What a great ending to the third season of Killjoys. Made even more so by the announcement that Killjoys has been renewed for a fourth and fifth season. No more worrying about this show’s fate. We now know it will receive a proper ending.

As for this episode, there was a lot of interesting happenings. Dutch and Aneela seem to have put their grudges aside and have teamed up to take down “The Lady”. I can’t wait until next season to see that.

D’avin, Johnny and Delle Seyah are trapped in that elevator. What’s going to happen to them? And will Delle Seyah go into labour before they get out?

Zeph and Pippin?!? I’m going to have to think about that one.

Pree and Gared got hitched right before the war started. But who is tending the bar?

The only downside to this episode was the confirmation that Alvis is dead. That’s too bad, I’ll miss that Scarback.

As I said, a great way to end the season and make us want seasons 4 and 5 even more.

Welcome, I am so happy that you’ve joined me to discuss season 3 of Killjoys.

This was a great episode with a lot of origin stories revealed. We finally found out what Khlyen and Aneela’s relation to Dutch is. I don’t think anybody guessed that one. We also got to see Dutch and Johnny’s first meeting which was fun.

Zeph is growing on me with each episode. She’ll never be one of the three (for obvious reasons) but she is one of the gang.

And I’m glad that D’Avin has Fancy Lee’s back.

There won’t be a podcast episode next week as I’ll be away at a conference, but send in your feedback anyway and I’ll include it the following week.

This was a fun episode but I think only half of it progressed the overall plot from this season. The story arc with Dutch, D’Avin and Johnny didn’t accomplish anything. We don’t even know if The Nine will support their war or not. The Aneela and Delle Seyah Kendry story, however, gave us lots to question and think about.

Who did Aneela find a way to save? Who was impersonating Khlyen? And what the heck are they doing to Delle Seyah?

Attack the Rack – Killjoys S3E05

This was an action packed episode. Emotions were running at full strength throughout but at the cost of learning anything new in the overall story. The RAC that we know has now been cleansed but at the cost of other RAC ships around the J. We do find out that Aneela is even more cunning than we first suspected. Will she prove too much for Delle Seyah Kendry? And what does Aneela want with D’avin? More and more questions and so few answers this week.

Wow, what an amazing episode. We were given so many answers and yet we still have just as many questions for next season. What is the connection between Aneela and Dutch? Where are Johnny and Clara going? Is Delle Sayah Kendry alive or dead? Will season 3 take us out of the Quad?

It was sad to see so many great characters perish this season, although speculation says a couple of them may be back next year. In this sort of show, who knows?

Killjoys – How To Kill Friends and Influence People – Recap

The episode starts off with Khlyen telling a young Yella a story. A story of a father and his beautiful daughter living in a castle. The story is interjected with flashback scenes of Khlyen and Aneela. Khlyen discovered the green plasma on Arkyn and used it to grow trees to help feed his people.

The fruit from those threes caused strange things to happen to those who ate it. As Khlyen tells the young Yella to remember the stories, we see Aneela running across Arkyn with a green tear running down her face.

Back in the present, Dutch and D’Avin wake the unconscious Johnny who immediately jumps up to go to Pawter’s aid. D’Avin tells his brother that she’s dead. Lucie confirmed it.

On the news feeds, Delle Seyah Kendry is broadcasting a eulogy in honour of Pawter, spewing lies about the dead doctor.

Johnny confides in Dutch that his life was finally happy with Pawter. She tells him that she has his back no matter what he decides to do next. She offers to leave the system with him but he knows they can’t. There’s a war going on and their part in it isn’t over.

The Black Root arrive on the ship to apprehend Khlyen, who walks in behind them and shoots them with darts containing a yellow toxin. At first, nothing happens but they soon collapse to the floor, their plasma draining from them.

Khlyen suggests they join together to save the Quad.

Later, Khlyen tells Dutch that if Aneela ever finds out about her she may kill her. That’s why he gave the dreadnought to Dutch. He explains that there are no young level 6s because their cerebral cortexes can’t take it. Due to her age when infected, Aneela is quite insane.

When she questions about their similarity Khlyen tells her he doesn’t know why the two look alike.

Khlyen explains to the group that the green plasma contains a neuro parasite called Halland. When bonded with a host that person, like him, is no longer human.

He tells them that centuries ago his people offered the Nine a deal. Eventual assimilation or immediate annihilation. Their descendants had 10 generations to suck the wealth out of the Quad to honour the deal. What’s happening in Old Town right now is the beginning of that deal. A silent invasion has begun.

The sole reason the Quad is of interest to his people is the plasma. If they destroy it there will no longer be a reason for them to come. Without the ability to make new soldiers the invasion will be aborted.

Dutch suggests going to Arkyn but it’s surrounded by Black Root cruisers. Khlyen tells them he knows of a source of pure plasma, a parent strain to what’s being used in the Quad. If they destroy it, all the child strains will be destroyed as well.

Khlyen tells them that D’Avin’s visions was of a Scarback raiding party who stole a tree growing in the original plasma pool. Aneela swore to break the attackers and retrieve the tree. Khlyen says if they can find it they can end the war.

Dutch goes to the Scarback’s monastery to ask Alvis about the mystical tree they worship and where it might be kept. According to scripture, 12 monks went to Arkyn and one returned. Whatever he escaped with was taken back by the Devil, who we now know is what they called Aneela. Dutch notices that the ancient scripture pages are riddled with holes and figures out it’s a star chart.

They have Lucy match the star chart to a remote section of space where Khlyen tells them Archive is located. An ultra high-security storage facility.

Khlyen starts laying out a plan but Dutch overrules him saying they’ll do it her way. Archive caters to the elite and she’s a runaway Queen.

On Westerley, Delle Seyah Kendry asks an underling to bring her something that was dug out of the debris in Old Town.

She receives a call from Khlyen telling her the timetable has been moved up. His people are on their way. He tells her she can undergo the procedure once she takes care of a complication, Dutch and her team.

——

At Archive, Dutch, embracing her mantle as Yelena Ardeen asks to set up a vault for her valuables and is taken to the Dej’s office while her “bodyguards” are asked to stay outside. D’Avin and Fancy Lee make short work of the Archive security force and head into the service tunnels and make a connection for Lucy to infiltrate Archive’s systems.

Lucy finds Aneela’s vault and matches Dutch’s DNA to it.

Unfortunately, the two are discovered and pinned down by gunfire. Knowing Fancy Lee is a level 6 and can heal. D’Avin uses him as a human shield to escape.

