There is no point in questioning you as to your decision to purchase one for your own. Like many other individuals who are so hooked into boating, you also prefer to have one for yourself. What choices do you have so far? Read on and understand more about your prospect venture.

The Available Variants

Clearly speaking, there are a myriad of boat manufacturers in the market. They do present a lot of choices to the buying public. Try going into a boat store and there you will find an array of products from where you can take your pick. Of them all surfaces the name Cigarette. The term refers to one of the most popular boat creators. It is actually a brand name which has gone generic just like the typical Band-Aid or Colgate. Other names that make it on top of the list include Formula, Donzi, Cobra, Mares, Fountain, and many more.

If your concern is the price, you can expect it to be costly. By estimate, a modest and new design starts at about $150,000. This is expectedly about to go higher as the features get more distinct. In fact, some boats can hit the price of up to $2 million. Indeed, these figures only show that a few people get the chance to afford a brand new one. When you have limited funds, you can limit your choice and get down to selecting from among the used boats. Their prices are of course more reasonable.

Getting Your Certification

Possessing a boat also requires you to obtain a certification that proves you are the owner. There is the need for you to register it and obtain a license for its operation. Nevertheless, the law that governs every state varies so you must familiarize yourself with the one which covers your place of residence. Also, if you plan to take your boat on a trip outside of your locale, then, be very particular to inquire about the law that exists in your place of destination. It matters that you secure the pertinent permits whenever necessary.

Likewise, it matters that you get educated about how to run your vessel. Trainings and certifications are very significant. This holds really vital especially when you have thought about joining certain events. You see, everything doesn't end upon settling the payment for the boat!

How to Care for it

An individual who is fond of doing water sports and other related activities is prompted to procure a boat. The question is—do you know how to take good care of it?

Here are the vital ways to do it.

Flush the engine every time that it has been used and exposed to salt water. Take note that it is corrosive so you must prevent rust build up. Wash the portion underneath.

If possible, clean the body of the boat, scour its deck, wax some parts, and always dry anything that has been made wet.

Check all parts and equipment. Never venture out into the sea without running a thorough check up on everything.

Replace the defective accessories and parts as early as possible.

Use a cover when it is not being used.

Overall, concerting your effort to maintain your speed boat will cost you lesser. Furthermore, it will save you from future headaches!

Staying Safe while on a Speed Boat

Speed boats are sports car on water. They are designed to go fast. But just like driving a fast car on the road, you have to maintain a good level of safety for you and the passengers on board.

1. Before setting out to the open water, check the boat and be sure that it is proper working order. Fix any mechanical problem that needs to be fixed. Check and test if the radio is working. This way, if something happens to you while in the middle of the sea, you can radio the Coast Guard for help. Fuel up. The last thing you want is to hand your fate on the mercy of the water current.

2. Waves and alcohol don't mix. Drinking and boating is as dangerous as drinking and driving. Alcohol impairs your vision, judgment and proper senses. It reduces your time to react on certain emergencies. And if you are caught driving intoxicated, you will get a fine. If you own the boat, set a rule that no alcohol gets on board the boat and no one gets on the boat intoxicated.

3. It is quite unfortunate the many people don't know how to swim. But this should not be the reason to prevent a friend or a relative from boarding the boat. Make sure that the persons who do not know how to swim wear a lifejacket once they get onboard.

4. Speaking of lifejacket, do not leave the port without ensuring that the number of your lifejacket is equal or more than the number of persons onboard. It is also a good practice to outfit each person on board with lifejacket whether they can swim or not. Make sure that your lifejackets are not outdated and not dry-rotted.

5. Never leave without a fire extinguisher. Not because you are surrounded with water, it doesn't mean that your boat with not catch fire. This is quite ironic but the fact is, fire can spread pretty quickly on your boat.

6. Take a boating safety course. In most areas, this is offered for free and can be finished within a day or two. It is a good idea to enroll yourself together with your entire family. Training programs are usually free and available in the city. But if you can't find one, try looking online.

7. Yes, speed boats are designed to go fast but it doesn't mean that you go crazy on speed and go full throttle all the time. Keep your sensibility in tact and always keep your speed in check. Make sure that you are running on a speed where you can still make split second decision. Slow down when you are passing through other boats. Take note that other boaters may not be able to see you in blinding sun and dark night. Keep within the water speed limit. All the rules in waterway should be followed. A good driver knows how fast is too fast and knows how the need to slow down.

8. Get a speed boat insurance. Assess your needs and get the right policy and coverage.

9. Keep your boat properly maintained. Routinely check for cracks, leaks and damages. Check the engine and make sure that it is in good running condition. Just like your car, your boat should have its own maintenance record.

Speed Boats—Your Options and Safety Precautions

Your going to the beach is the perfect time to enjoy the sun and the water. The luxurious boats on the other hand contain cabins and are ideal for overnight getaway, longer trips, and even the holding of parties onboard.

Boating has been popular since time immemorial. Likewise, there have been numerous recorded and unrecorded fateful incidents involving the use of boats. You never know what will happen as you course the waters. Therefore, it is always best to take note of these precautionary measures when you are speed boating and pulling some riders. Don't forget to wear a personal floatation device or PDA.

Know the equipment that you are using. This involves familiarizing yourself with how it works and its limitations.

