When you saw me in my lavender swimsuit the other day, I bet you thought, “Oh, it’s warm now, but give it a couple of days and it’ll be in the 60s.”

No such luck. It’s going to be in the 80s and 90s all week! So I have some more unseasonable cat fashion to show you. My human and I picked these up at my recent visit to the big chain store, and I’ve been waiting for the opportunity to show them off.

I might as well start with this dress, since I don’t seem to have any accessories to match it. It’s got an odd tomato red color on the bow and piping…even though it’s got a cherry print. Literally none of the necklaces or hats I have go with it. It’s a cute dress, though! And it has a petticoat underneath that makes the skirt puff out.

The other thing we got was this lavender t-shirt. I know it looks plain from the front.

But you can see the pretty, shimmery pattern on the back here. It even changes color depending on the angle you see it.

And yes, I did have accessories to match! I had a beaded necklace that matched the pattern and this hat with a lavender band the same color as the shirt.

Have you ever met someone who was so focused on what they were doing that they can’t see what’s right in front of them? That’s my human! Here I am trying to get her attention.

I told you I wasn’t fond of posing in this pretty part of the front yard. Now you have proof.

I look like I’m taking a selfie here…and it looks just about as good as most selfies I’ve seen humans take.

This rather odd and equally unseasonable cat swimsuit! Well, now my human finished the video, and it’s live.

I got to visit one of my local pet shops. It’s actually the one I know best, and it’s only a few minutes from my house.

Of course I immediately took charge and interrupted some transaction going on at the counter. Everything tends to stop when I walk in. I didn’t get any treats this time (a lot of times the cashier has something for me), but I did get a lot of attention.

It’s usually quiet enough there that I’m able to wander as I please. Even the dog section, if I’m in the mood.

Eventually I made my way back to all the cat stuff.

And of course I checked out the cat toy section.

My human offered me a couple but nothing really got me all that excited.

Finally it was time to check out. For some reason, I decided I liked the dog chews and started chewing on one. So my human bought it for me.

Of course I supervised the checkout process.

It was a very fun shopping day!

After yesterday’s photo session, my human wanted to take some portraits of me. The late afternoon light was perfect, and this is one of the prettiest spots in the front yard. But it’s also close to the street, and even though my human says it’s quiet, I still don’t like it much.

But my human said I would be well compensated so I agreed!

As you can see, I became a lot more cooperative!

I sat for some close ups.

I even offered a profile or two.

And got my compensation!

So it’s fall now, which means it’s supposed to be hoodie weather, right?

Not so fast! It’s still warm here in southern California and I haven’t really modeled this swimsuit yet. I wore it once briefly for Cat World Domination Day, and haven’t put it on since. So I figured I’d better model it before the weather really started to cool off.

Here are the bottoms…and yes, there’s a hole for my tail.

Here it is with the top on. I think it’s supposed to be some sort of halter but getting it on was a little confusing.

My human thought we had this week’s therapy cat visit at the children’s hospital scheduled for Wednesday. Well, it turned out to be Monday and she found out less than an hour before we were supposed to be there. Somehow she managed to get things together, even though she had to get me up out of my morning nap to get me ready.

And it was so worth the rush! We had a great time there visiting with the kids and parents and even some staff. The first boy I saw playing in the lobby area was 12 years old, like me. His mom liked me a lot too. Then when my human set me on a table, she could tell I really wanted to jump on the sofa next to another boy instead. She asked the boy’s dad if it was okay, and he said yes, so I did.

The last family I visited with was a little girl with both her parents. Her dad asked a lot about therapy pet work. He thought his dog would be great because he loved people so much. The funny thing was, his dog totally wouldn’t be able to do it because he was hyper and not that well trained. Which he figured out after chatting with my human for a while. But she suggested that maybe when the dog was older and calmer, he might be able to give it a try. He really did love his dog.

The exam rooms had a bunch of different patients. An older teen boy with a Dodgers wristband was in the first room. The older boys are the least likely to want a visit from me, but most of them, like this one, did on this day. The next room had a little toddler with a sunny smile and he happily petted me. He even learned how to do it the right way. He wasn’t even the patient — his tween brother was, and he enjoyed me too.

One visit was especially fun. It was a mom and an older teen boy. The moment the mom saw my human and I her face lit up and she said hello like she knew us. She looked familiar to my human too. It turned out that she volunteers at the hospital on one of the days we usually visit. So they got to chat a lot while I visited with the boy.

The last kids I saw were a young brother and sister who were in the same play area that my 12-year-old friend had been in. The boy had his arm in a sling, but it didn’t stop him from petting me. He asked what was wrong with me. Apparently, he mistook my vest for a sling like the one he was wearing! So my human and his mom explained that it was my uniform and I was working. And honestly, it’s one of the best ever jobs I can think of having.

I got to play my favorite game, which is chasing treats. And my human randomly picked out several totally inappropriate outfits for me to wear while I was doing it! Here they are:

A fancy black dress that actually kind of weighed a lot!

It’s time for outtakes, and I have all sorts of silliness for you this week.

Does it look like I’m trying to swipe a treat out of my human’s hand? Not very good therapy cat behavior, I know, but yes, that is what I was trying to do.

Yes, I can look glamorous and photogenic…just not all the time.

I wanted to look perfect, so I needed to take a grooming break in the middle of the photo session!

It’s Pirate Day! And while a lot of humans are going around, trying to talk like a pirate (badly!), I’m just happy to look like one. Plus I have a cat pirate ship. Actually, it predates me. As far as I can tell, my human got it in 2009, after a friend got one for his cat.

But one thing that cat didn’t have was a pirate costume. And I have three of them!

There’s this one…and if it looks a little snug, well, it should. It’s actually a costume for a Guinea pig!

Then there’s this ridiculous thing! My human usually doesn’t get costumes like this, where my front legs go into the pants part. I think somebody may have given this one to her.

Then there’s this one! It was actually the first outfit I ever wore — like the pirate ship, this outfit also predates me. But once my human figured out I was perfectly happy wearing it, we never looked back!