In the Dej’s office, Dutch’s ruse is discovered and guards are brought in to detain her and Khlyen. She takes on all six of them while Khlyen and the Dej calmly observe.

Once the fight is over She and Khlyen leave to go find Aneela’s vault. Inside it they find the missing tree. But Aneela left a trap for them. Panels in the vault walls open to light in from a nearby sun cooking everything inside.

Outside Archive, two Black Root ships target Lucy as they engage in a game of cat and mouse. Through some fancy flying and some sheer luck, Lucy and Johnny manage to survive the fight.

——

Inside the vault, Khlyen manages to shut the wall panels saving them. Dutch then pours the toxin into the pool of plasma but nothing happens.

Lucy informs them that the toxin could work if combined with human bonded plasma. The only source of which they have is Khlyen. Dutch protests but Khlyen takes the toxin and poisons himself. But not before telling her that that Aneela used the Red 17 experiments to strengthen the bond between plasma and host, creating slaves. That was never his goal. He lived with it until he saw Yella. She was his chance to make things right.

He included her name on the level 6 list as a way to keep her. He knows that Hallen will eventually take over everything so he trained her to survive the merge so he wouldn’t loose her. That was until D’Avin provided another option, being able to set them all free.

With Khlyen’s blood poisoning the parent plasma, all derivatives of it also die. Including everything on Arkyn and the plasma infecting the level 6s like Fancy Lee.

Later, back in Old Town, Dutch, D’Avin and Johnny toast the destruction of the Plasma. Johnny gets up to get the next round. After a talk with Pree he decides to leave.

He meets up with Delle Seyah Kendry after luring her to a fake meeting with Khlyen. After a brief chat, Johnny pulls his gun, shoots her, and walks away.

He heads to Lucy to pack some things before leaving the Quad. Lucy detains him, hurt that he wasn’t going to say goodbye. He tells her that after what he just did he needs to leave before it comes back to bite Dutch and D’Avin.

She lets him go. On his way out he runs into Clara, who Lucy called. The two steal the Black Root ship Khleyn and Fancy Lee had used and head off together to unknown destinations.

Back at the Royal, Fancy informs the others that he’s no longer a 6. D’Avin wonders about Aneela but Dutch knows that her lookalike is still a danger. As she lays out her plans destroy the rest of the plasma, the scene shifts to a massive ship with thousands of support vessels heading for the Quad.

Wow, what a depressing episode. Don’t get me wrong, it was full of excitement and adventure. But the loss of a loved character is never easy to take. What will Johnny do now that Pawter is gone? And what will become of Dele Seyah Kendry?

At least the wall is now down and our main group is back together again to fight whatever will be coming at them in the season finale. I wonder what Khlyen wants to talk to them about. There’s so much to talk about in this episode and I do in the podcast.

This week’s episode was divided down the middle with one story following Dutch, D’Avin and Alvis to Arkyn and another story following Pawter and Johnny in Old Town. Both stories had their good and bad moments as well as some action and slow parts. Out of the two, I prefer the Old Town story because I feel we got some much-needed answers while not revealing everything. Whereas the Arkyn story just left us with more questions.

Killjoys – Full Metal Monk – Recap

The episode begins with Dutch visiting Johnny in Jelco’s cell. The two have a bit of a stand off, with Dutch having difficulty coming to terms with what Johnny did behind her back and Johnny telling her she had her thing and he followed Pawter who has hers.

Dutch calls Pawter to take care of Johnny’s situation and then leaves with matters unresolved.

Pawter arrives and orders Jelco to release Johnny. She threatens him if he doesn’t comply so he lets the Killjoy go. Once the two have left he places a call to Kendry.

She fed up with their meddling and tells him to activate the wall. Jelco is reluctant but follows her orders.

——

Pawter tells Johnny she suspects the wall has to do with execution eugenics, something the company has done before. Contain an area, introduce a biological agent to cull the weak leaving only the strong behind.

They test samples of blood, water and soil but none of them are toxic. Pawter needs to find proof of the conspiracy to show her fellow councilman Arune Hyponia who is meeting her that night.

Pawter realises that nobody in Old Town has lost any weight and asks Pree how the townsfolk are getting food. He tells them that there may be a wall but that doesn’t stop people from smuggling in contraband.

They find Carl, who we last saw at the prison in Old Town. He’s the go-to person for contraband food. Pawter tests his wares but they’re disgusting but clean of toxins. Carl tells them he’s expecting a special shipment soon.

Johnny and Pawter go back to her old office in the Royal to work up a plan to intercept the convoy bringing Carl’s shipment.

Pawter tries on one of the discarded sexer dresses left in her office thinking it might be a good distraction to stop the convoy. What it is, is a distraction for Johnny.

The two of them find it strange that with everything going on they’re feeling happy. The two express their love for each other.

The two are acting as if they’re high on drugs when Arune, Pawter’s councillor friend shows up. He immediately realises something is wrong but is distracted when Pawter tells him they’re going to get proof of the company poisoning the town’s rations.

At this point, Jelco walks in and holds Arune at gunpoint. Johnny and Pawter are so high that they don’t object.

Jelco tells Arune that the wall makes everyone inside happy and complacent unless they have a special inhibitor.

He kills Arune, wipes off the gun and then places it in Pawters hand.

Even under the influence of the wall, Johnny and Pawter tell Jelco that they will stop him and save Old Town. The Company man finds this very amusing.

Jelco takes a photo of them with Pawter holding the gun and dead Arune in the background. He plans on sending it to the other leading families blaming House Simms for Arune’s death.

Later, Pawter and Johnny walk out of the Royal to join in on the joyfulness of the townsfolk. On the monitors, Jelco announces that airdrops of premium rations will be distributed over the next 48 hours putting an end to Old Town’s suffering.

In Old Town, D’Avin explains to Turin about the Level 6s they discovered. The two confront one and the battle is going bad until D’Avin’s uncontrolled power explode the man’s head.

Back on Lucy, Dutch tells D’Avin that she and Johnny have temporarily suspended their partnership until they’re each done with their current quests.

Dutch needs to get to the bottom of Khlyen’s story, who Aneela is, and why he wants Dutch to kill her. To get answers they head to Leith to talk to Olan.

Alvis tells her that Olan is broken, he even tried to kill his brother. Dutch talks to him alone and when she mentions Aneela Olan freaks out, yelling Devil and then starts drawing ancient symbols on the walls.

Olan tells them it’s a map of Arkyn and begs them not to go there. But of course, they do.

