Kicking off the show, Nanci highlights what’s new on the blog. Brian noted that one of his favorite baseball writers realized sports and geek fandom are the same thing. Meanwhile, the Waru Express visited Rogue Squadron and laid the smack down on Corran Horn.

In Fixer’s Flash, Nanci kept herself busy by reading Old Man’s War by John Scalzi. She also has been working on her current novel and planning out future writing projects. Of course, there was also the Puppy Bowl, the most important event of the last week. Brian, on the other hand, watched a whole lot of QI and is eagerly anticipating the return of Community to the airwaves.

Deak’s Dirt starts off with Ashley Eckstein revealing upcoming plans for Her Universe products. The Super Bowl happened and there were trailers for geeky films such as Iron Man, Star Trek Into Darkness, Oz the Great and Powerful, World War Z (via clubjade). Billy Dee Williams is attending Dragon*Con.Make-up artist Stuart Freeborn passed away at 98. In the big news, Bob Iger confirms standalone Star Wars films are in the works. Ain’t It Cool News reported a Yoda film while Entertainment Weekly reported Han Solo and Boba Fett films. Meanwhile author Timothy Zahn talked standalone films, along with writing Han Solo, with Hollywood.com.

This week’s Camie’s Concerns takes a look at the confirmation that Star Wars will be getting non-episodic spinoff films and perhaps other projects. Brian and Nanci discuss what they would (and wouldn’t) like to see as well as why this news is good for the fandom and doesn’t mean that Disney is ruining the franchise.

In Fixer’s Flash, Nanci has kept herself busy by reading through I’ve Got Your Number and starting Old Man’s War by John Scalzi. Brian FINALLY finished reading Scoundrels and found the time to read through the latest issues ofAvengers Assemble, Captain Marvel, and Hawkeye. Bria, meanwhile, has been reading all of the Mageworlds novels and working on costuming for Katsucon. Somehow she’s also found time to do work for her geek fashion blog White Hot Room. Emily has also joined the Mageworlds circle and read through the first three books. She also found the time to read Batgirl #16.

Fandom appeared to explode and this week’s Deak’s Dirt attempts to make sense of it. Her Universe released a new set of quote tees just in time for Valentine’s Day. Book of the Sith by Dan Wallace is getting the trade paperback treatment on May 4th.The surprise Star Wars novel? Darth Maul: Lockdown by Joe Schreiber. Over on the film side, the 3D treatments for the remaining Prequel Trilogy have been indefinitely postponed. The big news, however, is that Episode VII finally has a director. Lucasfilm announced late last week that Star Trek andSuper 8 director J.J. Abrams will be taking the lead for the first installment of the Sequel Trilogy. The hosts, Bria, and Emily break down their thoughts on Abrams and what this means for Star Wars.

Camie’s Concerns this week is a roundtable discussion looking at Timothy Zahn’s Scoundrels. Did the somewhat radical departure from typical Expanded Universe conventions and tropes work? Listen in to see what everyone thought of Zahn’s latest addition to the world of Star Wars literature.

In Fixer’s Flash, Nanci finished Scoundrels (while Brian is still reading at his glacially slow pace). She’s also working on her new original novel. Both the hosts went and saw Les Mis and X-Men First Class. Brian also attempted to get Nanci to read a comic by giving her copies of the first three volumes of Astonishing X-Men.

Deak’s Dirt starts with news of a Shakespearean Star Wars novel. Meanwhile, the live Action Series is not dead yet. In the Episode VII rumor mill, Zack Snyder is NOT working on a Star Wars movie! In Expanded Universe news, updateson Rebels and Kenobi hit the interwebs. Ashley Eckstein hinted that a Rogue Squadron product from Her Universe might be on the way. Finally, Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void had its cover revealed!

On this week’s Camie’s Concerns, the hosts took issue with TOR’s article on what books new readers to the Expanded Universe should pick up. Brian and Nanci offer up their suggestions on what novels to pick up based on genre.

Nanci responds to a Damon Lindelof (Star Trek 2009) quote and the hosts delve into why assuming women aren’t into science fiction is condescending. She also reworked her current novel and is getting into the writing swing again. In holiday movies, she went off and saw The Hobbit and Les Mis. Meanwhile, Brian finished the Mageworlds trilogy and took some time to read new issues of Captain Marvel, Hawkeye, and Avengers Assemble. Now he’s finally started Scoundrels. He also got into a new TV series, Once Upon a Time.

