missing?
Do you see what I don't see?

Have A Happy Life Everyone :)

Targets are everywhere in our lives. Take the game darts for example. Players associate the bullseye with success while playing darts. Close is good but it's never good enough. Those that want to hit the bull have to practice and I mean a lot! If you've ever thrown a dart, bowling ball, piece of trash even. You've aimed to the best of your abilities to hit the target. With darts the bullseye is not always the main target.

For example:

In the game Cricket. There are normally two players trying to make certain numbers on the board 3 times each. Each player has three darts. To start the game, they both take a turn throwing one dart to see who's closest to the bullseye. The one that's closest gets to go first. In this game the goal is.. make 3 of the following numbers.. 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15 and of course 3 of the bullseyes. All in that order, so one would start with the 20 first.

The outer ring is double the number and the inner ring is triple the number. First player hits a double 20 and a single 17. Only the 2 twenties would be scored and the 17 ignored. Must make each of the numbers in order.

To learn all the rules and options on playing Cricket please check out the following websites.

All Aboard The USS Powerpoint

2011-07-29T08:56:00.002-04:00

Ahoy There!

Welcome aboard the USS PowerPoint :)

Getting everyone on the same page is about the same thing as getting everyone aboard this ship! Looking at the photo from this perspective kinda puts a little more meaning to the idea of getting on the same page page and staying on that page till the next port. You know, the end of the project etc..

Take the ship here in the photo.. that's the company. There's a wheel house, now that's where the big cheese or boss stays put to control the business. Of course, there are those containers, they are not permanent as they switch off at different ports. Kinda like clients if you will. Actually, they are clients that purchased space on the ship.. so, yeah, that fits this subject.

What's the point of today's blog post? Well, this is how we announce new PowerPoint Presentation Templates added to our website search. This design is based on a Marketing Presentation as the wording can all be changed to match your presentation. You'll need to have access to Microsoft Powerpoint Software. Learn all about working with PowerPoint Templates and here are some more helpful Free PowerPoint Tutorials you can reference upon anytime you like!

CMS - It's In Your Hands

2011-07-25T18:58:00.003-04:00

You know there's a lot to owning or maintaining a website. Some websites are maintained by a huge amount of highly trained professionals. They all work together keeping the corporate business website online and up to date. That can be rather costly! To us it does not really matter how deep your pockets are. Our goal is to make sure the product you purchase from us works as displayed and at a fair price.

With that said we also offer custom template editing, custom web designs .. even from scratch. To begin with we both need to be on the same playing field. For example: This template number 34792 is on sale for $212 US Dollars. This is for the "do it yourself" website owner, webmasters and even other web design companies to purchase and edit as they need to fit their website project.

If your not sure what type of website is best for your project, please feel free to contact us for a free consultation and quote. We'll do our best to help you have more than one option for your design. Templates work as shown, meaning what you see it doing when you click on buttons, change pages .. all that animation is how the template was designed to present the owners information or details.

Each of the Flash CMS Templates offer a Control Panel Demo that you can visit to in order to test out the online tools. No need to have expensive software in order to design a website. All the tools you need to change the website logo, images and page content is all there for you!

It's in your hands... or is it?

Eat My Website!

2011-07-20T12:06:00.000-04:00

That's exactly what you want to happen to your website, you want it eaten up! Search engines send out little programs called bots. These bots go all over the web checking for new, fresh content on websites, blogs etc.. So it's important that your website is worthy of being gobbled up.

Take this sandwich please! Yes, you can have it and do what you want with it. Cause, that is what's going to happen to your website. If you don't create a website with unique content, fresh as in today's date or that freshly cooked bacon. You're sandwich, I mean your website will be eaten but it's how much of it they left on the plate that matters. Not to mention did they keep it down, or index your website properly.

There are a lot of things missing in my sandwich such as menu, how to eat, what other options you can have. But, is that really the point of my post today? No, it's stay focused when creating your website. The website templates you see on Snerdey were created by a team of professionals. Writers, Animators, Coders, Database Gurus, Director and don't forget the Music Department nor the Models. Everything you see took a team of about 7 people to create the website theme or template.

There's no need to go learn how to bake bread, create your own mayo or even raise pigs just so you can go make a sandwich that does not get the blue ribbon. That's like reinventing the wheel just to save a few bucks. Not everyone can make a great sandwich that everyone loves to eat. Many are just as happy with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. That's fine too, so don't expect your website to appeal to everyone's appetite. Just because you like your website does not mean it's right for the web or your niche.

You don't create a real deli shop to sell sandwiches to yourself.. so, don't have tunnel vision when it comes to your website design. There's such a thing as too much and too little. Think about the last time you purchased a sandwich and thought "I could have made one better" and saved myself a few bucks. That's what templates do for you, they save you time and money!