History tells us that numerous boats have launched their maiden voyages to provide a better means of transportation to all and sundry. Nevertheless, in the passing of time these carriers have changed a lot. Talk about evolution! From the conventional sailboats which never failed to captivate the travelers in the past years, speed boats have arrived. Their arrival has therefore signaled another momentary event especially to the water sports enthusiasts.

Summer Ride and Fun

Every year, the summer season is the most awaited time of many folks. It is the best opportunity to display the colorful swimwear and sexy bodies. Much more, this period proves to be one which entices those who have a passion for boating. Regardless of race, sex, age, and socio-economic status, several individuals deem boats as functional for all reasons. There are those who make use of these sea carriers for personal reasons while some make money out of the boat rental business. Whichever is the case; these fast speeding boats always form part of the hot trends on a yearly basis.

There are boating enthusiasts who feel the need to purchase their own vessels. Indeed, they can take their loved ones and friends out on a trip whenever they want to. Given the fact that summer is a wonderful opportunity to bask under the sun and enjoy the water, buying the fast going boats is done with more fervor. Many go on island hopping adventures while some are content with short trips.

Stress-free Operation

For families and group of friends who don't have much time to spend for their holiday breaks, time constraint is the number one hindrance. However, owning or renting these fast boats proves to wash the worries away. Those who are involved in the boat rental business make available the crew that will operate the vessel. What the passengers are most likely to do is to simply relax and enjoy the ride. Cabins provide a luxurious accommodation so basically everything is stress-free.

In the case that you are the owner of the boat and you feel like going on a trip, then certainly you have all the time in the world. There is no need to concert your effort in terms of bookings. Run it by yourself or let your crew do it. The point is you can enjoy and set aside the worries that you have concerning the daily hustles and bustles of life.

Water Sports at their Best

Whether what you want is to go fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, swimming, or water skiing, this boat is just all set to drive you. After all, it is not solely confined to be taken into the sea. If you wish to be on a lake as your vacation spot, then without a doubt you will find yourself enjoying.

Water skiers are confidently pulled by the boat. If the driver is reliable enough, then you have no reason to be worried. In the middle of the lake or the ocean, you can have fun getting a tan or simply doing your own stuff. The boat is safe to be maneuvered to any destination of your choice.

Again, speed boats are simply what they are. They are the vessels that stay into the game especially during the summer months!

Speed Boats: Getting the Best Deal

Landing on the best speed boat deal relies on 2 factors: the location and the time of buying.

There are two places where you can buy speed boats: boat show and dealer. Conventional wisdom tells us that best deals and rock-bottom prices are available on boat shows since dealers are competing against each other to get your attention and make a sale. While there is some true to it, this wisdom sometimes does not hold water. In some cases, the price of speed boats is slightly higher on boat shows since dealers have to pay thousands of dollars to rent a space to show their boats.

This does not include cost of hauling their boats to and from the show area. You may not even see any difference on the sticker price but the added cost is reflected on other charges. The reason is that, dealers have to recoup the show cost by passing it to the costumers. Take note though that this is not always the case as most dealers have funding for this activity. It is possible therefore that you can get the same price on boat shows as you will get on dealerships.

Meanwhile, it is also possible to get a much lower price especially on the last day of the boat show. This is because dealers are anxious to make a sale so they more than willing to slash on prices. Also, this will also be the best time to make a sale since many bargain hunters choose to buy on the last day of the show.

Conversely, experts believe that best prices are found on dealerships. Again, truth on this claim doesn't always hold water. The idea is that, you are likely to buy a boat if you visit a boat dealership so dealers (while they are fully concerned on closing a sale before you walk out their doors) are more reluctant to give you further price cuts aside from the standard discounts and add-ons they offer, unless you ask. But since the dealers do not have to pay extra to introduce their boats to you, the price of the boat after taxes and other charges can be lower than what you can get on boat shows.

It is important therefore to do your research and compare different prices on different location. A good tip, most experts suggest, is to go to boat shows, check the prices, learn everything you need to know and visit the dealership later. This way, you can avoid the recoup prices (if there is any) and can ask for special discounts that the dealers offer at the show.

Right timing is equally important when buying speed boat. The best time to buy is always during the off-season, that is, during winter from January to March. However this is only applicable to those who live in colder climates. For those who live on areas with no winter like California, Florida and the Gulf Coast, there is no off-season but dealers are always trying to sell their last year's model at a cheaper price before the peak season (summer) begins.

The key to getting the best deal is to use these factors to your advantage. For example, buy a speed boat at winder boat show or just before the latest boats arrive and try to squeeze from your dealer every amount they can afford to lose.

Speed Boats – Choosing the Best Speed Boat

Just about the time when cars were being made, motorized boats were also being born. Today the motorized boat has evolved into what many people dream of having but choices are so varied, price range wide and functions differ. It will really take an informed decision before investing in one.

The first important question to ask the self is how should the speed boat be used and in what kind of conditions. Because no two speedboats are alike, decisions really are started in knowing what and how the purchase is expected to perform. Speed boats are expensive investments in relation to the number of hours it would be used in a year and so a critical evaluation of requirements must be done first.

