How is everyone's week going? I just wanted to let you know that as the West Coast judge for H&M's 50 States of Fashion contest, I've chosen my winner, Alicia from Alaska! who will be receiving a $250 H&M gift card, and will now be in the running to win a grand prize shopping spree, plus a trip for two to The Big Apple!

It was actually quite hard for me to pick just one since my West Coasters were in so many great outfits. I debated all the way to the end (I'm usually not this indecisive!) but chose the winner who had a knack of mixing and matching. She paired a striped blazer with camo pants, and added a pop of yellow to her outfit, see her winning look here. So fun and so fall appropriate! A fall outfit that I definitely want to recreate when the weather gets cooler.

Speaking of fall.. I jumped the gun and started dressing like it was fall in California. Remember these boots that I was quite obsessed with last time? Well, I wore them again. When it gets chillier, I'm planning on pairing them with leggings and super oversized sweaters!

Another item I love from H&M. I've been eyeing these shorts since I saw them on the runway when I was in Paris for H&M's Autumn/Winter 2013 collection. I like how the studs and criss cross detailing on the sides set them apart from your typical leather shorts. I also like how thick and soft the leather is.

Transitioning into Fall at Home

As summer is slowly coming to an end, all of my latest purchases have been fall clothes and as much as I am into fall clothes, I'm into fall decor. There are so many simple and affordable ways to spruce up your home for the upcoming months of fall. Since H&M just launched their home collection into the US market which is available online, I updated my living room with some of their products.

I love the color of these pillows as well as the texture. Instead of placing identical pillows, it's much more interesting to the eyes if you place different sized pillows and use different textures. Can you guess which one cost $5.95 and which one cost $19.95? I mean, you seriously can't beat these prices.

Another great way to bring fall into your home is with candles and candle holders. I have candles all year long but I couldn't resist these copper/rose gold candle holders from H&M. My tip is to bundle candles together on a table in various heights and sizes.

Btw, it's still not too late to enter the "50 States of Fashion" contest! Today is the last day to enter so better hurry! White tee, white flares, and rose gold jewelry. Even though I love color and over accessorizing, I still find beauty in simplicity. Just because flares are a 70's staple, it doesn't mean you have to wear it like you're from the 70's. I took a modern spin on them by styling it with a simple tee and rose gold jewelry from the Tiffany & Co. Atlas collection.

One of my favorite piece of jewelry that I own from Tiffany & Co. is a silver bangle from the Atlas collection (seen here and here) so of course, I'm head over heels for the rose gold version. You know me, I love goooooold (in Goldmember from Austin Power's voice lol.)

If you've been following me on instagram, you know that I've been wearing the rose gold Atlas collection everyday ever since I first got it. What I love most about the collection is that each piece is so simple and timeless. Best of all, it looks great with simple outfits like this as well as other outfits I've been wearing. Also, as I slowly prepare for NYFW, I'm excited and honored to announce that I'll be hosting an event with Tiffany & Co. in New York as well as other cities. Will share more info later!

When it comes to flares, wear your highest heels or wedges so the bottom of your flares don't drag on the floor. If not, they should be altered. I need to get mine trimmed an inch or so, so that I can wear them with my usual heels.

Summer Boyfriend Jeans

How was everyone's weekend? These photos were taken in Korea where it was very hot and humid. I did my research and packed a lot of shorts and breezy clothes for this trip but I also packed a few pairs of jeans as well.

There was no way I could wear skinny jeans in this humid weather, so I resorted to these boyfriend jeans. Between you and me (and everyone else) I was secretly sweating a bit in these jeans too but I wasn't doing much walking outside plus I was in shorts for the rest of my trip in Korea.

Peek-a-bra! I wanted to show off my gold leather bralette so I wore a muscle tee. At first I had a loose deep crew neck tank on with the bra peeking out but I looked like a 90's back up dancer.. all I needed was a bandana! haha

Since my tank and boyfriend jeans give off a really casual and slightly messy vibe, I finished the look off with a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti's. I've worn these with a different pair of boyfriend jeans back here.

