Obviously still learning a lot about digital painting, but I feel like I’m making -some- progress at least.

EDIT:: Looks like when I copied the image over (I work in LARGE format and then scale down), it missed the back of Spaz’s head, so I fixed that, and I reworded the text bubbles a little bit. They read alright, but I repeated a couple of words and had a couple of wonky sentence structures – shows you what I get when I try to write text bubbles at half past midnight, haha.

As stated in this fanmail, I have had precisely 0 artistic ability the past couple of days, and have come up with this solution in the meantime. I would much rather find a way to entertain you guys for a couple minutes than give you crap comics, as I’ve done in the past, so hopefully this’ll fill a gap or two. Feel free to submit any fanmail you guys like, I love hearing from you, and on days I’m unable to get a comic up, maybe I’ll feature it! All identities will be hidden, so don’t worry about that.

Sorry this one’s a little bit late, but I spent much of the day either in class or working on my entrance to my new major! Still playing with digital painting and particularly color theory in regards to lighting, so more reactions and tips would help. Not a whole lot in this one to critique as opposed to the other one, as this one was mostly a study in adding new objects into a pre-existing lighting scheme after the fact. In any case, leave me some feedback, if you don’t mind =)

Sorry it’s been a while since the last comic, but I was VERY busy – I’m changing majors! I’m going from Mechanical Engineering to Digital Arts, where I will eventually go into 2-D animation. Those who know me personally have known this for a little while now, and have seen me scrambling to go to advisory meetings, mapping out my new major, and putting a portfolio together. It’s been a really tough, but incredibly rewarding couple of weeks ^^;

Anywho, here’s the new comic for Tuesday, and as you can see it’s done very differently than the others – one of the things I’ve been working on recently is teaching myself to digitally paint, which has been hard because I’ve never painted in real life. It’s coming along, though, slowly but surely. Any reviews/critiques/suggestions on how this looks and how you guys like the painting would help tremendously, if you don’t mind =).

Well, time to get back to my homework and portfolio craziness, I’ll see you guys on Thursday.

Not much to report this week, just enjoying my spring break, as I hope all of you (or those of you who get one) are. I’m still working 40 hours for this week, but without the second job and classes, it’s been very relaxing for me!

Any feedback on this one would be great, feel free to use any venue you please – trying some new coloring and shading techniques – are they noticeable? good? bad? Not good but heading in the right direction? Let me know if you don’t mind.

This concludes Chapter 1, new chapter cover will be posted Saturday. Reviews on Chapter 1 would also be helpful as they’ll help me map out Chapter 2. And yes, “Get better at updating” and “update more often” are valid feedback – just because I’ve heard them before doesn’t mean that hearing them more often won’t help me get things done =). REALLY late on this update, but hey, it’s here =P. Been getting my butt kicked recently, so getting back to work has been a real problem, but I am getting on it.

Right now this is posted with just the flat colors (no shading or anything), and I will fix this soon, but with this particular comic I’ve dealt with two corrupt files, a total of 18 hours of lost work, and several headaches, so right this moment I’m sick of looking at it, so I’m gonna get tomorrow’s done and fix this after I’ve had a few hours to cool down.
