I just received a very welcome surprise in my mailbox yesterday from my friends at LiQWD. My hair is in love with their products. I have always held steadfast in my belief that beauty comes from within. However, LiQWD products do have me convinced that sometimes science can enhance beauty as my hair looks and feels noticeably richer, fuller and more animated after using their shampoos and conditioners. And to top things off, their packaging and correspondence stationery is absolutely luxurious.

What a lovely way to launch the Fall season at Soolip. New York-based designer Alfred Stadler and partner Wendy Wen, joined Wanda Wen and the Soolip family in an exhibition, "Felt . Paper . Leather" curated by Stadler, on the warm evening of August 26. Stadler debuted his stunning leather and felt collection of personal, desk and home accessories to a welcoming crowd of Soolip friends, clients and press. If you were not able to join us, please come by our new store at 548 Norwich Drive, West Hollywood and view the exhibit and Alfred Stadler's collection. I recently toured The Archer School for Girls, a well-respected all-girls school in Brentwood, California. In one of the hallways, I stumbled upon a breathtaking wall of artwork created by the students, all having utilized plain, flat brown paper bags, and white gauze. A stunning view because there were 30 pieces in total and best of all, completely unexpected.

Summer is here! Gardens are abloom. This is a perfect time to harvest some flowers, press them between thick book pages (make sure to protect the book pages with paper towels or loose papers sandwiching the flowers), and adhere the "good" side onto the sticky side of regular standard 2" packing tape. Simplicity and resourcefulness at its best. This project, and many more, are featured in Wanda's book, The Art of Gift Wrapping.
