I love, love, love it when I get a submission of a fun, detail-filled, meaningful wedding that was planned in a short time frame (so don’t stress out brides – it can be done) & today’s beauty is no exception. Planned in less than 3 months, this natural chic affair is relaxed & down to earth yet detail oriented & *filled* with emotional meaningfulness & of course the stunning photos by Shannon Moore Photography don’t hurt either… a bit about the day from Shannon: “Drew and Brittany have been together for about 7 years, so when they finally got married everyone was more than excited. They planned their wedding in less that 3 months with the help from friends and family who all pitched in with every aspect of the wedding. The ceremony and reception took place on a friends private ranch in San Luis Obispo, Ca. The ceremony was under some of the most beautiful oak trees. For weeks before the wedding Drew was at the ceremony site, along with friends, making the path way that they walked up, triming trees and building the beautiful bridge over the creek. ”

Cozy Pennsylvania Engagement Session by Swoon Imagery

Just the thing for your Monday morning, Tarah & Justin’s cozy & rustic engagement shoot is one of those that definitely falls into the “feel-good” category. I love it when a shoot says something about the couple, and allows their personalities to shine through, & this one does exactly that! Amy of Swoon Imagery gives a bit of background on this special shoot… “We kind of made a photo road trip out of it, and even stopped off at a local antique store who’s owner gladly let us use her shop and grounds as the back drop for our session, amongst other unpaved roads and empty fields. Tarah and Justin are really into art music and literature so I was really excited when Tarah pulled out books and a blanket. Being a wedding photographer is amazing fun, but it’s even better when you can use it to capture the love with in your own family and soon to be family. Tarah and Justin are an amazing couple..I’m just lucky to be the sister of the groom!”

French Shabby Chic Wedding Inspiration by Jessica’s Country Flowers Events

Ooooh do I have some SERIOUS prettiness to share with you on this Friday. From the creative genius that is Jessica’s Country Flowers Events comes this absolutely gorgeous French-inspired shabby chic wedding inspiration. A bit about the shoot from Jessica; “My inspiration was honestly, the space. We found the space and fell in love. I wanted to design a French-inspired shabby chic shoot with lots of details, something purely romantic. The space has beautiful white painted wood framed windows which overlook the water falls. It also has original hardwood floors which are painted slate gray. We decided to do long, family style seating with farmhouse style tables, add a gorgeous platinum pintuck table runner and soft romantic flowers. Overhead, we hung vintage wooden window panes (which were picked up from a local handy man who’s company replaces windows) and chandeliers that added some sparkle.” I think I’m in love…

“Our hope is that brides realize that they really can create any look. The more details, the more interest it adds to your wedding. Every little extra touch you can add to your décor makes a huge difference. This look is romantic and yet completely inviting. Long family-style tables will allow guests to mingle and get to know one in other.”

& for even more of the lovely details… ” Flowers were fresh mint, dusty miller, garden spray roses. I put heads of open peonies and garden roses in vintage Depression glass tea cups (which I bought at a local vendor who was retiring and they were $1 each).

I am so very lucky that my parents own a small farm. Their main product is maple syrup and honey. They make many other confections as well. I utilized vintage mason jars from their farm, as well as reclaimed barn wood which was taken off their sugar house to create a custom table. The vintage window panes came from a family friend who has a window replacement company. Rod iron chandeliers were something we had purchased a few years back. We added oil candles and draped crystal garland on them. Along with my mother, I made raspberry rhubarb jam from their farm. (Lamothe’s Sugar House) We printed really great tags and tied them on with natural twine. I had a custom invitation designed and we had it printed in letterpress at our local printer. Letterpress is gorgeous, and the invites were printed on Crane paper in a soft white on #220 paper. Simplistic and so very pretty!”