There are just a few speed boat manufactures with their boats zipping through the water. Owning a boat is a very personal issue and so finding one that will suit the personality of the boat owner will always rest on individual preferences. When buying a boat, the best thing to do is to go through as many manufacturers as possible before even buying one.

Going to dealerships both on site and online is an excellent idea to gather as much information as possible regarding latest developments, comparative performances, technologies applied and pricing. Manufacturers are also good sources for comparative analysis and study. Expect however for claims that the current manufacturer you are talking with are the best in the market. Most of them are depending on the niche that they are serving but the one that suits your needs may be a few more steps farther out.

Whether you want to just cruise, fish, dive or beat yourself senseless with high performance sailing with enough technology and engine power to rough you up, the popular choices that you might also want looking into are:

Baja – If you prefer boats equipped with plenty of the latest state of the art technology, you might want to look at Baja made boats. Baja boats are not only equipped with advanced technology, they also come with great and luxurious amenities.

Donzi – a very popular boat maker, Donzi boats will amaze you with their boats refinement and price. Many boat owners just trust the name and would not settle for less. It will be a good idea for first time boat buyers to include Donzi on the list and make comparison with other offers.

Cigarette Racing – is actually a brand name that offers the fastest speed boats in the market. The boats are truly the "peak" when it comes to sporting events and competitions. Cigarette racing are the choice of those who want to really race yet these boats are also fun with wake boarding and skiing. The price though is a little on the up side. But if you want a speed boat to live by its name, cigarette racing it is.

There are a number other great boats out in the market , each built for more or less a specific purpose with brand names that are just as well respected. Boats that you should consider buying should inspire you to spend your time more on water. If the boat just doesn't inspire you, it probably won't. Move on to the next. The one that makes your heart race may very well be it.

Speed Boats – Choices of Hulls

Unlike buying a car, buying the first speed boat could be a little more daunting. Because speed boats are premium toys, the price differences are just so wide that starts mostly with being expensive. Amenities and luxuries are so attractive that the need for skimping could very well take a back seat. Narrowing the choices down may help.

At the mention of speed boats, the picture that immediately come to mind are the sleek contoured boats that are often used for fast water cruising. Speed boats today though encompass a wider array of choices as many boats including inflatable boats fitted with powerful outboard motors is also a speed boat.

To arrive at the best speed boat that will be tapered more to the need of the buyer, one of the more frequent considerations is the type of water that the boat will be used for and the activity that the boat will be generally subjected to. For someone who is intending to utilize the speed boat for all-around use, any speed boat will do. Another consideration is the frequency of usage and the number of people who would usually use the boat. But the thing that should be given particular attention is what is on the bottom of the speed boat as this oftentimes set the boundaries of the boat's capacity in terms of speed. There are several varieties that a buyer should note for, including the following:

Flat Bottom- Because of the flat-bottom hull design, this boat provides stability on calm weather and on waters where there is shallow draft. Flat-bottom boats are usually not found in the speed boat category because in the first place, these boats have flat bows which make it hard to steer. These can't also handle speed well. Flat-bottom boats, however, are best suited for fishing and other activities that require lesser speed.

Pontoon – Pontoon, otherwise known as deck boat, is basically a combination of several boat hulls. In terms of stability, pontoon boats are sufficiently stable. When it comes to maneuvering, anecdotes of buyers would tell that this type is very easy to maneuver especially with an outboard motor. However, they often ride dry.

V-Bottom Boats— Possibly the most commonly found type, the V-bottom is somewhat the catch-all for boat features. It lies between speed boats and ordinary fishing boats thus providing both speed (which is not sufficient enough to beat race boats) and stability (which is enough to provide a stable ride on rough waters). This design is very versatile and it is not uncommon to find speed boats that have hulls which are variations of the V-bottom design.

Cathedral Hull or Tri-Hull – There are many variations to this type of hull but typically, tri-hull or cathedral hull can be differentiated by its V-shaped bottom with additional hulls by the sides. When it comes to stability, this type is more stable than the more conventional V-bottoms but it also gives less smooth ride especially on rough waters due to the increased bow surface.

Tunnel hull or hydroplanes – As its second name would suggest, this type of boat is possibly the best type when it comes to providing speed. In fact, it is the hull type that is often found used in race boats. It could handle very high speeds well with constant stability.

The special design of this hull is made entirely to trap the air underneath the hull for increased drag.

Speed Boats: Boat Show Buying Guide

Boat shows are a great venue to see, learn and shop for that dream speed boat. Use these tips to get the most out of your boat shows and help you make an educated decision when buying:

Prepare before going to a boat show
While boat shows are a great venue to widen your knowledge about boats, it is not advisable to go there without knowing anything beforehand. Learn as much information about the boats as you can at home so that when you talk to different dealers at boat shows, you understand the terminologies, know the relevant questions to ask and not take much time from every vendor you can find. Dealers are more than happy to talk to you and explain why should you buy their boats but bombarding them with ignorant questions may be stressful to both of you.

Attend as much boat shows as you can
Experts do not advice that you buy from boat show on your first visit. They agree that you should visit as much boat shows as possible to extend your knowledge about speed boats, which will become useful when it is time to buy a boat. Boat shows are held nationwide. The best time to see the latest models is during the peak season or just before the boating season begins, usually before summer. But if you want to get the best deals, you must visit different boat shows that are held during winter season or those held from January to March. Here, dealers are willing to cut their prices to dispose their last year's model.

