Zit Zapper by Eyes Lips Face - Part II

As promised, here is my lovely little before and after results and observations of the Zit Zapper by elf cosmetics.

I would like to first introduce you to exhibit a: my lovely medication induced "rocky ridge" ~~fore~~ fivehead. The two pictures were taken in a matter of approximately two hours apart. I initially took the before pictures for myself to compare and see if it actually helped. When I went and looked in the mirror later that afternoon though, I noticed my forehead looked like it had healed up a lot already. I was wondering if I was just seeing through wishful thinking eyes, so I took a second photo to compare, and low & behold, it was actually so much better!

I also happened to try it out on my cluster of REALLY red and angry looking pimples on my chin. I often break out around my chin and forehead. (My T-Zone is super oily, but my cheeks get super dry & flaky sometimes. It's frustrating.) Anyways, the results on my chin were also really crazy. If you look at the before and after you can see the redness is vastly reduced, and you can also see that the huge zit that looks like it's going to exlpode all over the planet at any given moment has calmed down drastically and even lost the white head without popping!

I couldn't believe how well the zit zapper worked on both of my problem areas. I was very skeptical of it because I've tried almost EVERYTHING and have either seen no results or killed my face with burns and rashes.

What I really love about this product is that it uses a really gentle medical ingredient (salicycle acid) in conjunction natural ingredients like witch hazel, tea tree oil, and camphor. Being so satisfied with this product, I took advantage of the 50% off bestsellers sale on the elf website and I quite literally added 15 of the zit zappers to my cart. I'm kind of excited to give these out to my sisters and a couple of friends who also struggle with problem breakouts! Conceal Set by EyesLipsFace

I've been eyeing the elf zit zapper for a while because I often have these crazy / embarrassing / ugly acne breakouts on my chin and I've tried EVERYTHING! (Prescriptions, Toothpaste, Acne Washes, Exfoliating Scrubs, etc!!)

I was going to order one of the zit zappers from the elf website, but today I was at the mall and I saw this in the Zellers store! I couldn't believe my eyes! It's called the Conceal Set and includes the zit zapper, a Blemish Concealer, and a quality concealer brush! All of that in a cute little kit for only $4.99! (This is why I adore elf!). Now I could have easily passed on the
kit and just purchased the zit zapper on the eyeslipsface website, but it was there, I was there, it just felt right!

The zit zapper is fantastic. The active acne fighting ingredient is salicylic acid, which I've used in other products before, so I definitely trust it to be safe. I once had horrible chemical burns on my face from using a prescription cream with benzoyle peroxide, so I don't like to use anything more powerful than salicylic acid. It's a liquid in a nice little vial with a roller style
applicator on top, so it goes on smooth without being creamy or leaky / drippy all over your face. LOVE!

So it just so happens that I have this lovely clustery breakout on my chin right now. I decided to put the zip zapper to the test and tackle my clusterfeck of pimpley goodness. I took a picture before applying it, and if you promise not to laugh, I'll post a photo journal of my results. I will
say this, it has been only two hours and I already see a dramatic reduction in redness, swelling, and overall size/look of irritation on my chin! It's insane how well this has already worked in only two hours! Needless to say, my next ELF order (next week, probably) will most definitely include a bunch of the zit zappers! Christmas is coming & these would make FANTASTIC stocking stuffers for all my sisters!!

Hard Candy Plumping Serum Volumizing Lip Gloss

Burrr!!! I'm up and going before the sun & it's cold/rainy! Booo!!!

Guys, I freakin' LOVE this lip gloss! It's by the new line Hard Candy. It was super reasonable (under $10), and it actually does what it's supposed to do! I love the feeling of tingling lips in the morning! I got this very light pink because it's my colour, but it goes on sheer, so I'm not sure about any of the darker colours do. I may have to try some more out! I love that it's shiny, not at all sticky / goopy, and lasts relatively long! I drink a lot of water throughout the day, and this pretty much stayed on nicely for a few hours! I definitely suggest grabbing a couple of these bad boys!

