Archie Comics yesterday announced the arrival of a new character in town, the comic's first gay character.

It's about time, right?

If you read the source page, it says the character, Kevin Keller, wins the heart of Veronica (after a lame eating contest no less), but struggles how to tell Veronica he's just not that into her because he's gay.

It's cool that they're introducing the character and being "inclusive" as they say, but what about being inclusive about a woman's intelligence?

Shouldn't Veronica Lodge be smart enough to figure out that the character is gay on her own instead of being portrayed as a dimwit? Just sayin...

The media just can't leave Ricky Martin alone.

Shortly after coming out last month, The Advocate took it upon themselves to give the Latin singer a disgusting to-do list days after proclaiming his gayness. He was then pushed into the political arena by GLAAD, who said he could ease more Latinos into accepting homosexuality in their community.

Now, according to published reports, Raging Stallion Studios, one of the most popular gay porn studios, has proposed giving Martin a $1 million paycheck if he does an xxx-rated scene with porn star Austin Wilde.

What a JOKE!

I'm all for porn, but I find it hilarious that Raging Stallion can't even cough up bigger bucks before sending an alleged offer.

My question is: Why does Ricky Martin have to do ANYTHING now that he's out of the closet? Why is it never ENOUGH for someone to just say their peace and live out their life the way they see fit?

If there's one thing that could bring me out of my self imposed exile from this blog lately, you know it's gotta be a troubled blonde.

I've been following news stories since I've been gone, but: I just don't care.

However, I do care about Heather Locklear, who is once again at the center of a questionable incident.

Earlier today, TMZ reported that Locklear was involved in a hit-and-run accident last weekend that totaled a speed limit / no parking sign and left visible damage to her 2005 black BMW outside of her gated community home in Ventura, California.

A neighbor who heard the crash at 4 A.M. on April 17, 2010, didn't report the crash until about 8 P.M. that night.

The sign was later replaced, as seen in TMZ's photo gallery of the incident, and Locklear was cited with a misdemeanor hit-and-run ticket.

She was not arrested, handcuffed or taken into custody, but will be in court on May 17, 2010, to deal with the incident.

Locklear's attorney says Heather may not have been driving the vehicle last Saturday, but what I want to know is: Why are we hearing about this NOW?

At any rate, I believe her teenaged daughter, Ava, may have something to do with the accident. Did she steal mom's car keys in a late-night attempt at a joyride? Probably.

Either way, it's another blow for Heather, who is serving three years probation for a 2008 DUI charge.

Melrose Place's Season Finale Tonight!

Melrose Place's season finale airs tonight at 9/8c on The CW. The revamped series, which still hasn't been picked up for a second season, wraps up all of its storylines tonight. Will the show be picked up or leave quietly? Who knows, but here's an official synopsis for the finale:

IT’S ELLA VS. AMANDA IN THE SEASON FINALE AND ONLY ONE WILL BE LEFT STANDING/LAURA LEIGHTON MAKES A SURPRISE APPEARANCE

Amanda (Heather Locklear) fires Ella (Katie Cassidy) from WPK. However, not one to go out without a fight, Ella searches for anything to blackmail Amanda. Unfortunately for one of the ladies, the end result is worse than she could have ever imagined. Meanwhile, after attending a NYU reunion, Jonah (Michael Rady) asks Riley (Jessica Lucas) to reconcile and Lauren (Stephanie Jacobsen) and David (Shaun Sipos) get back together but a jealous Morgan (guest star Melissa Ordway) retaliates and puts Lauren’s life in jeopardy.

Drew (Nick Zano) tries to stop Michael (Thomas Calabro) from performing a dangerous surgery, but Michael sets Drew up to get caught with drugs, causing Drew to be thrown out of ULA. Finally, Sydney (Laura Leighton) makes a surprise appearance.

I really hope this show gets picked up, but it doesn't look likely. The CW's upfront, which is where a network unveils their programming slate for the year -- is scheduled for May 20, 2010, so they have until that date to decide the show's fate.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Tune in tonight, especially if you've haven't seen it yet :)

Megan Fox Eyeing Red Sonja?

Reports circled yesterday that Megan Fox may have her eyes on the lead role in Red Sonja.

Almost two years ago, it was announced that Rose McGowan would take the lead in the 1985 remake, which was to be produced by her then boyfriend, Robert Rodriguez.