Use boat shows to your advantage
The best thing about boat shows is that you are able to see and learn from different manufacturers under one roof (unlike visiting individual boat dealerships which can sometimes become time consuming and very expensive). Take as much time as you can by visiting different dealers.

Make comparisons not only on the price and features but also on how each dealer representative treats you. Bring a pen and a notebook and take note of your impressions, your likes and dislikes, and your favorite boats and dealers. You can also bring a camera and take pictures of the different boats for quick reference.

Use boat shows to buy from a dealer
Many dealers enter boat shows not so much to make a sale but to gather contacts of potential buyers and persuade them to visit their dealerships. This is because dealers understand the importance of building relationships with costumers, which can be done better at their offices. So when visiting a boat show, do not hesitate to talk to a dealer even if you are not ready to buy. This is a place where you can evaluate your financial positions and determine which dealer is willing to work for your and your needs.

Do not let your impulse rule
Buying a speed boat is a serious financial investment so unless you do enough homework, do not buy one out of impulse. Beginners who can afford to buy right on the site fall prey to their impulse-buying instincts, elegance of the boat and marketing prowess of the dealer's sales representative.

Instead, try to go during the first days of the show where and learn as much information about the boats as you can. Return or choose to buy elsewhere only if you think you can buy a boat out of reason.

Speed Boat – Maintenance

No two speed boats are alike. Speed boats are only as good as their owners and the care that is given to them.

Speed boats are major investments that for a speed boat to be stranded by a breakdown at the moment when you need it most will not only be frustrating, it could also be dangerous. With other machines like cars, all you basically have to do is see to it that the fluids are replenished or replaced and the wear and tear caused by daily driving is checked and replaced when needed. Speed boats need more than that. To have a smooth running speed boat and to get more years and more value from your investment the following are to be observed.

Annual Maintenance
Have the bottom repainted and change the zincs. If your speed boat has a fiberglass bottom, have it cleaned, have the bottoms painted and debris and barnacles removed. Drive oil and fluids should also be changed. Aside from insuring that engine life is prolonged, the annual maintenance check up will keep your speed boat in very good shape.

Engine

The best time to perform the speed boats annual check up is in conjunction during winter while the boats engine is being winterized. It is very important to winterize the engine when the boat is exposed to damp and cold weather. In winterizing the engine, flush it first with water, then use soapy water to wash it through. After rinsing, all fuel from the hoses and carburetors are to be drained to prevent the build up deposits of evaporated fuel. The engine can then be lubricated once it is clean and dry applying grease to all the moving parts. Lastly, you can apply a high quality wax to polish the outside of the engine.

Preventing Clogging

Before winter, fill your speed boats fuel tank to full and add a stabilizer so that deposits and condensation does not happen.

The engine of the speed boat is not only the part that requires good annual maintenance. The water separator and the fuel filter will also need to be replaced every winter to prevent clogs.

After this, bilges are to be cleaned with stiff brush and hot water. It is also a good idea to spray it with lubricant and anti freeze. Cleaning the boat inside and out will make the boat looking pristine.

The Boats Manual

While the basics of speed boat maintenance may be the same, the maintenance requirement of different speed boats will slightly differ. Consulting the manual or a good marine mechanic may be a better method than starting the maintenance alone especially if this will be done for the first time. Like most speed boat owners, a time comes when doing it yourself is a good way to go. When the speed boat owner already feels comfortable at doing the job himself, maintenance and marine supplies are easily available online.

Doing a good and regular maintenance on a boat and spending a few hundreds to spend for its upkeep will create that much difference on the manner in which the boat will perform. In the long run, a good amount of money will be saved by looking after the boats maintenance as scheduled.

Not only will it keep it safe, it will also make a big difference for the boats longevity.

Speed Boat Insurance—Steps to Bag the Best Deals

Do you have a speed boat under your name? Are you sure your investment is protected?
An Amazing Ride

Yes, the boat is truly one source of thrill. You can feel as if you are the king of the world as you ride the boat with the wind blowing against your skin. As fast as it may go, this vessel is just what you need to announce your arrival and execute a show off. This always allows you to clearly display your talent in any type of water sport. Overall, it is fast, fun, exciting, and a precious toy which you can parade for all eyes to see. However, the truth remains the same—it still suggests and spells danger. Putting anyone's life on the edge is always never a priority.

Prevention vs. Cure

There is no need to worry though. You can get yourself protected by means of obtaining a boat insurance policy. Since it is one good deal of a speeding machine right there on the water, there are dangers that lie ahead. From time to time, the news includes accounts of the sea mishaps which have turned into a very tragic occurrence.

Without a doubt, experts and many of the concerned boat owners will drive you towards availing the insurance. From the beginning until the end, you must make it a point to keep your vessel fully intact and your life as well as your riders' safe and sound. You never know what may happen as you venture into the sea. Like the weather that comes very unpredictable, the mishaps can also knock on your door unexpectedly. As they say, prevention is always better than cure. You have to believe it. An insurance policy is what you need.

