If you been following my blog from the start you know that one of my first posts was the first project of Erick Arc Elliot named "Noir". Ever since a friend of mine introduced me to his music, I have been following him around and enjoying his work. His music is refreshing and unlikely to most of the rappers he is not busy with making singles or being a just a "rapper" but more with being creative and being a true artist, and that is something I respect. A lot of people slept on his previous projects but I'm glad that I see his work pop up more and more often on the internet. You can stream and download the complete album on his bandcamp.

"Born in 1969 in Reading, UK, Martin Wheeler started recording in his teens, influenced by the sounds of Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode and Suicide. A ‘geek’ before the term was in common use, Wheeler became a computer games designer at 16 and went on to develop over 25 titles for ZX Spectrum, Atari ST, PC, Nintentdo SNES and Gameboy before returning to music with the release of his first single as Vector Lovers in 2003. The split 7” featuring the now classic ‘Tokyo Glitterati’ on the innovative Static Caravan label won support from leftfield DJs the world over, including John Peel and Mute Records founder Daniel Miller. The follow-up EP ‘Roboto Ashido Funk’ (self-released on his Iwari micro imprint) featured on the coverdiscs of DJ magazine and Jockey Slut, prompting offers from major and indie labels and culminating in Vector Lovers signing to seminal Glasgow techno label, Soma Records in 2004.

Since then, Wheeler has recorded three albums and played venues across Europe, including Fabric, Arena Berlin, The Loft, 100 Club, Indigo (Istanbul), The Sugar Factory, Le Triptyque, Club 69, Pressure @ The Arches, The Sub-Club, T in The Park, Connect Festival, Lattitude Festival, Bloc Weekend, Synch Festival, Panoptica, Festival Polmadi (Ljubliana) and Plektrum (Tallin).

Remixing and production work has seen collaborations with artists as diverse as Tracey Thorn, Ladytron, Husky Rescue, Lillian Hak, Alex Smoke, Diefenbach, Tim Wright, The Black Dog, Slam, Funk D’Void, Mark Henning, Transparent Sound, Justine Electra and My Robot Friend. From derelict neon soundscapes to future robot funk, Vector Lovers’ fusion of deep, quirky electro and precise melodic intuition has provided memorable soundtracks for television, film and advertising.

In March 2008 Vector Lovers designed the DR1 Dr Drone synthesizer, released to growing acclaim from electronic producers. Now working on a fourth album, Martin spends most of his time recording at home in Berlin where he lives with his wife and two children above a vintage radio shop."

"While his formative years were spent listening to everything from Yes to Photek, Scott Hansen didn't get his hands on an actual guitar or drum machine until he left his native Sacramento for San Francisco in 1995. "Encountering this whole new world at 20 years old was a profound experience," says Hansen, better known by his musical pseudonym Tycho and as the graphic artist ISO50. "At the time, I was just learning the processes of design and music; both felt very similar, and have flowed back and forth for me ever since."

As seamless as his two creative outlets have been, nearly a decade passed before the release of Hansen's first proper Tycho LP, Sunrise Projector (later expanded and reissued under the title Past Is Prologue). And while three striking singles have emerged since then, the sum of all those sepia-toned parts is nowhere near the double-exposed soundscapes of Dive. The product of a prolonged break from IS050's design work and blog, it pays tribute to Tycho's prismatic past (the dense, guitar-guided turning points of "Daydream" and "Adrift") but spends most of its time pointing to the project's not-so-distant future.

That can mean any number of things, really, from the halcyon hooks and hopeful horizons of "A Walk" to the expansive, wildly expressive tone poetry of the title track, an eight-minute epic that unfolds like a compressed concept album. Or at the very least, a restless vision of prog-rock—one that's been coated in neon colors and filtered through a thick piece of blotter paper. And then there's "Elegy," a spare curtain closer that pairs a vulnerable crescendo with a fitting bridge to future works.

And with that, Dive establishes its position as the most diverse musical statement of Hansen's multi-medium career; the point where his skills as a performer finally catch up with his vaporized vision of a world that doesn't belong to any particular time or place.

"Nostalgia is a common thread in my work," says Hansen, "but this album wasn't driven by that idea. I see these songs as artifacts from a future which might have more in common with our past than our present."

Hours is the first single that the world get's to hear from Ghostly International's Tycho. Currently he is working on a new LP named Dive which is planned to be released somewhere in November. I love the beautiful dreamscape that this man creates with his music. His Coastal Break record is one of the most laid back tracks I've ever heard in my life!

"Kids These Days comes from Chicago but their music comes from everywhere. With three horns, a rapper, a blues-rock trio and a female singer, KTD blends a wide range of influences -- hip-hop, jazz, soul, blues, and classic rock -- into a unique, fresh sound that breaks boundaries while honoring America’s musical heritage.

In their first 24 months, they have built a solid following, with over 10,000 fans on Facebook, who turn out for their high-energy, groove-oriented shows at clubs like Reggie’s, Hideout, Subterranean, Lincoln Hall and The Metro.

While still in their teens, they beat out 150 Chicago bands of all-ages to win first place in the Congress Theater’s Next Big Thing battle of the bands in November of 2009.

In March 2011, KTD made their first trip as a band to the illustrious music festival, South by Southwest in Austin, TX. It is safe to say that they made a little splash in the musical ocean, surprising the audiences at venues such as Peckerheads and Pure Volume House. On July 1st, 2011, KTD performed at Milwaukee's Summerfest, where they opened for Third Eye Blind, spreading their musical message to a very receptive audience of over 5000.

KTD includes Liam Cunningham on guitar and lead vocals, Lane Beckstrom on bass, Greg Landfair on drums, Macie Stewart on keys, lead vocals, and background vocals,Vic Mensa on rap vocals, Nico Segal on trumpet, J.P. Floyd on trombone, and Rajiv Halim on saxophone.

They have shared the stage with noted hip-hop artists Rhymefest, the Cool Kids, Mic Terror, and Dom Kennedy. Their influences run from the Roots, Sly Stone, Stevie Wonder and Jimi Hendrix to classic bebop and modern jazz artists such as Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Christian McBride, Miguel Zenon, Nicholas Payton, and Roy Hargrove. Trained musicians, they also perform regularly with side projects at the Jazz Showcase, Symphony Center, Ravinia, The Velvet Lounge and the Chicago Jazz Festival.

KTD's first project "Hard Times", which features five original songs, is currently available on iTunes for download (at the low price of $3.99); it was released on June 28th 2011.
