fall wreath

2010-09-17T16:27:00.000-07:00

When I saw this non-traditional wreath at Thrifty Decor Chick I could not get to the dollar store fast enough to get leaves to make my own.

I love the idea of a not circular wreath!

If you want to make one of your own check out the simple tutorial at

dumpster dresser to tv stand

2010-09-15T12:55:00.000-07:00

over a year ago we found this old dresser at our dumpster

and since i love a good project

we brought it inside

it was missing the top drawer

but we decided we could use it that way, anyway

as a shelf

here it is before

here it is a few days later

in a super light minty blue green

with free knobs we accumulated

and a few months later

we painted it white

and added some baskets

in the end we sold it for $40 on craigslist

but it just goes to show you can make money

by giving furniture a facelift

and dressers make pretty great tv stands

with lots of storage

sewing in tight spaces

2010-09-14T22:15:00.000-07:00

Since Rachael and I are both living in 3 bedroom apartments we find sometimes we have to get creative with the space we have to work with.

Rachael, being the creative genius she is, decided to put her sewing table in a bedroom closet!

I love it.

Not only is it super functional, but it's pretty dang cute too!

And me, being the copycat I am, had to have my own!

I put mine in a little smaller space, but it still serves it's purpose and I love it!

vanity

2010-09-04T09:21:00.000-07:00

before

after

wood is great

but i love white paint!

i bought this vanity on clearance at shopko

it was regularly $300 and i got it for $30

i love how pretty it is in my all white bedroom

night stand

2010-09-04T09:19:00.000-07:00

this nightstand was purchased for $3.00

at goodwill

it was in good shape

and while i love mid century pieces,

i love to modernize

with a new white paint job

and a knob from anthropologie

my first upholstery project

2010-09-04T09:12:00.000-07:00

before

after

once i realized how easy reupholstering

could be

i jumped on the first free chair i could

and gave it a new paint job

and some new foam and fabric

a whole new chair!