Getting the Best Deal

So you have been convinced to secure the insurance. The next concern is that of working out on bagging the best deals ever. It is not difficult to accomplish, mind you. Take a look at the following steps.

First, be wise in making a purchase. The catch is that the more reasonable your boat looks like, the better insurance you will get. As for the basics, you should pick one that is as safe as it can be. As much as possible, stay away from vessels that come equipped with gigantic engines, unimaginable speed, and intense power. Insurance companies award better benefits to those which are on the safe side. Meaning, it is a boat that showcases normal speed quality and acceptable features.

Take note of its value. Of course, the more expensive your vessel is, the higher quotes will be supplied to you. Companies feel too nervous to insure a boat which is the apple of the eyes of the thieves. Be sure to buy a boat that has a reasonable value so that you will have to pay for less.
Be safe as always. Boats which are certified to be safe have higher chances of being provided with the most affordable quotes.

Avail of discounts. If you have a certain insurance provider for your car or home, then might as well check with them. Typically, discounts are granted if you have other accounts with a certain firm.

You don't want to put your life and your property at risk, right? Then, better ponder on the importance of a speed boat insurance coverage.

Speed Boat Insurance—Learning its Significance

Boats have been made known to human civilization since time immemorial. Even the Bible cites a boat in the term of "Noah's Ark". Deemed to be crafted as a water vessel, boats of the modern times have also evolved. Indeed, they are used as one of the means of transportation that carry people from one destination towards another.

Thereby, one of the products of modern civilization is the high powered boat. Yes, there you have it. You decide to buy your sea vessel. Use it for whatever particular purpose you have in mind whether for personal or business reasons. The thing is, it is also significant that you secure the speed boat insurance.

The Danger of Leaving Out its Importance

Many boat enthusiasts out there seem to forget the essence of the insurance of their vessel. Those who have fallen in love with the fast lane, boat race, water ski, and the likes appear to ignore the possible untoward incidents that may occur at any given time. Alright, it is a given fact that boating is a fun filled and thrilling activity but so much is its opposite whenever accidents take place. There is indeed no safe place on Earth.

If it is your time, you can never miss it out whether you are traveling by land, by air, or by water. How many lives have been wasted because of the sea mishaps? How many of these accidents have been recorded and how many are not? It only proves that you are not an exception to the perils that may come around. Therefore, be wise. Get the insurance policy which is also for your own protection.

Since you so love the water, the sun, and the tons of excitement, it is best for you to think about the safety of your investment and your own level of security as well. If you are left unprotected with an insurance policy, then there is a greater chance of you facing too much troubles, frustrations, and expenses in the near future. Don't you know that sailing, water skiing, and many others are safer and much more exciting if you are aware that there is a particular insurance coverage that is certain to protect you?

Where to Get it

There are practically two means to obtain the insurance policy for your boat. One is by dealing with an insurance company agent and that includes doing a meet up in a physical office. The other is by surfing the Internet. As you are so much familiar with, the World Wide Web is a prolific host to millions of information. Many boat insurance firms have secured their own online portals.

With the advent of the Internet technology, applying for such has become too easy and fast. By going online you will find tips, advice, and relevant information concerning the most affordable and feature filled types of policies that will best protect your interest.

Time and again, it is best to follow the expert's advice to shop around for the best quotes. List down at least five prospect companies, compare them, trim down the list, and finally choose one. You should always look into the price and the specifications of the coverage.
First and foremost, one's decision to buy such sea vessel is coupled with a purpose. If an individual loves to go fishing, then what must be purchased is a fishing boat. On the other hand, if the person is more outgoing, adventurous, and hooked into water sports such as skiing, and the likes, a speed boat is more appropriate. The same thing holds true for those who love going on trips during the weekend or during the holiday season for some vacation or island tours.

Also, partying into the sea is made possible by taking hold of the yachts. Known for its great speed and power, the boat is liked by many. However, everyone is also aware of the dangers that lurk under the water. The current may be too strong or the weather can turn into a monster. The main point is that accidents happen whenever they are least expected. In this case, you should become a responsible boat owner.

A Dose of Protection

You may ask about how you can become a responsible vessel owner. It is as simple as securing an insurance policy that will protect your investment and your life as well. The boat insurance is deemed to be very essential and practical. When sea mishaps happen and you are unprotected, you will surely face tons of debts along with a considerable amount of dilemma. The very main purpose that you have as you purchase the boat is that of bringing fun to yourself as well as to your loved ones. You mean no harm, so to speak. Thus, don't have second thoughts anymore. The insurance coverage is necessary and you must get it for yourself.

Seeking for it

Once you get the boat insurance, you somehow shield yourself against any type of risk that may endanger your life or your property. Just imagine how you would feel in case your boat gets involved into a sea tragedy. Where will you get the money to cover for the expenses? How much more if there are passengers on board? How will you face life once it happens to you? Sure enough, you will go berserk!

As you buy the boat, you must understand the risks that you will have to face. There are rules and regulations as well as risks to take. By and large, it will be a lot of help to confer with an insurance consultant who specializes in boats.

Then again, you can always work on your own. There are free tips and information available online regarding the wise means of choosing the boat insurance policy. All it takes is to do your own homework. Do some research works, join forums, keep in touch with consultants, and find the quotes. After which, you may start trimming down your choices and comparing prices until you arrive at a final decision.

