Bangkok is one of the biggest cities in the whole of Asia and is also considered as South East Asia’s leading business centers. This is a cosmopolitan city where people from all countries visit. The city is very crowded and there is plenty of traffic congestion in this city. These public transport helps you reach your destination on time and are also very convenient. Apart from public transport, there are other modes of transport as well. Let us discuss them.

The arrival visitor can use Airport link service from the connection with Suvarnabhumi International Airport and Bangkok city center. The operating hour between 6.00 am until midnight. The service has 2 routes The express line which can reach the city center in 15-17 minutes and city Line which make 6 stops can reach in 30 minutes. Trains arrive every 15 minutes for both routes. The Airport Rail Link also connect to other public transportation in Bangkok for instance MRT underground at Makkasan City Interchange Station and the Skytrain ( BTS ) at Phayathai Station. Sky Train – Sky Trains or BTS are elevated trains and which runs on 2 lines. The routes of the Sky Train are from Bearing to MoChit and from The National Stadium to Wongwian Yai. MRT - The MRT underground service operating 18 stations through the heart of downtown Bangkok from Bangsue to Hua Lumphong railway station and connects to the Skytrain ( BTS ) at 3 stations: Silom, Sukhumvit and Chatuchak weekend market. Rivers and Canals – Bangkok is popularly known as the Venice of the East mainly because the city has got plenty of canals which are used for transportation. This is a very good option to avoid all the traffic jams and at the same time, you can also see the beautiful city during your travel. The most famous canal is the San Saeb Canal. Along the Chao Phraya River, you can find boats which will take you to many different temples in Bangkok such as Wat Arun, Grand Palace Complex, Wat Pho etc.

Remark : Phuket consist of several beaches surrounding the Island, Below is some recommend beaches which is popular for local people, fine sandy beach and good atmosphere. Visitor can use Song-thaews ( blue bus, one way cost 20-30 baht ) service to and from Phuket Town during daytime or use tuk tuk ( better choice for close distance, rate depend on distance and should negotiate before travelling ) for transportation to each beaches.

Nai Han beach is located to the north of Leam Promthep, about 18 km from town. The beach is fine, not very long stretch but famous about soft sandy beach and borders is the most gorgeous lagoon on the island, beyond the beach is a big marsh called Nong Han. The beach is popular for sunbathing for tourist and sometime it looks lively from yachts float in the sea ahead of the shore. You can enjoy variety of water sports here, however during monsoon season May - October is not good time for swim in this beach because of strong waves.

Nai Thon beach is located 32 km to the north of Phuket town. The beach is fine white sandy beach with crystal clear water and popular for swimming, or scuba diving. If you have a chance to try deep scuba diving to explore the beautiful underwater world here, then you will know its worth to visit this beach. There is a small island called "Waeo Island” a great place for diving and snorkeling, which easily to reach with long tail boat to the island. Nai Thon beach is a quiet atmosphere but still have accommodation provide for tourist.

Surin Beach is one of beautiful beaches with fine white sand and emerald sea. The beach is located near the foothill with is steep and high. It is famous for its breathtaking sunsets on sea surface. This is famous place for local people on the weekend. The beach is quite strong wind so it is suitable for windsurfing and dangerous for swimming in raining season. There are a lot of popular accommodations around hence it is quite and romantic location for relaxing in Phuket.

Kamala Beach is located 2 km next from Surin Beach. The beach is length about 2 km and good for relaxing, you can meet some accommodations from low to higher price around here. However it has little entertainment around here and one is Phuket Fantasea which famous for daily evening shows. The show present about Thai culture in modern technology, the area is decollated in theme parks style which restaurants, souvenir shops and games rooms are available.

Kata beach is one of the most popular beaches in Phuket. The beach is located between Karon and Kata Noi beaches with beautiful curving structure and plam tree surrounding. Many tourists choose to stay here because of quieter than Patong beach and the beach has soft white sand. It quite perfect for swimming here and at the north of the beach, you can find a coral reef with many varied corals and fishes. Karon Beach is well known for the second largest beach in Phuket and locates near to the north of Kata Beach by a small hill split. Koh Khai is a small island in Kao Yao District, Phang Nga. It's only 30 minutes away from the east coast of Phuket . Koh TaChai is well known for diving island. This stand alone island is located between Similand Islands National Park and Surin Islands National Park. Koh Tachai Island has long stretches of white sandy beaches, beautiful waters, rocky and a small mountain viewpoint. Nowadays, the island is well known as the best destination for snorkeling with beautiful coral and many large fish as same as Similan and Surin but it less occupied. Recommend for visitor who prefer less crowed, fresh natural resource and un spoil under water world. The tourist period is open during February to April and after that will be unoccupied.