If you're new to the world of web design, welcome. We're happy to assist you in selecting a website template(s) that fits your project. We also offer affordable template editing as well as custom web designs from scratch.

Photography Websites

2011-06-01T18:06:00.001-04:00

There are a few types of websites that come to mind when it comes to a photographers website. So to help those who are new to the business or just now seeking to place their photos online. I've put together a collection of ideas, suggestions and of course your comments are indeed welcomed.

One
The first type of photographers website that comes to mind is the most common. One that is designed as a personal photo album. Just out to share their photos with the world without any control of who's using the photos and just basically taking photos as a hobby. Here are a few designs that are perfect for a Personal Photography Website.

Two
Many photographers have turned their passion into their career. So their websites are more a showcase of past photo gigs with separate albums to display weddings, parties and the like. It's a good idea to add a few basic pages such as About Us, Our Services and Contact Us but it's also good to have a blog section for the daily, weekly thoughts and just random photos for visitors to get a feel for the people behind the camera. It's one thing to say you're a Professional Photographer but it's an entirely different thing to prove it! I'd highly consider adding a Client Testimonial section as well. Why a blog? If the website is only photos and contact me then there's nothing for search engines to index your website with.

Three
What about those that are looking to sell their photos? Many do so there are some designs just for that purpose. You can have watermarks and control the use as best as possible. But there's no real way for one to protect what people do with your photo once it's purchased. Unless you have an army of lawyers. So, for those who just would like give it a go here are some Online Store Websites designed to sell photos.. some might also be designed to sell cameras and equipment but you'll get the idea.

In closing...
Hope this helps with making your decision on what type of website design is best suited for your project or business. If you need any assistance or consulting just let me know .. I'd be happy to assist you in creating your website just for you.

Happy Photo Taking!
Snerdey :)

Magento Themes and jQuery Features

2011-05-06T12:01:00.003-04:00

View More Magento Themes

If you're an eCommerce website owner or about to start a online store project. Make sure you give your website a high-end look and feel. Consider what software you're using for the website to display your products to your visitors. The more professional and easy the site is to navigate and checkout will turn those visitors into buyers!

New eCommerce projects keep emerging all over the web at the speed of sound. So, if you are going to start a new online store you should check out the Magento themes. Of course you have heard about jQuery plugins and now you can get a Magento template with some useful plugin.

Sliders are the most popular and useful plugin that can be used at the online stores. These great tools enhance your website navigation and make your products catalog more accessible. Also you can often meet such interesting jQuery solutions implemented in the themes as accordions. Fantastic navigation solutions for the websites main navigation. The slideshows help to concentrate the visitors attention towards featured products and special offers and or sales. The animated effects bring more interactivity and keep the visitors interested in seeing what else your online business has to offer them.

I've seen all kinds of neat banners, clever advertising campaigns that promote a website. We've all seen those really cool banners, buttons as well as text links to promote an online store. Even radio stations, TV ad's as well as fliers in the mail. They were good enough to get me to remember the domain name to check it out. To my surprise I land on websites that do not match the artwork on the banners and hype.

It's puzzling to me as to why so much effort is put in to marketing a website only to hear "I have tons of visitors, thousands of uniques and low sales". It's time to shut off those expensive ad's and take a step back to look at your website from a different view... the buyers view.

Too many times I've actually turned down projects for clients as they want it the way they "personally like" the website to look. Such as their favorite color, styles or to look like some other competitors website. All of which do not match the theme of the product or services etc..

With a Magento website you can purchase a theme to give the site the professional look and feel that buyers are comfortable with. And by all means get yourself an SSL for the checkout. Make sure your checkout process is not incombersom with way too many steps just to sign up.

Template Monster Discounts and Promo Codes

2011-02-09T13:33:00.005-05:00

Compared to the regular normal price found at TemplateMonster we offer 10% off any website template on our website Snerdey. How are we able to keep the templates discounted at 10% off and is it for real? Two of the most common questions asked. Some even ask why we do it?

1. TemplateMonster is a template supplier. They pay 20% in commission to affiliate websites like Snerdey.com to promote and sell their templates. We're only allowed to offer 10% off via the affiliate agreement. We do this to help our repeat buyers and new customers save. Think about it. Some of the templates are $225 and up to $11,000 so 10% can really make a huge difference!

2. Promo codes expire so we tend not to use them. But, if you find one for an offer and think it's working. Compare that final checkout price to our "On Sale Price" before you give away that money! We can certainly create a promo code to match.. if not, it's possible the offer is not a true monster promo code. We'd be happy to check into it for you.

3. YES - We're for real and we do this to help people save money. You've got a new friend in the business that's there for you in case you need hosting, domain names, custom web editing. Connect with us on Facebook.

More than happy to consult with you at no charge. We also like to keep it simple. We offer many ways for you to contact us. We also provide custom template editing. Just let us know what you have in mind.
