The Baptism After-Party at the Viceroy Hotel in Miami

After the baptism, the crowd headed over to the fabulous Viceroy Hotel on Brickel Avenue in Miami. What a cool spot! The party was held up on a rooftop patio area called the “Fireplace”. I think it’s safe to say everyone had a great time. I highly recommend the Viceroy! Very cool and unique architecture and style and the food was absolutely fabulous.

The Flushmount Wedding Album | South Florida Wedding Photographer

Matt & Rachael’s album is one of my favorites I’ve designed yet. As you can see, I love clean, minimalist layouts that really put the focus on the photos and telling the story of the day. I use this style of design because it’s important to me that the album and the design stand the test of time and become a treasured family heirloom for generations to come. My album company, Forbeyon produces beautiful albums that are the highest standard of quality, beauty and craftsmanship. I use them because I know that when the client receives their album they will be 150% satisfied. And there’s nothing more important to me than that.

Below is a sample album I had printed from Matt & Rachael’s wedding for the event coordinator, Jamie Lipman at The National Hotel in South Beach. She’s awesome, the hotel is rad. Enough said. Anyway, I chose the red leather with black spine embossing. The design is an exact copy of what Matt & Rachael got, but they went with a classic black leather and silver spine embossing. Of course their spine also said Matt & Rachael, not Kat Braman The size is 10×10, which is my base size, but there are a variety of other sizes available – including a new super cool one coming at the end of this month – scroll down for a sneak peek!

Forbeyon recently announced that they will be adding a 12.5 x 5 size sometime this month and I cannot wait to get a sample of it!

Baptism | St. Jude’s Church Miami

Last weekend I had the pleasure of documenting the Baptism of a very special little girl at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Miami. It was such an honor to be a part of this event that brought together family and friends for this ancient ritual. I love how tradition and modernity were woven together throughout the ceremony. After, they had a pretty rockin’ party at the gorgeous Viceroy Hotel on Brickel Avenue in Miami. But I couldn’t narrow these down and do this part of the story justice, so the party photos will be part of another blog post.

Tookie Shares the Love

One of the things I love most about being a photographer is all the amazing people I’ve met – clients, other wedding vendors and other photographers. It’s such a blessing to have friends who are passionate about the same thing I am to share this crazy, amazing, awe-inspiring and beautiful journey with. And as a huge perk, sometimes these friends take photos of your child, your family, and you.

Tookie came along to a photographer fundraiser I participated in and a couple of the other photogs took some cool shots of him being his silly, unbelievably adorable self. Here’s a few of my favorites that my friend Kelley of Marie Kelley Photography took.

Oh and psst, I am getting over my fear of looking huge and fat and having maternity photos taken this weekend! So the belly will be making a blog appearance.

Share the Love Mini Sessions | 20 Month Old Twins

This was one of the 30 minute mini-sessions I did for the Share the Love fundraiser benefiting Sow A Seed that SoFly Photographers hosted last weekend. It was such an amazing event and I hope we can do more of them in the future!

I’ll admit, 20 month old twins are tough subjects to photograph. They are always on the move and usually in the opposite direction. But these two cuties were so cooperative, though I think 30 minutes was the perfect amount of time for this age. Tookie came to the fundraiser and insisted on assisting me during this shoot. He was such a good boy and got payed with a new fire truck

David & Diann Engaged | Fort Lauderdale Wedding Photographer

David & Diann are getting married at the gorgeous W Hotel in Fort Lauderdale this June and I cannot wait! This hotel is the epitome of cool. Their engagement session was super cool and I had a great time. Diann is fabulous and brought 4 – yes 4!! - pairs of shoes. How much do I love that? My feet were living through hers vicariously since mine are so horribly swolen from being with child (sounds better than pregnant right?) that I can’t wear anything but flip flops. But hands down the best part of the session was at the end when we were shooting at a closed down fire station. We’re doing our thing and a public servant pulls up in his official car all set to grill us about what we’re doing there. That’s when David pulls out his badge. The guy goes, oh ok, and drives away. How cool is that!?

Niece or Nephew?

Tookie and I flew to Colorado last week for my sister’s baby shower. She is pregnant with her first child and they’ve decided to be surprised by the sex. While I was out there, I had to do a little mini session. Gary even sacrificed watching the Colorado Avalanche for this!

So what do you think? Boy or girl? Oh and they’re taking suggestions for names! (my sister is going to kill me for this)