On route, D’Avin asks Alvis for advice in controlling his new powers. The monk listens to D’Avin’s exploding eyeballs story and then tells him he should start by not wishing death on someone.

——

On Arkyn the trio discovers one of Khlyen’s safe houses. They enter and it drops deep into the ground, stopping at an old abandoned Red 17 facility.

They make their way through the base and discover a room containing deformed bodies. They realise they were test subjects for the green goo.

They find a wall full of schematics but they can’t make heads or tales of it.

Alvis finds an old monk behind an energy wall similar to the one around Old Town. They deduce that the 10 bodies they found in the other room, plus the body of the Monk they found in the Mossipede mine and this guy behind the wall must be the original 12 Monks from the ancient stories who went to Arkyn to fight the devil.

They free the monk who attacks Dutch thinking she’s Aneela. They try to subdue him but he’s infused with the Level 6 goo and is proving very strong. D’Avin uses his powers with the help of Alvis to calm the old monk down. When he acts up again Dutch knocks him out.

——

Now awake and restrained they question the old Monk. Dutch cuts herself to prove she’s not Aneela and then tells him that she was sent by Khlyen to kill Aneela. The Old Monk is familiar with Khlyen’s name but Aneela called him a different name. She called him Father.

Dutch is freaked out. D’Avin calms her down and she decides to torch the facility and get out of there. The Old Monk begs her to kill him. He was tortured for centuries and no longer wants to live. The group agrees and Alvis performs the last rights before Dutch kills him.

Back on Lucy, Dutch wonders what if she is Aneela? She looks like her, she dreams of her. But D’Avin assures her that she is not Aneela, She is Yelena and together they will find Aneela.

——

Lucy informs them that the wall from the lab is a structural match for the wall surrounding Old Town. It kills fear and triggers euphoria. Once activated everyone inside becomes a happy helpless drone and the company can do whatever they want with them.

She tries to contact Johnny without any luck.

And that’s the end of the episode.

This week’s episode was very focused and didn’t involve the secondary characters very much. But that’s OK. We got a tight story with some answers and even more questions.

This week I talk mostly about what our trio do with Sabine and what they discover through her. I also talk briefly about Johnny’s side project with Pawter.

Recap of Heart-Shaped Box

The episode starts with Dutch and Alvis in bed together. Dutch looks up to see a mirror image of herself slit Alvis’ throat with a knife. She wakes up from the nightmare and tells Alvis she has to leave to continue searching for answers into Khlyen’s past.

In Old Town, Johnny meets the engineer that helped build the wall. He asks for her to tell him what the wall is really for, but before she can answer D’Avin arrives ordering Johnny to come back with him after discovering that Sabine isn’t dead.

After hearing his brother’s story and confirming that the woman is indeed alive, Johnny deduces that she’s a level 6 there to spy on them. They put her in a large duffle bag and sneak her onto Lucy to show Dutch.

After a bit of confusion as to why the boys have Sabine in a bag, Dutch is elated to discover they now have a level 6 right where they want them.

After running Sabine’s face through RAC records they discover that she’s really Jenny Avery, an 89 years old Killjoy.

Somehow D’Avin broke her and she’s no longer healing so Johnny suggests jolting her awake with an epinephrine shot.

He runs off to his room to get what he needs and while there contacts Pawter to help. He also tells her that Artura Senbek, the company engineer ran away before he could get answers from her about the wall. To make it easier, he asks Pawter to take a warrant out on the woman.

After waking Sabine they start questioning her. She tells them Khlyen sent her to spy on them. She tells them that level 6s are soldiers working for the true purpose of the RAC but she doesn’t know what that purpose is.

After a bit of torture, Sabine finally admits that Khlyen sent her to protect D’Avin from Dutch. Dutch wants more answers but D’Avin stops her before she takes the torture too far. He convinces her that to do it right, they need to have Turin interrogate Sabine.

Turin is happy to oblige and tells them he’s been trying to figure out a way to detect Level 6s amongst the RAC. With Sabine in their grasp, he hopes to finally accomplish that.

Using an optical lie detector, they show Sabine photos of RAC agents and monitor her pupils’ reactions creating a starting list of Level 6 RAC agents to target.

While Turin and the Killjoys are distracted, Turin’s interrogator pulls out a strange weapon and tries to kill Sabine but she dispatches him instead.

Back in restraints, Sabine tells them the weapon is a device to kill 6s. She tells them that they can’t heal from instant brain death.

She has them examine the dead interrogator, proving that he was a level 6 as well. He tried to stop her from talking to them.

——

Equipped with the list of possible Level 6 agents Turin takes his leave, but not before telling Dutch about the Black Root. The secret police that keep the 6s in line. He tells her to get what she can from Sabine and then dispose of her.

——

Back on Lucy, Sabine is equipped with a detonation collar in case she gets out of line. D’Avin notices that Sabine isn’t healing and questions if that means she’s not really a level 6 any more. He’s wondering if he could possibly heal her completely and make her normal.

Dutch tells him Sabine’s not a pet, she’s a weapon meant to be used against them. Once they get what they need out of her they need to get rid of her.

He scolds her, telling her they are not murderers. This is a war so she needs to treat Sabine like an enemy combatant. And that means not killing their prisoner.

Later, after examining Sabine’s brain scan, Johnny figures out that the Level 6 plasma shuts down the emotional part of the brain, the part that makes them human.

Sabine, having lost most of her plasma is feeling emotions for the first time in decades. Unfortunately, the state is temporary. The stuff in her brain is replicating and soon she’ll be a full-fledged Level 6 again.

Sabine overhears them and decides to help. She tells Dutch that the RAC tracks all agents looking for those strong enough to survive the physical transition and broken enough to survive the mental one. Most people go crazy during the process. The green breaks your bonds with anyone you’ve ever loved. It’s like everyone you know dies instantly.

Sabine says she never had a choice and she doesn’t like being someone’s puppet. She offers to identify all the Level 6s if they let her go, she’s as good as dead anyway once her people find out. Dutch agrees.

Sabine tells them that the green plasma actually stores all the information gathered by the 6s. With the help of D’Avin’s unique ability and Turin’s optical lie detector, she should be able to identify each and every one of them.

She and D’Avin join to begin the process and he suddenly sees a bunch of random distorted visions before stopping on a vision of Leith in the winter. Both he and Sabine are standing in a snow covered wooded area.

They discover a mirrored cube that somehow repels D’Avin. When he tries to force his way in, his body on Lucy goes into synaptic overload and Dutch is forced to break the experiment.

They were able to identify enough Level 6s before the connection was broken. Some of which are in Old Town.