Deak’s Dirt is a bit quiet this time around, understandable with the holidays having past by. Star Wars Weekends dates were announced. Brian and Nanci will be in attendance for some of them. EW had a look at 100 episodes of The Clone Wars. The new Legacy writers discussed Ania Solo. In books, Timothy Zahn’s Scoundrels finally released. According to Kathleen Kennedy, there will be an Episode VII announcement coming in January. Brian Wood discussed Pilot!Leia and the new Star Wars comic.

This week’s Camie’s Concerns dives into a pair of articles Brian wrote this week (here and here) and investigates the destructive nature of True Fans and fandom gatekeepers. Just what are true fans and gatekeepers and why is that behavior counter-productive and damaging to fandom? How does the gatekeeper tie into the fallacious Fake Geek Girl meme? Most importantly, what counts as “real” Star Wars?

Wrapping up the show, the hosts field a question in their Ask Us Anything segment.

Deak’s Dirt starts with the Star Trek Into Darkness, Man of Steel, and Pacific Rim trailers. Gail Simone was fired from the Batgirl comics and we’re less than impressed with DC. Details of the new Legacy comic series dropped. In obligatory sequel trilogy news, Sam Jackson says he wants to be in on it. The Hobbit just released!

She’s also been reading through Expanded Universe novels as well as Star Wars fanfic. Shane’s blasted through Redshirts by John Scalzi, read the new Dresden Files book, and has been playing a lot of League of Legends.

In Deak’s Dirt, we kick off with news that Rick McCallum retired from Lucasfilm. Don’t forget to pre-order Winner Lose All, a digital short story by Timothy Zahn that ties into Scoundrels. It’s only $1.99 and comes out December 10. Speaking of the EU, new Legacycomic! Lucas talks his role as creative consultant on Episode VII. As far as who’s directing Episode VII? We still don’t know. The Disney/Lucasfilm buyout was okayed by federal anti-trust regulators. There’s a new Star Trek Into Darkness poster. Harrison Ford showed up in an Ender’s Game picture.

Camie’s Concerns this week takes a look back at the year in geeky entertainment. 2012 had a number of highs (and lows) and the hosts, Shane, and Bria dive in to talk about the nerdy books, films, conventions, and comics this year has given us. The snark is high in this discussion!

Two years ago, Lucasfilm, LEGO, and Cartoon Network released the charming special “The Padawan Menace.” The standalone episode was surprisingly good and extremely funny, despite the somewhat ludicrous setting and the absence of cannon. “The Empire Strikes Out,” while not technically a sequel to “The Padawan Menance,” attempts to carry on this tradition. Brian read through Captain Marvel #2 and thinks that comic readers absolutely need to pick the new series up. He also began the groundwork for his own original book, but most of his time is spent preparing for convention season with Celebration VI and Dragon*Con right around the corner.

Deak’s Dirt begins with news that Raiders of the Lost Ark is coming to IMAX theaters in September. In other film news, Joss Whedon got himself a new deal from Marvel and it’s a dandy. The final Crucible cover was revealed, and it looks pretty much like the old cover. Her Universe revealed their Mara shirt as part of their Celebration VI exclusives.

In this week’s Camie’s Concerns, the hosts talk Celebration VI and what you should expect. They highlight Club Jade’s convention prep posts, an invaluable resource for those who may be attending a con for the first time. In Fixer’s Flash, both Brian and Nanci have been pretty wrapped up with the Olympics. Nanci did find some time to read The Gathering Flame, the prequel to the Mageworlds trilogy. She also finished her Mirax costume! Brian apologized for live-tweeting the US Women National Soccer Team’s match versus Canada. Over the weekend he jumped into Marvel’s Siege comic arc and started reading Mageworlds again. He also spent the latter part of the weekend nervously watching NASA’s seven minutes of terror.

Deak’s Dirt opens with news that Brian and Nanci are thrilled about. X-Wing: Mercy Kill, the long-awaited tenth novel in the series,has hit bookshelves!  In Celebration VI news, badges were revealed, Warwick Davis was confirmed, the We Love Prequels panel is returning, and the full schedule has finally been revealed. The Old Republic was recently confirmed as going free-to-play, but Brian’s unsure if this is good news for the game. Rounding out the news, Brian and Nanci are pumped that NASA successfully landed Curiosity.

This week’s Camie’s Concerns features author and Star Wars fan Bryan Young. The hosts and Bryan talk his writing and filmmaking career, his love of nerd culture, and all sorts of Star Wars related topics. Finally, we bid farewell to pioneer and trailblazer Sally Ride, the first American woman in space.