Hard Candy Nobody's Perfect Concealer Palette

As you know, I purchased the Nobody's Perfect concealer palette from this new cosmetics line called Hard Candy. Its a set of cream concealers with all the shades/colours you'd need to cover blemishes, red spots, bruises, dark eyes, or any other skinful flaws that may plague your lovely face. I don't want to say I hate it because I absolutely don't HATE it, but I doubt I'll buy it again or even use the one I have very often. :( I guess I just prefer a powder concealer palette! My opinion is more about preference than it is about the quality of the product in general. Regarding the quality though, I found that it didn't really give me the level of coverage that I really require. I have been really sick on & off my entire life, so due to an array of medications I've been on through my teen/youth years my face broke out waaaay more than it should have, and it has left me with some acne scars and discoloration on and around my chin. I found the Nobody's Perfect concealer just didn't give me that confident coverage that my regular [powder] concealer palette (by EyesLipsFace) does.

The neat thing about the Nobody's Perfect palette is that it comes with a cute little brush. I ended up using my concealer brush from EyesLipsFace in the end though due to the lacking quality of the brush the Hard Candy palette came with.

Overall, if you like a cream concealer and don't have MAJOR face issues, I'd suggest this to you because it's not all that bad; it's just not for me.

On a completely unrelated note, you may have noticed that the last few posts have been sent from my Blackberry with an annoying signature attached. I'm pretty sure I've removed it now, so that should help, but I'm posting from my Blackberry because my computer had to be sent in to be fixed! It should be back in 7 - 10 days, but I actually like posting from my Blackberry while I'm out & about! It really is quite convenient!

Hard Candy Cosmetics

So today I was the store and I saw this new cosmetic line called Hard Candy. I saw it last week and was curious, but I finally decided to buy a few products and test them out for you guys! The price is pretty reasonable at Walmart, but let me know if it varies anywhere else? I love how everything has a funky name. Like the concealer palette is called Nobody's Perfect! Adorable, and I'm not perfect, so I grabbed one! I also picked up Plumping Serum Volumizing Lip Gloss. There was a really interesting lip gloss crayon type thing that was supposed to be SUPER shiny, but there wasn't really any colours I'd actually wear, so I passed for today!I'll let you know how these two buys work out. I have a lovely new pimple on my cheek to test out my Nobody's Perfect palette!

Bent Bristle Frustration!!!

So as you know from a previous post about the Instyler Rotating Hair Straightener, the bristles on my Instyler bent down like an old tooth brush REALLY quickly. It hasn't really been doing its job properly since then. Mostly, it is really evident on the ends of my hair. They aren't "polished" like the InStyler promises to do. =[

So I decided today to try out a way to get them to stand back up. I sprayed a little hair spray on them, propped them up with a bobby a pin and turned that baby on high heat! Hopefully it'll help keep them straightened up. I'll let you know how it works out for me!

Has anyone else had this problem? I Googled it and it seems to be pretty common! Boo!! =[

I'm also open to fixing suggestions in case this doesn't work!

Hey guys!! I know it's been ages since I've reviewed anything! I haven't really been shopping for new stuff because I'm saving for a car!

Anyways, I've been eyeing this [cruelty free]Bohemiam Beach Spray by David Babii for WildAid! I didn't really want to buy it online for a few reasons though, so I just sort of left it alone. Recently, I was at Winners looking for some new sunglasses (Hellooooo cheap Kate Spade & Guess), and I saw it for o nly $6.00! I obviously grabbed myself a bottle and tried it out.

Now here's the thing! I sprayed it on my hair to try it out, and then decided I wanted to go get my hair cut (it looks adorable by the way) Anyways, it made my hair stiff(ish) and big (looovee), so I decided I'd better wash my hair before getting it cut. I had some trouble washing the spray out of my hair!! Ahhhh!!! It was scary! I had to shampoo three times and condition it twice with a hair masque to get it back to being soft.

On the upside, It does what it says with the hold & the volume! I quite enjoyed that aspect of it & I do intend on using it again, but I'm going to have to figure out how to wash it out better!