Dutch trusts Sabine to D’Avin’s care while she and Johnny go verify the legitimacy of the Level 6s in Old Town.

Left alone, Sabine confesses to D’Avin that she hijacked his thoughts earlier to visit a memory of her grandfather’s farm for one last time. She also tells him that he’s the first person she’s actually felt a connection with for over 60 years.

D’Avin tells her the heightened emotions she’s feeling are due to them flooding into her all at once. She doesn’t care, these emotions are probably the last ones she’ll ever feel.

The two share a bottle of booze reminiscing about their youth. Then Sabine tells him she’s disappearing. She feels herself slipping away. All she wants is to feel wanted by someone, but he can’t help her out.

——

Meanwhile, going undercover in Old Town, Dutch and Johnny positively identify the 6s, marking them with a bio stain so they have a fix on them.

She doesn’t like it. There are too many of them just sitting around doing nothing. It’s like they’re waiting for something.

It’s getting late so the two call it a night and go their separate ways.

Dutch decides to search Sabine’s room in the Royal only to be attacked by one of the Black Root. They fight and she manages to kill him. In the process, she discovers that Sabine is really one of the Black Root and she was actually spying on them in order to locate Khlyen.

——

Earlier while on Leith, Johnny picked up a new warrant from Bellus for the company engineer. She didn’t like that he’s keeping things from Dutch and D’Avin and told him that they deserve better from him.

Now in Old Town, Johnny tracks down Artura Senbek and threatens to arrest her if she doesn’t help him take down the wall.

Reluctantly she tells him about Greenwell, the place where they tested the wall. The technology came from somewhere else and none of them knew what the wall did.

Greenwell, the town where they tested the wall was a slaughter. Almost everyone died within a day. The Company took the survivors but nobody knows where.

She tells him that the controls for the Old Town wall are in Jelco’s office in Spring Hill.

Johnny makes his was to Spring Hill and breaks into Jelco’s office only to find Artura Senbek held captive within. Before he can do anything Jelco arrives and takes him prisoner.

——

When Dutch arrives back on Lucy she discovers that D’Avin let Sabine go. She’s furious. She tells him what the woman’s true purpose was and now she’s gone. But D’Avin was smart enough to hide a tracker on her before letting her go. He reminds her that no matter what, their team always comes first.

He tells her that he didn’t want her to die in a cage. He sympathises with what she’s been through. Any one of them could be in her situation. The least he could do is not let her see it coming.

With Johnny out of communication, they leave for Leith without him to search for Sabine.

On Leith Dutch manages to track down the Level 6. Sabine tells her she’s tracking down one of Khlyen’s safe houses searching for help. The two fight but Dutch get’s the better of Sabine.

The 6 says that Khlyen is different because he feels for Dutch. He was there when it all started, the green, 6s, the RAC until something happened and he rebelled. Something about Dutch.

Khlyen has taken all memories of Dutch out of the green. He’s protecting her from something but none of them know from what.

Sabine tells her that Khlyen has been training her, her whole life to be a 6. She warns Dutch not to let them do it to her.

Feeling herself changing, Sabine begs Dutch to end her and the Killjoy complies. Afterwards, we see people drag Sabine’s body away.

Continuing on through the woods, Dutch finds the safe house. But it’s not Khlyen’s, it’s there for her. Filled with her own things including a red box.

Later she tells D’Avin that everything inside it was like a message she couldn’t decode yet. She doesn’t think she meant to find it yet.

The red box contains the name Aneela. Dutch speculates that it’s the other her, the one D’Avin saw on Arkyn. And she thinks Khlyen wants Dutch to kill her.

And that’s the end of the episode.

I loved this week’s episode. There was action, asteroids, spaceships, an asteroid spaceship, romance, mysterious deaths and killer robots, what else could we want from a scifi show?

This week I talk about what San Romwell brings to the story, including a mysterious invader from 400 years ago that is slowly (crawling you might say) making its way across the galaxy. I also share my theory on what happened to Sabine. Level 6 anyone?

Recap of I Love Lucy

The episode opens in Old Town with D’Avin and Johnny apprehending an elderly bootlegger. Learning that it’s a good idea to read the entire warrant before going after their prey.

Back on Lucy, Dutch suggests they find some of the green plasma in order to figure out exactly what it does to people. Johnny extracts some of the green substance from his pet Mossy for D’Avin to test out. The older Jaqobis brother demonstrates how he can attract and repel the substance but then suddenly he starts to seize. Johnny realises that D’Avin and Mossy are linked and manages to break the connection. Once recovered D’Avin tells them he was inside Mossy’s mind, which grosses him out.

Later at the Royal the three are discussing what happened. They theorise that the green plasma bonds organisms making them something new. Unfortunately the sample they took from Mossy can only bond with Mossy. In order to further test their theory they need to find some pure plasma.

Luckily Pree has some contacts that may help them get their hands on some and he and Dutch head outside to discuss it.

Meanwhile, D’Avin and Sabine start flirting at the bar so Johnny heads back to Lucy to call Pawter via her holophone. She tells him she found a redacted document in the council archives about the walls on Westerley. There’s a term on it she doesn’t recognise which he offers to look into for her. She asks him how he’s doing considering he’s lying to Dutch and D’Avin. He tells her that they’ll understand once they bring the wall down. It will all be worth it.

Once they end the connection, Johnny orders Lucy to erase the conversation from the ships archives.

Pree manages to get the Killjoys a meeting with San Romwell a collector who has some “green magic” which he claims can be used to control people. But he tells Dutch San only trades so she better bring him something interesting.

While talking to Pree, Dutch notices D’Avin and Sabine getting friendly inside the bar and is obviously uncomfortable with it. Pree tells her it’s OK to Dwant him, a word he made up for when someone doesn’t want to be with someone but they also don’t want anyone else to be with that same someone.

——

The Killjoys head off to find San Romwell. The coordinates Pree gave them lead them inside an asteroid field. But when they reach the destination there’s no ship there. Lucy informs them they are being hailed. San is anxious to meet them providing they have something to trade. The three are confused when he tells them to come onboard. But then one of the asteroids opens up revealing a docking bay. This revelation greatly excites Johnny who starts acting like a little kid.

Inside the asteroid ship, they meet San and his three female companions. San is eager for a trade so he takes them to his storage chamber where he keeps his molecular printer. Everything in his collection is stored on data keys, which he can simply print out when needed.

He demonstrates by printing out a vial of their desired green plasma and then having his machine dismantle it back into its molecular pieces.

