One of the biggest problems was “Calcimine” ceilings. Definition: cal·ci·mine also kal·so·mine n. A white or tinted liquid containing zinc oxide, water, glue, and coloring matter, used as a wash for walls and ceilings.

At first glance, the ceilings look like ordinary latex or oil painted ceilings when in fact calcimine is acidic and if coated over with standard latex or oil based paint with fail almost immediately. One way to determine if your ceilings are calcimine is to check the underside of a paint chip. If it is chalky more than likely, it is calcimine.

Trying to scrape and “skim coat” (When you use joint compound to cover the cracks and defects caused by a failed coating) you will notice the joint compound starting to bubble. The acid in the calcimine is breaking down the joint compound. The best way to approach this is to scrape as much as the loose ceiling as possible. Then seal the original ceiling (as is) before repairing.

There are products out there that deal with calcimine directly. One such product is “Cal- Cote” I have used this product many times. A heavy coating will seal the ceiling and give you a surface to work with. Therefore, you can start skim coating and repairing all the defects after the Cal-Cote is dry. (Typically allow it to dry over night.)

After you have applied the skim coat to the ceiling you will need to allow the compound ample time to cure .Depending on conditions, (How humid is it?) I would allow the joint compound over night also. Then when sufficiently cured you can sand (wearing a mask and goggles) to achieve a smooth finish.

When all sanded, apply another coat of Cal-Cote and your ceiling should last quite a long time. One other thing, Cal-Cote is a very thick product. Unlike a latex or oil, based paint, which will typically cover 300 sq feet per gallon, expect to get about 200 sq per gallon. Following these steps will help in fixing those old calcimine ceilings. You can always ask your local paint store what type of product they carry and the coverage rate of that particular product.

Consequence Of Powder Coatings

Powder coatings are a form of coatings offered by different manufacturers around the world. Two marble bengals will always produce marble kittens. Two marbles bred together cannot produce spotted kittens. Spotted bengals can carry the marble gene recessively though. This means that two spotted cats can sometimes produce marble kittens. To do this though, both spotted parents must carry one marble gene.

You cannot usually tell if a spotted cat carries recessively for marble. One way to tell for sure is if the spotted cat has one marble parent. Because a marble can only pass the marble gene, you know for a certainty that it's spotted kitten has one copy of the marble gene and one copy of the spotted gene. Another way to tell is if you breed a spotted cat either to a marble or another spotted, if marble kittens result, you know that your spotted carries for marble.

Remember, if you want all marble kittens all of the time, breed two marbles together.

The marble pattern goes through an amazing transformation from birth through the first year. When a marble kitten is born, the pattern is very closed up. As the kitten matures, the pattern slowly opens to reveal the hidden beauty!

There are two types of marblebengal patterns. The is the regular two toned marble that has the background color and the pattern color. Then there is the tri-colored marble. Tri colored marbles have rosetting to their pattern. In the tri-color, the third color outlines the pattern.

Some marble bengals also display some rosetting like that of the spotted bengal. Usually the rosetted spots will be located near the cat's hindquarters, where the pattern has broken away from the marble pattern into large rosetted spots. Even though these cats have some rosetted spots, they are still genetically marbles.

Interestingly, there are bengals that are popping up that seem to fit neither the spotted category nor the marble category because they have such a funky pattern that contains blotches that are somewhat swirled. These cats are genetically either a marble or a spotted, but they are very hard to classify because they look like a combo of both.

Like the spotted, the pattern of a marble should be horizontally aligned. The pattern should stretch and swirl across the cat, making it look like an ocelot or a clouded leopard. To me it should look like lighting or a maze that starts from the front of the cat and moves to the back of the cat. This makes the marble pattern look truly wild.

The domestic cat carries the "classic" tabby pattern which looks like a bulls eye or a jelly roll. In a bengal, the bulls eye pattern is not desirable. A vertical pattern in a bengal is also not desirable. You can see a clear difference between a good marble pattern on a bengal and a non- bengal classic tabby pattern. Because some of the bengal pattern is influenced by the domestic cat, sometimes marble bengals will not have the best marble pattern, but when you get a marble with a lot of the wild horizontally flowing influence to the pattern, you will get a truly spectacular cat!

Spotted and Rosetted Coat Pattern

Bengal cat coat genetics explained. Spotted and rosetted coat pattern.