Camie’s Concerns this week brings us back to the X-Wing retrospective. This time around, the hosts dig into the Wraith Squadron arc and talk the plots and characters as well as examining the impact Aaron Allston’s novels have had on the Expanded Universe. It’s far more than just dogfights and blaster skirmishes.

Mark Hamill was announced for Celebration VI, and there’s a bunch of new casting calls and rumors for Catching Fire.The hosts also take some time to talk Troy Denning’s new novel, Crucible, and go off on a tangent over fans that want Luke, Leia, and Han to die.

This week’s Camie’s Concerns revisits an article featured on the blog a few weeks ago, Rethinking Romance. We brought in Maggie to talk about why she wrote the piece and why she thinks we need to reevaluate our knee-jerk dismissiveness of romance in fiction and literature. The hosts and Maggie also touch on gender issues in fiction.

Deak’s Dirt brings casting updates from Catching Fire. The Dramatis Personae for Mercy Kill was released by Random house, along with anew excerpt featuring Myri Antilles. They also released the cover blurb for Scoundrels. Not content with just that, Random House also wants to record your fan fiction, and the hosts go on a tangent as a result.

In this week’s Camie’s Concerns, the hosts are tackling two topics. First off, they offer advice for those attending Celebration VI and Dragon*Con this year. Later in the segment, they discuss what future Expanded Universe books they expect to hear announced from San Diego Comic Con this week as well as what listeners and readers are hoping to have announced.

On the blog this week, we introduced a new feature we’re calling Cosplay Monday. Each week we’re highlighting some costumers that have gone above and beyond to represent fandom and this week, we’re featuring Sylar and Sheila’s Korra and Tahno costumes. Maggie fired back at a New York Times article taking issue with The Hunger Games and romance in literature. Shane continued the blog’s look back at the X-Wing novels with his retrospective of The Bacta War. Meanwhile, Nanci reviewed Operation Montauk by Bryan Young.

In Fixer’s Flash, Nanci’s been keeping herself busy writing, but still managed to find time to finish reading Operation Montauk and start War of the Seasons by all-around awesome person Janine Spendlove. She also squeezed in time to see Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. It was everything you’d expect from a movie with that title. Meanwhile, Brian kept himself busy by watching Brave, Pixar’s latest film and one he thoroughly enjoyed. If you follow him on Twitter, you might have caught a barrage of Legend of Korra finale related Tweets. He’s also giddy that Futurama is back on the air and has started reading Mageworlds. You can blame Nanci for that.

Deak’s Dirt kicks off with the announcement that the Celebration VI mobile app is now available. Her Universe was busy this week, announcing new lines of Doctor Who and Star Trek shirts. EUCantina sat down with Random House art director Scott Biel to talk about Star Wars cover artwork and the Mara catsuit issue. Another batch of Celebration VI art prints was unveiled earlier this week. In Expanded Universe related news, Choices of One is now available in paperback. If you’re going to be attending San Diego Comic Con, New York Comic Con, or Celebration VI, you’ll have the chance to collect some exclusive swag from Star Wars Books. Finally, another Mercy Kill mini excerpt released. Nanci seemed to enjoy it for some reason.

Our summer X-Wing retrospective continues in this week’s Camie’s Concerns. This time around, Nanci and Brian dig into the Rogue Squadron arc by Michael Stackpole. The hosts break down the characters, plots, settings, and examine the impact these four books have had on the Expanded Universe as a whole. Contrary to what you might think, it’s a surprising amount!

The show concludes on some sad news this week. Over the weekend, the Star Wars community lost blogger and fan Rachael Ambrose. She was a friend to both Brian and Nanci and was a wonderful voice in the fandom. In addition, Rachael was a talented writer. In Fixer’s Flash, Nanci has been busy writing, but managed to find some time to re-watch the Star Trek reboot. She also watched Batman and Robin for a guest appearance on another podcast. One of these films was good. She’s also been reading Operation Montauk by Brian Young. The other was not. Brian finally saw Prometheus and while both the hosts initially enjoyed it, they liked it less and less the more they thought about it. After months upon months of prodding from Nanci, Brian finally read Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor. The hosts launch into a (spoiler filled) impromptu discussion on the book.

Deak’s Dirt starts off with Mercy Kill mini-excerpts. To say the hosts are excited for this book is an understatement. On the things-to-buy front, the X-Wing eBook bundle will be going on sale July 30^th. They quickly go through a bunch of Celebration VI announcements before stopping to discuss an interview Tor conducted with author Karen Miller.