Getting to Koh Ta Chai need to use a speedboat because it is quite far. You need to buy a one Day Trip (tour) depart from Tap lamu pier ( Phang Nga ) and spend approximately 3-4 hr to Koh Tachai. No accommodation service for tourist on the island.

Koh Hae or Coral Island is in the south of Phuket and nowadays become very popular from beautiful coral reef in shallow water and it is only 20 minutes with speedboat from Ao Chalong Pier. You can enjoy snorkeling or water sport activities on the island.

Koh Racha is consist of 2 islands, Racha Noi island is a small bay with emerald water and famous for fishing. It is not good place for swimming because of there is much rock than beach area. 10 km from Racha Noi island is Racha Yai island has fine beaches and suitable for swim, on the west coast is along stretch beach with crystal clear water and famous for tourist sunbathing. Laem Phromthep Cape is locate at the most southern of Phuket Island, about 2 km from Rawai Beach. It is the beautiful scenery of Phuket since Phromthep is high cliff above the sea. On the right hand side of the cape will be the beautiful white sandy beach, Nai Han beach. The emerald from deep water of the sea is surround the cape and from the cliffs down to the boulders at the sea is a line of palm trees. There are 2 airlines operate service route from Bangkok to Samui Island Thai airways and cheap Thai airline Bangkok airways . Traveling time is approximately 1.05-1.30 hr depend on flight.

Passenger who travels from Bangkok to Surat Thani airport can buy the ticket from reservation desk at the airport. Normally the ticket will sell inclusive both bus or van transfer and ferry or speedboat together.

Travel by car from Bangkok to the southern route through by using Highway no 41 to Chaiya District through the Punpin district intersection. At Punpin district turn right to Highway no 401 ( Surat Thani- Takua pa ) drive through Bgantakun district till km no 109 and turn right. Total distance from start km no 109 to the national park office about 1.5 km.

Travel from Surat Thani or Phang Nga use Highway no 401 until intersection for national park at km no 109 and turn right and drive to the national park office about 1.5 km.

Phra Borom That Chaiya is a statue of Lord Buddha's relics which contains the Buddha Sanctuary in Thailand. The temple is one of the third important temple in south of Thailand. It consists of Phra Borom That Chaiya, Wat Phra Mahathat Nakhon Si Thammarat and Wat Khuhaphimuk of Yala. The architect is influence of Srivijaya style and remain in the best condition at the present. The temple has been assumed as built in Buddhist year 13-14, not shown in the history about builder. Along the courtyard of the chedi are several sculptures and Buddha images.

If driving from Bangkok to Chumphon along Highway no 41 passes through the Thachana district intersection until Chaiya district intersection . At Chiya district drive until Highway no 4011 for about 2 km.

Surat Thani name itself means "City of the Good People". The province located on the east coast of the Thailand and about 645 km from Bangkok, next from Chumphon and it is the largest province in Southern province. Surat Thani is well known as the city of Thousand Islands which locates in the coast in the Gulf of Thailand. The famous islands for tourist are Koh Samui, Koh Pha Ngan , Koh Tao and nowadays become perfect for the vacationers around the world. Simila beach is a famous destination and located at the north of Songkhla Lake next from Laem Son Onn. The beach stretches long to Laem Simila to the south of the beach. Wat Hat Yai Nai is located on Phetchakasem Road and well known for the attractive of large reclining Buddha measuring 35 metres long , 15 metres tall and 10 metres wide. The Buddha is named Phra Phuttha Hattha Mongkhon, has an interesting face, giving different expressions depending on the angle you look from and believe that this large Buddha is the third largest reclining Buddha in the world. Emerald Cave (Morakot Cave ) is located on the west side of Koh Mook and become one of the fantastic place to visit in Thailand. The cave can be reaching only by boat and has an entrance on the bottom of high-rising cliffs which is narrow but wide enough ( not more than 10 m ) for boats to pass through during low tide about and 80 m long . How to go to Koh Mook

The island is about 9 km from Kuan Tung Ku Pier ,the North West of Hat Chao Mai National Park. The visitors can use boat service from Kuan Tung Ku Pier and about 40 baht charge per person. It takes about 30 min to Koh Mook and you need to rent a long tail boat to Morakot Cave( about 100 baht per person). Another way is to rent the boat from Pak Meng Pier straight to Morakot Cave at Koh Muk. The rate is 1800 baht/day talking about 40 minutes.

