Thanks to Rosemary for the speaker suggestion of Matt Goldner! He's now on my radar of speakers. Susanna asked what sort of sessions we've done in the past. We've had speakers from Alabama speak on any range of topics, speakers from OCLC, updates on what's going on with SOLINET, etc. This is your meeting - let's make it what you need it to be. I'm taking any and all suggestions so send them in!

Same as Users Group?

I got a question about if Member Forums are the same as Users Groups. They are! We've changed the name and will be upgrading the meetings to be more useful to you participants. Thanks for the question!

Ok, let's talk dates! Your state rep is available most of the month, save for the 9th, 10th, 16th and 17th of September. How about the 3rd and the 24th, one for each end of the state?

Just to put your minds at ease, I wanted to get dates and duties established as a starting point. I won't be needing so much input from y'all until a few months before the meetings.

According to Sylvia and Dana, September looks like a good time for Alabama meetings. Let me ask the state representative for Alabama when she has time available in Alabama and then we'll move forward on where in Alabama y'all would like the meeting held. Be thinking about cities/towns where you'd like to have the meeting. I'm thinking one in the north, one in the south.

Hello to all you folks willing to help plan the SOLINET Alabama Member Forum! This will be our central meeting place to start the planning process. How does everyone feel about a Alabama meeting in September? Or is that a bad time with school starting?

Also, what do you think - should we plan 2 since your state is pretty large or should we just plan to have a centralized meeting?
