Hiatus

Although I am very close to finally having a stable beta build of "Evil Toast" to release for testing, there is going to be a delay before I publish it for downloading. I'm dealing with a lot of family & personal issues right now and just do not have the time or effort to continue at the moment. However, do keep checking back as I will most definitely be picking the project back up and continuing development once things in my life are straightened out. Sorry to the people that have been in contact with me about testing the beta builds, looks like you may have to wait a bit longer after all.

New Page Added

Added a new page today. I've begun teaching myself how to compile Android builds from source after having a hard time deciding what ROM I wanted to keep installed to my phone. I have recently been flashing like crazy back and forth between about 4 different ROMs because I found certain features from multiple builds useful. To avoid flashing back and forth I have decided to use CyanogenMod as a base and will be cherry picking features from other ROMs that I find useful and building my own customized installation. If anybody has a Samsung Fascinate and wishes to try my builds they can be found by navigating to the page titled "Android ROMs". After I have merged all of the features that I want I may consider building for other devices and linking to the builds to them as well. Fascinate users feel free to flash my builds and leave me some feedback using any method of contacting me found here.

Quick post to let everybody know that things here at the SourTap website may temporarily be broken while I convert the blog into an actual website. The blog will still be up and accessible by visiting ~~http://sourtap.blogspot.com~~ http://www.sourtap.com, all posts will still be available to view on the homepage as well. As always keep checking back for updates on the progress of things.

PagePlus Dealer

Keep a look out for a new tab that will be labeled "Wireless Service", SourTap Mobile has bee approved as a certified PagePlus dealer and will soon be selling cellular phones and airtime cards, as well as providing services such as activations, ESN changes and number ports.
This will help provide revenue to help with keeping the site up and running and purchasing

devices and equipment for development and testing purposes. Any followers that currently use PagePlus as a carrier will be able to soon support the site and future development by purchasing airtime and monthly plans from SourTap Mobile.
All donations are welcome and very much needed at this time.

Google Play Store

Uploaded 2 applications to the Google Play Store a few weeks ago that I forgot to mention here. The first app is called "Back Track". This app simply stores your current location and later opens Google Maps to help find your way back and can be downloaded here. Next up is "Paint Pad", which is just a simple app that allows you to choose between 12 different colors and 3 different brush sizes to paint with. Paint Pad can be downloaded here. Evil Toast is still in the making and I may upload a BETA version with a few levels to the Play Store sometime soon. Keep an eye out!

EvilToast (re)Progress

Working on EvilToast a little bit this late and boring night. Not a lot of time for me to work on any projects during the day due to having to watch the kids and such. Most work will done during the late hours so things may seem a little slow at times.. Keep checking in for the latest news. Also I may look into making an Android application to fetch the RSS feed of the site to make it more convenient to stay up to date on things.

EvilToast is now SourTap

New domain. I have decided to drop the "EvilToast" domain and create a new one to host the game on when it is complete. This choice has been made due to the fact that I needed one single domain name for all of the games that I plan to create vs. having one for each game or hosting them all at EvilToast. Sorry about any confusion and/or issues this may cause for anybody trying to stay up to date on development.

Please use the url: www.eviltoast.tk if you wish to view the site. GoDaddy is acting up and causing issues with the .net domain. Hopefully this issue will be fixed soon and everybody can go back to using the old address. Also, the delay in development should hopefully be ending very soon. Keep EvilToast bookmarked!

Site has been moved to Blogger & Google Sites

As I mentioned in my last post this site is now hosted by Google with Blogger & Google Sites. There are still a few small things left for me to do to have everything up and functioning the way it should be. A big problem that I am trying to fix is a problem with the sub-domain "www.eviltoast.net", it seems to not be linked to anything and I am having a bit of trouble figuring it out. I'm going to take a look into all my settings again and see if I can get it sorted out.

Site Migration

Starting soon the site will be hosted with Google Sites and all downloadable files will be hosted with my Minus account storage. Once Evil Toast and other projects are completely finished they will be removed from my Minus storage and pushed to the Android Market. Support for iOS is dropped. HTML5 is still likely after the Android builds are complete. Check back for the latest news!

Mobile theme

Decided the PC port of Evil Toast isn't going to be needed since I'll be porting the game to HTML5 at some point anyways, so consider that idea DEAD. On a side note, I did manage to get a few sprite sets and images done the other night. I was hoping to have them all completed but had other things to take care of. Also I moved today so things are probably going to be even slower while we settle in.

Sprites and graphics

I'll be working on the sprites and images for Evil Toast throughout the day. I'm hoping to have the majority of the completed by the end of the night. However, I'm not sure if I will be able to without buying a mouse for my laptop. After I finish the sprites and other images I will begin working on the sounds.

I think I'm also going to work on a port of Evil Toast that will run in a users browser. This will bring it to a wider audience of users. This will of course be worked on after the Android and PC versions are released.

Added a forums page to the site last night for discussion of game bugs, ideas or anything else site related. I've also thought of a few ideas for future games once Evil Toast is completed. Forums may be found here or by clicking the link located at the top of the site.

Site is up! Alright first of all, if you're not sure why this site exists, take a look at the about page here. Basically I am turning an old cartoon that another kid and I made back in grade school into a game. I'll be bringing the game to a wide range of devices eventually including; Android, iOS (iPhone/iPod Touch), as well as the PC. I will mainly be focusing on Android and PC, iOS will come at a later time. I recommend anybody with an interest in this project to bookmark Evil Toast; or follow @ToastEvil on Twitter. Also you can find Evil Toast on Facebook here. I also plan to upload some old "comic" like books that were made when the project was first created.