Koh Rok Rok Island has long beaches with white sandy. The island is suitable for tourist who looking for quite and romantic natural. This is a fine swimming area while it is perfect coral reef and under water world. The island is taken care under Lanta National park as same as Koh Ngai but is the last tourist destination boundary of Trang Sea. Koh Rok comprises two islands namely Koh Rok and Nok and Koh Rok Nai. The distance between the two islands is about 250 m cut across by the water channel while the two sandy beaches of each island confront each other as a beautiful sunset point.

How to go to Koh Rok

By public boat of Libong Travel (package) leaving Pak Meng Pier at 09.00 hr and departing Koh Rok at 14.00 hr. It takes about 2.30 hours between Koh Rok and Pak Meng Pier. There is also the package tour from Saladan Pier at Koh Lanta to Koh Rok by speedboats or long tail boat. It takes about 1.30 hours by long tail boats.

Koh Kradan is one of the most beautiful island in Trang and most of the island belongs to Hat Chao Mai National Park. The powdery white beach and crystal-clear water that permits a great view of the coral reef underneath that stretches from the beach's northern end to the coast are attractive for all visitors. A variety of colorful fish inhabit the shallow water corals making the site perfect for snorkeling.

How to go to Koh Rok

Koh Kradan is to the west of Koh Muk and Koh Libong. Visitors can take a boat from Pak Meng Pier to Koh Kradan. The trip takes 1.30 hours.

Chao Mai National Park covers Kantang district and Sikao District of Trang province. The national park is famous tropical Rain Forest, Lime stone Forest, Beach Forest and Mangrove Forest. The marine ecosystem is Coral reef and is included in 137 square kilometers of sea. The sea area has some 8 kinds of sea grass Between Koh Muk and Koh Yong Ling which provides a home to Dugong which may be the last group of Dungong in Thailand. The national park consist of various attractions Chang Lang Beach, San Beach, Pak Meng Beach ,Yao Beach, Yong Ling Beach, Chao Mai Beach. Moreover, there are 7 other islands in the Trang Sea for which the park is responsible. They are Ko Muk, Ko Kradan, Ko Chuak, Ko Pling, Ko Waen, Ko Meng, and Ko Chao Mai.

How to go to Chao Mai National Park

From Trang province take highway no 4046 (Trang - Sikao) to Highway no 30, turn left to local Highway No. 4162 to Pak Meng Beach, distance about 40 kilometers. At Pak Meng Beach, turn left and follow along the beach road, about 7 kilometers to the Hat Chao Mai National Park. Total distance 47 kilometers.

Ko Kod Kra (kew Kra) is located in Thap Lamu sub district Km no. 545 of highway, 66 kilometers from Ranong downtown, this area is the narrowest point of Malay Peninsula by the distance between East to West Only 44 km. This is a popular attraction for visitors to take a photo of panoramic view of the Kraburi river which borders Thailand – Burma.

Wat Khuhaphimuk (Wat Na Tham)It is one of the three important temple in South of Thailand as Wat Phra Mahathat ( Nakhon Si Thammarat ) and Wat Phra Borommathat Chaiya (Surat Thani ). The temple show the bright history of Buddhism in southern province since the Srivijaya Empire The temple is located in Tambon Na Tham, 8 kilometers from Yala downtown along the route to Iaha district. The name Wat Na Tham means 'A temple in front of a cave’ since this temple has the cave contains an ancient reclining Buddha almost 30m long and the site is believed to have been established in the year 757.

How to get there: temple is 8km from Yala downtown. Visitor can use Hat Yala- Hat Yai ( Songkhla ) bus service and ask the driver to drop off at the Temple. It is a 700m walk from the junction to the temple.

Betong district is located on the most south of Thailand on Highway 410 and about 140 km from Yala downtown. It is the gateway boarder to Malaysia and Singapore. The town is surrounde by high mountains and fantastic atmosphere. The flowers can be grown beautiful all year as the result Betong district has been call 'A Town in the Mist with Beautiful Flowers'.

Tarutao National Park is the first marine national park in Thailand which surrounding of 50 Islands. Two large group of Island are Tarutao and Mu Ko Adang - Rawi. Tarutao National Park is well known for its history and natural attractions of rain forest, fantastic bay, with beautiful white sand beaches. The waters are shallow and rich of deep coral reef and colorful fish species as it is home to dolphins and sea turtles, while whales and dugongs, although rare, have also been spotted. In year 1982, UNESCO announced Tarutao National Park is World Heritage of ASEAN (ASEAN Heritage Parks and Reserves) Tarutao National Park is a unique tourist destination with various great interests as Koh Kai has a natural stone arch spanning between sand and water. Koh Lipe has been called Maldives of Thailand or white and crystal water with full of coral reefs around the island of Koh Ravi is ideal for snorkeling. As the result, Tarutao National Park still has many attractions to show for every visitor.

