Paypal has released a new version of iPhone app that allows iPhone users to login to their Paypal account and perform various tasks. The new version of Paypal app will allow iPhone users to make online transactions (PayPal tied up with Bump Technologies to offer this feature) securely, an easy way to split bills, calculate tips and instantly request contacts to pay their share of money. This new iPhone app will bring more productivity, surely.

Tata Docomo, one of the youngest telecom service providers in India has announced a new and innovative “Daily Plan” for it’s customers. With a growing number of mobile phone users in India, network carriers are using various promotional methods to grab more and more user base. The Tata Docomo Daily Plan targets the youth users as it has been designed to suit the daily needs of the subscribers and the provide the convenience of activating and deactivating plans any day, from the handset itself.

Under Tata Docomo daily plan, users will get various tariff features such as Talkathon, Night Birds, GPRS, World Calling and Entertainment just by dialing *141# from their mobile handsets.

Tata Docomo Daily Plan Details

Talkathon plan: Under this plan users can make 30 minutes call to any local Tata Docomo number for just Rs 5. Users can also make calls to any other network for 30 minutes at just Rs. 12 and 30 minutes local or national calls for just Rs. 14 only.

Night Birds plan: Tata Docomo night bird plan gives the option to make make calls to any local Tata Docomo number for 60 minutes just for Rs. 5. Users can use GPRS plan and download up to 10MB data for free at Rs. 5. For international usage, the World Calling offers 10 minutes to USA/Canada at Rs. 20, 5 minutes to USA/Canada at Rs. 10 and 3 minutes to Gulf countries at Rs. 20.

Entertainment plan: This plan allows users to listen to 15 minutes of music just for Rs. 5 and get cricket updates for Rs. 5 per day.

Tata Docomo daily plan will remain activated till 12 midnight on the day on which the subscriber pays while in case of the night plan the expiry of the pack will be 12 midnight on the next day. Subscribers can activate multiple plans in a day and it just takes 5 minutes to get the desired plan activated.

Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) Announced: Not Compatible with Windows XP

At MIX10 event Microsoft made an official announcement that they are working on a better web browser and they will launch it soon as Internet Explorer 9. Microsoft proudly described few of the features that users can expect from next Windows default browser, IE9. Internet Explorer 9 is not going to support Windows XP and this is of course a very bad sign for Windows XP users. May be Microsoft is growing up, technically, and they want their users to get upgraded to match their grow.

Internet Explorer 9 will support HTML5 video, new-fangled web technologies like CSS3 and SVG2. As per the announcement, IE9 will be the fastest web browser ever in the whole IE series, and they really had to work on the browsing speed in order to survive in the era of Firefox, Chrome and Opera.

First developer preview of Internet Explorer 9 is available for free download today at Microsoft website.

Google Adsense to Serve Ads from Google Certified Ad Networks

Bringing a revolution to the way Google Adsense works, Google is going to allow third party ad networks to serve ads on various publisher’s content network through Adsense. They have launched a new capability in AdSense that will allow third party advertisers from Google certified ad networks to compete with Adwords publishers to serve ads on publishers network. So, what will be the impact? Well, we may expect a better CPC rate, varieties of advertisements with maximum revenue at the end of the month.

“These new capabilities will automatically be enabled for your account, and you’ll see a new section in your Ad Review Center where you can allow or block specific ad networks or all networks except AdWords. Please note that we’ll gradually be adding new ad networks to AdSense accounts over the next few months, so you won’t see any immediate impact on your ads or your earnings.”

Google will still ensure the quality of the ads that appear on AdSense publisher websites through all participating ad networks. Third party ad networks won’t be allowed to collect data from publisher websites and hence they won’t be able to serve interest based advertising solution.

Publishers now can see a new “Allow and Block Google Certified Ad Networks” feature under Adsense Setup >> Ad Review Center. You can easily allow or block third party ad network (like you allow/block normal ads) from there.

Google-certified ad networks from North America and Europe are included presently, while there are plans to make this feature available to other continent or sub-continent ad networks in future.

Opera has officially released the stable version of it’s most popular mobile phone browsers, Opera Mobile 10 and opera Mini 5 for Windows users. These new stable versions does not include any new features but some old bugs are fixed while stability, compatibility and performance issues are enhanced.

Like always, Opera has also claimed that Opera Mini & Opera Mobile as the fastest browsers on the earth until now. Download Droid Eris Root Image File to Root Droid Eris Android 1.5-2.1

Android smartphones needs to be rooted to perform many tasks and unlock several features or options that were originally locked and restricted by the phone. Even Droid Eris got rooted finally by Dev team and jcase at XDA forums. If you want to get your Droid Eris rooted, you need to follow a simple tutorial and use the Droid Eris root image file. Here is the step by step tutorial on how to do this.

First things first. Download Droid Eris 1.5-2.1 root image for free from androidmobileos. Take a backup of your phone before you start rooting Droid Eris smartphone.

How to Root Droid Eris Android 1.5 – 2.1

Keep the PB00IMG.zip in the root of your sdcard
Backup all important data with Google
Turn off your phone
Turn it on again by pressing ‘power+volume down’ keys simultaneously
Wait till your phone loads PB00IMG.zip
It will ask to press action to update, then press trackball center
It might take up to 15 minutes to boot the first time
Now go through the Google setup wizard
You are done.

If you face any problem after rooting Droid Eris phone such as HTC widgets missing or sense not working, etc, reload the img and repeat steps 3-8 to try the update process again.

To Mount use: mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system

Windows Phone 7 Series Rom Leaked (Build 7.0.0.6077)

Microsoft has demonstrated several new features, specifications and apps of Windows Phone 7 series at MIX 2010 event. According to Microsoft’s announcement at this event, it will allow developers to download Windows Phone 7 development tools and build several applications on it’s platform. Like iPhone and Android phones, Microsoft wants to engage developers to develop various apps, games, etc Windows Phone 7.

While many Windows phone users are wondering if they will be able to upgrade to Windows Phone 7 for free, Microsoft will launch Windows Phone 7 device in the last quarter of this year or in the first quarter of 2011.

There are also rumors that HTC HD2 might not get Windows Phone 7 upgradation. But according to XDA forums, they have managed to perform a code dump of Windows Phone 7 OS, which means that Windows Phone 7 Series ROM is leaked and is now available for free download.

ll2tp, XDA forum member, has extracted the ROM from the device emulator image. However, it can’t be ported to any devices and works on PCs only.
