In the coming weeks and months we respectively ask our patients to understand the necessary schedule changes required to help us accomodate Dr. Gozia’s treatment and recovery. This will be a difficult time for SOGA both emotionally and operationally, but we are committed to providing the same best-in-class care as Dr. Gozia goes through the recovery process.

Some of you may have been asked to reschedule your appointments and others may have noticed some of our quivering lips and sad eyes. Almost exactly 5 years after my last bout with cancer it seems like I will have the opportunity to walk that road again. On a routine colonoscopy, which I had put off like many patients, I had a small spot of cancer. I will be in the process of having this evaluated and hopefully treated over the next couple of weeks. We ask your patience, prayers and understanding as we make this journey. I would take this opportunity to remind everyone to get a colonoscopy done, sooner versus later. – Dr. Penny Gozia

While the SOGA YouTube Channel has been in existence for over 2 years, we have decided to make it a bigger piece of our health education initiatives. The channel now contains educational videos from our KSDK interviews, SOGA news, women’s health playlists and a SOGA Center for Medical Weight Loss playlist. Every single day I’m in the office doing annual wellness exams, I talk to at least one person, if not more, who is struggling to lose weight. I talk to even more who are concerned about their weight and want recommendations on how to lose weight. In 12 years of private practice, I have observed different things work for different people but the one thing everyone seems to struggle with is keeping the weight off once they have reached their goal.
