The Early Bird Period for the Bead-Dazzled Mystery BOM is ending on 1 February. If you are interested in the mystery, don't miss out and sign up. Early Bird prices are available for a few more days!

The drawing for the Batik fabric bundles is after 1 February, after the Early Bird is expired.

This new BOM is focused on the blocks, which are designed to fit together in columns. This gives you so much flexibility in your setting and you can easily add blocks to make your quilt larger. Best of all, the blocks go together super quickly.

All blocks are unique and dimensional and provided in 3 sizes.

Two main sizes are provided for each block. Then there is a bonus mini-size, which is all figured out for you. That's three sizes for one block. What can I say - I like to have options. . . . . That is all for now. The rest is still a mystery.

This BOM has a flexible, customizable setting. Several options will be revealed during the course of the mystery.

To expand your setting further, plan for extra background fabric.

So here is my project:

My Green Tea Pattern let me use many of the fun Tiki Fabrics and was a great way to play with the fabrics.

The fun thing about this leaf pattern is that anything goes and any size strip can be used to make this fun leaf. It is a perfect way to use scraps and also a fun way to play with new fabrics.

I did have a little fabric left over after cutting several strips of the fat quarters and decided to play some more and make some pinwheel blocks. Such fun fabric combinations, I think I will write these up as a little quilt.

Working on the Mystery BOM

Preparations for the Bali Blooms Mystery BOM are in full swing. I am creating more graphs and videos for this little quilting adventure and have recorded how to finish the Bali Blooms X. I use my X Block to demonstrate the technique without revealing any of the mystery blocks.

Check out a shorter snip of the Quilt Snacks video from last Wednesday below to see my top-stitching tips and tricks.

This video is a great resource for everyone - not just for Mystery participants.

I know you do, so here is my Summer Quilt Challenge for you!

Use up some of your colorful scraps: 3-1/2", 2-1/2, and 2" squares to make a Fish Tail Quilt. Here are some images to get you inspired and started. I will post the approximate number of squares needed for a 30" x 30" and 30" x 40" quilt in the comments.- so who wants to play?
Check below for the recommended number and sizes for the quilt.

Challenge: Come up with an original way to let your fish swim.

The design is basic and works well in a mock-up so you can plan your colors.

Plan on using these Scraps for a 30" x 30" or 30" x 40" quilt:

background squares
100 - 3-1/2” squares
100 - 2” squares, folded in half to make folded triangles to form the fish body.

colorful scrappy squares
50 - 3-1/2” squares for the fish body
50 - 2-1/2” squares for the tail