The following month, teaser posters were released featuring a titian-haired Rose in a makeshift costume with a sword. She even expressed excitement over the film.

Since then, McGowan has secured a non-Red Sonja role in the Conan remake, leaving the lead role up for grabs.

Megan Fox has been offered the role, but hasn't accepted or rejected it as of yet.

Should Fox take the role or wait until Transformers 3 clears the box office?

Personally, I just don't think she's right for the role at all.

Chris Evans On Captain America

Chris Evans broke his silence this past holiday weekend at this year's WonderCon and addressed why he took the role of Steve Rogers/Captain America:

"I think Marvel is doing a lot of good things right now, and it's a fun character. Even if it wasn't a comic book. I think the story of Steve Rogers is great. He's a great guy. Even if it was just a script about anybody, I would probably want to do it. So it wasn't necessarily about the comic itself. He's a great character. He's a great character to play. He just happens to be a comic book character."

I just hope the script is up to snuff.

Vivid Entertainment Postpones McCready's Sex Tape

Country singer Mindy McCready is still seeing red after news broke that adult film company, Vivid Entertainment, announced plans to release an alleged sex tape featuring the scandal-ridden songstress.

McCready has hired a lawyer who sent a Cease and Desist order to the porn company, which has failed to use the proper legal channels to clear such a release with McCready, who maintains the company should stop using her likeness.

In response, Vivid Entertainment had this to say: "We've decided to take a little extra time to study all of our documentation and other clearances before we proceed," Vivid Entertainment founder Steven Hirsch said in a statement. "I want a chance to review the correspondence from Mindy's attorney, Adam Dread, and to prepare a proper response to the letter he has sent to us."

It was set for release on April 19, 2010, one day shy of the release date for Mindy's new CD, I'm Still Here.

Hopefully, she'll win out. She's been through so much in the last few years, she deserves a break from being dragged through the mud.

Jennifer Hudson Joins Weight Watchers

Did Gabourey Sidibe have anything to do with this, and how many people are going to give Hudson flack for actually losing weight?

While I'm on the subject, a couple weeks ago Howard Stern blasted Gabourey Sidibe's weight, claiming that she wouldn't have a career because of it, but I have something to say in light of Hudson's partnership with Weight Watchers.

We shouldn't be celebrating the fact that Gabourey Sidibe is overweight, because she's not. She's obese.

If everyone keeps telling her, "Oh, I love the way you look because you're not a waif, don't ever change," how is that helping her? I'm not saying we shouldn't applaud someone for not giving a shit, but clearly, Gabourey is obese and at the very least, she needs to lose some weight if she wants to LIVE.

On the flip side, like I said, Hudson is going to get flack for "selling out" and slimming down.

No matter what side of the coin you fall on, you can't win.

Marvel Confirms Chris Evans for Captain America

Earlier today, Marvel Studios officially confirmed Chris Evans' casting as Captain America in the upcoming adaptation to the iconic American hero, which will also be a remake of the 1990 disaster starring Matt Salinger.

In addition to Marvel's statement, yesterday saw the casting of Sebastian Stan (Gossip Girl) as Captain America's young sidekick, Bucky Barnes.

The film is set for a July 22, 2011 release.

Rejoice, fans. Or, tear your hair out in frustration of the casting.

So, the Internet is all abuzz about the fact that Charlie Sheen might be leaving his "hit" TV show, Two and a Half Men, because he's "tired of the demands of a weekly show and wants to focus on movies."

LOL.

Yeah, because The Arrival was such a good film, right?

His recent legal troubles have also been weighing on him, but I say good riddance.

Two And a Half Men isn't even close to real life and from the episodes I've seen, which have been many, prove that it's the most stereotypical, homophobic show I've ever seen.

On top of that, it makes straight men look even worse.

But, there's no chance in hell that CBS is going to cancel it. I wonder who they'd replace him with?

Earlier this week, Mindy McCready's name popped back into the headlines with her OWN sex tape.

Now, a rep for McCready says legal action if it's determined that footage from the tape has been stolen.

Amidst all of this, there's speculation that McCready's upcoming tour, in support of her newly released CD, I'm Still Here, which was released roughly one week ago.

Some reports have even claimed that the footage in the tape is at least three years old and McCready herself says that she's not even sure if it's really her.