Printed Jeans

I love jeans. Boyfriend jeans, skinny jeans, distressed jeans, mom jeans, dad jeans (if there is such a thing?) you name it. I love all kinds of jeans and one of them are printed jeans. Printed jeans are a great alternative to your blue jeans and they aren't actually that hard to style despite what most people think. Below are some of my tips on how to style printed jeans.

Pair it with a white tee. The easiest way to style printed jeans is with a white tee. When you're styling it with printed skinny jeans, find a white tee that's slightly loose. Some of my favorites are here, here, and here.

I subtly added leopard heels to my white snakeprint jeans.

White tee makes it easy to accessorize too.

Wearing a printed Joe's Jeans and Rachel Roy heels.

Current Elliot also makes great printed jeans that are easy to wear such as this one and this one.

Even a white blouse or shirt goes perfectly with printed jeans. The key to this is to make the jeans stand out while keeping the outfit simple.

Camouflage (or "camo") jeans are surprisingly easy to wear because of its neutral colors. I like bringing out the black from the jeans and pairing it with a black top. (similar pair here and here)

or add a little denim into the mix.

and if you're feeling a little brave, bring in a little bit of color too!

When styling printed jeans, shoes matter a lot. Go with something plain or in a neutral color (with spikes!) I love styling my printed jeans with simple high heel sandals as oppose to boots or something chunky.

I styled my pastel jeans with these bright Zara sandals. They're bright, but simple and match the colors of my jeans and purse.

These printed jeans from Gap don't really count as printed jeans in my opinion since they're so neutral. In this case, I threw in some color.

When mixing prints, an easy way is to try to stick with one colorway.

Floral jeans. Floral jeans aren't just for spring. I wear mine all year along just by styling it with an appropriate top.

Did you guys have a great weekend? I've been in Korea lately and the weather in Korea was so humid that it's refreshing to see these photos of me covered up taken before my trip.

I wore a simple white blazer and white cami with my Rag and Bone jeans for work. When I'm busy and cramped on time (which seems to be almost everyday for me,) I like to pick out simple things to wear such as jeans. Distressed jeans have always been a favorite of mine since they add an extra element compare to regular skinny jeans.

As I get older, I tend to stay away from floral patterns especially since a lot of them tend to be too cutesy for me. However, this one caught my eye because of the structured flared shape and bold colors. I picked this skirt up about a year ago and probably would've styled it with a contrasting floral top back then. The Aimee of 2013, kept the rest of the outfit simple and clean with just a plain white tee and my favorite white heels from Gucci.

While looking around, I found several other floral skirts that don't necessarily give out the usual super girly vibe but more on the edgy side. I'm really liking the modern day floral prints a la Dries Van Noten S/S 2013. A little edgy and a little grunge...

How do you wear your florals? Any fun tips on how I should style this skirt differently?

This McQ Alexander McQueen leather zipper pencil skirt was love at first sight for me. The zipper details on this pencil skirt is so bad ass and the ruffles on the back are just icing on the cake and transforms this leather skirt from a bad ass skirt to something feminine. Also, this skirt gets extra points for making my lady hump look fuller than it really is.

I don't tend to wear all black often. It's only been recent that I started wearing more and more black actually so I styled my leather skirt with a simple v-neck for a day full of meetings. I'm planning to wear it with a crop top or a loose tank next time.

So obsessed with the ruffles on the back. It really makes this skirt much more interesting and is flattering for the 'behind.'

Another favorite part of mine is the zipper that goes all the way from the bottom to top. I can unzip as much as I want to... on special occasions! haha!

I always get so excited when it comes to photo shoots and my shoot with Lifestyle Mirror was particularly fun because I got to be a little obnoxious version of myself!

I really loved my hair and make-up for this shoot as well as the styling and art direction. Hair was done by Jarret Iovinella and my make up was done by Uzo who is a Nars make-up artist. After this shoot, Uzo definitely converted me to a Nars fan!

Thank you Alessandra and Olivia for such a fun time directing the shoot! Also special thanks to Olivia for all the cute clothes and photographer Frankie Batista!

I love laying on the hammock. It's so peaceful and makes me feel like I'm on vacation.

#48HourDeckProject. Wesley Mason decided he wanted to build a deck in our backyard so it took him two Saturdays to complete the project which is basically 48 hours. I tried to help him shovel but instead, I had him take a photo of me!

