Time for a song. Like most of the Soul Amp songs it's an odd one:

It seems the story of life is to just keep plugging away. I've watched my mom do it. And my dad did it to. Therein lies the beauty of life. Not giving up and continuing to grow and enjoy what we have around us, right? Well that and beer (in moderation). That's what I think. You might think something different, but maybe that's what the freaky song above is mostly about I think as well as dealing with what people think of you including your friends and family.... and well you might find the following two photos strange to look at (don't let them freak you out too much)...I'll tell you how I did it sometime:

So sorry to be absent for so long. I think I just went into a bit of a creative slump. I hope to get back to music as well. But here's a couple of odd photos (with more to come) of a Chinese bird sculpture or object or whatever it might be called (it's very cool...it opens) that appears to be floating in midair. It's a little trick to get it to float (no I didn't toss it into the air)...I'll tell you how in a later blog (I have more of these floating object pics to post). I think they are a bit mind bending, but that's just me. I figure they fit the song. Enjoy.

Here's another story of a smashed finger contributed by a reader named Elizabeth who is a clarinet player:

howdy
glad to see your fingernail grew out all right
im not so sure mine will be a whole finger wide
as i split the matrix where the nail gets made
its growing in kinda weird and the 'disolving' stitches
are in the way of progress
alas..at week 5.5
dang car doors!

i did this to myself, popped it like a grape
broke the bone and the nail came right off
i think the open wound took the agony of the pressure build up away
because once the lidocaine wore off it wasn't too agonizing!

I took this composite image from our office window and I found it odd enough to post. It's a goose's foot prints leading to an American flag at a Toyato car dealership in a haze of pollution (of course, the goose is not really walking all the way there... it's an illusion). But how symbolic eh? It's in a vertical format because it's a composite of four images. I took four pics one right after another leaving enough for Photoshop to stitch together. If people are hurting you, then don't worry about them...that's what I say. Oh oh, I explained my song. I really don't like doing that. Really, when I wrote, I had no idea what it meant, but now that's what it means to me. Interpret it as you like. It's just a silly song:

It took me a bit to get around to posting these images (and I have a few more posts of them coming up), but here's some of the December blizzard (12/8/2009) images from Wisconsin 2009. It turned out to be not as big a deal in Milwaukee storm-wise, but it snapped off one of my trees (be boom, but no damage to the house). It's just amazing how little snow they got at the lake, while inland it was pretty good dumping. Enjoy the pics and music!

Here's more late autumn forest pics in moon light like the ones posted earlier today. I dig the picnic table that got crushed by the tree. The exposures were about a minute (about the time it took me to run around with the flashlight).

These photos were taken in Greenfield park at the end of autumn. The leaves have all fallen and a 3/4 moon is out to cast shadows. I used a flashlight to paint the scene. If I hadn't told you that, would you have figure out where the lights on the ground were coming from?

It was so dark that without the flashlight I couldn't make out much of anything. The lights make it kind of "elfin", huh? A picnic pavillion.

Here's some more autumn leaves and hopeful pictures for you all to gander at. It's a beautiful morning in the double you eye (that's WI). I hope you had a scrumptious Thanksgiving and enjoy all your leftovers and all the black Friday (BF) shopping (you are such crazy, braves souls out there fighting for deals). Here's an odd confessional/seeking/searching type song. You might like it, you might hate it. Not sure how I feel about it, but it sure the heck matches the pics... you have to at least agree about that... right? So take it out for a listen:

I know this next photo is a cliche....so what?... it fires my spark plugs with the sun and all that... and it was pain to take (lots of trial and error). (You try holding a camera with one hand and catch a leaf with the other...=) ) Besides the tree shooting to the sky in the background is also pretty interesting.

But I bet a lot of you like it. Seems kind of hopeful, doesn't it? So am I catching the leaf, or am I throwing it? Right? shhhhh....don't tell anyone... I'm throwing it.

I think the next two pics are even better. Leaves floating in the air at sunrise as the trees spin above. I think I may have to try that it again. It came out quite nicely.).
