O francês David Guetta é um dos DJs e produtores que combinam o house de Daft Punk com elementos do electroclash. Iniciou a carreira profissional na discoteca parisiense Broad, com apenas 17 anos. Aos 21, de 1988 a 1990, teve mesmo o seu próprio programa de rádio. Fatboy Slim (nascido Quentin Leo Cook em 16 de julho de 1963, Kent, Grã-Bretanha), também conhecido como Normam Cook, é um músico do Reino Unido. Apesar de originalmente baixista em uma banda de rock, somente sob o codnome de Fatboy Slim e com o toca-discos atingiu o auge de sua carreira. A mistura de house, acid, funk, hip-hop, electro e techno, o consolidou de vez como um astro dentro do cenário da música eletrônica. Conhecido por ter um jeito particular ao tocar em shows, aonde não faz mixagens entre as músicas apresentadas. Nos anos 1980, Fatboy tocava baixo na banda The Housemartins. Mas apenas tocar baixo não foi suficiente e ele resolveu dar asas a sua criatividade musical. Depois de abandonar a banda, juntou-se a JC Reid e Tim Jeffery e formaram o Pizzaman. Nesta época foram gravados três singles, Trippin on Sunshine, Sex on the Streets e Happiness.
Depois de abandonar o Pizzaman, seguiu carreira definitiva como Fatboy Slim. O álbum de estréia foi Better Living Through Chemistry, de 1996. Antes de lançar mais um disco, Cook fazia remixagens de canções já conhecidas.

Algumas características:

House: É uma evolução da disco music, uma versão mais robotizada que usa samples de vocais e melodias. Tem uma média de 130 batidas por minutos (bpms).

Techno: Utiliza efeitos e melodias mais condensados com poucas notas, é intenso e reto. Tem entre 135 a 150 bpms. Gênero primogênito da e-music, criado em meados dos anos 70 pelos pioneiros sintetizadores do grupo alemão Kraftwerk.

Trance: Desdobramento do Techno, as melodias têm atmosfera viajante, recheados de efeitos especiais que vão crescendo ate alcançar um ápice eufórico. Tem em torno de 140 bpms. Com o intuito de produzir sons hipnóticos que pudessem levar o ouvinte a um estado de transe o "Trance" popularizou-se entre os amantes de música eletrônica no fim da década de 80, na Alemanha com uma batida entre 130 e 160 bpm. Com fortes influências do Goa Trance, difundido na Índia, o estilo foi desenvolvido por Paul Van Dyk, Dr. Motte e Torsten Stenzel.

Trance Europeu:Um dos estilos preferidos para quem gosta de dançar, o Trance Europeu pode ser caracterizado como uma ramificação ou uma vertente do house. As músicas normalmente trazem melodias vocais e uma batida mais alegre e pulsante. Alguns adpetos do estilo também costumam classifica-lo como trance pop.

Goa Trance: O Goa tem como características a fusão de elementos pouco industriais, como a sonoridade oriental, indo na contramão do techno urbano e assumindo aspectos de contracultura. De mais fácil assimilação e com propriedades mais orgânicas, o Goa Trance consegue fundir diferentes sonoridades, mantendo linhas sonoras oscilantes e psicodélicas.

Drum n' Bass: Tem base rítmica acelerada e batidas quebradas. As bases são quase sempre feitas com baixos fortes e prolongados. Tem em media 160 bpms.(surgiu nos anos 90, caracterizado por linhas de baixo, influência do reggae e jungle, com batidas muito aceleradas)

Dub: Tem muito efeitos de estúdio, como reverberações e ecos. Apresenta fortes referências da cultura jamaicana.

Trip Hop: Uma mistura de blues, eletrônico e trilhas sonoras de filmes. Serve para momentos mais lounge.

Electro: Combinação de hip-hop e e-music. A nova geração do electro, o electroclash, acrescenta elementos pop-rock dos anos 80.

Minimal: É uma versão ’light’ do house e do Techno. As melodias apresentam menos elementos sonoros (batidas, teclados, vocais e samples), com o intuito de se criar uma certa introspecção e um certo individualismo dentro da pista de dança. Como sugere o próprio nome, no trance minimal os pequenos detalhes são muito valorizados. Tem-se a presença de menos elementos sonoros que o psy trance e batidas menos intensas.

Maximal: O inverso do minimal. Muitos efeitos sonoros (vocais, samples e ruídos), mas sempre com uma forte batida dançante e divertida.

