Yesterday I went to Ayala to have my tickets for the canceled concert of The Killers refunded. Inside the office, a guy was waiting for his money to be given to him.. moments later a lady came back and she handed the money to the guy. After he signed some papers and took the money, he went back to where he was seated and fixed some stuff.

Out of the blue he asked me if I was going to have my tickets refunded too and a random conversation started with this total stranger. It didn’t last long and after 30 seconds it was over and went out and waited for the elevator. It was really “too bad” that the show got canceled, he said its because they’re going to be disbanded, I thought that it’s because of low ticket sales like the Slipknot concert that got canceled years ago (hahaha).

That’s that. He left and then when I got my money and signed my papers, my brother came.. talk about wrong timing and lateness! In the end, the three of us (My brother and I and the guy who talked to me earlier) were in the same elevator. Nah, I didn’t say hi or anything, I got shy.

With PHP 3,100 in my hand, what was I supposed to do with it? For four hours Alex and I went around Ayala, getting to Greenbelt, Landmark and Glorietta looking and trying out stuff at Power Mac Center, Music 1, etc.. I got home with 2 new clutch bags and lots of food (consumed in hours only, heh).

Right now, I’m thinking of either pick a new show to go to (Paramore?) or just save the money.. I have enough to buy just one ticket. Unfortunately for me, if I choose to go to Paramore’s show, I’d have to go on my own. Alex already has plans going with his s/o there.. bah. Don’t wanna be caught up with that.

I’m pretty excited to use the bags I bought.. I got a grey one and a brown one. The brown one I plan to use for school (gotta pick the right time for it), the grey one.. well, maybe on parties if I do get to attend one.

Tomorrow starts my 2nd week at school. I hate my Wednesday schedule, both classes suck on that day. Come to think of it, my Thursday and Friday classes suck too. I guess this term is just not my lucky term after all.. no enjoyable subjects. Nuh-uh, it’s not because they require us to do a lot (HAHA BEAT YOU TO IT!) but its because the things they make us/me do are not that easy.. or easy to learn. Or I just don’t have the skills for it.

PS: I know my layout is seriously AGES old, I seriously want to make a new layout.. where did my skills go? Even I am getting sick of Hayden’s face, lol.

I opened my site again (2 weeks ago, I think), put the maintenance mode plugin back to its place, in hopes that one of these days (during my christmas break), I’ll be able to conceptualize a layout that will work for me and would catapult to making an epic comeback to the blogging world.

Unfortunately, I’ve failed in even trying to do that.. because, the moment I opened photoshop, 2 hours has passed and I haven’t finalized even just a draft! I guess blogging is out of my system now?

NAH, NOT QUITE. I blame tumblr for sucking all my time that’s supposed to be for this site. For major upgrades, especially now that I’ve learned new things in school about Web Dev’t that might just come in handy for my own use, for upcoming layouts and such. 2009 was a year spent in Tumblr, and I’m not very proud of that.. its like being addicted to cocaine, or like addiction that hardcore rpg gamers experience.

I still write long-ass entries that a couple of people find time to read (though I notice the trend now is tl;dr), and between those long, novela-length entries, I put some random filler posts in between. Heh, no, they aren’t there just to be fillers.. or for tumblarity (DIE!), they’re there simply for the reason that I want to ’share’ it, or for my sake of filling up my “tumblr scrapbook”, to be some kind of design.

Anyway, 2010’s a new year.. hopefully a year that I will become more active here again. Happy new year guys! I’m really excited to see things unfold this year, hahaha. And and, don’t you just find the number 2010 pretty in general? I know for sure I’ll enjoy writing/typing this year.. on quiz papers (no not really, I don’t get quizzes anymore in school; if we do.. its usually online-based haha)

Let me know what I missed on the blogosphere! Please? Tumblr and domain blogging are two very different worlds.. though, I noticed towards the end of 2009, more people started using it. And many people didn’t agree with that. That’s another story!

Oh yeah, I parted ways/broke with unlearnme.cn hahaha. I couldn’t pay up the price for a .cn anymore, too expensive! I’ve a new one but I’m gonna use it for school so no need to really know what’s the name.. but I’m sure y’all can figure out what it is when I say that it’s a domain name I’ll be using professionally. And for the first time, my domain name is not related to Incubus!