Bengals are known for their spotted coats. The gene responsible for spotting is dominant. That means that it only takes one spotted parent to get spotted kittens. The spotted gene cannot be carried recessively, so if you don't have at least one spotted parent, you know you will not get any spotted kittens. Two marbles cannot produce spotted but two spotted can produce marbles if they both carry recessively for the marble gene (more on that on the marble page).

Some bengals have rosettes which are two toned spots, like that of a Leopard. Usually a rosette will have a dark outline with a lighter color inside.

Some bengals are spotted but not rosetted or have very few rosettes.

These can be very beautiful as well. Below is an example of a spotted bengal that is not very rosetted. He has a few rosettes but overall his coat has spots only. Some spots are inky black and the color reaches right down to the base of the hair, right next to the skin. Interestingly, bengals do not have spotted skin.

Spots and rosettes come in a variety of sizes and shapes. The different shapes of rosettes are called things like: paw print, arrowhead, doughnut, and pancake. Breeders are developing cats with different shapes all of the time. Undoubtedly, we will see more descriptive terms for rosettes as they are developed.

Spots and rosettes should be horizontally aligned. The more horizontal the better. Some cats even have rosettes that link together horizontally, this is called "chain rosetting.

Spots that run together in the other direction forming a vertical line is not desired in the bengal breed. Generally these lines are seen on the torso on the bengal, right behind the front legs. These lines are called "rib stripes" or "rib bars". Rib stripes are considered a fault and genrally if a cat has rib stripes the cat is not going to be of show quality.

Comfortable, Laboratory Coats for Affordable Health Professional

When a health professional uses laboratory coats it conveys several different messages. First, lab coats give an appearance of professionalism. It is very important in the health care facility to be professional and new lab coat own portrait just this image. Secondly, laboratory coats are very functional because they have many pockets. As that seems stupid, health care providers in general have many tools and documents in their pockets and lab coats who have pockets of these different elements are necessary and beneficial.

The styles of laboratory coats

In selecting the multiple layers of laboratory, it is important to keep in mind the policies of the institution you're at work. Some require long or short coats laboratory, depending on your responsibilities in this facility. Comfort and convenience are both considerations you will need to decide on the choice among different styles of laboratory coats for your career. Quality, reliability Medical Equipment is an important component of any medical practice. It can not be overemphasized that if the practice of medicine is an art, Medical Equipment is the science behind the implementation of this art. Increasingly, patients are increasingly sophisticated in their understanding of medical supplies and medical equipment which is used to treat them. This means that a health care provider must know and understand not only how their equipment, but also be assured that the medical equipment they use is of the highest quality.

Your medical equipment must be reliable and high quality

The tools of your profession, whether a stethoscope or a nebulizer, can now be ordered online on the Internet, usually at substantial savings. This means an easier approach to the management of medical equipment.

Both professionals and home health consumers are now order a large number of their medical equipment and medical supplies from their computers. The prices are low and quality is excellent. If you work in the field of health care, you'll need medical supplies to help you in your work. Quality products that you know you can count on will give you more confidence during stressful situations.

Solar coatings are an alternative to the stores?

Conservatory blinds can be very costly. Too my opinion, especially since I need some - all offers:)? An alternative May to cover the roof with a thin layer of a substance called a solar coating that reduces the amount of radiation from the sun that passes and keeps the cooler conservatory during the summer months. But what are they, not solar coatings work, what kind of surface solar are available, will it tint the glass and how much will it cost compared to the conservatory blinds?

Conservatory: What are the solar coatings?

A solar surface is a very thin layer of material that is applied to a surface of glass or polycarbonate in a conservatory - most often on the roof and external.

Conservatory: The solar coatings?

Yes. The technology is quite mature and has been installed not only on conservatories, but office buildings throughout the world. How well individual solar coatings work is another question that I can not answer.

Conservatory: How do solar coatings?

The light we receive from the sun contains many more "frequency" that the visible light that we all see para. Ultra-violet has a frequency slightly higher than visible and infra-red, which holds the greatest part of what we believe the heat has a lower frequency than visible. Some materials to mitigate or reduce the amount of energy contained in a specific frequency. For example, black objects appear black because they absorb much of the energy is transmitted in the visible light spectrum (a name for the range of different frequencies). Even thinner than it is to design a material that absorbs ultra-violet rays and infra-red while leaving most of the visible-light a touchdown. A good equipment with a let if most of the visible light but block the other solar radiation. How visible light a glass panel passes is called visible transmission or television, which wants to be the highest possible (for example a figure of 1.0, it allows all by visible light, a reasonable figure is 0.7) and solar heat gain coefficient (basically how hot it is for a certain amount of sunlight) should be as low as possible, for example below 0.4. In the USA, these figures are cited in connection with the energy efficiency of windows sold. Because these coatings block the infrared radiation they must also provide a degree of insulation against heat escaping from the conservatory on a cold winters day.

