It's amazing! The camera pictures and videos that you can take are clear, you can put nes, game boy, and game boy color games on it easily. One thing about it is that the buttons for the games are kind of deep and a bit hard to press maybe because its new, I don't know. Also the volume is low when you plug in the earphones and I can't find a way to take off the sound when playing games. It's simple - if you want the best sound of all time, buy this. I've played music on dozens of MP3 players, including the iPod (snore), the latest Samsung P3, the Cowon S9, the amazing-sounding previous generation iRivers, etc. - and I come back to this one every time. No other player can render this level of fidelity, with this full a sound, with this rich and well-rounded a bass. My litmus test is to 1) play a superb yet dynamically demanding recording (e.g., disc 2 of Hybrid's Soundsystem 01 - a very dense and complex techno recording that requires a good player to do justice to all of the detail), 2) with superb buds (Shure SE530), and 3) without EQ or FX of any kind. Only the Sony is able to do full justice without any sound augmentation. And it does it time and time again, on any kind of music you throw at it. Yes, i have some nits - the inability to change the speed at which one can fast-forward through a long piece key among them. But ultimately what I want from an MP3 player is awesome sound and this delivers it in spades. Also, the physical construction is simply excellent - it is wonderfully slim, yet dense thanks to the significant steel component. The dedicated volume rocker is perfect. Finally, battery life is unreal. The accompanying earbuds are also very good but definitely toast up the bass a lot -- too much so in my view.

(Note -- the more currently available and similar-looking NWZ438F does not deliver as good sound as this one - as I found to my disappointment. I bought this mp3 about a week ago for only $40.00 (I found out it went into clearance a few days after my purchase, with a 50% off. I wonder why?). I thought it would be good and easy to use. I use to have the much superior NW-S205F 2GB from two years ago that my wife gave me.That particular model was perfect even though I had to use Sonicstage that most people complain about it I don't know why. It got too much sun exposure so it broke.

Since that model was discontinued, I decided to buy this new model thinking it would be a sure thing. Wrong!I couldn't download any songs/cd. The process was very troublesome and difficult. In Sonicstage all you had to do was download your cd and that was it. It was real easy. Now with this thing you can't.Recorded and re-recorded my cd about a hundred of times.When I finally could download something for some reason it deleted the three cd that I downloaded. And I said this is it.I got tired of it after a week and threw it into the garbage where it belongs.Don't buy this. It's not worth it. I purchased the samsung 16g p3 mp3 from another distributor, received it on Thurs 8/28/09, had a chance to download music on Sat 8/30/09. There was a software issue and after 1 hour on the phone with tech support, was told to mail it back to Samsung. Samsung's "repair" company recieved my unit on 9/2/2009. Today is 9/25/2009 and I have no repaired unit nor a replacement unit. It took 2 weeks for them to finally agree to replace the unit (which was NEVER even assesed by a technician) and as of 9/23/09 I've been told that Samsung will not issue a refund and it will be another 7 to 14 days to receive a new unit. It is now too late to receive a refund from the distributor in which I purchased the unit once I even receive the new one. I have been reseaching Samsung since this has happened and find I am not alone. This is happening in the US, Canada, and UK. PLEASE CONSIDER PURCHASING FROM ANOTHER COMPANY!!!! This is a great little mp3 player. I am doing a lot of running and working out now, and the pedometer/stopwatch function and heart rate monitor functions are very useful for that. It's also small and inobtrusive, and pretty sturdy. I haven't had to test its water resistance, but it's taken a few drops and bangs along the way. The sound quality is crisp and clear, and the interface is simple and easy to use. While battery life is such that, if you're wearing it while working out for an hour or so and listening to music, even with daily workouts you can go for over a week without needing recharging.

I bought this for my daughter (she is 6). Overall, we have been happy with it (she is not a big complainer). Anyway, this MP3 does seem to have a mind of it's own at times. It does not rewind at times, does not play at times. However, I have found that if I move the tracks around it starts working properly again. But hey, for the price, I am not going to complain! The types of annoying things that it does may get on an adult's nerves, but my daughter loves it and waits patiently while I fix it for her. I used to own another model coby and it did the same "weird" things that this one does, so maybe a higher priced coby would be better (or maybe another brand if you don't want to take the risk).