They bring San onboard Lucy to show him what they have to trade. He’s not very impressed with what they have to offer.

While San is looking over their wares, Lucy informs Johnny that someone is attempting to hack into her system and is cataloguing everything onboard.

San is finally impressed when he spots Johnny’s pet mossipede Mossy but John doesn’t want to part with it. San also asks for the story of how they got it. He says the story behind the objects he trades for is what’s really important.

Dutch tells Johnny to just cut Mossy in two and give San half of it. Both halves will heal anyway.

Once the trade is complete, San pulls out a syringe, sticks it in his half of the mossipede and extracts its green goo. He holds out the syringe to Johnny saying they weren’t specific enough about what green plasma they wanted.

Dutch threatens to arrest him if they don’t get the vial they came for. When she draws her gun on him, San’s three androids draw on her. San then confiscates the Killjoys’ weapons and orders them off the ship.

San informs them that in order to go free they’ll need to trade Dutch’s cithara for her freedom. As for Johnny and D’Avin, he plans on adding them to his collection. He’s always wanted a pair of brothers.

At this, D’Avin turns and attacks one of the androids without any effect. With D’Avin in danger, Dutch concedes to San’s offer to trace the cithara and her story for all their freedom.

——

In San’s quarters, he informs Dutch that he wants to see her story. He has a device that lets them link their visual cortexes allowing him to experience the story as she pictures it in her head.

Dutch starts her story and San follows along as if he was there. Her family was extremely wealthy. They owned an entire moon at the edge of the J but they lost everything. As a girl, she was chosen to join a harem on the planet they orbited. She missed her home, her brothers and sisters. She was completely alone.

She says there was talk of a way out. One day they would compete to marry a handsome prince. She didn’t think she had a chance but her father sent her a tutor, Khlyen.

Her tutor got her the cithara. He taught her to charm the prince with music so he’d choose her when she became of age.

San asks her if she married the prince but she says that’s another story and asks for one of his in exchange. She asks him where he got the plasma.

He tells her he got it from some visitors that came to his home planet when he was a young man. Their ship was unlike anything he had ever seen before. Organic, almost like they had grown it instead of built it.

He had just started his collection and they had a world of wonders. Most of all, the liquid used to run their ship. He traded for it and then left his planet. He’s never been back.

Dutch knows there’s more to his story but he insists she finishes hers first.

She tells him that Khlyen taught her a special song for her wedding night. She was supposed to sing it while the prince played the music, but she never got the chance.

She receives a message from Johnny asking her to buy them some time so she offers to sing the song to San if he’ll accompany her on the cithara.

While she sings, San imagines living a life and growing old with someone special to him. At the end of the song he’s sad, he had forgotten what that dream was even like, to live and die with someone.

San realises that something is wrong. He can’t move. Dutch tells him there’s a paralytic agent on the strings that she’s immune to. She tells him that her tutor also taught her to kill. He let her believe that her wedding would be the end of it. That when she was married, she would be free. That’s what she was trading for every time she killed someone. But on her wedding day, he told her the cithara was an instrument of murder and the prince was the target. Khlyen stole back her freedom and she won’t allow anyone to take it from her again.

With one of the cithara strings, she chokes San to death.

Elsewhere in the ship, San’s androids are preparing D’Avin and Johnny for inclusion in San’s collection. They want to place the brothers on the machine to be broken down into their constituent atoms.

At this the two brothers attack. D’Avin is quickly overpowered but Johnny manages to stick a device on the back of one of the androids that sync her with Lucy allowing a stripped down version of the ship A.I. to take over the body. The Lucybot quickly dispatches the one holding D’Avin.

She informs the brothers that she’s blocked San Romwell’s neurolink controlling the androids. But she can only hold them off for about 5 minutes. Before leaving D’Avin grabs some peaches he finds on a shelf.

They are attacked by the two remaining androids while making their way to Lucy. But they suddenly stop once Dutch kills San.

Dutch tells Johnny and D’Avin to go open the doors to the landing bay so they can get out of there. She’s going to the printer room to get the green plasma they came for.

In the room, Dutch tries several keys before remembering that Johnny had touched the key she’s looking for. Using a scanner she finds the key with Johnny’s DNA on it.

After printing the vial, San walks in and the two fight. He’s much more formidable than she anticipated and Dutch suspects he’s a level 6.

But he tells her that the people that came to his planet were there to conquer it. His father was a lord so they tortured him for secrets to the planet’s defences. He trades the lives of those on the planet for his freedom and he regrets it every day.

He made it to an outlaw hospital ship where they healed him with hacked nanobots that worked a little too well. They’ve kept him alive for 432 years.

Satisfied that he’s not there to kill her, Dutch lets him go. He tells her that every once in a while he convinces someone to stay with him on his ship. But the years pass and eventually so do they.

He offers her a hairpin as a gift; it’s the first thing he ever traded for. All he wants is to make amends.

Still trying to find their way through the asteroid, D’Avin, Johnny and the Lucybot are confronted once again by the other two androids.

D’Avin and Johnny inform Dutch that the bots are still after them. San is just as confused as the rest of them. He told them to stand down but they’re not responding. The bots are stuck in kill mode.

He offers to help her if she considers staying with him. She tells him to either help because it’s the right thing to do or stay out of her way.

——

Cornered in a room with the androids batting down the door, Lucybot turns towards Johnny. She asks him to kiss her. She explains that if he dies this may be her last chance to gain that sensory input. Johnny tells her that’s not a good reason. So Lucybot tells him this may be his last chance to kiss a robot.

To D’Avin’s surprise, Johnny concedes and kisses her. Afterwards, she thanks him and then goes to confront the other androids. As she holds them off Johnny and D’Avin make a run for it but not before seeing Lucybot shot and disabled.

——

The two brothers make it back to Lucy at the same time as Dutch and San. Unfortunately, the hanger doors are still closed. Lucy can’t blast them because she’s fending off a hacking attempt by the two remaining androids.

Johnny runs into Lucy to help her while D’Avin has an idea. Using the plasma that Dutch has he coats a piece of photonic crystal making it into an unstable bomb. He uses his powers to control the plasma trying to launch the crystal at the androids. His aim is a bit off and the crystal bounces around gaining momentum. But at the speed it’s going the blast it will create could destroy the entire asteroid.

Dutch convinces San to abandon his collection and go with them. They escape the asteroid right before it blows up.

——

Safely onboard Lucy, D’Avin confesses to Dutch that using his powers to help them is the first time he’s felt good about himself since his time in the army. She tells him to use that self-esteem to have some fun with Sabine in Old Town.

