Tumblr has become a fertile petri dish for some of the web’s most contagious content and has a fascinatingly wide demographic profile. There is no question that social media professionals should not ignore this growing microblogging platform.

You’ll find an interesting infographic below on some of the rare numbers Tumblr is working with.

Hubspot recently decided to take a quick look at the relationship between exclamation points in tweets and retweets (and clicks).

They used a dataset of more than 2 million link-containing tweets sent by accounts with at least 1,000 followers and found something interesting….

Tweets with exclamation points got more retweets-per-follower, but fewer clicks-per-follower.

The telling infographic can be found below.

As you know, Facebook contests have become a huge part of social media in the last year or so, especially as a vehicle for brands trying to increase their digital footprint by implementing loyalty programs.

Here is the problem – a huge percentage of these contests fall short in one way or another. From failing to follow Facebook guidelines to ineffective calls to action, not following with a good promotion, or even not having clear instructions on how to participate can lead to a confused follower.

The Infographic below by Shortstack outlines all the elements you should consider when planning your next contest – designing the Facebook App for it, and a few tips on how to promote it.