Conservatory: What are the types of solar surface are available?

The following are the property conservatory window and solar coatings that we found in the global marketplace.

CoolKote - It is a metallic coating PVC which "blocks 80% of solar heat" (probably infra red), "99% of ultra violet" and "reduces glare by 70%." On a hot day figures suggest that the average temperature in the conservatory over a week at around 23-24 Celsius after CoolKote had yet been applied up to 45 Celsius in a conservatory without CoolKote applied. The readings were taken on 14 consecutive days, but they do not give a temperature of the air outside or anything to compare it to. A better way would have been to build two cold frames, a window with a glass of plain and with a CoolKote and then measure the temperature in them over a couple of months and every day we show that the temperature difference was . As it is information they have provided on-site May misleading - I can not really say. CoolKote is a film that can easily be applied to you conservatory using soapy water - a bit like a great piece of tape. They say it should not take off, comes with a warranty of 10 years, but you should obviously avoid scratching. It can be applied you or they can come and adapt. It can also be installed at the time to build your porch or later by many manufacturers conservatory.

Celsius - It is a glass rather than an additional coating. It already has the coating applied or impregnated on the surface. Do not give real details of what it is. It reflects "72% of total solar energy" which is reportedly three times higher than normal glass. He has a TV of 0.45 which is low, but is only applied on the roof, it would obviously reduce the glare as they claim. Another advantage of glass which is apparently it reduces the magnitude of any noise outside, but a factor of two. This is probably a characteristic of glass rather than the surface itself. I thought you did not notice that the more you've always all side windows glass normal transmitting noise (even double glazing). It is alleged that he has hydrophilic properties and water and dirt just run the roof sheets and, therefore, it needs less cleaning and because it reflects the heat inside the greenhouse panes of glass are 5 Celsius warmer than others, thereby reducing condensation. Again other materials should be done.

Wonderglass - They are widely available in the States and started to become available here (I think). Now is magnetron sputtering up to 11 different coatings of material on a sheet of glass. Very impressive. It is supposed to be the world more energy efficient glass. He deflects "85% of suns solar heat," blocks "90% of ultraviolet light." He has a hydrophilic coating to reduce cleaning and reduces glare. Because in a sense, it is much more high-tech competition that earlier they may have raised the rejection of solar heat and still have a Tv a maximum of 0.72 (compared with clear glass to 0, 9 and clear glass double glazing 0.81)

Conservatory: Will it tint the glass?

CoolKote: They say "diffuse light gray tint, seen from below"

C: They say "subtle blue hue in the glass"

Wonderglass: They say "still color neutral"

Conservatory: The solar coatings cheaper than blinds?

A conservatory roof 10m2 with roughly the cost between £ 1300 and £ 1800 to cover conservatory with stores. If CoolKote costs between £ 595 and £ 600 to be installed by a supplier. The other that I found are an integral part of the roof (or windows) and I have not seen prices for use instead of ordinary polycarbonate.

Summary

A solar surface might be cheaper than the roof stores and should certainly be considered as an alternative to stores specifying your new conservatory.

How to Uncover Your Real Coat of Arms

Armorial bearings, or coats of arms, take us back to the glamour of the middle ages. In days of old, knights displayed heraldic devices on their horses' caparisons, their servants' liveries, and on their banners and shields. As war medals are awarded today, so coats' of arms and other heraldic devices could be awarded to knights for their service in battle. But the primary role of coats' of arms was identification in battle – the bright, vibrant colors and symbols identified the knight to his men, and his flying banner was a rallying point for them.

Heraldry refers to the study of coats of arms, and takes its name from the Heralds, who were the special ambassadors and messengers of feudal times. They were employed by all great lords, and by the king. Because Heralds traveled freely around the country, they were also the armorial officials. They granted armorial bearings. At tournaments, it was the Heralds' job to check that no knight appeared in the tournament lists displaying the heraldic devices of another. In battle, it was the Heralds' job, on both sides, to identify the living and the dead, and to declare the winner.

Heralds still exist today. Many countries in Europe have offices of Heralds, including Britain. If you find that you have a British ancestor, you can apply to be granted the right to bear your ancestors' coat of arms. If your British ancestor didn't have a coat of arms, you can choose your own devices (symbols), and a coat of arms may be created for you.