Take note that you must get to learn the basics that cover the boat insurance. For a more personal attack, you can ask for the opinion of other boat owners. They can certainly refer you to their own insurance providers. With this at hand, ensure that you select nothing but an honest and reputable company.

Finally, the speed boat insurance can save you half the worries. There is a wealth of relevant information from the net. Most argue that since you can afford to buy a speed boat, you care less for fuel cost. As an owner, this is not always the case. Here's how you can save on fuel with your speed boat:

Fuel saving begins in choosing the right boat. Forgive me if this sounds like a remedial but this is important and if you can bear with me here, you'll see my point. When buying a speed boat, you have to consider the length of the boat and the type of engine it uses. Obviously, length means higher fuel consumption because it is heavier and creates more air and water drag depending on the brand and the design. It is important, therefore, that you do your research on different types of speed boat. There are not much of them in the market; this should not be so difficult.

Common conception is, larger engine equals higher fuel consumption. While there is some true to it, what really decides the amount of fuel it consumes is the weight if the load. The rule of thumb is, size your boat properly based on the amount of load and the type of activity that you plan do 75% of the time. Never buy a small one if you are going to board 10 people on it. A smaller boat with smaller engine is designed for a certain number of people. Overloading the boat forces the engine to work harder and thus, consuming more fuel. Also, decide if you want a gasoline or diesel engine boats.

Doing the required maintenance not only prolongs the life of your boat, it also keeps the fuel consumption at the right level. Skipping maintenance cycle also reduces the resale value of your boat and may leave you looking at the water from the bay instead of on the water enjoying a good summer day.

Don't bring unnecessary things. These add up to the weight and increase fuel consumption. Just bring what you need and remove all those things that you have not moved for years.

Remove things that can cause air drag and increase water resistance. Convertible tops with sides on as well as hard water deposits and algae decrease fuel economy. Buy as little canvas as possible (without compromising comfort) and remove objects from the hull – objects that should not be there.

Most manufacturers put standard propellers that are suited for normal operating conditions. Upgrading your propeller to high performance one made from aluminum or stainless steel can improve the performance of your boat and save considerable fuel. When changing propeller though, ask for professional advice on what's right for your boat.

Saving money on boat is just half the battle. The other half or the first half begins at the garage. Before leaving, make sure that your trailer is properly inflated. Under-inflated trailer tires as well as tires of your vehicle can increase fuel consumption substantially. Maintain the maximum recommended tire pressure both for your trailer and vehicle tires for optimum fuel mileage.

The point here is not to prevent you from enjoying water activities but to give you the right information on how to use your boat that will help you earn extra dollars in your pocket.

Speed Boat Care Guide

Do you dream of buying your own speed boat? Then take note of this maintenance guide!

Some Pros and Cons

Needless to say, boating has become a recreational activity for many people especially those who love the sun and the water. There are several water sports with which plenty of folks are hooked into. With the boats, water skiing has popularized and as it goes, there is a rider being pulled by the vessel. People from all walks of life derive enjoyment from this that they consider it as one of their pastimes. So if you are also one of them, then a fast going boat is all that you want to purchase.

It can't be denied that there are simply people who consider boats as their precious toys. Even more, there are some who make some dramatic entrance since possessing these vessels spell a kind of a loud display. This therefore marks as a very appealing thing for the smugglers and thieves since boats are not easily detected via the use of radar. Yet on the other hand, having one for your own also promises you of a rewarding investment return. Yes, you can have it leased to those people who are fond of splurging into some trips and parties! Just imagine how useful it can get, so to speak.

Determining its Use

What prompts you to buy a fast going boat? For what purpose are you reserving it? Will you be designating it for your own personal use? Will you be venturing into some form of business? Perhaps you like to engage into weekend getaways, do water skiing, or island hopping. Or, it may be that you want to earn by means of letting other individuals rent your boat. This is the initial consideration that you must think about before you shell out money to pay for your purchase.

Either way, you might want to buy something that features a cabin, a cockpit, and a gallery. These areas provide a more organized accommodation space. Also, depending on your intended use, you must also consider the speed that it can execute.

Its Care and Maintenance

Prevention is always better than cure as they say. Hence, just like any other gadget or possession that you own, it is necessary for you to apply a good dose of maintenance to your boat. Following a weekly routine, you must do the following actions to your vessel.

Washing. Yes, it may be usually wet concerning the type of terrain that it hits but you must know that dust and birds also cause the mess. They need to be cleaned out before something alarming happens to your boat.

Drying. To keep rust or other stains from developing, it is important that you keep your boat dry after it has been washed.

Mooring. Always take time to inspect the fenders, the lines, and the knots. See if they need any repair or replacement.

Hull fitting. Ensure that there are no leaks and that the hulls perfectly fit.

Oil level maintenance. Despite the long hours of the engine's capacity, you should regularly check the oil level.

Engine checking. Let it warm up from time to time especially during the season that it is not often taken out. Verify if the accessories, electronics, and lights are all functioning accordingly.

Speed boats are expensive. Therefore, you should exercise the proper care and maintenance to lengthen its life.

Luxury Speed Boat—Is it for You?