I noticed that Michael Jackson was in the trending topics section of Twitter and some of my friends tweeted about him. I couldn’t understand WHY they were doing this.. does he have a new song out, a scandal perhaps (LOL.. cause almost every artist you think who’ll be the last to get involved in that suddenly GETS into one), or did he do something silly relating to child molestation again?

And then I saw somebody put the RIP word next to his name.

WOAH.

I think he died too early. REALLY REALLY EARLY. He could’ve done so much more with his life.. where was he during the last months? The last thing I’ve heard about him was that child molestation issue. Nothing recent about his music, or maybe a movie.. a new music video — nada. People really shouldn’t care that much about the molestation issue. I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT IT. I mean, for me, it’s not really a big deal. It’s not like he’s the only one who does that. Sure, it is bad. But whatever. People have sex with minors, isn’t that molestation too? And they don’t get the same legal punishment that he undergo when he molested those kids. People kill other people, worse case scenario is that they’re artists like him as well.

More issues and scandals surround people around the entertainment industry now, they don’t take it as a big deal. But apparently everybody thought what he did was a mortal sin. Geez, get over it. Don’t lie that you did not enjoy his music! His songs, what he did for a living, were good. Lyrics made sense, the message was there and clearly delivered.

I blame the media and people who were just making fun of him just for the heck of it. I feel bad for him at the same time because, to me, he let them get into him. He shouldn’t have ‘lied low’ but continued to make music instead. Look at the other artists who are trying to keep up with the times even if they’re starting to lose their glam — they still make it out somehow.

I remember making a MJ-related entry last year, Pop Lives, check it out. Most of what I have to say are already written there and I don’t see the need to repeat it anymore, it gets redundant that way.

Last night, I witnessed a couple of Michael Jackson related coincidences during my last class. It was during my Technical Drafting class from 6-9PM. The professor was discussing about ortographical drawings and he made an example of what he was talking about on the Batmobile. And then he mentioned that Michael Jackson owned one of those Batmobiles. I researched on that just now and it seems to be false information hahaha.

Next coincidence was during the demo of our prof for the next plate that is due next week. Out of the blue while he was doing a demo (concentrating and making lines on the drafting paper), my friend started doing the moonwalk (and then I loled.. in my mind, HEH) back and forth. Of course it was hilarious (to me), but I wanted to concentrate on the demo so I shrugged it off..

And then I got home, went online, slept late (again) and when I woke up .. POOF, MICHAEL JACKSON IS DEAD HEADLINING MY TWITTER AND TUMBLR DASHBOARDS.

This is truly devastating.. the only pop icon the world has is gone now. He shouldn’t have died now!! He has to come back to the Philippines, make a last concert tour (just like NIN is doing now) before deciding to end his life! I can’t bear to listen to more than 1 song from him right now.. I’ll only start tearing up. But I must share this one video right now. It’s “They Don’t Care About Us.”

When I used to watch this as a kid, I thought the whole video was shot in the Philippines! On some province.. like, er, Palawan? It ‘looked’ like it was Palawan (to me). ) You could say I was too dumb then, I think I was 10 or 12, or.. 8-9?

The video is interesting to me cause of the way how everybody worked together on this. Seems like the whole city was engaged on this activity and cooperated with each other as well. And uh, he looked hot in the video and also on the videos that followed that. Fuck off, k. HE WAS HOT.

In the Closet is good too, seeing it at a young age made me feel awkward.. both of them were damn steamy inside the closet. Ooh, didn’t know Naomi Campbell was the girl in the video until years later.

Back to “He should’ve come here in Manila before dying” part of my post up there, he did came here in 1996. Too bad I was young that time. I don’t remember seeing that on the news as well, tsk tsk tsk! According to this, the concert was held around Parañaque.. my god, that’s where I live!!

Now I really wish I have a time machine.

RIP, Michael Jackson. You are ultimately a legend and a rare gem to the entertainment industry and an inspiration to your fans for your music.
