I take the best 5-7 shots, post them to Instagram to maintain my social media presence without any extra creation time, and then embed that exact post back into the blog article. It's the easiest way to cross-promote your content and keep people engaged in your ecosystem.

Step 2: Validate the Idea with Search Intent

Now that you have your photos and your keyword direction, it’s time to draft the structure. Do not stare at a blank page.

Open Gemini and use this exact prompt:

Act as my senior content strategist. Create a highly structured blog outline with an SEO-optimized title, section headings, a comparison table, and a dedicated FAQ section."

Gemini will spit out a clean framework in seconds. It saves you the mental energy of outlining, but remember: it does not replace you.

For instance, when I travel I like to plan on the locations I’ll be visiting prior to my trip. I wrote a few guides on how to plan your trip and plan your day accordingly to shoot on the locations at the best time of the day.

To make your iPhone footage look professional, you’ll need a few accessories. Here’s a list of must-haves:

• Tripod: A stable shot is crucial for cinematic video. I recommend the Joby GorillaPod for its flexibility or the Manfrotto Mini Tripod for its sturdiness.

• External Light: For low-light situations, an external light like the Mini Cube from SmallRig can make a huge difference.

• Microphone: Good audio is just as important as good video. The Rode Microphone is a great choice, or you can go for a budget-friendly option like this one on Amazon.

Step 3: Shoot the Content Using Simple Techniques

When it comes to shooting, simplicity is key. Here are some tips to get you started:

• Frame Rate and Resolution: Shoot at 30 fps at 1080P. Forget about 4K; most social media platforms compress the files to 1080P and dealing with 4K data storage can be a nightmare.

• Stabilization: Use the built-in stabilization features of your iPhone or apps like Filmic Pro to keep your shots steady. Gimbals are overrated for social media content.

• Lighting: Natural light is your best friend. Shoot during the golden hours ideally (early morning or late afternoon) or during an overcast day for the best lighting.

Pro Tip: Use the Cinematic Mode on newer iPhones to add a professional touch to your videos. This mode automatically adjusts the focus and exposure to create a more cinematic look.

Step 4: Edit Your Videos

Editing is where the magic happens. Here are some apps to help you turn your raw footage into a polished video:

• Free Apps: InShot and CapCut are great free options that offer a range of editing tools.

• Professional Apps: If you’re looking for more advanced features, Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro are industry standards.

Pro Tip: Use LUTs (Look-Up Tables) to colour-grade your footage and give it a cinematic look. You can find free LUTs online or use the ones available in your editing app.

• I wish the content was accessible via an app instead of using an online browser. It would be more convenient to access the content on the go switching devices.

• No notification once new content is added to the Academy

• There is a cost in using all the tools Lost Leblanc mention in this training. Tools like Lightroom or Final Cut Pro will be needed to follow along what he is teaching. Even though you can use free similar tools, it is recommended those softwares to follow along and get the most out of the training. Ever dreamed of turning your travel adventures into a popular blog? Me too! Back in 2015, I started a blog just for fun, a way to share my trips with loved ones. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) wasn't even on my radar – it all felt like complicated code. But in 2020, I decided to dive into the world of SEO and learn how to make my blog shine brighter online.

It's been a long adventure, and I'm definitely still learning. But guess what? My keywords are climbing the Google ranks, and a few of my blog posts are even snagging that coveted first-page spot!

That means a steady stream of visitors each month, all without any ads. Now, all I gotta do is keep creating fresh content to bring in even more organic traffic from Google.

So, with a few years of experience under my belt, I'm excited to share some tips that have helped me write travel blog posts that Google loves. Let's crack the SEO code together and turn your travel stories into a thriving online adventure!

Step 1: Keyword Compass – Finding What Travelers Crave

Before you type a word, gotta figure out what travel-hungry peeps are searching for online. I explain everything about search intent more in detail in my blog challenge to help you start a blog and earn your first income in 7 days.

That's where Keysearch comes in – your keyword detective agency!

We'll use it to find those long, specific searches that travelers use a lot (think 500+ searches a month) but with not too much competition. For example, instead of just "travel blog," we might target "hidden gems in Budapest."

Keysearch also helps uncover those burning questions travelers have, which become the gold for your blog post titles!

