SOMERS POINT – Get out the Philco, it’s time to turn back the clocks to the days when radio was the center of entertainment.

The In-House Players out of Northfield are taking their talented cast to Somers Point where they will perform a two-day fundraiser production for the Gateway Playhouse fund Saturday, June 2, and Sunday, June 3.

The show, “The WAKY Radio Show, 1940 on Your Dial” is a nostalgic look back at shows that hit the airwaves in the 1930s and 40s. The show is written by Dodie Peronace of Northfield, founder and director of the In House Players. Ken Groome of EggHarborTownship is the WAKY producer.

The audience will enjoy hearing the Hit Parade songs, excerpts from popular comedy skits of the day and of course, the wartime news. Sitting in the audience, you might be chosen as a contestant for “Queen for a Day,” “Name that Tune,” “Truth or Consequences” or “Professor IQ Quiz.”

Hear the news and sports of the day, catch up on the Hollywood gossip and just enjoy a leisurely trip down memory lane.

If You Go
