Remember my Medieval Cat Advent Calendar? That was pretty awful. But as if we couldn’t take enough punishment, my human got me a Cat Halloween Advent Calendar. At least this one has cat toys in each slot instead of trinkets. Unfortunately, as you’ve probably gathered, I don’t play with a whole lot of toys. I have my favorites, and that’s about it.

Undaunted, I’ve embarked on a new video series: 13 days, 13 Halloween cat toys. Today I have day one. I won’t be posting each one here (you’ll have to subscribe to my YouTube channel for that!). But I will be sharing the two recaps I’ll have along the way.

Each video will have the same premise: we’ll see if I like the toy or would rather chase after treats. Oh, and of course I’ll be wearing a different costume every day. The first entry is below. Find out what I thought!

This specific cat Halloween advent calendar is out of stock, but if you have a cat that would play with these toys and want something similar, try this one: https://link.amazon/B065KA2GH (Note: we are Amazon affiliates and will get a small commission if you click on the link and make a purchase. Thank you for your support!)

It’s time once again for outtakes! And I bet you’re not surprised that most of these photos feature me dressed for Halloween.

In spite of appearances, no, I am not breaking into an aria.

Did you guess that that yellow blur is my fish hat?

If you subscribe to me on YouTube, you know I’m doing a livestream today! And the video thumbnail has me posing with some of my Halloween decor and playthings…only without my tongue out. I’ll be live today, October 18 at 11 AM Pacific Time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBaVA_QUV8Q If you missed it, you can use the same link for the replay.

I was definitely not ready for my closeup…and my human wasn’t ready to take the photo, either.

And that’s it for the outtakes! If you have a favorite, let me know in the comments.

I got to visit one of my favorite local pet shops! We were almost out of my dinner food, so we were due.

We’re back to having hot weather again, at least for a few days, so they had a fan on in the store.

They always have new toys and cat stuff to check out.

I couldn’t help paying some special attention to the catnip toys.

As you can tell, I really wanted my human to get me some treats, but she insisted we didn’t need more.

The staff at the checkout did give me some treat samples, though!

As you can see, it was a pretty simple trip, but I had a good time!

In case you’re wondering, I get right back into the carrier when we are done. And I wait just like this for my human to zip me up and fasten the seat belt.

It’s part 2 of my Halloween costumes of the past. Did you see part 1 yet? If not, stop by — it covers 2014 (yes, the very beginning!) to 2019. Here, we’re starting with 2020 and this lobster costume.

This unicorn outfit was so new in 2021 that it still had the tag on it.

In 2022, I had a Readers Choice contest where you (if you were around in 2022) picked their favorite costume. The winner was this steampunk outfit.

I didn’t have any new costumes in 2023, but my human did get some fancy Halloween headbands that had witch hats attached to them. She brought them home and turned them into surprisingly stylish cat hats. This one is a fan favorite to this day.

This 2024 Teddy bear costume makes everyone laugh…but you have to see it on video to really get the full effect!

And finally, here’s 2025 and I’m in my Glinda the Good Witch costume with the wonky crown.

Which one is your favorite? Which do you think was the weirdest? Let me know in the comments.

I had a livestream on YouTube over the weekend! It was a Halloween party and hangout, so I wore a lot of different costumes and festive outfits.

If you missed it, you are not alone! I’m pretty bad at sharing about them outside of YouTube. So mainly the people that come are my hardcore YouTube audience. But I had lots of fun, dressing up, doing tricks, and being in front of the camera. Did I know people were watching me? I think I did feel the energy because I was pretty happy the whole time.

It took a couple of days, but my human pulled some of the best moments from the live and you can see them below. If you want to see the whole livestream, it’s here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pV203u–Jo

I hope to do another one very soon…maybe even this weekend!

As you probably recall, I had five Halloween collars to choose from for my visit to the memory care residents. Between my blog readers and all my social media accounts, the favorites seemed to be my purple collar and my ribbon collar with the pumpkins. Well, guess what? I got to wear both!

I don’t talk about it much, but I actually have two residences on this visit. The one I talk about the most has residents who need more care. So I wore the more simple, purple collar there. Most of the people at the other residence are more cognizant, so I wore the collar with the pumpkins there. And I’ll tell you a little about my visits to both places.

