6th Annual CRTTW Through the combined efforts of Compass Systems, Inc., Naval Tees LLC (NavyChief.com), and the Patuxent River Chief Petty Officers (CPO), the local Southern Maryland Community is honoring our Veterans and Navy CPO's, as well as raising money for the local Veteran's Home. Compass Systems' Executive Vice President, Frank Deaton (retired Navy CPO) is proud to announce the 6th Annual "Navy Chief's Ride to the Wall", a local motorcycle enthusiast's groups ride, joining thousands of other riders from across the country for years "26" Rolling Thunder on Sunday, 26 May 2013 in Washington, DC. The Navy Chief's Ride to the Wall event is also sponsored by the Patuxent River Chief Petty Officers and local Business Naval Tees LLC (NavyChief.com). 100% of all funds raised by the event will be donated to the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in Charlotte Hall, MD. As a tribute to the Veterans, the group will ride through the Veteran's home parking lot on their way to Rolling Thunder to pay their respects. The Kickoff of this local event will be held in the compass Systems parking lot, 21471 Great Mills Rd., Lexington Park, MD 20653. Jeff Hobrath, owner of Naval Tees and also retired Navy CPO, is providing the T-Shirts for the Chiefs Ride to the wall event. Navy Chief Petty Officer's and local contractor's to mark Memorial Day NAS Patuxent River Petty Officer Association, Great Mills-based defense contractor Compass Systems, Inc. and apparel provider Navychief.com are co-organizers of the 6th Annual "Navy Chiefs Ride for the Wall". This annual event is intended to honor Memorial Day and all those who served with a motorcycle ride to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. All riders are welcome to join the Chief Petty Officers as they ride to raise money for the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. There will be a registration fee of $25.00 per rider and includes a complimentary T-shirt. Riders will meet at the Compass Systems office, 21471 Great Mills Rd., Lexington Park, MD, Sunday morning, May 26th 2013, between 6 and 6:30 a.m. and will then proceed to All American Harley Davidson in Hughesville, between 7 and 7:15 a.m., where they will join other riders to make their way to the Pentagon to participate in Rolling Thunder 2013. Sotterley Plantation’s War of 1812 Living History “The Choice” will be part of the three year national bicentennial commemoration of this war in our region. “The Choice” will take place on Saturday, May 25th at 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., & 12:00 p.m.

The war with the British brought hardship to the plantation but a chance at freedom for the enslaved. At this living history presentation you will meet the people who lived and labored at Sotterley during the summer of 1814. Join us and be a part of the drama as slaves must make a difficult and daring choice. What will you decide?

This Living History event is made possible by the generosity of the Maryland Humanities Council, Maryland Heritage Areas Authority, Southern Maryland Heritage Area Consortium, and Old Line Bank.

The Toronto Fingerstyle Guitar Association calls him "the Jedi Master of Fingerstyle Guitar"… Stephen has traveled the world and performed with the best. From California to Maine, Texas to Tennessee, as well as around Europe, Canada, Australia and Japan, Stephen has played all sorts of venues and events. He has released 20 recordings of music, along with a couple of DVDs, books and other instructional materials - and he's always working on something new! The testimony of those who hear Stephen is that his work is the product of both mind and heart, intellectually challenging and emotionally satisfying - - and it is deeply personal, even as it is universal.