TIps & Tricks - Issue #2: Clumpy Mascara Be Gone!

Have you ever encountered the dreaded clumpy mascara on your lashes or mascara wand? If you have, you know that it sucks and it's annoying. It also leads to an eye full of flaw! Issue #1 of the new Tips & Tricks feature of So Not Productive you'll learn how to prevent the nasty things like clumpy eyelashes & bacteria in your mascara!

Grab some eye makeup remover pads or wipes. If you have liquid eye makeup remover, grab a little shot glass or cup and put just enough in the glass to cover the brush end of your mascara wand.

Wipe (or dip in the solution) the brush end of the mascara wand to remove any dry or crusted mascara from the wand and between all the bristles. If you use a good brush disinfectant spray for your makeup brushes, give the mascara wand a nice little spray to kill any bacteria that might be living inbetween those tiny bristles!

Tips & Tricks - Issue #1: Smoker's Fingers

Once upon a time, a woman who smoked eminated a sophisticated air. She was classy and intelligent. What they don't tell you in those photos of beautiful classy women is that smoking can not only turn your teeth yellow, but they can also turn your finger nails yellow! I'm not kidding!

Everywhere you look there are methods of whitening your teeth, but what about something to remove the discolouration on your finger nails? I don't smoke anymore, but at one I did and I noticed a yellow tinge to my nails. I've since been using a secret weapon against the potentional yellowing of my pretty nails!

The secret is *drum roll* the same thing you use on your teeth! A great whitening tooth paste can go a long way in your bathroom! To keep my nails fresh and clean looking I use my regular whitening tooth paster. In case you're curious, Sensodyne with whitening is my brand. It keeps my teeth from being sensative from the extremes and it provides the extra kick of white to the good ol' pearlies!

I lik to apply a tiny dap to my fingernails and smear it on over the nail and cuticle. I leave it on while I brush my teeth and just rinse off it afterwards.

I haven't had any serious yellowing in my nails, so I don't know how it works to remove long set in stains, but I notice my nails looking brighter and healthier after the short time with the tooth paste on them. If you have some longer set in stains on your nails from smoking, please test this out and let me know how it goes for you! I'd love to hear your stories! Maybe I'll post some on here! ;)

EyesLipsFace (e.l.f) Mineral Foundation

Unfortunately I didn't get around to posting day two of my five day e.l.f.athon, so here is day two's entry and day three's will follow in a few hours!

What we have here is the partner in crime to the e.l.f Mineral Concealer the e.l.f Mineral Foundation. I use the two of these lovely wonders in conjunction with one another to create a flawless face to face the day!

What I love about this foundation is that it works so well with the concealer to both hide the bad and highlight the good aspects of my face! I also really love it because it's about half a shade darker than my skin, so not only does it give me great looking skin, but it also gives me a tiny bit of a glow/tan (which I could really use!)

Pretty much feeling awesome about this, of course. Like the concealer, it helps my skin with all its troubles! J'adore e.l.f!

Paris Hilton vs. InStyler

In the latest hair raising news, Paris Hilton has released a line of hair products which include a similar product to that of the InStyler. I really have got to say that I'm somewhat intrigued!

I'm thinking about getting my hands on one of these for two reasons: #1: I bent the bristles on my InStyler and can't get them to go back into shape! & #2: Paris' is PINK!

Some interesting differences I can see right off the bat are the bristles on the flat side of the iron. On the original InStyler the bristles are soft and very close together, whereas on the Paris Hilton rotating hot iron, the bristles seem to be solid, plastic, and more spread out. This kind of leads me to believe that it won't have the "shiney" effect that the InStyler promises. The InStyler says that their bristles seperate & shine your hair as it passes through them.

The most obvious difference is the colour of the Paris Hilton. I'm pretty excited to have this pink and black baby hanging on the hooks beside my vanity! Compared to the silver and orange coloured InStyler, the Paris Hilton is far more sleek and girly looking.