If you are a water person, then most probably you have always envied the luxury speed boats that pass by. And the price of a speed boat is something you should greatly consider. For well-off individual, this may not be a problem. But not everyone is so lucky or blessed. Price is perhaps the main issue of most people who want to buy a speed boat. The cost of one unit can spin the head of someone wishing to have a boat. And since speed boats are often compared with sports car because of its price (and performance), you have to carefully assess if owning a boat is really for you.

Can you afford it?
The price of the actual boat is one thing, the expenses that will follow thereafter is another. After buying a boat, individuals will still have to worry about the other cost of ownership including fuel, insurance, repairs, transportation, taxes and maintenance. While you can say that you can pay the price of the boat, take note that the big chunk of expenses happens during the time of ownership.

Are you anywhere near water?
There is nothing wrong with buying a boat as long as you have a place to use it. It doesn't make sense, though, to have a boat if you still need to drive 100 miles just to get to the nearest waters. And it doesn't make any sense if the cost of transporting your boat to the waters is higher than the actual boat itself. Unless you live near on in the coast line areas or lakes, owning a boat is not a good idea.

Do you have time for boating?
Speed boat ownership is not only a financial investment, but an investment of your time as well. While it is good to have a leisure activity once in a while, you still have to evaluate if the time you can spend with your boat is really worth its price. If you think you cannot give enough time for boating that is worthy for the price you pay, then consider speed boat charter instead. You may not be a proud owner of speed boat but you still get the same satisfaction without breaking your bank purchasing a boat, its maintenance and towing cost. Plus, you don't have to worry about depreciation, insurance, storage and security.

Can you swim?
While this is the least thing you have to be concerned of since lifejackets can be at your disposal anytime, it is still worth mentioning. In boat ownership, you have to at least know how to swim as well as how to conduct basic safety and emergency procedures. This way, if something wrong happens while you, your family or your friends are onboard, there is a greater chance that you will all survive.

Do you know how to take care of it?
Like owning a car, it is essential to have at least the necessary boat maintenance skill so that when your boat breaks down in the middle of the water and help is not available, you are capable of fixing it instead of swimming to the shore just to get home. The confidence that you can fix your boat whenever the need arises is like knowing how to swim regardless of the presence of a lifejacket.

Also, knowing how to take care of your boat will extend its life and keep the resale value high.

How to Maintain a Speed Boat

Traveling on water has been made more secure because of the advancement in transportation and their series of integrated equipment. Likewise, the modern technology has endowed more features to the boat as a watercraft. Apart from containing seats and cabins for the passengers, the speed has also been improved. This holds true for the speed boat. Sure enough, you do know the importance of fuel to ensure that the boat will run smoothly. The same knowledge must be acquired regarding the importance of its maintenance.

The Essence of Boat Maintenance

With the proper maintenance of your boat, you are assured of a premium level running condition. If you do the opposite, then you have a better chance of facing the ordeal concerning breakdowns. You must take note that the regular care for your investment will give you lower costs for the repairs. Yet if you are fond of ignoring even the most minimal problems then better prepare your finances for a more serious expense. You can rarely buy this type of investment for a song so it is only right that you seriously ponder on the right measures in line with its maintenance. You have no reason to worry since a manual often comes along with the purchase of a yacht.

One more thing, the maintenance tasks involved in every boat varies. This is for the prime reason that boats are different. They have varying makeup, different components, and equipment. Thus, you need to employ a diverse technique to ensure that your boat remains in a top shape.

Doing the Yearly Maintenance

Just like any other means of transportation such as bus, cars, motorbike, and the likes, boats also need to be checked annually. The yearly checkup includes the changing of the oil, the lower end fluid, the filters, and the drive oil as well. You see, this kind of vessel spends much time in the seawater. The latter is obviously filled with salt content which may affect the bottom portion and paint of the vessel. The continual maintenance therefore enhances the pristine look of the boat and removes the debris that forms underneath.

Winterizing the Engine

Experts advice the boat owners and users that the perfect time to conduct the yearly maintenance is when it is getting winterized. Winterizing the boat is very significant most especially when it is designated to be exposed to any damp or cold weather. Here are the steps that you should follow in doing this.

Firstly, you must flush the engine using water. As soon as it gets drained, it can already be washed using the soapy water. Rinse it afterwards. Next, you should drain the fuel from those of the hoses and carburetor. This must be done so that there will be no evaporated fuel to form.

Then, when you are done with the cleaning and drying of the engine, it is time for you to grease the pistons and cylinder walls. Afterwards, put the water resistant oil into all of the moving parts. For the finishing touches, you should polish the outer portion of the engine using a fine quality wax.

Take note that the speed boat maintenance measures are relevant in keeping your vessel safe and functional at all times. During a change in the season, you should carefully watch out for the necessary steps to take.

How to Become a Better Speed Boat Driver

Generosity is contagious. This is a saying that sometimes loses its meaning on everyday encounter with different people but somehow finds its essence on waters. If you have done some hours boating out in the sea, you know what I mean. If you are new to boating, you will be surprised how boaters treat other boaters as compared to drivers on freeway or even around your neighborhood.

Boaters are more polite, giving, courteous and even helpful to other boaters. Proper etiquette is always practiced. And even if many boaters did not take any boating safety course, they are aware of the things to do and the ways to act on every situation.