I brought these gorgeous pillow covers from Morocco and what better area to display them than the deck?

This is the day when the deck was finished! I can't believe he built it in just two Saturdays! I got the cushions made from my upholsterer and I really love how everything turned out.

The deck is my new favorite spot and of course I made s'mores every night! Kimono blouse from Zara and skirt from Anine Bing.

I got these awesome J Brand leather pants before I left for Kentucky a few weeks ago and I was just so eager to wear it but the weather wasn't cooperating. When the weather finally cooled down a little bit (75 degrees so still warm but not as hot), I jumped on the chance to wear my new leather pants! I really love the quilted details.

In H&M Autumn/Winter 2013

Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of going to Paris to attend H&M's Autumn/Winter 2013 Fashion Show and this look was one of the looks that made my heart stop a bit.

Well, the entire collection made my heart skip a beat. From this thick flare skirt that had beautiful cut out details to sheer pieces with pretty embellishments to structured wool jackets... Every piece was clearly eye catching.
Most of the A/W looks consisted of these well constructed, over the knee boots. I've been on a hunt for a great pair of over the knee boots for what seems like forever, and I'm so glad H&M came out with a version that's so versatile. I love that these can be worn both casual and dressy. I styled mine with a sheer embellished dress and balanced the sheerness out with this structured coat.

Well, I'm so excited that H&M's new online store launched in the US today! Now you can shop H&M any time you want, wherever you are!

The Perfect White Tee and Skinnies

A simple outfit like this makes my life so much easier when I'm cramped on time and feel too lazy to think of creative dressing solutions. Over the years, I realized that not all white tees are created equal and same goes for my jeans. I mean, I still love my basic $5 Hanes tees that come in a pack of threes but for a day out and about, I love a great quality tee that makes effortless dressing, effortless but still chic.

Here are my tips on how to pick the perfect white tee:

1) For a slouchy look (my fav) go with a softer material and for structure and shape, go with something thicker. Also I always put my hand under the shirt to see how transparent it is.

2) Neckline. V-necks are great for dainty necklaces and crew necks are great for statement necklaces.

3) Size Up. Unless the tees are oversized are suppose to be snug, I always like to size up (size M) so I can tuck my tee in my jeans. This way I don't get surprised when I accidentally dry them in the dryer for too long and they shrink a little.

4) Sleeve length. There is a perfect sleeve length for everyone! If you feel like your sleeves are too long, roll 'em up!

I love simple. But I love simple with an edge so I threw on these spiked out leopard pumps. I love the double zippers on these jeans.

Gypsy inspired peasant blouses are my favorite when it comes to wearing over a swimming suit. Even if you pick up your blouse locally (mine was from L.A.) peasant blouses give you that modern day world traveler look!

I wore mine over a ruched Sea Folly bikini from The Orchid Boutique. I normally don't like underwire bikini tops because it makes me look too booby (perfect, if you're going for the booby look) but I fell in love with the ruching on this bikini.

How is everyone's week going? I'm staying busy since I'm leaving for Korea next week and have so much work to finish before I leave! It's been so long since I was there so I'm excited and nervous at the same time.

This was my back to work outfit after my trip to Kentucky. Kentucky was so hot that when I got back to L.A., it didn't feel that hot despite the weather being somewhere in the 80's. Must be the dry heat in L.A.

I've worn the shorts version of these jeans from Rebecca Minkoff back here, and I've always had a weak spot for printed jeans so I couldn't resist these.

I know sometimes it can be intimidating to try printed jeans but I suggest pairing it with simple basics like a white tee, or pull a color from the pants and wear a top in a similar color family. If you're feeling bold, you can also try pairing it with a contrasting color!

Kept my armswag simple this day since I didn't want to compete against the printed jeans and the trimmed sleeves on my top.

I love anklets. My first memory of anklets is when my mom got me a bracelet and it was too big on me so she put it around my ankle instead. Whether you're putting a friendship bracelet (or embellished bracelet) around your ankles or a bracelet or even combining two bracelets to make one anklet like I did... (the heart anklet is an actual anklet) anklets are a fun way to somewhat dress up your feet.