What does coat of arms mean? In medieval times, knights wore a thickly padded coat over their chain mail to protect them from sword thrusts, and their armorial bearings were painted on this coat. After a battle, it was the Heralds' unpleasant duty to identify the dead, and the deceased knights were identified by their painted coats: their coats of arms.

The Language and Symbols of Heraldry

Heraldry can seem complex to us, with its many colors and symbols, but 600 years ago you would have been able to read the colors and symbols on a knight's livery, banner, and coat of arms as easily as you can read a billboard today. In those days, although most people (even the wealthy) were illiterate, they understood heraldic symbols, and what they meant. Everything on a coat of arms had meaning to them: the colors, the quarterings or other divisions, and the symbols, which could include swords, shields, crowns, animals and mythical beasts.

Are You Eligible for a REAL Coat of Arms?

If you have a British ancestor, you may be eligible. But claiming entitlement to a coat of arms, or applying for a new coat of arms, is a complicated process because you must apply to the College of Heralds of your ancestor's country. Bear in mind that those kiosks you see set up in malls, or the various websites that “specialize” in providing coats of arms based on your last name, are really just for fun (if you want to be generous in describing their motives). What you’ll receive from these places really has nothing to do with a true coat of arms that may have been granted to your ancestors.

Shearling Coat Care

If your shearling coat or jacket gets wet, let them coat dry naturally. Don't place by a fire or other high heat source. Heat can dry out the natural oils in the hides.

Do not wash your coat or jacket in a washing machine or put in a dryer. Most shearling coats are meant to be dry cleaned. When looking for a dry cleaner, make sure that they know how to properly clean them. The process must include putting the natural oils back into the hides. Without doing this process, the hides will dry out and the coat will be ruined.

When hanging your coat or jacket use a sturdy, well shaped coat hangar. Don't use a wire hanger that's going to put "pokies" in the shoulders and don't hang it up on a knob for extended periods of time.

Avoid stain resistant treatments that are made of silicone. We recommend Meltonian brand Protect-All. It will give you a layer of protection without changing the color or finish.

Do not put adhesive stickers on shearling coats or jackets, as part of the adhesive can either get left behind or the adhesive may itself pull off some of the fabric.

Never place your coat or jacket right next to a open fire or other strong heat source, such as a heater. The high heat from a fire or heater can damage the coats.. Also, do not store them in direct sunlight as it can bleach them over time.

When storing your coat or jacket, never put them in a plastic garment bag for any sort of extended time because they need to breath. Cloth garment bags are highly recommended for both storage and travel.

Never leave your coat in a car or trunk for any amount of time on a hot day, especially if it is wet. The combination of water, being crumpled & excessive heat generally results in the coat shrinking, smelling musty and losing its shape. (Even the best cleaner or restorer will have a tough time restoring it.)

You can choose to have coat stored over the summer but most people tend to keep them at home in a climate controlled room and this seems to work fine. Never put them in the attic or basement for storage.

Powder Coating the Paint Technique That is Above The Rest

Have you ever heard of powder coating? Do you have any idea just what it is? Well if you don’t, then this article is just what you need. Powder coating is one of the best painting technique out there however not everybody is aware of it. In powder coating the preparation is very important if you want to have the best paint job results. The preparation includes the stripping of the motorcycle parts of all its paint. It is very important that the motorcycle parts to be coated must be entirely stripped of any remaining paint, dirt, oil and any other substance. Sandblasting is required to completely clean the motorcycle parts. Afterwards, the motorcycle parts are going to be baked to get rid of the moisture from the metal. The motorcycle parts are now treated with degreasing solution to prevent from rusting.

The process of powder coating is used especially for selected motorcycle parts in which they are coated with fine powder of resin as well as pigment which is more of a ground up paint grains that form a powder-like substance. The items being coated are then hanged on a rack which grounds the item. A spray gun is then used to spray the powder onto the motorcycle parts. Afterwards, spraying on the motorcycle parts, these are then baked on a large oven in order to cure the coating. The usual temperature used for curing is between 400 and 450 degrees. Another purpose of curing and baking the motorcycle parts is to melt the pigments, melt the gel in order to come up with a hard-wearing finish. The end product is an even coating.