——

San tells Dutch that he feels free for the first time in a very long time. He had forgotten what it felt like to be a part of a story. Dutch gives him new identity papers to help him get out of the Quad. In gratitude, he offers her a vial of the green plasma. He had printed an extra one just in case.

He tells her that he’s heard rumours over the centuries that the invaders that came to his homework are making their way across the galaxy. He wishes he knew more.

He tells her that not everyone has a happy ending so be happy when you can.

——

On Leith, Dutch goes to Alvis where the two end up in bed together. In the morning Alvis tells her that he’s been going through the archives. The tree of life they pray about has a sap that they call the elixir that bestows eternal life. He’s wondering if they’re both looking for the same thing. He’s thinking that the Scarbacks weren’t cutting themselves as penance, but instead to prove that they weren’t infected with plasma. Proving that they can still bleed and scar.

——

On Lucy, Johnny is communicating with Pawter, telling her that one of his contacts has heard of telaplasticity using EMR to disrupt thought patterns. Theoretically. He’s found one of the engineers. Word is she’s hiding out in Old Town and he’s meeting her tonight.

When he gets to his quarters he’s surprised to see a projection of Pawter waiting for him. He didn’t realise he had left the holophone on. He’s even more surprised when she steps off the holophone and is really on the ship. The two waste no time getting intimate.

——

At the Royal, D’Avin finally built up the courage to hook up with Sabine. He shows her the peaches he brought back for her and she shows her gratefulness by passionately attacking him. The two strip and get it on.

Sabine straddles him. Her face takes on an expression of ecstasy before turning to fear as green goo flows from her eyes and mouth. She collapses in a seizure as a pool of plasma oozes out of her.

And that’s the end of the episode.

Welcome, I am so happy that you’ve joined me to discuss Killjoys.

What a great episode this week. They weren’t kidding when they titled this episode Meet The Parents. We got it from both ends.

I loved Andrew Gillies as Weymer Simms, Pawter’s father. It’s too bad he has to die in almost every role he plays. Kudos also goes to Luke MacFarlane and Rob Steward for their spot on portrayal of each other.

I’m really curious as to what’s happening on Qresh that has the 9 families so worried. And now that Pawter is head of the Simms household I can’t wait for her next encounter with Delle Seyah Kendry.

Poor Johnny, he’s caught between the two women he loves. You could see at the end of the episode just how much it hurt him to lie to Dutch. How will he manage?

The episode opens in Old Town with Dutch and D’Avin arresting a couple of smugglers on a warrant, The two are working alone while Johnny is escorting Pawter to Qresh.

Once the two captives are securely stored on board Lucy, D’Avin makes his way back to the Royal and awkwardly flirts with Pree’s new bartender. He starts to see and hear things before passing out and falling to the floor.

At that same time, far away approaching the planet Telen, Khlyen is using his green goo to make a mental link with D’Avin, hoping the Killjoys will help lead him to his destination.

They make their way to the residence of Merris Jaqobis, D’Avin and Johnny’s father where Khlyen plans on getting some answers about D’Avin and how he rejected the level 6 procedure.

Marris tells them he can’t help. He hasn’t seen D’Avin since he joined the military. But Khlyen has other plans. He has Fancy Lee inject Marris with the level 6 green goo to see the reaction. When Marris doesn’t have the reaction they expected they speculate that it may come from the mother’s side so Khlyen tries to reestablish his connection to D’Avin.

Back on Lucy D’avin tells Dutch about his experience passing out at the Royal. She’s a little concerned because the last time his head felt weird he tried to kill her. D’Avin relinquishes his gun just to be safe. Which Dutch then draws on him when he starts humming a tune that only she and Khlyen know.

D’avin tells her that during his vision he was seeing things like he was looking through someone else’s eyes. They guess that Khlyen may have found a way to link their minds.

D’Avin is adjusting the prisoner’s restraints when suddenly he feels it again in his head. The prisoners break free but he doesn’t notice. Dutch is forced to deal with them while D’aving tries to improvise and follows the connection back to Khlyhen. Something goes wrong and D’Avin snaps to in Khlyen’s body.

On Telen, D’Avin pretends to be Khlyen but Fancy Lee isn’t buying it. Using Khlyen’s strength and agility he bests Fancy Lee and then, convincing his father that it’s him, sends the older man away.

Fancy Lee wakes up and attacks, and even though he’s in Khlyen’s body, D’Avin is no match for him.

On Lucy, Khlyen, now in D’Avin’s body reacts to the treat of the escaped prisoners and easily dispatches of them but not before taking a wound in his side. Something he hasn’t experienced in a while.

Khlyen tells her that the plasma acts as a conduit between their minds. He needs to get a message back to Fancy Lee to switch them back before the Black Root finds and kills them. Dutch ignores his protests and tends to the wounds in his side.

He confesses to her that he’s trying to figure out why D’Avin is immune to the green goo but he’s very cryptic as to what it actually is. He tells her he had plans for her but then D’Avin made the impossible possible. She wants to know what but he tells her she’s too unstable. If she knew she would charge in blind and destroy everything. It’s who she is.

Lucy announces that D’Avin’s body is in critical condition. The two men need to switch back now but Khlyen has no idea how.

On Qresh at the Simms household, Johnny tries to comfort Pawter who is nervous about being home for the first time since her exile.

Pawter introduces him to her sister Luella and her fiancé Hank who obviously has a past connection with Pawter. Her father then arrives to welcome her home.

Her father is happy to see her but is worried about her meeting her mother. He offers to help her with whatever she needs. But what she needs is to have the order of exile lifted off of her. He tells her, her mother won’t hear of it, but she swears she’s ready to take her place as a true and rightful daughter of the nine.

Unfortunately her father can tell when she’s lying so she confesses that she’s trying to figure out what the company is doing on Westerley and Old Town. The only way for her to stop it is to be a member of the board.

Later a nervous Pawter tracks Johnny down to the family baptismal pool where he’s taking a dip, a skinny dip. She’s worried because her father is organizing a family dinner and she doesn’t have a lot of time to teach Johnny their rituals.

——–

Later in the dining hall, Johnny tries to keep up with the Qreshi ceremonial customs but fails miserably, further embarrassing the already uncomfortable Pawter.

When Pawter finally builds up the courage to ask her mother, Adeline Sayah Simms for help her mother says no before Pawter even completes her request. Her mother knows she wants the order of exile lifted and wont hear of it. Once the meal is over Pawter and Johnny are to leave.

