Sound of the cloud part 4

It’s been coming into my mind since childhood and I could hear the sound of the cloud in my head in any tough situations. I don’t know why this is happening to me but there is one thing that I have realized that it makes me a little comfortable towards the situations. Thank you very much everyone who keeps supporting me and throughout this journey. Well, this is part 4 of the title sound of the cloud and you have been a great audience for me.

First bike ride

My dad was a heavy alcohol consumer and he still drinks a lot. Whenever I am with my friends or colleagues, I never tell anyone about him. Now let’s discuss my first bike ride and the beating with the context of sound of the cloud.

It was 2002 and I was only 12 years old. My dad bought a new bike for himself to go to the office. I was a little kid and never ride a bike before. It also made me excited that we had a bike now so I could anyhow manage to ride. A few days after that bike came to my house I went to my dad asking for a bike to ride. And the conversation went like that-

“Dad I wanna ask you something” I asked him in a very down voice.

“What is it?” My dad replied in a rude voice as he always did.

His voice was too rude for me so I didn’t have that much courage to ask him that day. I said nothing and ran out of the place.

If you want something take it

I went to school that day and continuously thought about the bike and how I could ride it. After a few days my dad went to travel to the nearby city and I thought that was the golden opportunity for me to ride a bike. Once he left the house I took the keys and took my bike out of the garage.

Me and one of my best friends both rode the bike the whole day and we also fuel up the bike from our pocket money. That day was amazing for me because I rode the bike for the first time. The very next day my father came to the town and again I couldn’t have the courage to ask him for a ride.

But I was too excited for the ride so I planned to ride a bike without the permission of my dad. I didn’t know the consequences and I really regret my mistake. It was a fine day in the summer my dad was getting ready for his office as usual. I thought that while my father is getting ready for the office I could take a little round by our bike.

I took the key and went for a little round in the street. I was excited because it has been 2 months since I rode my bike by myself. It has to be a little round but in the excitement I forgot the time and my dad started searching for me. He was asking our neighbors and local shop vendors for me.

I came to my house after an hour and what I saw in front of me was that my dad was waiting for me with his belt. I heard the sound of the clouds again and this time I also started imagining myself beaten by a belt.

I have been beaten by many things before but not with the belt. So, it was the first time for me. As I saw him I just stopped the bike and tried to pull off on the road side. But my father didn’t have that much patience because the moment he saw me he started running towards me with a belt.

I was in total fear and left my bike there not properly and started running on the opposite side from where my dad was coming. Then it was like we were playing some kind of game or running in a sprint race. But in that race if I lost against my dad I would definitely get beaten.

My dad threw his shoe on me, oh my god that really hurt but I didn’t stop. Because I knew one thing that if I stopped here than that would hurt me more. However, he managed to catch me on the roadside of the second block from my house.

I could say that he one handedly caught me and beat me with his belt from the other hand. He was beating me all the way to our house. And there was one more surprise for me: my mom was also waiting for me with a stick in her hand.

My dad threw me in the house and grounded me for two week. Then my mom came to me and gave me one tight slap.

On that evening my father taught me a lesson that you should have asked me for the bike. I was thinking in my mind that if I would have asked me I would get one slap without even riding a bike. But one thing I have decided that day is that I will not run opposite my dad. It is better to be beaten at one place than to be beaten in the whole street while everyone was watching me.