Powder coating can also be applied to steel, zinc, aluminum as well as to some other materials. The great thing about powder coating is that it has the ability to withstand and surpass the originally painted parts of your motorcycle. And aside from that, there are also hundreds of colors to choose from. Likewise, powder coated motorcycle parts can also withstand acids, solvents, impacts and even abrasions.

The process of powder coating can be used to paint items including valve covers, wheels, trim parts, sway bars, bumpers, coil springs, strut bars as well as other items. For those who are interested there are online as well as offline powder coating companies that you may turn to. The usual thing required is for you to either shipped mail or bring personally the part or the item of your motorcycle or even your car parts that you want to have powder coated.

Protective Coatings For Your Home

There are several areas of your home that suffer from extensive damage, whether it is due to poor weather, physical damage or simply because of old age. Protective coatings are a great way to help these areas remain durable and resistant against negative elements. One of the most delicate surfaces around your home is the driveway and garage floor. You can use some tough protective coatings to protect such spaces – simply brush or roll the coating in an easy but effective action that will protect your driveway from all sorts of damage. For concrete floors, choose a high quality epoxy coating – this is an excellent addition to the floor’s structure because it soaks in and becomes part of the concrete matrix. High chemical and fuel resistance also recommends such coatings for garages and workshops. Most top grade protective coatings are engineered to self level and have different characteristics such as being resistant to chemicals, spilled fuel, brake fluid and acids, is impact resistant to 500 PSI, heat resistant to 350 + degrees, color-fast, non-chalking and resists cracking, chipping and peeling.

Due to recent advancements, several top class products appeared on the protective coatings market. Choosing a silicone based epoxy ester single component epoxy product, for example, will guarantee excellent resistance and unsurpassed flexibility, two very desirable elements of any coating system. Such products are reinforced with alkyd and urethane, two special components that augment the qualities of the protective coating. The interesting thing about such a waterproof floor coating is that it is the same product used on aircraft carriers. This means that, originally, it was designed to withstand extreme damage, such as jet fighter landings and take offs, fuel leaks, flaming jet exhausts and so on. Imagine how resistant such a protective coating would be on your driveway!

Epoxy coatings are also used in protecting other materials, such as wood, concrete, metal, fiberglass… and the list goes on. Not only do they do their job with military precision, these epoxy coatings are also lead-free, making them safe for the environment. When they dry, the protective coatings are completely harmless and non-toxic, so you don’t have to worry about your pets or children. You can top the coating with a clear finish, especially if you purchase one with UV inhibitors that guarantee a long life. Such a finish would make the protected surface look even better than it originally did, plus with the extra protection it brings. When properly applied, such protective coatings do not chip or break and most good manufacturers and retailers offer guarantees that extend up to 5 years.

Concrete Coating

Most everyone that ever had anything to do with concrete knows that it has a wear and tear problem, it is a part of the natural ageing of concrete, but what most people don't know is that this problem can be solved, and sometimes the result can be much better and nicer than ever before. When concrete starts to chip and flake it can be a real eyesore. There is literally tons of concrete that is ripped up and discarded into various landfills every year, yet most of this concrete is still in good structural shape. There are certain exceptions, but most of the visible damage is cracking, and it can be restored with amazing results. The answer to this cosmetic damage is concrete coating. Concrete coating is the natural answer to the aging problems of concrete.

There are various types of concrete coating, each offering different finishes of the final product. The cracks are initially filled, a simple procedure, and then the chipping of flaking (also known as spalling) are removed. Finally a concrete coating is applied to the existing concrete, resulting in a beautiful finish that also resists the corrosive effects of weather. Concrete coating is both strong and durable, lasting years longer than traditional concrete. It is comprised of a unique blend of acrylics and cements resulting in an appealing finish. This procedure of concrete coating allows you to perform a make over to your concrete and upgrade the way your concrete surface.

Another thing that is very important in dealing and maintaining concrete is that concrete coating wouldn't mean that you have to put in more time and energy into cleaning. Concrete coating is also easy to maintain and proper maintenance can extend the life of the concrete even longer. Maintenance requires pressure washing and simple resealing about every two to three years, depending on the amount of traffic wear and tear. Salt doesn't affect the coating material and most stains can be easily washed off. Of course one should always be careful when using a snow shovel to not damage the coating. If you use your common sense and experience there is no reason why you shouldn't enjoy your new concrete coating for a long time, this is really an investment that pays itself in years.

