Plot: This is typical Hamilton. Gorgeous teenage girls and dreamy photography. I must disagree with one of the comments from another poster saying there is no nudity in the film. I have to say I don't think the plot or the acting are the strong points of Hamiltons movies. It does feel sometimes like a voyeuristic excuse to present beautiful young women in varying degrees of nudity. This may be quite transgressive of western (specially American) taboos, which equate nudity to porn. Overall a quite unique film. Plot: Sculptor Paul meets a former great love again after a long time -- but is much more impressed by her 15 years old daughter Laura, who looks now like her mother when Paul was in love with her. Laura likes him very much too, but her jealous mother prevents any further contact. She allows him to make a sculpture of Laura, but only from photos.

David Hamilton established his name as a fashion photographer through the still, dreamy soft focus images of young girls, usually portrayed in muted colours, for which he has become famous. At some point he appears to have decided that this experience was all he needed to produce great movies, and he started to direct films that characteristically show all the same features as his fashion images. Unfortunately these were not generally well received and some critics have suggested that he has only a rudimentary appreciation of how to blend successive still images into an ongoing movie sequence. Personally I greatly enjoy his still fashion photography and this enjoyment is sufficient for me to also appreciate his films - overlooking any faults in their dynamics. His best known film is probably "Bilitis", a study of a young girl coming of age, but my preference is for "Laura", a film about a young girl modeling for a sculptor who is blinded in a fire. We can, I hope, ignore comments on the IMDb database which suggest that there is something sinister in Hamilton's preference for models and actresses who appear very young. In his films his objective is to create a story which has a strong emotional appeal but which is also visually beautiful to watch. My judgment is that Laura achieves this objective superbly. One sequence which haunts my memory as much as any other film sequence I have ever seen; comes towards the end of this film. It shows the sculptor, nearly blinded by the fire, returning to his almost finished sculpture whilst he explores the torso of his model with an extended finger trying to recreate in his mind the beauty that he can no longer see.

My recommendation would be to watch this film, which is not readily obtainable today, as soon as any opportunity arises. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0079449/

Plot: August, 1963; Alice, 14, an only child, and physically well developed, is home for vacation. She's moody, silent, keeps a diary, and explores tactile sensations with broken eggs, candle wax, ear wax, vomit, urine, blood, and, perhaps, if the summer goes in one very possible direction, semen. Without her underpants, she walks about, rides her bike, and sits on the shore as the tide comes in. She drifts to her father's sawmill and makes eyes at Jim, a 20-something hand with a lean body and a model's face. What will Jim do, and does Alice want to do more than stare and fantasize? Meanwhile, pop music fills the air and the TV screen, and Alice's parents have their own drama.

The auteur took a risk on this one and got screwed for it. But to invalidate it as art, especially in the light of compelling but questionable films such as "Baise Moi," is wrong.

This film is beautiful, well made, very artistic, has great thematic depth and makes a statement. What more are we looking for when we define something as art?

The first clue should be in the title: "A Real Young Girl.' Our culture (male dominant still,) is fascinated with sexualizing what are in our cultural context, inappropriately young females, that is, pubescent, underaged, or more gracefully put "blossoming." This is a complex issue not for discussion here, but the point is, artistic treatments of this subject have been predominantly male. So a "Real Young Girl" may be a statement indicating that the director is going to show you early adolescent female sexuality as it truly is, from someone who has experienced it first hand, and not as it is eroticized by male artists.

I think a big point of this film is that it is not pleasant and not easy, not fun or romantic, but painful, confusing, and filled with difficult feelings and disgust.

While the film is beautiful and leaves one with a not unpleasant feeling (it's a good film, the ending is abrupt and funny, but no more so than other great avant-garde or new-wave filmmakers.)

The eroticism can in no way be seen as pornography, though. Despite the explicitness of its photography (of the vagina especially,) there is no actual sex, and these explicit scenes are mixed with other aspects that open them to complex interpretation. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0135024/

Plot: Illegal immigrants from mainland China are smuggled into Hong Kong. They are captured by a gang, then raped, tortured, and murdered.

