1. Hort Park
   In my opinion, although Singapore botanical gardens got the UNESCO Heritage Site award, Hort Park is way better for pre wedding photos than Singapore Botanic Gardens. The place is smaller, but the surroundings are picture perfect. In fact, if you want to see more flora, then check out Botanic Gardens… If you want nice pre wedding photos, which I am sure both you and your spouse REALLY want, then make sure to go to Hort Park. An easily accessible park either via public or private transport, Hort Park is a great location for couples (and it is also popular) to have their wedding pictures taken at in Singapore.
2. Tuas Lallang Fields (Or Punggol Lallang Fields)
   Both of these places will let you take amazing pre wedding pictures, but they are located on the opposite ends of Singapore. This means that depending on which part of Singapore you live closer to, you can go to that location so that you will save your time.
3. Pulau Ubin
   This is a rare place that few couples go to have their wedding photographs taken. However, for couples who want a rustic feel to their wedding photographs, there is no place better in Singapore than Pulau Ubin to take such photographs.

At the lower levels of competency, it is always about the technicalities and skills the photographer has. But did you notice that at the highest levels of competency, it is always about the ‘feel’? The good photographers will always have great technical skills and are able to execute the photos, and they will be taken or edited to the right amount of exposure as well as saturation, colour, warmth, e.t.c. However, that is about it. The great photographers are able to bring out emotions from the type of wedding pictures they take, and also, they are able to make you, a person looking at the photos, feel as though you were there at the wedding event or at least at the pre wedding photo shoot venue in Singapore!

I have mentioned before that I used Grandeur Wedding Studio, as my local prewedding photographer of choice after an indepth research, and from the photographs that they took for me, it’s safe to say that I made the right choice.

• First of all, I wanted outdoor wedding photography. And because Grandeur Wedding Studio does that in Singapore, it was one of the 3 to 5 shortlisted companies I have found, because I like the photographs they have taken too.
• Second of all, I contacted them via their contact form, and Alvin from Grandeur Wedding Studio approached me and immediately sent me the price list within a few minutes of me contacting him. I thought that was really quick and so I dived into his price list first because no one else responded that quickly to my queries.
• Third of all, I found their prices very reasonable, and that is why they were still in my list. At $1300 to $1800 for most of their prices, I think that is a very reasonable price to pay a good pre wedding photographer in Singapore.
• I gave them a call finally, to find out more about how everything is going to happen on the actual shoot day, as well as to make myself more comfortable with them since I am going to be engaging them for something so important as a wedding photoshoot. He was really professional, and he assigned me his bridal photographer, who then contacted me that same day within 1 hour of the phone call I had with Alvin. He arranged the photoshoot venues with me, and my fiance and I turned up and had our shoot.
• The day went very smoothly and very soon, everything was done, and we went back. After 2 days, I received a message from Grandeur Wedding Studio, and was told that they had emailed me some teaser photos for the wedding! I was beyond excited yet nervous at the same time, hoping hard that I had indeed made the right choice. Phew!!! I opened the emails and the photos looked much better than I thought it would! Now I couldn’t wait for the rest of the photographs.
• All in all, I thought it was a very good experience and I had paid a good amount for their value adding services. One thing I thought they could include, for a small sum would be the choice to have my photographs printed out in hardcopy, as they only specialize in softcopy photographs (though they do tell every customer that up front before you even try to sign up).

First of all, you should figure out what type of wedding photos you and your spouse wants. This is important, and do not go out looking for a wedding photographer without first figuring out what you want. Not knowing what you want will make your search very tough, because you would not be able to know if a photographer is right for you, even when you meet him or her!

Second of all, once you have figured that out, what you want to do next is to look online and find around 3 to 5 favorite photographers, whose photographs you love. They can be small studios, big studios or individual photographers. The key is that the type of photographs they have is the type you like.

Third of all, after you have zoomed in on the favorite 3 to 5 photographers, email them or call them and find out about their packages (unless they already list it online). Once you have got that, what you want to do is to move onto the next step.

Fourth of all, since you are supposed to like all the photographers portfolio equally, now you want to choose about 3 of them which price range falls into your budget (note: not necessarily the cheapest, but 2 to 3 of them which falls into your budget range.

Finally, what you want to do is to talk to the studio / photographer either via call or email. I personally email first to see their response time, and then give them a call during the closing periods.

First of all, most Chinese couples usually hold their weddings at a restaurant or a hotel ballroom. This means that you usually may need to book in advance of 1 to 2 years if you want to get married at a very popular hotel or restaurant at a very popular time to get married. If you find that you are not able to book during your desired time, no problem, Singapore has many great restaurants and ballrooms, and most of them are of high quality, hence you can simply pick another one. The key to this point is that you MUST book in advance and as early as possible.

Second of all, you are going to need a bridal dress and a suit for your future husband for the wedding day ceremony. Other than finding a bridal dress you love, it is important that the fitting looks good on you! Certain dresses look better on certain women, while others look perfectly gorgeous for other women. The key to finding a great wedding gown is not only to look at the gowns at a bridal shop, but to test it out. Yes, usually testing beyond the first 1 or 2 dresses will require money – that is why weddings are not a cheap affair. However, as marriage is a once in a lifetime event, make sure you look your very best, and make sure to buy or rent the right gown which will look great on you.

Third of all, you need a photographer for your actual wedding day photography in Singapore. Finding a photographer usually does not require as advance of booking as much as that of booking a location for your wedding, but it should still generally be 2 to 6 months prior to your actual day wedding ceremony in Singapore.

The above are all important administrative things you need to do for your wedding day. The key is to make sure you do them in advance to ensure there will be no last minute mistakes!
