Jet Ski Tour of South Padre Island Begins

JUNE 6, 2009 SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TX - Breakaway Cruises does it again (Best Activities) by offering a 2 hour water tour of South Padre Island and Port Isabel on a jet ski. Tours leave our marina and take in Dolphin Cove where you will be up close and personal with the dolphins, out to the jetties where you might catch a wave, down the ship channel into the Port Isabel shrimp basin where you will see all the working shrimp boats. The tour continues into the Laguna Madre, under the Queen Isabella Causeway and into the Port Isabel fingers area and proceeds across the bay to the South Padre Convention and World Birding Centers. The return trip to the marina covers the length of the island along with great views of homes and condos that line the bayside.

This tour is suitable for the entire family. There is no horseplay, or inappropriate activity.

NOTE: This is a guided tour and NOT a jet ski free for all. You will be with a group and will be given our “rules of the water”

South Padre Idol Contest Final Winner

The South Padre Idol contest hosted by Club Pelican West and South Padre Network was a super success. This exciting contest has gained momentum each week finishing with a huge night this past Tuesday at Club Pelican West.

The club was standing room only as the final six contestants took turns under the spotlight. Early estimates of over 400 attendees on a Tuesday night in February left club owners speechless. When all the votes were counted it was announced that Kathryn Cole was this years South Padre Idol Grand Prize Winner and the recipient of the $2500.00 Cash prize