Concrete coating is not only for the outdoors, it is a great solution for any concrete surface, if you want to change the look of your tired, cracked concrete - in a driveway, by the pool, or even indoors - there are many different types of concrete coatings coming in a wide variety of colors. There is even a slip resistant coating available for swimming pools, which really adds safety to the area. Basically any sound surface can be a candidate for coating.

Find out more about concrete coating, it is an amazing way of keeping concrete surfaces and many people find that this is a perfect solution to a tired looking, ageing concrete surface.

Choosing A Top Coat For Your Woodworking Project

When you're done with your woodworking project, of course you want to protect it. A top coat protects the finish of your project, as well as the wood itself. If you leave the wood (and any stain or paint you've used) as it is, it's likely to get scratched or dirty, and will also get damaged by watermarks if it comes into contact with moisture. By using a good wood finish, you'll keep your wood and its finish clean and protected, and prevent it from damage, wear and tear. You can apply a clear finish so as to accentuate the grain, or even give it a "wet look" if you like. In general, unfinished wood will develop a dull matte texture that will not show off the grain.

No matter the woodworking project you're working on, there are two basic finishes you can apply. The first is called an "evaporated finish." With this type of finish, it "cures" and becomes hard simply by drying. These types of finishes include lacquers and water-based finishes. You can soften these finishes with heat; therefore, they are given the name "thermoplastic."

The second type of wood finish is called a "reactive finish." This is cured by allowing it to react with another component, such as air, or with another chemical added just prior to the finish's application. Some examples of these include oils in oil-based varnishes or catalyzed lacquers. These types of finishes are called "thermosetting finishes." Unlike the thermoplastic finishes, these finishes are not softened with heat or with the original solvent used.

Within the reactive finishes are two different types of oil finishes. These are oils that dry when exposed to air or oils that do not dry when exposed to air. In example of an oil that does not dry when exposed to air is mineral oil, or baby oil. Those that do dry protect would better than those that don't dry. Therefore, usually, the ones that do dry should be used to finish your wood project.

Most often, linseed or tung oil is used to finish wood. These are distinguished from other types of wood products because they are "true" oils. Both penetrate the finish, which means that they enter the wood fibers themselves. Then they harden within the wood, which makes them the easiest to apply. Simply wipe down wood with them to allow them to penetrate the wood for a few minutes, and then wipe off the excess with a clean rag. If you apply several coats, you will not build up a hard film like you might with a varnish or lacquer, because the film itself dries to a very soft and smooth sheen.

Linseed oil is made from the flax plant. The oil itself is pressed from the plant. It is available both in on refined (also called "raw") form or in refined form. Unrefined linseed oil dries quite slowly and is usually not used on wood. By contrast, boiled linseed oil is thicker and dries more quickly. Usually, the boiled linseed oils available today also have chemical additives to speed up the drying time, which makes them much more suitable for finishing wood.

Banc are Coats for Chavs?

If you buy an article this fall / winter, make sure it is a Bench logo coat clothing by designers bench clothing.

The chassis of the design team clothing are beginning to experiment with a few coats bench unbelievable.

In general, in years past by all the emphasis Banc range of clothing was to display the logo judiciary in many places, as on the mantle as possible. Ruffles, dresses and levels brights could make a more conscious of her figure. Fortunately, if not a thin girl can find respite in the hottest spring jacket, the trench coat.

This is not a new trend. The return to the years 1920 to 1940, femme fatale Greta Garbo honored cinema screens in the classroom, yet sexy trench coats.

Some trends never die. They become classics and the trench coat is one of those classics.

You could dig up the grandmother trench coat and wear at work. Again, you miss on new updates to this classic style. Today, the layers have settled feminine details (even ruffles). In addition, it makes you sinuous, not fat.

So if you get just one thing for you this spring and especially if you're not shaped like a runway model, you get a trench.

Develop a family fun Coat of Arms

Coat of arms or arms, take us back to the fascination of the Middle Ages. In ancient times, knights displayed heraldic devices on their horses "caparisons, their officials delivered, and their banners and shields. As war medals are awarded today to layers" of weapons and other devices heraldic could be attributed to the knights for their service in the battle. But the main role of layers "of weapons has been the combat identification - the light, colours and symbols identified the knight of his men, and its banner flight was a rallying point for them.

Heraldry refers to the study of arms, and takes its name from the Heralds, who were the ambassadors and messengers of feudalism. They were employed by all major lords, and by the king. Because Heralds traveled freely in the country, they are also the arms of officials. They gave arms. At tournaments, he was the Heralds' job to verify the absence of a knight appeared in the tournament lists displaying heraldic devices to another. In battle, he was the Heralds' employment on both sides to identify the living and the dead, and declare the winner.

