2012-04-07T06:15:00.010-07:00

Hello everyone! I was off for nearly six months! And within those months, a lot of things happened....garden in and garden out. haha! Right in the middle of the Christmas Season, our store opened a new department, selling curtains, pillows, furnitures and some home improvement goods. I was the one in-charge of the said department, thus the lack of time to update this blog. But the

2011-10-09T08:37:00.000-07:00

It's been a while since I "strolled" around our village house...the past home of my plants(majority of them). We have two ponds located just in front of the main door entrance and the mini pond on the right side of the house. I bought some Water Hyacinth two months ago and placed it on top of my brothers biological water filter. It bloomed today with very interesting lavender flowers which has

We learned in high school that Biology is the branch of science which focuses on the study of living things, organisms that have...LIFE. We were also introduced to the three(3) out of five(5)2 Life Kingdoms on earth namely: Kingdom Animalia, Kingdom Fungi and Kingdom Plantae. I think Kingdom Monera(Bacteria) was also

New Kingdom's Garden

2011-09-16T06:45:00.000-07:00

My friends and family members know that caring for plants is one of the things that would very well describe me. It has always been a challenge for me to buy plants from the local nurseries and try my best to survive them, and hopefully make them bloom again in the future. However, most of the time, my plants die after a week or months if they're lucky enough. The longest living plant that I was

2011-09-10T18:48:00.000-07:00

Given a very sunny morning last Friday in our city, I had the chance to check out my plants in the small garden. I still had to repair some wiring and supports damaged by the non-stop rains but was given an opportunity to relax in the garden during that rain-free morning. Surprisingly, my bat plant bloomed! I got her sometime in April or May this year and haven't seen her bloom. I am so lucky

Yucca-razy? Yes I am!

2011-08-28T03:13:00.000-07:00

My Yucca cutting is starting to leaf-out! I had three cuttings of these from our friendly neighbor when they "trimmed" down their tree. I am not really sure though if this is a member of the Yucca family. But whatever it is, I am very glad I did something extraordinary! Here are some photos of the cuttings.

My Senior Member: Red Hibiscus (Gumamela)

2011-08-27T17:10:00.000-07:00

One of my oldest living plant in the garden is a Red Hibiscus or Gumamela in Filipino. I really love the big blooms it gives us all through out the year. It blooms almost every day! Sometimes it it attacked by the white monsters and suffers from yellowing leaves, but with simple grooming, my Red Gumamela survives and continuously shows off her great red blooms. Here are some of its recent

Another half of a year has passed and still….I have not written anything new in my blog. But today, is a very special day because…I am writing a new post! Hehehe!I am excited to inform you that I got hooked on doing a little more sophisticated gardening activity in the middle of writing and “finalizing” my thesis about a year ago. In the past, my gardening can be described in two words, “

A Critique on Venture Capital Investments

2011-01-15T17:06:00.000-08:00

This is yet another one of my reaction/reflection/critique on a journal article we reviewed in our MS Finance class. The article entitled "EXITING VENTURE CAPITAL INVESTMENTS: LESSONS FROM FINLAND" was written by Yrkkö, Hyytinen and Liukkonen in 2001. Yes, I also had a hard time reading their names. hehe.-----------------------
