Because I am certifiably insane, I went to Walmart last night. It wasn't horrendously crowded because I went at my secret time: 5:30 p.m. (It's amazing how calm the place is at this time - I think it's because people are actually eating dinner before they return - things start picking up again an hour later.) So I bought all this stuff for the Big Dinner and headed home with twice as much as I needed because I have this phobia called Oh-No-We-Need-[fill in the blank]-To-Make-Aunt-Myrtle's-Three-Bean-Fruitcake-And-All-The-Shops-Are-Closed!-ism. That, and they were having a killer sale on the yogurt that me and Gigi and Puddin' like. (Have you ever seen a cat fight over yogurt? Come to our house and see what happens when you crack open a container of Yoplait Whips! Key Lime Pie - it's the only thing that makes Puddin' stick her paw into your plate.) I got home...

Well, well, well. Here we are again. The day before Christmas Eve. Once again, I have managed to underestimate the amount of time it takes to do even the simplest of tasks. Some of this is not my fault, though! For instance, can someone please, please explain to me why on any other day of the year I can wrap a present in under three minutes, but yesterday it took eight minutes? And there are still 24 presents left to go. Gift bags started looking very attractive to me... until I actually went out and got some. I came home to find that I had no tissue paper or curly ribbon to stick in them. Terrific. Seventy-eight minutes into my gift-wrapping session, and I've wrapped exactly one present! It's a new personal low. And then there's the whole mailing fiasco. Expect a big HO-HO-HO! sometime in, say... oh... February. Thank...

Between all the business of putting together and tracking the Prince Froggy Scavenger Hunt AND organizing the first ever blog hop by Hero Arts AND the document deadline at my job AND, you know, CHRISTMAS MADNESS in general, I'm a wee bit knackered. I want to thank a number of people today. I would have done this before, but see paragraph #1. First of all, I want to thank everyone at Hero Arts for being so incredibly wonderful to work with. For the hop and the hunt, my main partner in crime was Tami Hartley. Tami is friendly, fun, reasonable, and very kind - and those are her weak points! I received lavish words of encouragement, praise, and appreciation for my efforts from this wonderful woman - and from all the Hero Arts women.
Hello, Hoppers!!!! Welcome to my blog and thank you for dropping by! I'm honored to be a part of such a fantastic undertaking! You're probably noticing by now that the 2010 Hero Arts collection is as hot as a Yule Log. I had a wonderful time playing with these stamps and can't wait to get my hands on so many more of them! The cards I created for today are very simple and fast to make because that's the way I roll this time of year - and I bet you do, too. I love this cling stamp! SUPPLIES: Stamps: *NEW* Hero Arts CL165: Silhouette Bells and CL278; Ranger Distress Embossing Ink; Ranger embossing powder; American Crafts ribbon; Mark Richardson pearls. This card looks much better in person because you can see the wash of Stickles on the petals (kind of washed out here). Supplies: Stamps: *New* Hero Arts CG141...

Yowza! Have these last two weeks been intense! I had to postpone last week's Wednesday Wonder because I was up to my ears in activities. (This hasn't actually changed, but one can only go Wonder-less for so long!!!) Part of what has kept me so busy is all the action at the Hero Arts Blog. If you're reading this, you're probably a stamping enthusiast; therefore, you also probably know that the 2010 catalog and collection is scheduled to premiere nationwide this Friday, December 18th. (If by some chance you've been hiding under a rock and don't know about the 2010 release, please join us in our collective mass hysteria of anticipation and let the jumping-up-and-down commence forthwith!) A great deal of fun and excitement have been shared thus far on the HA Blog, including a little brain child I'm rather proud of hatching - a sort of Easter egg hunt...