The "lost souls" of this cinematic bad dream are a ragged group of male and female refugees who find themselves shackled in a makeshift prison run by a bisexual warden and his rape-loving cohorts. The women, in particular, are subjected to a Marquis de Sade-approved catalog of abuse and torture. The male of the species doesn't get off lightly, either; one character is graphically sodomized with an intensity that is rare for any Hong Kong film, let alone one greenlit by Run-Run Shaw (bless his adventurous hide!).

There is a surplus of lurid nudity (I'm not complaining, mind you) and much bloodshed and general nastiness. Everything is lovingly lensed in appropriately grotty locations and Mous never gets shy about his more extreme depictions or the sexualization of the abuse. In fact, it's quite clear that Mous revels in the sadistic excesses of this less-than-cheerful exercise and I, for one, respect him for it.

This movie is great for Czech people, because they can see some stars naked there. She would never show her body anymore so there is an opportunity to see what she has to offer in this movie. Therefore I gave 9/10 as native Czech, but for the rest of the world it is 1/10. ;)It is now sold here in Czech republic for less than 2USD which is a price I would consider more than adequate. Questions of arranged marriages, relationships between younger girls and older men and other difficult moral and social questions criss cross this this movie as we are mesmerised by the beauty and near perfect logic of the proceedings. Dangerous too because we are forced to question the basic freedom of choice we take for granted and hold so dear and also have to question the very basis of true love and happiness. Does fate deal the cards as we reach the crossroads or is it all just a state of mind? Plot: Donald F. Glut is one of several indie horror directors' out there, who although has yet to make a great film, has shown flashes of promise, and with a bigger budget could potentially do some big things. As it is, this film is a soft core movie, and has to be judged on it's titillation factor first. I can happily report that Orgy delivers the goods when it comes to the T and A, and girl on girl coupling. The three actresses' were unique from one another which is nice for those like myself who value variety. You have Glori- Anne Gilbert, who is the classic blonde bombshell staple you see in most nudie films, and she is definitely not going to disappoint, you also have Eyana, and Kennedy among others who all contrast well with Glori in the sex scenes. This is a true soft core romp, so the hot scenes eat up the majority of the running time, as it should, however it's a rare thing that a person doesn't fast forward to the good parts in this genre, and I can honestly say I was entertained enough to watch this one straight through. The sets are great for the low budget, and the makeup effects work was also surprisingly well done. It maintained the feel of the genre, without sacrificing what you all want to see. Now don't expect a great horror movie, the acting is solid, and everything looks good, but this is still basically late night material you watch by yourself on a cold winters night. It was great to see Spanish horror icon Paul Naschy, in a short but memorable role, as well as Count Gore De Vol, who hams it up for the camera. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0379226/

The reason I give it ten points out of ten is that it has the incredibly sexy and talented Nicholas Clay in it. He plays Oliver Mellors, the gamekeeper of an estate, that is having an affair with the lady of the house. She is married but her husband cannot do his husbandly duties because he came back from World War 1 in a wheelchair. She is an upper class rich woman while he is considered low class and poor. She doesn't work and in the beginning tends to her husband until he decides to get a caretaker for himself. This leaves her with time on her hands to wander the grounds of her estate where she comes upon Mellors nude and bathing himself by the chicken coop. She lusts after him and they strike up a relationship although rocky at first. The have a passionate affair. I won't reveal the ending. Darian Crane is perhaps one the best soft core erotic performers around, and if her scenes are simply girl/girl, or guy girl, she turns on just as a hot performance in both. She is very beautiful, and deserves to be allowed to carry a movie on her own. She has in this flick a great comedic timing, as does the star Misty Mundae, who's a great escape from the generic Hollywood starlets with fake chest (i.e. Paris Hilton). She, Crane, and AJ Kahn are all natural looking females who don't need much help from the make up department. If any movie out of the Hollywood cookie cutter needed to be Lampooned it is the overblown, over hyped Lord of the Rings series. The movie is fitfully funny, and just as erotic.
