The collapse of the negotiations between the Council and their preferred developer in

relation to the Arcade Site (adjoining the Granada) has caused a massive set back on

all ongoing negotiations for a potential sale or let of the Granada Cinema (former

EMD).

Due to the renewed uncertainty in relation to the future of the Arcade Site the

Trustees of the UCKG HelpCentre following advice from the agents in charge of the

marketing exercises have decided to withdraw the property from the market until

early 2007 when, hopefully, the situation will become clearer.

The Church is determined to find a solution and would like once again to formally

request that the Council puts an end to speculation and outlines a definitive, firm

strategy to cater for cinema-goers in Walthamstow.”

Voz de Los Andes celebrates two years at Sound Radio 1503am/mw.
En este mes de Agosto estamos celebrando dos anos en la radio. Un nueve de Agosto hace dos anos iniciamos nuestra programación con dos horas de transmisión los lunes y los miércoles en el horario de 7:00AM, a 9:00 AM. Fue un horario un poco difícil, ya que la mayoria de los latinos especialmente los colombianos trabajan en ese horario. A pesar de esto logramos impactar a la comunidad con nuestra línea espiritual y reflexiva, impartiendo emotividad y conserjería para nuestra comunidad. Luego pasamos al horario de las 10:00 AM, a las 11:00 AM y adicionalmente teníamos una hora en la noche, de 11:00 PM, a 12:00 PM.

La tarea no ha sido fácil, hemos logrado impulsar además una cantidad de eventos que han hecho historia en la ciudad de Londres, a saber: Primer Festival Iberoamericano de la canción, que congregó en un solo sitio –Millfield Theatre – a participantes de 10 países incluido el Reino Unido. Gran parada de teatro. Llevada a cabo en el OLD Theatre en Holborn. Primer encuentro latinoamericano del Humor, con la participación del elenco de Humoristas de Sábados Felices de Colombia. Hacney Empire. Sigue el Humor. Con la presentación del Grupo Cómico-musical de Colombia, El manicomio de Vargasvil. Camdem Center.

Hemos desarrollado campañas ntra la droga y enarbolando la Bandera de los Jovenes, siempre hemos procurado adelantar programas con conserjería personal y espiritual, que ejerzan un cambio radical en el comportamiento sico-cultural de nuestra Juventud. Deputy Commissioner of New Scotland Yard Paul Stephenson visits the Sound Radio 1503 studios to answer questions from listeners and a panel of journalists, from Sound Radio programmes ‘En Contacto’, ‘O Globo’ and ‘Brazil Connection’, in relation to the death of Brazilian Jean Charles de Menezes - who was mistaken for a terrorist and shot several times at Stockwell Tube station in London.

Deputy Commissioner Stephenson was accompanied on his visit to Sound Radio by Chief Superintendent Martin Bridger from the Lambeth constabulary which includes Stockwell Tube station.