Getting There

Ferry boats depart regularly from Pak Bara, 60 km. northwest of Satun town, taking 1-2 hours for the journey. Boats may also be hired from the piers at Ko Nok, Tammalang and Chebilang.

Koh Adang and Koh Rawi and are located close together and comes to naming as the twin islands. It is rich of natural resources for tourism, clear waters as very appreciate for underwater world with beautiful coral reef and small or large fishes. On the Beach side is the green forest which is home of the elite and it is the panoramic view of the sea islands as far as to the Malaysian border. In Addition, this point is the perfect place for seeing the sunrise and sunset.

Getting There

The boat leaves from Pak Bara Pier at 10.30 am and will stop at the Tarutao National Park before traveling to Koh Adang and Koh Lipe island . The boat will return from Koh Lipe at 09.00 am of next day, the boat price for return is 800 Baht.

Koh Lipe is one of island in Tarutao National park in the southern of Andaman sea, 45km from Trutao island and 62 km from Pak Bara pier . Lipe is the center of the tourist of the national park as it is the stop point of the boat from Pak Bara pier in the evening. It is white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters make it a perfect destination for a beach holiday. There are 3 main beaches on Koh Lipe, all within 15 minutes walking distance. The tourist is possible to make one day trip around the islands group as each island is nearby islands such as Koh Adang, Koh Rawi, Koh Hin Ngam Island and end up the trip to Koh Lipe in the evening before depart to Satun in next day.

Satun is a small province on the southern of Thailand which border to Malaysia and approximatley 973 kilometers from Bangkok. Satun is a province that has unique lifestyle and culture of Thai- Muslim as well as the famous scenic islands such as Koh Tarutao, Koh Adang - Rawi, Koh Lipe, Koh Hin Ngam, including beautiful caves and waterfalls of the national park. The province itself quite small however, the travelers usually use Satun for the route to offshore islands (Koh Tarutao ,Rawi and Koh Lipe) or Malaysia.

North: borders Amphoe Rattapoom of Songkhla, Amphoe Pa bon of Phattalung and Amphoe Pa Lian of Trang.

East: borders Amphoe Sadao of Songkhla and Perlis of Malaysia.

South: borders Perlis of Malaysia.

West: borders Andaman Sea of India Ocean

Travel to Satun

By train. Using train from Hua Lamphong Station to Hat Yai junction train station spends time from 13.44 hr- 16.52 hr depend on type of train. From Hat Yai, visitors can take a taxi, van, or public bus to Satun. It is 97 kilometres from Hat Yai to Satun. However, I recommend using van at Hat Yai train station as it faster in stead of using bus. It takes about 1 hr by van and 2.30 hr by bus to Satun. Vans and public busses can be found beside Dr. Somphot’s Clinic near Hat Yai train station. Taxi are available in Hat Yai at the Ratthakan Post Office.

There are no direct flights to Satun. The visitors need to take the flight to Hat Yai the nearest airport. From Hat Yai , visitors can either take the train, bus, taxi, or air-conditioned van ( recommend to take van from airport as it is faster ) to Satun (97 km). How to go to Pak Bara pier ( Lipe island and Tarutal National park)

By Self drive Distance of 950 kilometers drive from Bangkok. Visitor can use the highway no 4 route from Bangkok to Thung Song ( Nakhon Si Thammarat ). At Thung Song drive direct to Trang province until reach Highway no 404. Using Highway no 404 route and drive to Palian District and keep driving until La Ngu district. Total distance from La Ngu district to Pak Bara pier is about 12 kilometers.

By bus From Bangkok, visitor need to use Thailand vip bus company operate route between Bangkok – Trang - Satun. Depart from Southern Bus Terminal Bangkok (new terminal) and get off at La Ngu district ( Satun ). At La Ngu district use taxi to Pak Bara pier for distance of 12 kilometers, or use a minibus operating daily service at La Ngu district to pier.

By Tain Satun has no train service from Bangkok, visitor need to use train direct to Hat yai ( Songkhla ). From Hat Yai to be a passenger can use van to Pak Bara Pier. Van transportation terminal operating near the train station and depart every 30 minutes from 07.00 am to 18.00 pm.