In Fixer’s Flash, Nanci says she recorded an episode of Star Wars Beyond the Films about women in Star Wars. Look for that to go live soon. She also went to see Snow White and the Huntsmen. Verdict? An overwhelming “meh.” The third round of Star Wars Weekends took place and Nanci was once again on hand, meeting author Jason Fry and Erich from Del Rey. Brian, as mentioned, was at Origins over the weekend, but he’s holding off on talking about that until next week.

Deak’s Dirt covers everything from the Les Miserables trailer to E3 news. Kathleen Kennedy is the new Lucasfilm co-chair as George Lucas transitions away from the company. Star Wars 1313 turns out to be a new video game franchise from Lucasarts. A host of Celebration VI guests were announced including Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, and Jake Lloyd. Finally in sad news, legendary science fiction presence Ray Bradbury passed away. Go pick up a copy of The Martian Chronicles to celebrate the life of a genre giant.

This week’s Camie’s Concerns is one the hosts are excited about. Nanci and Brian interview the Expanded Universe’s most prolific author, Aaron Allston. We ask him about his work in with the X-Wing novels as well as his more recent works in Legacy of the Force and Fate of the Jedi. The hosts also ask him the questions you readers and listeners sent in. Let’s just say you should strap in and prepare for funny.

In Fixer’s Flash, Nanci attended another round of Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Most popular character there? Artoo, by a country mile. Nanci also started reading Delirium by Lauren Oliver. She also found some time this weekend to revisit one of her favorite campy 80s science fiction films. But her most important accomplishment? She’s done with the first pat of her first original novel. Meanwhile, Brian went off and saw Men in Black III and enjoyed it, but he’s been preoccupied with getting reading for the Origins Game Fair. He’ll be in attendance for panels conducted by the likes of Bryan Young, Timothy Zahn, Michael Stackpole, and the Origins Guest of Honor, Aaron Allston.

Deak’s Dirt brings news of a new Star Wars video game franchise to be unveiled this week. Nanci gushed about the Clone Wars season five trailer and Brian speculated as to whether or not Seth Green and Matthew Senreich would be bringing news of their secret Star Wars project to Celebration VI this year.  Lucasfilm’s Jennifer Heddle conducted an interview with EUCantina and said that ideas for a Leia book are being considered and that if Mercy Kill sells well, more X-Wing novels could wind up on the schedule.

In Deak’s Dirt, the hosts talk about the Bioware staff layoffs and the struggles of The Old Republic. They also spend a bit of time geeking out over SpaceX’s successful launch earlier this week. Brian discusses the latest statements from Rick McCallum about the live-action Star Wars television series, suggesting that maybe they need to scale back on the special effects and visuals to get the show into production. Finally, both the hosts are thrilled that Palpatine himself, Ian McDiarmid, will be in attendance at Celebration VI.

Kicking off the show, we highlight what’s new on the blog. We asked you to tell us what kind of attractions you would like to see at a Star Wars theme park and you delivered some delightful suggestions. New blogger Maggie posted a spoiler-free review of the Avengers, Marvel’s latest entry into their successful film franchise. We’re not jealous that she was in the UK to see it a week early or anything. Meanwhile, we’re holding a contest. We’re sick of Mara’s awful catsuit, so we’re asking costumers and artists to replace it with something more appropriate.

In Fixer’s Flash, Nanci’s been reading a neat young-adult novel called Across the Universe and is looking forward to completing the series. She’s also been rewatching firefly, something Brian ought to do. She also announced that she’s launched a new blog of her own devoted to her writing projects. Go check it out! Brian’s been keeping himself busy with Marvel’s comics and a rewatch of their films leading up to the Avengers. Unfortunately, he’s been too busy with midterms to do much beyond that. Boo midterms.

Over in Deak’s Dirt, the hosts talk about their jealousy over Disneyland Paris getting a big Star Wars themed expansion. Build one in Orlando! The Avengers releases this Friday, and if you guessed Brian already has tickets to two different showings, you would be correct. Her Universe has teased some new products that Nanci is excited about, expect an official announcement soon. In sad news, Joel Goldsmith, composer for the Stargate franchise, passed away at 54. John Jackson Miller tweeted that a Secret Project presumably from Dark Horse will be announced soon. Could it be the original trilogy era project Dark Horse hinted at during C2E2? Toymaker Sideshow introduced a new line of Star Wars statues they dub ‘Mythos.’ Finally, Star Wars Books released a teaser for the upcoming Timothy Zahn novel ‘Scoundrels.’