Stop guessing what to write and start answering the questions people are wondering from the experience you have had during your trip. Ideally, you should be doing your research prior to your trip to make it easier on you.

Step 2: Content Creation – Weaving Keywords into Epic Tales

Now you have your keyword compass, let's write! But remember, SEO doesn't mean shoving keywords in like a backpack overstuffed with souvenirs.

Focus on sprinkling the keyword naturally throughout your post, making it flow smoothly and read like an awesome travel story. Think of it like painting a picture with words, taking readers on adventures and showing off amazing places.

• Add the keywords in your headings as much as you can because this is how Google crawlers will know what the topic of your blog is about.

• Add the keywords in the description of the images you add to your article.

• Add the keywords in the title and meta description of your blog.

Step 3: Visual Appeal – Photos That Wow (and Don't Slow You Down!)

Breathtaking pics are a must for any travel blog. But here's a secret most newbies miss: image size matters!

Giant files can make your blog slow, like a turtle with a heavy backpack.

Use a free tool like tinypng.com to shrink them before uploading.

While you're at it, sprinkle in some SEO magic to your image titles by adding the keyword and a short description for the search engines to understand.

(Think "Budapest Travel Guide - Fisherman's Bastion View"). Also, in Squarespace, go to the SEO tab of your blog article to add the title and meta description.

Step 4: Pinterest Power & Tailwind Time-Saving

Let's make your blog posts Pinterest superstars! Tailwind is a lifesaver for creating stunning blog post thumbnails and Pinterest images that look amazing on both platforms.

Just like with your blog post pictures, remember to shrink them down and use those relevant keywords. Here are two blog articles where I share how I use Pinterest and Tailwind to grow my blog traffic.

Step 5: Meta Description Marvel – Short & Sweet for Maximum Impact

Imagine the meta description as a tiny ad for your blog post in search results. Space is tight, so write a draft and then use a cool AI tool called ChatGPT to help you shorten it while keeping the focus on the keyword.

This little snippet is your chance to grab readers' attention and make them click through to your travel adventures!

Step 6: Promotion Paradise – Spreading the Travel Bug

Every blog post deserves a grand send-off! I created a master list in Google Sheets to plan and track all my promotional activities.

Don't forget the super important step – indexing your new post with Google Search Console. This helps Google find your amazing content faster (usually within 48 hours). Copy and paste the blog post URL into Google Console and hit submit for indexing.

Step 7: SEO Tracking with Ahrefs – Monitoring Your Journey

Keysearch is great for initial keyword research, but for deep dives into SEO tracking, you need Ahrefs – your trusted SEO companion.

This powerful tool lets you see how your blog's SEO health is doing month by month.

By definition, passive income is income that requires little to no effort to earn and maintain. I still remember the day I was introduced to this concept, I could not believe it could be real. But yet if you look around you, you will see many sources of passive income in our daily lives:

- The rent you pay is a source of passive income for your landlord. The payment he receives may be enough to cover their mortgage and maintenance fees bust also get a profit on top.

- The stocks you buy on the stock market are a source of passive income if traded the right way. You receive a dividend at the end of each trading period.

- Becoming an online teacher can be a source of passive income. You just need to create the content once, host it on a platform like Teachable, Podia or Skillshare and receive your payment every month for every student that enrols.

The goal of passive income is to make money while you sleep by providing value to others or answering a problem people have.

How to earn a passive income

There are 3 main sources of passive income:

- Physical products

- Digital product

- Services

Up to you to find the one you feel the most comfortable with to get started.

I started by selling digital products I did not own. I partnered with companies to sell their products on their behalf. And in return, I'd earn a percentage on each sale made.

This is called affiliate marketing.

I will share with you more ways I have used to earn an income online. But before that, I'd like to clarify that setting up a passive income requires time and effort. Only a small amount of people would actually put in the effort to make it work and be successful with this business model.

My sources of passive income

Affiliate programs: As a blogger, I partner with brands in the different industry categories or niches I talk about ( travel, photography and marketing) to promote their products. These are the products I personally use and that can benefit other people looking for the same solutions. But it is not mandatory to use those products. It is just a good practice

When people decide to click on the links I promote and buy one of these products or services, I earn a commission on each sale.

