</strong></em>(2011)<strong> </strong>is <strong>Britney Spears’s </strong>seventh studio album. Recorded over 2009 to 2011 this time around <strong>Britney </strong>has collaborated with artists such as <strong>will.i.am., Dr Luke </strong>(who is responsible for every catchy <strong>Ke$ha</strong> song) as well as Ms. Ke$ha herself. </p> <p>The <em>dubstep </em>influenced first single <strong>Hold It Against Me ‘</strong>debuted at number one on the Billboard hot 100, making <strong>Spears</strong> the second artist in history to debut multiple songs at the top of the chart, only behind <strong>Mariah Carey, </strong>this single is also her (edit) <em><strong>eighteenth song</strong></em> to <em><strong>debut at number 1</strong></em>.- billboard.com.</p> <p>So as expected there is a lot of hype behind a new Britney release.</p> <p><strong><em>So does Britney’s new mysterious and seductive character help her perform or are we only listening because of her fame.</em></strong></p> <!-- more --> <p>Personally I’m not a Britney fan and I think she lost her talent somewhere between her fourth album <strong>In the Zone </strong>(2003) and <strong>Blackout </strong>(2007), which included such personal affairs as shaving her head. After her four year hiatus it seemed like someone literally slapped all the talent out of her and she has yet to recover. Don’t take my word for it…YouTube “<em>Toxic”</em> (2004) and then do the same for <em>“Gimme More</em>” (2007)… anyone else see her go from talent to talentless?</p> <p>The album starts off by getting you to sing and dance along by leading you in with the two currently released singles <em>“Till The World Ends” </em>and <em>“Hold It Against Me”</em>. These two set the mood for this computer-generated<em>, auto-tuned, </em>dance album which include plenty of heavy base lines. What seems like a infectious start to the album only sends the rest downhill.</p> <p>Starting the downfall is “<em>Inside Out” </em>which is a slow, heavy <em>tempoed track</em> relying heavily on Britney’s vocals which fail to impress. <em>“I Wanna Go” </em>brings the party back which doesn’t take any chances comparable to many 2011 songs. This track is followed by Britney’s back up singer stealing the show in <em>“How I Roll”. </em>Don’t worry when listening to <em>(Drop Dead) Beautiful </em>I also noticed the familiar <em>“Like A G6” </em>backing track (you’d think the producer of BRITNEY SPEARS would find some originality) which is similar to that of a <em>Ke$ha </em>chart topper. These tracks aren’t club bangers but will somehow end up on the DJ’s tracklist.</p> <p><em>“Big Fat Bass” </em>which may-as-well be a B-Side to <em>“The Time (Dirty Bit)” Will.I.Am. </em>produced track will more than likely gather fans amongst the ringtone-music industry. The second <em>dubstep </em>influenced track of the album <em>“Seal It With A Kiss” </em>combined with <em>Hold It Against Me </em>and Britney’s pop influence will more than likely popularize the genre.