This week’s Camie’s Concerns is one the hosts are thrilled to present. Tosche Station Radio interviews their first ever guest, author Michael A. Stackpole. Mike and the hosts talk about his contributions to the Star Wars Universe, writing advice such as his 21 Days to a Novel program, and his projects outside of the Galaxy Far, Far away.  We’re incredibly grateful Mike took the time to come onto the show and encourage you to check out his other works at his website. In Fixer’s Flash, Nanci’s been enjoying Once Upon a Time and has gotten knee-deep into a brand new book. She also finished Fate of the Jedi: Apocalypse and does she ever have thoughts about the book. Brian delves into a little more detail about Cabin in the Woods and gushed about it*.

*Which is saying something since he’s the world’s biggest horror movie wimp.

Deak’s Dirt starts out with the news that Lionsgate Studios has officially named Francis Lawrence the director for Catching Fire, sequel to the blockbuster Hunger Games. Jason Fry has released more end notes from Essential Guide to Warfare. In other EU news, Scourge by Jeff Grubb hit bookshelves this week. Nanci’s already got her copy waiting on her Kindle. Meanwhile, The Old Republic appears to be losing subscribers.

This week in Camie’s Concerns, the hosts finally dive into their Fate of the Jedi retrospective. As with every bit of the EU, there’s some elements they loved and elements they didn’t. Both Brian and Nanci greatly appreciated the efforts that went into crafting several new characters, but they also take issue with multiple loose ends and philosophical concepts that seem at odds with the source material.

Starting off the show, Nanci and Brian highlight some new articles up at the official blog. Shane’s got a look at what Scoundrels could mean for the Expanded Universe moving forward. Deak’s Dirt covers a lot of ground this week. Gary Ross out as the director of Catching Fire? J.K. Rowling’s upcoming adult novel gets a name and she’s working on a Potter encyclopedia. Anthony Daniels confirmed a sequel to the Padawan Menace is forthcoming. Over at C2E2, Dark Horse announced a new OT-era project is in the works written by one of Dark Horse’s biggest talents. Let the speculation begin! John Jackson Miller’s Lost Tribe of the Sith will be getting a new trade paperback format as well as brand new maps!

This week in Camie’s Concerns, the hosts talk about an io9 article entitled the 10 Ways Self-Hating Fans Make Genre Entertainment Worse. Now there’s an inflammatory title! Fandom is great, but sometimes we need to behave a little better than we do. The hosts delve into the article and discuss why it’s important to avoid these kinds of actions.

Wormie’s Works features a pair of light, fun Star Wars alternate universe fics and an excellent multi-fandom cosplayer.

In Fixer’s Flash, Nanci went and saw Titanic in 3D and said it’s the best post-conversion 3D film out there. Of course, Brian’s a little more excited about the Prometheus trailer that showed before the movie started. Nanci is also (re)reading The Seasons of Passage and heartily recommends it. She also wrote a guest post over at Club Jade talking about fan fiction, a topic we’ll be visiting in today’s episode. In preparation for the Avengers next month, Brian has begun his Marvel films re-watch. More importantly, baseball season is back and he can geek out over advanced statistics! But something that will actually interest most listeners, Brian’s also posted the first part of his Fate of the Jedi series review over at the blog.

Over in Deak’s Dirt, Nanci talks about the guests expected to attend Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood studios. Star Wars Books announced that there’s going to be a third Essential Guide to Characters in the future and are outlining it as we speak. In more adorable news, Jeffrey Brown’s Darth Vader and Son is due out on May 4^th. Ashley Eckstein also teased that she’ll be revealing some new merchandise on the same day.

Camie’s Concerns this week revisits the topic of fan fiction and aims to tackle misconceptions about it. With the release of 50 Shades of Grey, media attention has focused on small aspects of fanfic and Brian and Nanci want to set the record straight. They discuss a great article by Lev Grossman at Time Entertainment that discusses the importance of fan fiction both to fans and the fandom itself. Both the hosts discuss what draws them into fan fiction, why they write it, and how they’ve benefitted from it.