Referral program: Same principle as the affiliate program, I earn a commission for every new customer I bring to a business. Teachable, Tailwind app or Adobe Creative Cloud programs are good examples. These are services I personally use too and that answer to a problem I faced in the past and that can benefit other people.

Sell digital products: I sell digital products like e-books, online courses and Lightroom presets. I just need to create them once and make them available for purchase and my job is done. Every time someone will want to get one of these products, I would earn the money from the sale

Membership: With my online course I offer a membership option to people who can't afford to pay the full cost of the course. They also benefit from a lot of videos I share related to making money online, marketing and entrepreneurship

Sell physical products: I recently started selling prints via my website and Instagram account. I use a third-party website named Printful to take care of printing on demand every time I receive an order from my website. This is done automatically and does not require me to do anything.

What are the steps to set up a passive income?

So, now that you know what is passive income and ways to earn a passive income online, where should you start?

Let's reverse-engineer it.

The goal is to earn money passively.

What do you need to make money passively? A product or service you can sell to people

How do you get people to find your product or service? You need them to visit your website or your social media account

How do you get them to visit your website or social media account? By using SEO (search engine optimisation) and Social Media

How do you get noticed on social media? By publishing posts related to your passion(s)

Once you figure that part out, you need a place to sell your product.

I personally use my blog that I host on Squarespace. Squarespace is very user-friendly and offers a built-in e-commerce store depending on the type of membership you are interested in.

But you can use dedicated websites like Shopify (perfect for e-commerce), and Clickfunnels or systeme.io (mostly used by marketers) or sell directly from Instagram.

You now know what is passive income, ways to earn a passive income and what you need to start making money while you sleep. The great thing is that once it is set up, everything works on automation 24/7. Some people will even describe this system as your personal ATM machine!

Even though there’s no real proof that Google can know if your content is fully AI generated and penalise it from online visibility. It is a best practice to always add a “human touch” to your articles.

My way of using it lately is more to create the layout of my blog before adding my personal touch to it. The AI tool can generate the basic structure, headlines, and keywords based on the topic. Then, I enrich the content with my personal experience, viewpoints, and unique style. This blend of technology and human creativity can yield engaging, informative posts that resonate with your readers.

Selecting the right affiliate programs is akin to choosing the perfect ingredients for a recipe. The wrong choice can lead to a less-than-appetizing outcome. Here's why it's crucial:

1. Relevance to My Niche

The first rule of thumb for me is to align the affiliate programs with my blog's niche. If I run a health and wellness blog, promoting car insurance might leave my audience scratching their heads. Staying relevant helps me maintain trust and engagement with my readers.

2. Quality Products or Services

My reputation as a blogger depends on the quality of the products or services I promote. Therefore, I research the offerings of affiliate programs thoroughly.

My professional work experience as a Product Marketing Manager has helped me to identify a winning product vs a product that still needs work to be adopted in markets.

Also, another tip that may help is the main question I ask myself when picking a product: “Would I genuinely recommend it to my friends and family?”

If the answer is no, I look for another one until I find THE product.

3. Commission Structure

Different affiliate programs offer varying commission rates. Some pay a fixed amount per sale, while others provide a percentage of the sale price. I need to consider which structure aligns with my revenue goals.

Defining your revenue goal should be your priority before finding your affiliate product. No need to look for a product that will get you 10$ per commission if you wish to earn $10K a month.

So if your goal is $10K per month, you need to be selling for $333 every day of the month. Some affiliate programs might get you that amount for one sale, others for 2 sales or more.

But at least, by doing it this way you will know how many sales you’d need to reach your financial goal and where to set your focus.

Cookies track my referrals' actions and can extend the time frame during which I earn commissions. Longer cookie durations offer more earning potential, especially for high-ticket items.

Why?

Knowing this will guide me toward relevant affiliate programs.

For instance, my niche is linked to people willing to become digital nomads and create a creative business on the side.

My goal is just to answer the questions they may have and it is easy to use online resources like Reddit, Quora, Facebook groups, Answer the Public or other SEO tools to find the topic to talk about in my blog articles.

2. Research Affiliate Networks

Affiliate networks like Amazon Associates, ShareASale, and CJ Affiliate act as intermediaries between affiliates and merchants. They host a plethora of programs to choose from, making it easier for me to find a match.

You can also use platforms like Impact, Digistore24, Clickbank or JVzoo.

