Pour les deux personnes que ça intéresse : pas d'articles Wikipedia sur Revelino effectivement, mais un article (en) sur Brendan Tallon, chanteur du feu groupe... et même un site "officiel", bien caché, où l'on apprend que Revelino est né de la réunion des cendres de deux obscurs groupes irlandais, The Dixons et The Coltranes, et qui, après avoir livré 3 albums (Revelino en 1995, Broadcaster en 1996 et To The End en 2001) s'est dissout dans deux non moins obscures formations, Blue Ghost à la chanteuse a jolies jambes et Beatclub, Ireland's top Corporate Party and Wedding Band d'après leur site (leurs services sont à louer pour convention, anniversaire, bar mitzvah ou autre...) où officie désormais Brendan Tallon.

Il semblerait qu'il y ait un probleme qui empeche certains utilisateurs de Firefox 3 d'écouter les mp3 avec le dewplayer que j'utilise pour ce blog...ceci est du à un problème avec le plug in flash... pour le moment, je n'ai trouvé aucune solution simple pour y remédier...si quelqu'un a une idée, qu'il me la fasse parvenir, merci.

It seems some Firefox 3 users can't listen mp3 files of this site with dewplayer (the flash mp3 player i use for this blog), due to a bug of the flash plug in... For now, I don't know how to fix the problem in a simple way... if someone has a solution, it's welcome.

Experience est de retour...je suis complétement passé à côté, notamment à côté du concert au Point Ephemere le 29 avril.
Bref le nouvel album "Nous (en) sommes encore là" est en écoute un peu ici:

Sur le blog on peut d'ailleurs lire ceci (parlant du concert de Toulouse):

"Avant ça, on a fait une longue balance avec nos invités, et déjà, c'était un peu la fête qui commençait.Arnaud a fait un très bon set, je n'ai pas pu tout voir mais je sais que ça a fonctionné, on s'est bien amusés aussi, d'une autre manière, bien qu'un peu crevés par la vie de ces dernières semaines. Puis sont venus les guests (Mary Jane étant plutôt une résidente intermittente d'EXP), rappel avec Arm qui a fait un titre à lui en intro, puis à nouveau "La république invisible", encore meilleure qu'à Paris, et enfin un titre avec Arnaud bossé pour l'occasion avec aussi R au synthé, qui semble émouvoir certaines personnes, on était pas émus, juste contents, enfin ça faisait un peu bizarre mais en même temps c'était très naturel."

Un certain Regan me remercie par mail de lui avoir permis de remettre la main sur Revelino. Il me dit qu'il a découvert ce groupe à Nulle Part Ailleurs.
Je ne sais plus si j'ai découvert Whipping Boy sur NPA ou chez Bernard Lenoir, dont j'étais auditeur assidu à l'époque, mais leur prestation sur Canal + m'a réellement marquée. Le morceau "We don't need nobody else" joué ce soir là est extrait de leur deuxième et avant dernier album à ce jour, Heartworm.

Promis, bientôt un (ou plusieurs) titre(s) de leur Black Session.

On ne trouve presque rien sur le net à propos de Revelino: pas de site officiel, ou non-officiel, pas de myspace, rien... Le groupe irlandais s'était fait connaitre aux alentours de 1994 avec ce merveilleux Happiness Is Mine, découvert pour ma part, si mes souvenirs sont bons, lors d'une nuit de clips indé sur M6 (et oui...)
Heureusement, il y a quelques blogs : MP3Hunger (que je remercie au passage pour m'avoir envoyé le MP3 de Happiness Is Mine) et Box Set Go (blog à visiter, qui met l'album de Revelino à disposition) pour se souvenir de ce groupe sympathique.

Dylan Municipal (le site, myspace, le label), sur ce "un pote m'écrit des montagnes" est à la croisée de Mendelson et du Diabologum de "une histoire de séduction", dans la lignée de l'immense "fils du soldat inconnu" de Nonstop, et parce que ce n'est pas si simple, trouble tout cela d'une voix étrange, à l'accent de nulle part, parfois essouflée, parfois trainante, fatiguée.

En attendant un retour à l'anormal de Radiohead, allons faire un petit tour du côté d'un autre groupe lui aussi aventureux et subtil: Talk Talk (qui a beaucoup influencé Radiohead, probablement), avec un extrait du merveilleux Spirit Of Eden. C'est un peu une gageure d'en extraire un titre, puisque l'album est conçu pour être écouté sans coupures (les 3 premiers morceaux forment un premier triptyque, initialement réunie sur la face A de l'album, les 3 suivants sur la face B). Desire est le sommet du premier triptyque.

A cette époque, Public Enemy défendait la cause Noire, KRS One pronait l'éducation comme arme ultime, et le petit blanc middle class français que j'étais ne perdait pas une miette de tout ce qui passait dans Rapline sur M6.
