There are some people who you meet that always have a story to tell – for me it was like a double hit of coffee this morning when I ran into Sherro (infamous local surfer). If he wasn’t such a great surfer you’d walk away from his stories and think it’s just a load of rubbish. With all the sizing up of conditions and surfing abilities it seemed to shine through that there were plenty of waves to catch, but you’d better not wait too long. True to the word – the tide changed & swell dropped… Hope all were satisfied with a few days of delightful weather and nice waves. Enjoy!

Happy Australia Day ~ was great to see the sun or at least a glare in the sky. Also saw some local Byron boys ripping in the Junior World Championships again today at Burleigh Heads. Both Garrett Parkes & Sol Bailey made it through Round 3 & will be back to surf again in the last Round tomorrow or the next day – Yeeeeew! Dirty brown water, but very favourable conditions with lite winds all day and a slightly more settled swell made for a very enjoyable day of viewing from the point. Byron Bay Surf Photographer – Levi Tsanov… In between all this rain there was a splash of sunshine. It appeared through the clouds around lunch time and lasted about an hour – but it was sooo good! The second day of the World Junior Championships were on today at Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast. The swell has been dropping off over the weekend & was only around 1-2 ft by midday. Fortunately enough, the women were able to get through Round 1 & into the Second Heat of Round 2. The surfing was phenomenal even in these smaller waves. The water is still around 24-25 degrees & there was enough shelter from the wind to make for some enjoy conditions. Hope you all had a great weekend. Cheers ~ Levi