3. Evaluate the Merchant's Reputation

I check the reputation of the companies behind the affiliate programs.

I look for online reviews, customer testimonials, and industry recognition. A reputable company is less likely to tarnish my blog's credibility.

4. Examine the Commission Structure

I delve into the nitty-gritty of the commission structure. Does it align with my earning goals? I'm cautious of low-paying programs unless they offer exceptional value to my audience.

5. Investigate Cookie Durations

As mentioned earlier, cookie durations vary widely. Some last for a single session, while others extend for 30 days or more. Longer durations provide more opportunities for earning commissions.

6. Review Affiliate Marketing Policies

I make sure to read and understand the affiliate marketing policies. Some programs may have stringent rules, such as restrictions on promotional methods or payout thresholds.

7. Contact Affiliate Managers

I don't hesitate to reach out to affiliate managers for clarification or questions. A responsive affiliate manager can be a valuable resource for my success. My success is their success, so I make sure to leverage them as much as I can.

Also, if you happen to become one of their best affiliates, you will be able to request custom affiliate links and higher commission rates. So it is always a good idea to be in a good relationship with your dedicated affiliate manager.

Diversify My Portfolio

Once I've selected my affiliate programs, I consider diversifying my portfolio. Promoting a mix of products or services helps reduce dependency on a single income source. This approach safeguards my revenue if one program underperforms.

I like to see my business like an octopus with several arms. Each arm is a unique revenue stream non dependent on the others. That way, if one arm happens to be cut off, the others will remain active while I build a new arm again.

Should you jump on every platform? Absolutely, the more places you can be present the better for brand recognition.

However, I’d suggest you work smart and automate publishing your content as much as possible. The worst thing you could do is to get stuck within the rat wheel of content creation.

Building trust with my audience is paramount. I ensure transparency by disclosing my affiliate relationships clearly.

This honesty fosters trust and credibility with my readers, making them more likely to follow my recommendations.

This is also a legal requirement to have any affiliate links on your website disclaimed and shared.

I continuously test different strategies and affiliate products to see what resonates best with my audience.

Data-driven optimization helps me refine my approach and maximize my earnings over time.

Try to remove any emotional attachment to a product. What you want is to find your “winning product” and then find the next one to grow your income potential.

Adobe Firefly: AI art generator

Firefly is the new family of creative generative AI models coming to Adobe products, focusing initially on image and text effect generation. Firefly offers new ways to ideate, create, and communicate while significantly improving creative workflows.

Adobe has now included the Adobe Firefly technology into their Adobe Express application and also the latest Photoshop beta.

This is a huge time saver for social media marketers to be able to create content for multiple platforms in a matter of 2 clicks inside a single project and export them all at once!

Thanks to the new Firefly technology you can now do the following:

1. Text to image - generate images from a detailed text description

2. Text effects - Apply styles and textures to text with a text prompt

3. Remove background

Photoshop beta

One thing I have hated about Photoshop is how complicated it is to use. You need to know this software by heart to be able to use it and I personally do not have the time and patience to learn it.

So, I have been using it for specific tasks only like removing objects or creating mock-ups for my print store.

However, Adobe has released a beta version of Photoshop that uses the Firefly features. Meaning that you can now select specific areas of a photo, add a prompt and what you asked for will magically appear or disappear on your photo.

This is mind-blowing and it will push the boundaries of digital photography going forward.

The main ways I see how to use it as a photographer is for the following actions:

• Remove an object from the photo

ChatGPT is an amazing tool you can use to run your business.  I mostly use the free version.

The biggest mistake people make is just asking simple questions.

However, one thing to remember about how AI works is that it needs to be programmed to provide you with custom answers. Meaning, the more data you provide the better results you will get.

So, rather than you asking the questions, let the AI asks you the question on a specific topic of your choice and look at it to give you more tailored answers.

Here are a few prompts examples that I have used:

Once you start getting familiar with the way ChatGPT works, you can start creating these kind of more detailed prompts to give you more custom tailored answers.

What I love about it is that the answers provided are never the same and it literally takes only a few minutes to generate a social media calendar compared to hours in the past.

Overall, these AI-powered tools have helped me save a lot of time and streamline my content creation process. As AI continues to improve, I'm excited to see what other content-generation tools will be developed to make content creation even easier and faster.