New Rave: Mistura eletrônica de indie rock, punk, disco e electro.

Acid House: Estilo mais radical de house, misturando-o com sons pesados. Gênero musical fabricado em estúdio. Surgiu nos anos 80, como variação do Dance de Detroit, nos Estados Unidos, que foi apelidada de "acid house" e que impulsionou a criação das raves inglesas e norte-americanas.

Breakbeat: Mais conhecido pelos samplers dos ritmos hip-hop, funk e electro e que logo se modificam e alteram para criar os denominados ’breaks’.

Trance Psicodélico (ou Psy): Este estilo tem uma batida rápida, entre 135 e 165 bpm, além da batida forte de kick, que algumas vezes difere do techno por ter um alcance de freqüência um pouco mais alto, além dos sons graves. Uma das vertentes mais populares do trance, o psy pode ser considerado um sinônimo do Goa Trance. O estilo assume propriedades mais futurísticas e experimentais com repetições de sintetizadores capazes de levarem o ouvinte a um estado de transe. Normalmente, são faixas que chamam a atenção por trazerem ruídos mais psicodélicos e combinações de melodias exóticas e pouco comuns. O estilo se divide entre dois subgêneros, conhecido pelos amantes de música eletrônica como Full On e Dark.

The Chemical Brothers é uma dupla de música eletrônica do Reino Unido composta por Tom Rowlands e Ed Simons (também chamados Chemical Ed e Chemical Tom). Inicialmente chamavam-se "The Dust Brothers", referência a uma dupla de produtores musicais que usavam o mesmo nome, mas devido à sua popularidade e possibilidade de retratações legais acabaram mudando seu nome em 1995. Junto com The Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, The Crystal Method e outros artistas, foram os pioneiros do big beat.

Tijs Verwest, mais conhecido como DJ Tiësto, (nascenu em Breda nos países baixos, no dia 17 de Janeiro de 1969. Ele se tornou um dos nomes mais famosos na cena mundial de trance e música eletrônica. Nas suas produções mais recentes, no entanto, ele abandonou o rótulo de "DJ" e é conhecido agora como simplesmente "Tiësto". Conforme sua popularidade cresceu no início dos anos 2000, ele se tornou o primeiro DJ a se apresentar para um grande público sem nenhum outro DJ ou outros atos de abertura. Ele também é notado por ser o primeiro DJ a tocar ao vivo no palco em Jogos Olímpicos na cerimônia de abertura das olimpíadas de 2004 em Atenas. Fora esse 75 álbuns e compactos assinados por ele, ainda teve suas parceriascom Ferry Corsten, DJ Montana, Arny Bink, Roland Kramer e Cor Fijneman, Benno De Goeij, Piet Bervoets, Armin Van Buuren, Dj Yves, Dj Ghost, Greg Storm van's Gravesande e Ahmet Buyukkafali, Greg 'Storm' van 's Gravesande e DJ Waakop Reijers (em nenhum desse assinou com nenhum dos apelidos citados acima). Como se não bastasse, Tiësto ainda fez varias séries de compilações, como: Lost Treasures (3 volumes, de 1996 à 1997), Forbidden Paradise (7 volumes, de 1995 à 1999), Magik (7 volumes, de 1997 à 2001), In Search of Sunrise (7 volumes, de 1999 à 2008), Space Age (2 volumes, de 1998 à 1999), alem de outras 17 compilações entre 1998 e 2005). De 2002 até hoje Tiësto conquistou 42 prêmios em todo o mundo. Embora atualmente Tiësto esteja na 2ª posição dos melhores DJ do mundo, de acordo com a DJ magazine, com seu currículo, pode ser considerado o Grande nome da música Trance mundial.

Marco Benassi, mais conhecido como Benny Benassi é um DJ italiano, nascido em Milão, no dia 13 de julho de 1967, e um artista da house/electroclash.

Ele normalmente trabalha em estúdio com primo Alle Benassi. Os dois também produziram singles e álbums juntos, especialmente sob o nome Benassi Bros, mas não apenas sob esse pseudônimo. O duo começou com o DJing na década de 80, na cidade natal deles, antes de começarem a trabalhar para a Larry Pignagnoli Off Limits, um estúdio de produção nos anos noventa, criando música para vários artistas, inclusive Whigfield, J.K. e Ally & Jo.