The show kicks off with an announcement: TSR has a new official blog! Brian, Nanci, and mutual friend Shane have launched Tosche-Station.net, a new site where the staff will write and snark about the news and issues in geek culture. With a heavy dose of Star Wars, of course. We’d like to thank Roqoo Depot for being our home for the first ten episodes and their help in promoting the podcast. Over in Fixer’s Flash, Nanci’s got a new reading obsession: the Mageworld series. She’s also been re-reading one of her favorite books, The Season of Passage. Look out, but she’s also released an April Fool’s Day fanfic based on Luke’s sordid love life. Brian was the guest on the Star Wars Underworld podcast this week where he talked about the Expanded Universe tying into The Clone Wars. A few days ago Brian finished up Marvel’s Civil War. Lesson: don’t get attached to any of these characters lest they break your heart. Both the hosts saw The Hunger Games for a second time and are considering a third viewing.

Deak’s Dirt has a little bit of everything this week. First and foremost, Star Wars: Essential Guide to Warfare hit bookshelves this week. Verdict? Buy. Buy it now. James Arnold Taylor and Ashley Eckstein were announced to be the hosts of Star Wars Weekend at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The hosts get had a laugh at Del Rey’s April Fool’s Day prank. They even got Tim Zahn to contribute. In actual EU news, Star Wars Books released sneak peeks of the Essential Reader’s Companion and an excerpt from Zahn’s highly anticipated novel Scoundrels.

In Camie’s Concerns, the hosts take a look at how authors have impacted the Expanded Universe. Among the authors examined are Timothy Zahn, Kevin J. Anderson, Michael A. Stackpole, Aaron Allston, Karen Traviss, John Ostrander and Jan Duursema, Drew Karpyshyn, and Troy Denning. Shaping the EU can be a good thing, but is it possible to go too far? Brian and Nanci aim to answer that question.

Things get meta this week on Tosche Station Radio as Brian and Nanci dive into some of the great literary devices and themes that define Star Wars.

First up on Fixer’s Flash, Nanci plugs a Clone Wars season four roundtable she participated on over at Club Jade. She also got a glimpse at the upcoming Essential Guide to Warfare, which made Brian very jealous. Brian, on the other hand, is back into reading Marvel’s Civil War comics and is waiting for things to go horribly, horribly wrong with all of the characters he has grown fond of. He also admits he’s a sucker for musicals. Both the hosts briefly discuss some fanfiction projects that they’re in the process of wrapping up.

Deak’s Dirt is very much a multi-fandom affair this week. First on the docket is news of Timothy Zahn’s upcoming Han Solo novel finally getting a name: Scoundrels. If you heard a loud noise from the direction of Seattle over the weekend, it’s because Avatar: The Legend of Korra hit the web early with a pair of episodes. Brian’s particularly excited about the lead character, thinking she might be emerging on the entertainment scene at just the perfect time. Last, but certainly not least, The Hunger Games debuted over the weekend to the tune of $152 million, the third biggest opening weekend release of all time and the biggest gross for a non-sequel film. Take that, Twilight.

This week’s discussion topic on Camie’s Concerns revolves around one of Brian’s favorite websites in the entire universe, TV Tropes. What are tropes you might ask? They’re familiar devices and conventions we all see in the fiction and entertainment we enjoy. Nanci and Brian attack five notable tropes that have appeared in Star Wars and discuss some other fandoms these familiar and enjoyable themes have appeared in:

Kicking off the show in Fixer’s Flash, Nanci and Brian discuss the finale of The Clone Wars’ fourth season. Don’t look now, but Nanci might be shipping Obi-Wan and Asajj Ventress. Nanci has finished her re-read of Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor and is jumping into At the Queen’s Command by Michael Stackpole. She’s also pretty enamored with the trailers for Snow White and the Huntsman and Prometheus. Last week Brian went and saw Disney’s John Carter and proclaims that it is decidedly okay-ish. He’s also still wrapped up in the Marvel comics universe, having jumped into Runaways.

There’s a whole lot of news in Deak’s Dirt this week. First and foremost are new The Hunger Games clips that have aired ahead of the movie’s release on Friday. Brian’s really excited about The Legend of Korra getting an April premiere date. Meanwhile, Nanci’s giddy over Her Universe releasing a brand new Star Wars logo tote bag in May. Both of the hosts get ranty over some Expanded Universe tidbits that have slipped from the Fate of the Jedi book tour and interview blitz over the last week. On the other hand, both the hosts* are excited about a few details about the upcoming Timothy Zahn Han Solo novel. Finally, news dropped that Thursday 3/22 would bring a big Expanded Universe related announcement (announcements?). Let the wild mass guessing begin!

*Particularly Brian. We’ll be sure to sedate him next week.

In Camie’s Concerns, Brian and Nanci have noticed there’s going to be a dearth of new Star Wars related entertainment for a while. Solution?