The last and probably BEST difference I was able to spot immediately was the price! The InStyler retails for anywhere from $90 - $120 depending on where you buy or order from, whereas the Paris Hilton Celebrity Styler can be napped from Sally Beauty for a measly $50!!

Ladies, keep your eyes peeled for a review of the Paris Hilton Celebrity Styler in the next few months! If you've been able to get your pretty little hands on one of these puppies, PLEASE comment here with your experiences! I'd love to hear from you!

EyesLipsFace (e.l.f) Mineral Concealer

Welcome to day one of my five day sprint of reviews of e.l.f cosmetics! I was directed to the eyeslipsface website by my best friend, and let me just say, she gave me the best advice I could ever ask of a best friend! Screw relationship advice, give more tips like that one!

My first purchase from e.l.f was the loose powder Mineral Makeup Concealer and it has definately set the tone for my opinion of e.l.f!

Let's talk coverage for a minute. I've been finding that my face is breaking out way more than it ever has! I'm twenty-one years old! This should not be my prime of pimples, zits, and blackheads, but it seems to be it! I decided to switch to a powder concealer/foundation combo in order to test the coverage differences. I was completely amazed by how well e.l.f's mineral powder covered my blemishes and scars from being a horrible person and picking at the blemishes! I continued to use the mineral concealer because I liked how well it covered without feeling heavy, clogging, or greasy! I also continued using it because I found that it helped with my oily patches on my face. I have combination skin, and I've come to realize that the mineral concealers/foundations by e.l.f drastically reduce the amount of excess oil in my facial skin. Lastly, and possibly one of the most important thing I can point out is the reduction in my breakouts! I still can't believe how much my blemishes and acne breakouts have reduced! They're less frequant and they heal super fast! I'm assuming the combination of not having so much oil and the minerals that are infused in the concealer and foundation have helped to reduce and heal the problems in my skin!

The great thing about eyeslipsface is that their products cost so little and get the job done as good if not better than some of the high end products. The Mineral Concealer is a measly $5.00! Meanwhile, you could be spending $30.00 -- or more, on something that has the exact same effect!

For a product to work so amazingly and still be so incredibly inexpensive, that it truly the greatest thing life can offer!

I like to use the e.l.f. Kabuki Face Brush to apply my concealer all over. The small handle allows for supreme control and flawless coverage!

Best Makeup Remover .... EVER!

I shit you not my friends! (Pun definitely intended ) I have been using baby wipes to remove my makeup for about three years now. I actually never even thought anything of it or thought to share this as a tip because it's become such a natural thing to me. Today I had a friend over whom I haven't seen in ages and we were discussing makeup and cosmetics (of course!). When I mentioned that I had tried Nuyu Super Soft Makeup Remover Pads Nuyu Super Soft Makeup Remover Pads and hated them because they were so greasy, I pointed out that the best product for removing makeup that I have come across is absolutely 100% baby wipes.

I know what you're thinking; how can something you use to clean baby poop with be so amazing for removing makeup from your face?!..... but if you really sit and think about it, babies have super sensitive skin that irritates easily, yet still requires a great degree of cleanliness, so someone out there had to create a product that not only cleans dirt, poop, debris, and other various wonders that babies and toddlers put on their tushies, but also protects their skin from harmful chemicals that could potentially cause rashes and blemishes in sensitive areas! Tada! Baby wipes were born! They're not overly moist, they have that fresh baby scent, they do wonders for removing makeup from your face, hands, and other major body parts, and best of all they're cheap! You can get the tub featured in this post for around $5.00 and it includes approximately 70 - 80 wipes. PLUS, it doubles as a moisture sealing container and wipe dispenser that can be refilled! That's right kids! You can buy REFILLS for your awesome baby wipes container!

I know it seems a little sketchy to have a tub of baby wipes sitting on your vanity or bathroom counter; in fact if you don't have children, your friends may have some serious inquiries, but it is well worth the interrogations! If you're crafty, you can always bedazzle/pimp/redecorate you baby wipes dispenser!
