I have certainly made many mistakes over the years as I was learning how to make money in online marketing.

And now I’m going to tell you about 2 of them…

Remember this word: “LIT.”

In this context, it stands for Learn, Implement, Teach.

I have never had a problem with the first one, learning.

I love to learn all about marketing and continue to do so every day.

But you can’t stay stuck in “learning mode” and not move forward.

You must then implement, or put into practice what you learn.

Then at some point, to also teach what you’ve learned helps both you and the people who follow you.

I wished I had especially applied that 3rd step many years ago.

If I had done that all along, I would have a huge Youtube channel, as well as a great many web pages and other content out there that I could refer people to so that they could also benefit.

I would have had my own training courses up and running a long time ago.

As for regrets when you look back at the past and see the mistakes you made, don’t beat yourself up over them…you can only learn from those mistake and try to do better moving forward!

So remember: “L.I.T.”

Are you “proactive”? Or are you reactive?

Reactive people always focus on the things they cannot control.  These are the people who are always complaining about something.

Proactive people realize that even when their complaints are valid, it doesn’t help them to be constantly complaining if there’s nothing they can really do to change the issue. 

So they focus on what they CAN control.

The adjective proactive can describe a person who gets things done. If you are proactive, you make things happen, instead of waiting for them to happen to you. – vocabulary.com

If you have an online business, instead of focusing on how people don’t appreciate or respond positively to what you are offering or doing for them, focus instead on how to improve your product/service and the way you present it. 

Focus on figuring out how to present something that is so good, people will feel like they can’t live without it. 

Don’t quit or just sit back and complain…become BETTER.

It’s true, doing that will take trial and error, time and effort.

To put your focus to changing what you CAN change and improving what you do…takes MUCH more effort.  

So that’s why most people focus on the things they CAN’T control, rather than on the things they CAN.

Complaining is just a lot easier.

But weren’t you just wasting all your mental and emotional energy?

Yes. You were. 

Switch your focus to what you CAN control, not what you can’t.

Never say you can’t get business leads.

So build your list, and build your leads.

If you use social media to help you build your online business, I have a tip for you:

Post content that is share-able.

What do I mean?

If your posts are all about you, sure, people will care…but will your readers really care enough to SHARE it?

Content gets shared when it is motivational, funny, uplifting, or informative ….when it is useful and it’s something that helps others in some way.

And you might try posting the link to your biz at the end of that “share-able” content post, without specifically drawing attention to or mentioning your business.

When the content is shared, your link will be shared too, and people will click out of curiosity!

Here’s a little tip for you if you have a website or blog…

Do you know what one of the most-visited pages on a website is?

Statistically, besides the Home page – which is where a visitor will normally land first, it will almost always be the “About” page (if you have one).

What does that tell you? You may have all kinds of great info on your site, but people want to know who the person is behind it all. They want to know about YOU.

Yesterday, I visited at least 2 affiliate blogs that didn’t have an About page

Your About page doesn’t have to be elaborate, and you don’t have to tell your ENTIRE life history!

Visitors just want to know if you are a real person and a bit about you.

An About page is a step in building that all-important “Know-Like-Trust” factor, so make sure you add one!
