I don't always have my camera with me, but I usually have my phone. The pictures may be blurry or grainy, but I am so glad I have a way to capture the moments through the week that I might forget! It is so fun to sift through them on Friday and remember those little moments throughout the week... usually I find myself with a wide smile as I go through them!

Now this was a project I'd been wanting to do for a while!
My husband is a trash to treasure kind of guy. He finds the most amazing things. Usually a trash or "dumpster dive" as we like to call them goes like this...
Brian: Hey, did you see that?
Me: Yeah, I don't think they are actually throwing it away. I think they just put it next to the curb to paint or something.
Brian: No way - that is definitely in the trash.
Me: (As we pass it) Do you really think so?
Brian: Yup. Want me to turn around?
Me: Nope.
A few blocks later....
Me: Hey, do you think they were really throwing that away?
Brian: Yup.
Me: Can we turn around and you ask them if they are really throwing that away?
Brian: Yup.
The fountain wasn't working anymore, so Brian snipped off the cord for me.
Rocks, dirt and succulents later - voila!
Right now, it greets me as I walk out of the front door. Pretty soon, I'll have to move it inside so that it doesn't catch on fire in the 120 degree heat - but I won't mind having this handsome guy inside with me!

It is that time of year. The sun comes up so very early. Here in the desert, the house is usually bright with morning by 6am.
I'm greeted each morning by requests to braid hair, a cry to change a wet diaper and hysterically searching for shoes.
I'm waking up with a new person in the house.
It's amazing how quickly a little stranger can become part of everyday.
Little guy is just part of life now... in the absolute best way. We just passed one month of him sleeping here - in our home.
He takes a bath in our bathtub. He sleeps on our pillows. They have now become his.
What is "ours" is becoming "his". Beautiful.
He helps me take Nate to school in the morning and then he and I just hang out together - running errands, eating lunch, naptime and waiting for the kids to get home from school.
I am treasuring these days. They are blessed.
A very dear friend, Laura, allowed me to come into the hospital room and share a special moment with her family as they welcomed their new little one into the world!
Photographing in a hospital room can be a little challenging - tight quarters, necessary interruptions from nurses and staff and crazy lighting.
When I am in a situation like this, I try to just focus on the story. What is happening? What are the emotions in the room?
