1. Wallpapers:

They slow your whole system down, so if you're willing to compromise, have a basic plain one instead!

2. Drivers:

Update your hardware drivers as frequently as possible. New drivers tend to increase system speed especially in the case of graphics cards, their drivers are updated by the manufacturer very frequently!

3. Minimizing:

If you want to use several programs at the same time then minimize those you are not using. This helps reduce the overload on RAM.

4. Boot Faster:

The 'starting Windows XP' message on startup can delay your booting for a couple of seconds. To get rid of this message go to c:\ and find the file Msdos.sys. Remove the Read-Only option. Next, open it in Notepad or any other text editor. Finally, go to the text 'Options' within the file and make the following changes: Add BootDelay=0. To make your booting even faster, set add Logo=0 to remove the Windows logo at startup.

5. Restart only Windows:

When restarting your PC, hold down Shift to only restart Windows rather than the whole system which will only take a fraction of the time.

6. Turn Off Animations:

Go to Display Settings from the Control Panel and switch to the Effects Tab. Now turn off Show Windows Content While Dragging and Smooth Edges on Screen Fonts. This tip is also helpful with Windows XP because of the various fade/scroll effects.

7. Faster Start-Menu Access:

Go to the Start menu and select Run. Now type Regedit and hit Enter. The Registry Editor will appear on the screen. Now, open the folder HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop. You should see a MenuShowDelay value. If you don't then do the following: right click on a blank space in the right pane and select New\String. Change the name in the new value to MenuShowDelay. Now that we have the MenuShowDelay value, double click on it and enter 0 in the value data field. This sets the start menu delay to 0 milliseconds.

8. Resolutions:

If you are willing to do anything for faster performance from your PC, then try lowering your display resolution. The lower it is, the faster your PC.

9. Turn off Active Desktop:
Go to your Display Properties and switch to the Web tab. Uncheck View My Active Desktop As a Web Page. Since the Active Desktop option under Windows uses a lot of system resources, this option can have a dramatic effect on the speed of the whole system.

10. Defragment Often:
Data is physically arranged on the drive so that applications will load faster.

Goto COMMAND.COM by typing COMMAND in RUN box.

ping youtube.com

and hit ENTER
(Here i would like to go to youtube.com, you can add which ever site you want.)
After hitting ENTER some words will be displayed and there will be the ip address of the site within brackets beside site address. Copy that and paste in your browser and enjoy. To copy read this.

The above trick may not work on some Computers.

2. By ULTRASURF tool

Here is a cool tool that unblocks the websites.

All the things we have used in this session will be stored in temporary folder of the system which leads to slow down PC after many hours of use and it will be really disgusting if so..

Here is a small and a handy trick which automatically deletes the temporary files and keeps your PC clean and fast..!

This is done by tweaking Group Policy Editor which is available only for Win XP Pro..

Follow my commands:

Goto RUN and type GPEDIT.MSC
You will be opened with Group Policy Editor. Now navigate as below

Computer Configuration => Administrative Templates => Windows Components => Terminal Services => Temporary Folders.

No here in the right pane below click on standard if it is set to extended else no need of it..

Now you will be finding 2 options in which one is "Do not delete temp files on exit" , you will seeing that beside the name it is showing as NOT CONFIGURED.
Now open it by double clicking and select DISABLED option and click Apply.

how to change the START button text and apply your own..

I part

For this you need an important tool called Resource Hacker. Download it from here.

Now go to path C:\Windows\ and now copy explorer.exe to any other place in hard drive and rename it as any other file.

Open Resource Hacker and click on File => Open and now browse for the file you copied.

Now in the left panel go to String table and then 37 and now click on 1033.

Now in the right panel find START and edit it and write what ever you want to displayinstead of ~~START~~.

And now click on COMPILE SCRIPT in the right panel.

Then now save it (Ctrl+S)..

And copy the file to C:\Windows\ directory.

This trick is not known by many users. You can create your own Welcome note on your Windows at every startup. Let me guide you..

This is a small Registry trick..

Goto Registry Editor by typing REGEDIT in RUN dialogue box.
Navigate as

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system

Now in the right side panel find the name legalnoticecaption if it is not found then right click and select new String value and name it as legalnoticecapiton, Now right click on the name and select Modify.

Now at the space below Value data type the text what you want it to be the title of the Welcome note.

And next find the name legalnoticetext, if not found as above create a new string valueand name it as legalnoticetext, Now right click on the name and select Modify.

Now at the space below Value data type the text what you want to show in theWelcome note window.

And now close the registry and restart your system and you will see a Welcome note saying the text you filled at every startup...

Just like a street address determines the recipient of a letter, an IP address (Internet Protocol address) is used to identify computers on the Internet.

When your computer sends a request, such as a Google query, it tags the request with its IP address in order for the response to be sent back to your computer -- just like a return address on a letter. IP addresses are sequences of numbers that are usually displayed in readable notations, such as 172.16.254.1 (for IPv4) and 2001:db8:0:1234:0:567:8:1 (for IPv6).

IP address uniquely identifies your computer among all computers on the Internet.
There are, however, several network configurations that may cause to receive an IP address that differs from the one assigned to your computer. For example, if you have a home network or a corporate network, devices are usually assigned "internal" IP addresses by a Network Address Translator (NAT) located within your router or modem. The NAT hides the internal IP addresses from websites, making the entire home network appear to outside computers to have a single, "external" IP address. In this case, we will show you the external IP address assigned to your home. Other network configurations, such as proxies, can also cause the IP address received by Google to differ from the actual IP address of your computer.

Gmail’s new look

Back in July we showed you a preview of Gmail's new look, and we’ve been working this summer to make even more updates and improvements. Today, we’re giving you an in-depth look at the new design. If you like what you see, over the next few days you’ll be able to switch to the new look by clicking on Switch to the new look in the bottom-right of Gmail.

Streamlined conversations
Conversation view has been completely redesigned to help you read through your email threads. You’ll now see profiles pictures for your contacts, so it’s easier to keep track of who said what. We also stripped out as much as possible so you can focus on communicating with your friends and colleagues.

Elastic density
We know that you use Gmail from a variety of screen sizes and devices, so now the spacing between elements on the screen will automatically change based on the kind of display you’re using. If you prefer a denser view all the time, you can change your density manually in the Settings menu.

New HD themes
Themes have been completely rebuilt to enable us to bring you a new set of beautiful high resolution themes with imagery provided by iStockphoto. We've updated most of the old favorites as well and your theme will be automatically carried over to the new look. Go to the Settings menu to take another look at themes and choose the one that fits you best.

Smarter navigation
The navigation panel on the left keeps your labels and chat contacts in view at all times. It's also more customizable: you can resize the labels and chat areas if you want to see more, or hide the chat area entirely via the chat icon in the lower left. You can also use the arrow keys to navigate around the interface.

Better search
Click the dropdown in the search box to see a new advanced search panel, which makes it easier and faster to find exactly what you're looking for. You can use the same panel to create a filter from any search in just a few clicks.

We’re excited to finally share Gmail’s new look with you. We’ll be bringing these changes to everyone soon, but if you’d like to make the switch right away, we’re rolling out a Switch to the new look link in the bottom-right of Gmail over the next few days.