Upset, Pawter leaves the table, followed by Johnny. After composing herself she’s going to go back in to confront her mother but Johnny stops her. He tells her she deserves better than them. But she says so do the people of Old Town.

Their conversation is interrupted when Castor, the family servant walks in half frozen. He warns them to stay out of the fog before falling to the floor where she shatters into millions of pieces.

Everyone is obviously shaken, but Adeline quickly takes charge, collecting samples to examine. When Pawter offers to help her mother brushes her aside.

Suspecting a bio attack, Johnny puts out a distress call while Pawter ignores her mother’s orders and goes to help her.

Pawter tells her that she spent most of her childhood outside her mom’s lab door. It’s probably the reason she became a doctor. Her mother, obviously not proud of her daughter tells Pawter not to blame her for her misfortune.

Pawter tells her mother that most people would be happy to have a doctor in the family but her mother says that’s not how any of the 9 see it. Pawter was supposed to lead their family, make the hard decisions required of one of the 9.

Their conversation ends when the results of their experiments are displayed on the computer, but they don’t make sense.

Outside the house, Louella goes to warn the staff in the boathouse. Johnny stops her right as she opens the door and her hand touches the fog. He rushes her back into the house as her hand starts to freeze. A quick thinking Pawter grabs a ceremonial sword off the mantel and severs her sister’s arm.

——–

While Pawter and Adeline tend to Louella. Johnny and Weymer spend some time together. Pawter’s father tells him how he used to be a carpenter when he met Adeline and fell in love. Her family threatened to disown her over it but she faught and won.

Johnny questions their decision to exile Pawter. Weymer tells him that when you love two people equally, you choose the one that makes you a better person. He tells Johnny that he has no idea what their family had to do, or what was best for Pawter.

Johnny’s scans of the area reveal an alpha shield. And impregnable device designed not to keep things out, but to keep things in, like pathogens that escape from a lab. If they don’t take the shield down now they’ll all die.

Johnny confronts Adeline about the shield only to discover that she’s infected by the pathogen. She thought she found a cure so she infected herself. Only to discover that she was wrong.

The pathogen is her own creation. Someone set it loose as an attack on her family. Johnny plans on blowing up the shield’s power source dispersing the fog making it harmless. But Adeline tells him that it’s designed to replicate exponentially, not dissipate. If it gets out everyone on the planet is in danger. Realizing his error he runs off to stop the bomb he had set up.

Pawter arrives and questions her mother about her work. Adeline tells her it was for Qresh. She says that their planet and people are under a ticking clock. Some of the 9 families embrace their fate, others try to resist it. This was her way to try to stop it. She was trying to make Qresh uninhabitable for those who are trying to take it.

Somehow she failed. Her pathogen was meant to freeze land and water but she was off and she can’t fix it. All she can do is provide Pawter with a full record of what the pathogen does to a human subject. She pleads with her daughter to use the science and help the others.

Adeline tells Pawter that her father never wanted her to become head of the family, because in order to protect those you love, you need to become something you hate.

The pathogen then consumes her and she freezes solid.

Pawter is torn as to what to do. Part of her just wants to get drunk, but the other part needs to fix the problem. Johnny supports the latter idea so she gets to work studying the data her mother left her.

She discovers that the pathogen may have a weakness, extreme heat. They just need to figure out how to but it without killing everyone. Luckily Johnny has an idea.

Dutch and Johnny talk to each other, both keeping their current predicaments from the other. Dutch asks him hypothetically how he would switch two consciences that had somehow changed place. He tells her that a good electrical shock may do the trick.

Since they’re talking in hypotheticals he asks her how much explosives would be needed to set off 20-30 gas lines. She gives him the answer he needs.

The two know the other is in trouble but they trust each other to come out safely.

——–

Johnny needs to get through the fog in order to set off the gas lines. Louella offers her diving suit to keep his skin protected from exposure to the pathogen.

He makes his way to the control plant where he’s attacked by Hank. The traitor destroys the bomb and offers to split the Joy he’s getting 50/50 with Johnny if they let the fog kill the family.

Inside the house, Pawter and Louella are reflecting about their mother and her strange way of showing her love for them.

When enough time passes without an explosion Weymer decides to go check on Johnny, even though it means exposure to the fog. His two daughters plead with him not to go. He tells them to be strong. Sometimes they have choices to make and sometimes they don’t have any choices.

Inside the control plant, Hank is about to kill Johnny when Weymer arrives. The distraction is enough for Johnny to get the upper hand and knock Hank out.

The detonator on the bomb is broken. The only way to set it off is by shooting it. Weymer, who walked through the fog to get there is already dying and offers to do it himself. He asks Johnny to take care of his daughter but the killjoy assures the man that Pawter can take care of herself.

The two nod at each other, then Johnny gives him the bomb and his gun and then runs back to the house.

After waiting 2 minutes, Weymer sets off the bomb blowing up himself and all the gas lines which burn off all the fog, saving everyone.

On Lucy, Dutch gets Khlyen to lie down before shocking him but it doesn’t work. D’Avin’s body is getting worse. Dutch tells Khlyen that she doesn’t hate him anymore. She misses hating him. Now she’s floating and doesn’t know what to hold onto.

Khlyen is distracted by D’Avin’s vitals on the monitor. He notices an abnormality in the brain scan. Dutch tells him that the military performed some experiments on him. That could be the clue he’s been searching for.

He tells Dutch about his last transmission from Red 17. He tells her that when she cracks it she’ll have her answers.

She asks him one last question, why was she on Arkyn as a girl? He tells her that it wasn’t her. Then he shocks himself.

When he wakes, D’Avin is back in his own body. Dutch rejoices and the two of them head to Qresh to pick up Johnny.

While on Teren, Khlyen tells Fancy Lee of the military experiment and the two head off to find answers.

Later on Qresh, Pawter takes the oath to become the head of house Simms and lady of the land.

After the ceremony, she tells Johnny that she doesn’t want him to help her because of her. He tells her that that’s the old Johnny. He’s having doubts. He wants to give a shit like she does. He’s tired of not being able to do that. And he wants to give a shit with her. He says maybe The warrant isn’t all for him. She tells him he can’t tell Dutch or D’Avin anything. For all their sakes.

Later on Lucy. Dutch and Johnny talk face to face. She tells him that a lot of things have change for her lately but she’s glad they haven’t. She asks him if things did change he would tell her wouldn’t he? He takes a few seconds to reply but says yes, he would. As she walks away you can see how lying to her is tearing at him.

Welcome everyone. I am so happy that you’ve joined me to discuss Killjoys.

