But I do feel that 1 day in akibahara is a little bit too short… Furthermore, you don’t stay near that area… however you sure got to get a bit of shopping done at Nagano Broadway and during the TAF(where all the rare stuff are, really!!!)

So if you have preordered the A Child’s Dream at SOY’b today please do the necessary, knowing that all this will be worth it!

Yah sure, in another 5 to 6 years, they will be… with a blatant copy of Macross’s design… and even the Shen Mu, the flagship in the series… looking like the white horse or more recently the ReHome(Cornelius-class, in Gundam Seed Astray)

Perhaps the reason so many are actually copying Macross is because of the mess that the copyrights owners are in, thanks to an agreement to allow 1 American company to handle the rights outside of Japan… Instead of doing it good, they turn it into robotech and stick by it… blocking all attempts by others to export the original Macross anywhere.

Anyway, the new chinese dong hua, Astro plan, is almost the same as the other productions, nothing fanciful and endearing… Infact, why not you watch it yourself.

It’s like watching an anime from the 60s, heck it’s worse, compared to the classics like Yamato and etc. Well atleast they did the CG part correctly most of the time…

Looks like the PLA should have been the people to lead to the Dong Hua development in China, they got a better production house to make their Red Rightous Army PR video.

P.S I can’t help but giggle and laugh… … when watching this show… It sure is entertaining… Like watching Zhou Xing Xing acting as Amuro… … All the anger just seem so funny…

A new anime/manga related movie will be coming to our cinemas soon, all thanks to encore films, the same group bringing us 20th Century Boys III later this month.

And the movie they are bringing in is KAIJI: The Ultimate Gambler! To be opening in Singapore’s screen this March 11th.

Other movies that they will be bringing us are, Summer Wars, this 25th February. And Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva, opening 18th March 2010.

Synopsis:

KAIJI is an exciting psychological thriller starring Tatsuya Fujiwara as Kaiji, man forced to enter a deadly gambling competition aboard a cruise ship, to erase a large financial debt. This movie is the first time that “Death Note” co-stars Tatsuya Fujiwara and Kenichi Matsuyama are reuniting to work together!

Based on Nobuyuki Fukumoto’s hit manga series which has sold over 11 million copies, Kaiji is a 26 year-old job-hopping bum who suddenly finds himself riddled in debt after a shadowy loan company informs him that he is responsible for a loan taken by his friend (who has since gone missing) and whom he casually co-signed as a loan guarantor for!

The company gives Kaiji the solution of a lifetime – to take a short journey on the “Espoir,” a ship where other debtors such as himself gamble to pay off their debt and try to strike it rich at the same time. The rules of the gambling games seem simple at first but there’s much more than meets the eye…

Now stuck in a closed world of unsavory characters willing to do anything to defeat him, the game that will totally change Kaiji’s life has begun!

He is credited as the one that started the Gekiga(alternative) style of manga, his works might not be those that you have heard before, with titles like, The push man, Abandone the Old in Tokyo and etc…

His contribution made manga today a story, an art and not just a series of pictures mean to poke fun or childish mangas.

Yoshihiro Tatsumi, will be appearing at the Main store tomorrow at 2pm. This event is also to promote his book A Drifting Life, an autobibography of Yoshihiro Tatsumi from the 1940s to the 1950s.

Homegrown director, Eric Khoo is even going to be making an animated featured film based on A Drifting Life.

A person who simply enjoys “anime.”
Is proud of Japan’s anime.
Evaluates anime based on direction, voice acting, art, etc.
Hates shallow anime with no real content.
Story emphasis >>>>> Moe anime.
A recent example would Higashi no Eden. Fans of anime like Lain or Ghost in the Shell would probably be this kind.

Type B:
A person who simply enjoys “characters.”
Will watch an anime if it includes cute or beautiful characters.
Doesn’t care if story is awful, as long as the characters are of interest.
Evaluates anime based on which seiyuu are in it and what the characters look like.
Loves moe elements. Doesn’t like complex anime.
The otaku the media picks up on are usually this kind.
Doesn’t know that much about anime and so is often criticised as by Type A otaku.
However, they make much better customers than the more discerning Type A otaku.
Recently there has been a huge increase in anime targeted at Type B otaku.
People who like K-ON!, Queen’s Blade, Strike Witches and so on would be in this class.

Personally I think I’m one of the type that got stucked in the middle… I loved K-On and would have class them as a good anime, both entertaining, endearing and lighthearted. Actually not only K-On, I liked Lucky Star, SHNY, and many other aimed at the Type Bs

While at the same time I judge anime by it’s watching value, the art, soundtrack and most importantly the story, which is why I droped Queen’s Blade, but took up Basquash(which I feel, should be awarded the award for the best anime not many watched.).

Even my buying habit is not those of a type B… Those who knows me will know that I’m not a big buyer of figurines… but I do buy Mangas, DVDs and CDs. In fact I love them!

So what should I be? A type AB or a BA? Tell me!

It will not be a long post of words since picture says a thousand words, so I have plenty. But those looking to see the girls, you’re flat out of luck. O_O|||

However I can describe to you, that girls, Ringo and Mero, are wearing angel themed shirts for the christmas promotion and they look splendid in it, very.

Those that have visited during the christmas season, should have been greeted by this gratifying sight of a christmas tree with it’s pink stockings. The shop is pink, and that would be an understatment. 

See the cafe’s front? It did attract quite alot of attention, during my visit there, there were families looking curiously thru the glass. Oh yah, they have Cola Spa as a neighbour.

It even has this plates of motherboards sticked together at the side of the front, which makes an interesting sight, most of them are server class mother boards thou.

This is the inside of the cafe, very pink, right? The colour scheme here is almost consisting of red, pink and white. All the chairs have also be fitted with what looks like a dog/cat ears… ah poor animals…

Being the first visit, I didn’t really get to walk around much… Haiz…

My verdict? Hmm, A87, even though is not really what I expected, the feeling is beautiful. I felt relaxed. The service is agreeable and the food, delicious. As for the girls, they can make the place more homey if they can be less shy and more open.

I give Mero high marks! She is good. As for Ringo, she is not bad either.

It’s maid cafe worth going to, cos it’s fun… Total bill, $65 for 4 person.

Final Volume of Full Metal Panic Light Novel Being Written
Author Shoji Gatoh stated in a Tuesday blog entry that he is presently writing the final volume of his Full Metal Panic! high school action comedy light novels. He anticipates that it will be released this spring. Gatoh has not ruled out writing more Full Metal Panic! short stories; in fact, Fujimi Shobo’s Dragon Magazine will publish a new Full Metal Panic! short story, set during the characters’ second high school year, on January 20 to mark its 300th issue.

Kimi ni Todoke Manga Gets Live-Action Film
The February issue of Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret magazine will be announcing that a live-action film adaptation of Karuho Shiina’s Kimi ni Todoke manga has been green-lit. More details will be provided in future issue of Bessatsu Margaret, although the next issue does include a message from Shiina regarding the news.

AKB48 Idol Group Get Spinoff Offers in 6 Countries
The Yomiuri Shimbun paper’s website reports that Yasushi Akimoto, the producer and songwriter of the Japanese female idol group AKB48, is entertaining offers for spinoff groups from seven television stations and production companies in six countries. The six countries include Thailand, Singapore, China, and Italy.