Many families now find a link with their ancestors through their arms. However, obtaining an official right to display a real coat of arms - ie a coat of arms which was granted to your ancestor - can be long and tedious process. And for many people, May they not even have an ancestor who was granted an official coat of arms in the first place.

But that does not mean you can not have fun designing your own coat of arms. Of course, it will never be recognized by any government or College of Heralds (people charged with keeping track of arms official), but it can be a fun family project nonetheless.

If you have an artistic bent, design your own coat of arms of art using one of dozens of clips heraldic libraries online. For your fun family coat of arms look authentic, you'll need two basic elements: the ground, and the costs (also known collectively as "The Shield")

Over time, the coat of arms has come to mean simply the shield we so often think of when imagining a classic coat of arms. The color that the shield is painted is called "the ground." Any issue that has been painted on the field shield has been called "the accusation." Therefore, if a shield has a lion painted on it, it is said to be "charged with a lion."

The charges included shields on animals, mythical animals, birds, plants, flowers and inanimate objects. Load your own coat of arms with another symbol that has meaning for you.

How to Pick the Right Coat This Winter

Women's fleece-lined winter coats are a gorgeous way to stay warm and stylish.

Resources to Help in Applying for a Real Coat of Arms:

* College of Arms (England and Wales): www.college-of-arms.gov.uk

* The Heraldry Society of Scotland (Scotland): http://www.heraldry-scotland.co.uk

* Office of the Chief Herald of Ireland (Ireland) at the National Library ofIreland: http://www.nli.ie

What Kind Of Coat Do You Need

How many coats does a women need? In the 1950s, a woman needed at least five coats: a winter coat, a coat for spring and fall, a summer coat, a raincoat, and an evening coat. The emphasis is on the words "at least" because any one who could afford it owned these coats in several colors, styles and fabrics. As a result wardrobes were full of coats because every season women bought new clothes that need new matching coats.

The modern woman has fewer coats although she would prefer to have more. But because she often wears jackets it makes no sense to have a special coat for every occasion and certainly not every recreational activity. Nevertheless, a well-equipped wardrobe should contain apart from changing fashion trends and personal preferences, at least the following kinds of coats: a dark wool coat for business that can also be worn in the evening, a second, this time brown, wool coat that can be used for the office, smart casual and relaxed weekends, and a light raincoat for rainy weather.

What about the length? Ever since skirts became knee-length in the 1920s, ankle-length coats have not been necessary. They come back into fashion now and again but they do not play a major part in the classic wardrobe. But although ankles no longer need to be covered, the coat must always be longer than the skirt to prevent the creation of an unintentional layered look. The most suitable and versatile is the fairly straight, below the knee length coat, but the very straight version of the mini era and short coat of the 1990s are also very popular. Women who wear trousers have more choice so far as length is concerned, in that they can follow the fashion or their own taste.

Coats are the most versatile items in a wardrobe because they have to go with almost everything. Those who only wear red or who never venture out in anything but black will naturally need a red or black coat. Everyone else will prefer a neutral shade such as beautiful beige or a light charcoal. Patterns should be used with caution unless they are the traditional, classic ones, and even these cannot be wholeheartedly recommended. Although patterns such as herringbone, dog's tooth check and pepita have been popular for decades, like all patterns they restrict the possibilities of combination. Structured fabrics are an alternative for those who want to avoid plain fabrics. These provide a more interesting surface texture but do not distract with loud patterns or too many colors.

Llama Fibres Used For Making Thick Blankets

Llamas are animals which live on high altitudes of the Andes. Like the Afro-Asian camel, these are pseudo-ruminants; unlike true ruminants they have only three stomachs rather than four. The llama is a domestic animal that has lived with humans since time immemorial. The coat of the llama protects it not just from the cold but also from the heat. Although it does not contain lanolin like sheep's wool, the density of the coat protects it from the rain too.

The fibres are collected by shearing and by combing and collection during the molting season. When llamas mount they don't lose all the hair at once, but lose it over a period of some time which may range for a couple of weeks. The hair is sorted according to shade and age of the animal. Color varies from reddish to light brown.

Llama fibre is hollow with a series of diagonal walls through its structure that makes it very light, strong and insulating. It is also superbly soft. Llama fibre is made into knitwear, textile fabrics and suiting cloth.