This was a better episode than last week’s in my opinion. Not action packed but it did propel the story along nicely.

In this week’s podcast, I talk about the disappointing revelation of who took Pawter. It was nothing more than some wild Westerley salt flats people. Boring. What was fun

What was fun was the trip to the Prodigy School. We got to see Delle Seyah Kendry again. I still can’t decide if I like or dislike her which I’m really enjoying. We had some interesting revelations abut what she was doing there, creating a human seed bank of Qreshi culture and knowledge. That seem a little extreme but then again, we don’t know what’s coming like she does.

I enjoyed the whole theme of brotherly bonds and the playfulness and family commitments involved. I also liked the few lines we got from Lucy. I really love that ship.

But it’s the ending that really has me intrigued. What will Khlyen and Fancy-Lee find on D’avin and Johnny’s homeworld? I can’t wait to find out.

This was a good episode but not my favourite. When you think about it as a whole, maybe 10 minutes of it is of any real importance.

In this week’s podcast, I talk about our trio’s decent into the mysterious mines on Westerley. Turin sends them on a mission to find out what happened to another group of Killjoys and what they discover could have great ramifications on the rest of the series.

What exactly are those green goo producing centipedes? How do they relate to the Level 6 program and why don’t they like D’avin? Does he smell?

I think the more interesting part of this episode was what happened with Pawter. Although I did scratch my head a few times at some of the plot twists involving the pretty doctor.

I’m sure we’ll look back on this one in the future and pinpoint all the important facts involved but for now, I can’t wait for a more action packed episode.

Welcome everyone. I am so happy that you’ve joined me to discuss Killjoys.

This was a great continuation to season 2 of Killjoys.

In this week’s podcast, I talk about our group’s infiltration of Old Town and their deal with the devil Jelco to get in. Westerley is in pretty bad shape since the bombing. But luckily The Royale is still standing although Gared has taking over Pree’s place as owner. That is until Dutch intervenes.

Once past the wall surrounding Old Town, Dutch and her crew must hunt down eight escaped prisoners which doesn’t prove that difficult considering one kills himself as soon as they find him and another six are already dead. It’s just the ringleader Tarren they need to get.

It’s a good thing they find Pawter and Alvis to help them. With their help, they complete their mission but not without racking up a bunch of new questions for us viewers.

What is Jelco’s agenda? Why is Pawter staying with him? What is Turin’s true objective? Is there anything left on Arkyn? And who is really behind everything?

We’re only two episodes in and the questions are piling up. I can’t wait for the rest of the season.

Luckily they win her over and she agrees to help them.

What a great couple of episodes these were. I personally preferred Kiss Kiss, Bye Bye over Come the Rain but they were both great.

This week during my episode discussion on Kiss Kiss, Bye Bye I discuss the trio’s quest to track down Dr. Jaeger and what happens when they find her. I also talk about the connection that Dutch and D’avin make. As well as the revelations about D’avin’s, Dutch’s and Pawter’s pasts. I then move on to Come the Rain where I discuss Johnny’s adventure in The Royal when the Black Rain hits Old Town and the trials Dr. Pawter goes through. I also talk about Dutch and D’avin’s warrant and how they’re forced to come to terms with what happened between them in the last episode.

This week during my episode discussion I discuss the warrant that is forced upon Dutch sending the group to Sugar Point, a decrepit wasteland populated by scavengers and gangs where they are tasked with bringing back the Mayor’s captive daughter. Lucy is shot down on the way to the mission causing Dutch and D’avin to proceed on foot while Johnny stays behind to repair the ship. D’avin’s soldiering skills are put to the test as he and Dutch face the native scavengers and then R’yo’s people.

Meanwhile Johnny faces problems of his own as scavengers are trying to break into Lucy, draining her power with each attempt. Should her batteries deplete the ship will be defenceless.

Hey everyone,

Mark Des Cotes here from Solo Talk Media to tell you about my brand new podcast for the new Space and SyFy show Killjoys that premiers on June 19 here in North America.

In case you’re not familiar with it, KILLJOYS follows a trio of interplanetary bounty hunters – or “Killjoys” – as they chase deadly warrants throughout the Quad, a distant planetary system on the brink of a bloody, class war.

Killjoys is created and written by show runner Michelle Lovretta of Lost Girl fame, and directed by genre guru Chris Grismer who is known for his work on Vampire Diaries plus its spin off The Originals and Pretty Little Liars just to name a few. The show is produced by Executive producers David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg of Temple Street Productions. The same production company behind the hit show Orphan Black, Which coincidentally is one of my other podcasts, The Orphan Black Podcast.

What is Killjoys

To bring you up to speed, here’s the synopsis and main character breakdown that was put out in a press release by Space in Canada and Syfy in the USA.

In a distant Galaxy, the people of the planet Qresh have colonized their three moons, creating four stratified worlds, each defined along socio-economic lines and rife with social unrest. In this planetary unit, known as the Quad, a highly regulated group of bounty hunters, Killjoys, are licensed to pursue a vast range of warrants throughout the galaxy. Killjoys must follow strict rules, and there are harsh consequences for veering from their mantra: “The Warrant is All”. Killjoys are not allowed to take a personal or political side in their mission, which proves to be impossible and near fatal for Dutch. Dutch is a gorgeous, complicated and deadly Killjoy at the top of her game. Her partner, John the Bastard, is a peacemaker who hates conflict.

When John’s incredibly sexy and confident brother D’avin shows up to join the partners, the dysfunctional trio’s lives become intertwined. Confined to close quarters, Dutch, John, and D’avin quickly find themselves caught in a tricky love triangle.

In KILLJOYS, Hannah John-Kamen stars as the gorgeous, complicated, and deadly Dutch. A top-level Killjoy, she’s a much loved and charming presence in her community, with a unique gift for earning people’s trust and respect regardless of their class. Under her banter and protective flirtations, there is pain, maturity, and a deep solemnity resulting from a dark secret past.

Aaron Ashmore takes on the role of John Jaqobis, a Level 3 Killjoy who, despite his profession, is a peacemaker who hates conflict. Cheerful and kind-hearted, John prefers not to fight, but his sarcastic wit has put him into the fray enough over the years to teach him how to do it well, and dirty. Give this man any machine or situation, and he can fix it, build it, and fly it.

Luke Macfarlane stars as D’avin, a handsome, rugged, sarcastic, and incredibly loyal former soldier. He dreamed of enlisting in the military since boyhood, and his hard-won expertise in tactics, manoeuvres, and hand-to-hand combat make him an instant asset to the Killjoy team.