The first one had a big pet therapy sign up on the TV screen to let everyone know I was there. And lots of people wanted to see me. Two of my first visits were with Spanish speaking women who were very nice. In between them, I got to see one of my regulars — a guy who loves me, but doesn’t remember me all that well from visit to visit. I also got to see one of my new favorite regulars, the happy guy with the oxygen tubes in his nose.

My friend who likes my high fives was practically buried under a blanket (it was a little chilly this morning!). I didn’t mind…in fact, I loved it and made happy paws on the blanket and laid down for a while. She made sure one of the staff took a photo of me sitting with her. She has not been doing that well the past few visits, and my human is a little concerned about her.

I also saw one of my other favorite regulars, and two people who were new to me: a man and a woman. One of the staff members told my human they were a married couple.

As always, we made the rounds of the people in wheelchairs, and some of them who are normally asleep were awake to see me today. One of my regulars who has been depressed was back to her cheerful self, which was nice. I got lots of attention, and some hugs, and the lady who follows us around was there, yes, following us around the wheelchair bound residents. She’s gotten a little vague, but she still remembers my human when she sees her.

One person we didn’t see in the big room was our special friend, the nonverbal lady who pets me with heavy hands. But we found her in the lobby when we were getting ready to leave. She showed my human one of her drawings, which she was carrying around. So that was a nice end to the visit to that house.

Our visit to the second house is usually a lot shorter. It has fewer residents and they don’t announce our arrival at their big room. But we do have some regulars, like the lady who always has a blanket covering her lap and her legs. Of course I love lying down on her blanket. And they have a craft table where I visit a lot of residents. But something really special happened there.

While I visited with the lady with the blanket, the woman in the big recliner next to her watched, and she got really depressed and started crying. “I miss my cat,” she said. My human and I could feel how sad she was. So we went over to visit with her, and spent a long time with her. People wonder how much I really understand about what is going on with these visits. If you saw me respond to this woman, the way I lingered with her and held space with her, I think you would know.

As you know, I have several of these princess dresses that vary mainly in color and slightly in style. But a couple of them have something this one doesn’t.

A matching crown!

They didn’t come with the dresses. It was just a coincidence that my human wound up with these two crowns and they happened to match the dresses.

Well, she found a crown that matches this one! It’s not exact, and unlike the other two, it was part of a hair clip that needed to be removed. But we thought it might work.

What do you think?

Here it is over one ear.

How do you think this crown compares to the other two? I’m curious to know.

What, were you expecting to see the fish hat?

When I was doing a YouTube Livestream over the weekend (you can see the playback here), my human noticed that I had quite a few Halloween dresses. So she decided later that I should model them. Who knew I had so many?

Let’s start at the beginning with this dress. Actually, it’s from before the beginning since my human brought it home in 2009, a full five years before I was here! It was originally for Binga.

This Halloween dress clearly was purchased before my human started measuring me before buying me clothes. Looking at the tag, it says XXS, which means it’s basically for kittens.

Even though nobody wants to get candy corn in their trick or treat bag, everyone seems to love my candy corn dress.

You almost never see this dress on me because it’s not that great. The purple skirt is a little short and floppy, and the back — skeleton hands making a heart sign — don’t really register.

This dress has the opposite problem of that second one — it’s too big! The tag says S, except I’m an usually an XS.

While the other ones are cute and Halloween-y, this one doesn’t really make sense unless you can see the back. It says, “Witches Be Crazy.” I really need to wear a witch hat with this one.

And we’re back to no dresses and just the orange witch hat, which may be my favorite look! Which of these dresses do you like? Are there some you haven’t seen before? Let me know in the comments.

It’s just a coincidence that most of my outtakes this week involve me with me tongue out…but I’m sure you won’t mind.

No tongue here…but you might call it a “pre-tongue” photo.

Because this is the after photo!

When I wasn’t posing nicely for the camera during this session, several photos came out like this one.

And that’s it for the outtakes! If you have a favorite, let me know in the comments.

Between the heat wave that just passed, and the rain that’s coming this weekend, I had exactly one day of pleasant, sunny weather. So of course my human took me outside to enjoy it. We went around to several different spots, since she also wanted to take photos. And no surprise, we wound up on the decorative stone steps by the side of the house.

If you remember, the last time we were here, it was in the morning. But for this session, it was late afternoon, and my human and I traded places, with her above me on the steps.

She positioned me so you could see the bushes behind me.

Then she went in for some closer photos.

I hope you enjoyed them! Let me know what you think.