The llama coat contains an extra-strong, protective guard hair that can be used for making blankets, rugs, wall-hangings, rope etc. The llama unlike sheep and alpacas has a coat that stops growing if not shorn usually after two or three years. If it is shorn then it will grow back. It can be shorn annually. Llama fabrics are good for people with allergic reactions to animal fibres and is in good demand during the winter season.

15 Tips On How To Pick The Best Coat

Cruella De Ville must have hit some fashion nerve when she puts on her marvelous fur coat. But we are no Cruella De Ville’s and because of highly revered designers we have now, we don’t have to kill all 101 Dalmatians to make an impression with an overcoat.

You might also want to think twice in putting on those lavish furs she has. A coat is a necessity in the winter season but with just the right amount of being finicky and some sense of style we might just turn this old timer outfit to a fashion statement.

Here are some tips on choosing the best coat.

1. First off, assess your figure.

2. Highlight a good curve with double breasted coat or choose a design where you can overlie the coat and produce a v-neck style.

3. If you are blessed with great hips, accentuate it with a chic shawl coat. Try fur coats that would highlight your hips.

4. On a full breasted figure a turtleneck coat would look formal and sleek; it will make your breast appear an inch or so less.

5. For women more on the petite side do away from bulky coat as it would make you appear shorter. Choose a single-breasted cut coat. Keep it simple and elegant.

6. You can fake an unfavorable figure by choosing a waterfall coat that would just fall down stylishly away from the problem spots.

7. If you go for the classic look, you would never go wrong with black or khaki trench coats over some pair of jeans

8. Your daily activities would also dictate on which coat to pick. Knee length overcoats are best when you drive or if you are more of the always-on-the-go type. Though mid-thigh cut would flatter a tall figure knee lengths thigh is more practical.

9. Aside from the style, coats are primarily made to keep us warm. Thanks for Thinsulate technology, we can now junk the bulky and thick coats and go for coats of synthetic material with slimmer fit with more varied style to choose from. They still provide the same warmth big coats do.

10. In addition with woolen coats they are a wide variety of fiber you can choose from. You can prefer viscose, polyester or plaid for inside linings. Suede and leather exteriors would also do to cope with the winter season.

11. In addition to your well-picked coat you can accessorize by putting on a suitable hat, hand warmers or gloves. Just remember that these should all go with the over-all color scheme or style of your coat.

12. For bargain hunters, you can always opt to shop during the springtime when coats are sold the cheapest.

13. Maintain the condition of your fur by dry cleaning them. Never put them in the washer. Proper storage could keep your coats for a lifetime. Closets should have proper air circulation, preferably 50F humidity to give the coats just the right amount of moisture.

14. Invest your hard earned money to quality clothes. Be practical, choose a durable coat (remember good quality doesn’t always come with a high price tag) that suits your taste which you can wear even for the next winter season.

15. Finally, a good fit is always the standard factor in choosing the best outfit. Be sure there is no awkward space between you and your coat.

When finally deciding on which coat to buy keep in mind that the style you should pick exudes your taste and personality.

Top Jackets For Fall 2007 Through Winter 2007-2008

1. The Skirt Suit Jacket

The skirt suit is back. So the first jacket would be something you can wear with one or more of your skirts as part of a skirt suit ensemble. Or maybe you should get the entire suit. These jackets are short, ending at the waist, or if they do end below the waist, a sexy peplum that flounces from the waistline emphasizes the shape for the season, making the waist appear even smaller in comparison.

Since black is the most popular color for Autumn and winter 2007, and a black jacket would be easy to match exactly -- just any skirt or pants that's black would do -- should you get a black jacket?

In the first place, do you look radiant in black, or does black make you look sickly?

If black makes you look fab, go for a black jacket with a peplum that you can wear as part of a skirt suit. If not, get that jacket in a color that you actually look good in and get the matching skirt.

2. The Coat

Get a trench coat. The new chic coats are inspired by the trench, so a long belted coat would take you from autumn through winter. Again, pick a color that flatters you and choose a coat that ends just above your knee. Again, pick a coat in a color that you actually look great in and which you will actually wear.

3. The Down Jacket

As it gets even colder, you need something really warm. A down jacket would be wonderful. Traditionally stuffed with down feathers, though these days, synthetics might be used, these jackets are warm, comfy and even sporty. The best part is that they are hot this season touted as the pouf jacket. The look is soft and adorable and goes fabulously with tights. That's probably the most practical winter style seen on the catwalks.

<media:rating>nonadult</media:rating>