Common sense – the unwritten rule on boating and a must have if you want to survive on waters. Should there be a question of right-of-way, common sense will always tell you to give it to the other guy regardless of who is privileged and who is burdened. In boating, everyone seems to know this and for some good reasons, everyone seems to consciously employ common sense and give way to others.

I can relate this to a story I have heard not so long ago. Two guys were casually boating holding their way at 4 miles per hour. A large cruiser was coming behind them. Logically, the large cruiser, since it was the burdened, had to yield while the casual boaters can hold their line because they were privileged. However, common sense prevailed to the privileged ones, realizing that they can get into trouble and yielded for the large boat.

This is not an isolated incident. Most boaters are more inclined on using their common sense than enforcing the principle of who is the privileged and who is the burdened. And this is something you always want to bring when going out on the waters. This is not the rule but it is always advisable to give way and let the other guys pass, regardless of who has the right-of-way.

Every time I set to the waters, I always observe this type of behavior is a collective manner. Everyone seems to give way to others – not because they know the rules but more because they tend to treat boaters as neighbors on the same water. Moreover, there is always that help-your neighbor policy that rules everyone. Actually, this is a legal rule but boaters who are unaware that this is a rule tend to apply it every time or at least when they are on the waters.

This makes sense because if you require assistance, you need someone to stop and render you some help. But boaters do this not because they treat others as a means (helping others just because they expect others to help them) but as an ends (simply helping because it is the right thing to do).

To be honest, seeing boaters helping another boater to tow his boat to the shore or fix a boat, sometimes for several hours, can drive me crazy in a good way. If I anchored several hundred yards away from the main pack, it will only be just a matter of time when someone will approach me to ask if everything is okay or yell from the distance "Out of gas?" or "Need some help?"

General rules are good but they are more useful when legal disputes are needed. On waters, always play defensive to avoid collisions, create harmony with other boaters, and always be ready to give others help.

Guide to Speed Boat Financing

Owning a speed boat was once limited to those who can pay cash. And since this kind of watercraft can be very expensive and very few lending companies offer boat financing terms, only few can really afford it. But as lenders see that most buyers are good clients for loans, they added boat loans with their existing real estate and auto loans. Some even specialize on boat loans alone, dedicating their staff and funding for this purpose. Finding a financing service becomes easy.

Check with your bank first if they offer boat loans. If they do, inquire about the rates and the loan term. If they don't, call other banks or check the websites of different local, regional and national banks. Banks are always good lenders as they have stable funding. Loan approval is also fast as long as you have a good credit standing.

You can also check financial services companies which are often connected to local, regional and national lenders. Their advertisements can be found on different magazines, publications and websites dedicated to boating.

If you are a member of a union, check if it offers boat loans. Credit unions offer the most attractive rates among the three. Members can easily get approved so contact them and ask for a competitive loan.

Different lenders use unique terms for the types of loans they offer but generally, they are just similar to real estate loans.

Fixed term simple interest loan or fixed rate loan is the simplest, most common and generally considered as most favorable loan as it maintains the same monthly payment throughout the entire loan term. The good thing about this is that, you can budget your finances and allocate a precise amount of money for the loan because you know how much you will pay month in and month out.

Variable rate loan bases your monthly payment on different interest rate indexes. Variable rate loan is often offered as a fixed rate loan (with low introductory rate) for a definite period of time before it bases the rate in different variables. While you cannot predict your monthly payment, you can benefit from this kind of loan if the rates suddenly become lower in the future. But since it is more complicated, you have to understand first how this works in order to assess if it really is for you. Ask your lender everything about variable rate loan before taking it.

Balloon payment loan lets the borrowers to pay the balance of the loan at a specific time. It is sometimes a preferred type of loan to borrowers who know that they will own the boat for a certain period of time.

Regardless of which lender you choose, you are guaranteed to pay low down payment – as low as 10% to 20% of the total amount of the boat (the rate of down payment is based on the age, price and type of the boat). Some lenders even have zero-down offerings on new boats. Since the loan goes for several years, payment is easier. And if you are offered with longer financing terms, monthly payments are further reduced.

Finally, by applying for financing, you can get larger, newer, more expensive, more powerful and better boat than what you have wished for.

Getting Your Speed Boat Ready for the Hurricane Season

It is mid-May. Less than a month to go before the hurricane season begins. Is your speed boat ready to weather the storm?

Before the hurricane season begins, buy items that will help you prep your speed boat efficiently like duct tapes, ropes, trash bags and rug.

Prepare your trailer. Check the tires and tire pressure and make sure that it is working and rolling properly. In case your boat needs to be removed from the water, you don't have to scramble and fix your trailer when the wind begins to strengthen.

Create a checklist of things to do in case you need to secure your boat or take if out of the water. Also, list down the items that must be removed from the boat in the event of a hurricane.

When a hurricane warning is issued, usually 36 to 48 hours before landfall, the best thing to do is to remove your boat from the water. Secure your boat to the trailer and move it to your garage or as far inland as possible away from the direction of the hurricane.

When moving is not possible, remove the boat from the water, put it on top of the trailer and anchor it good into the ground. A good way to secure your trailer into the ground is using steel rebar. Some may suggest tying your trailer to the tree but with hurricane winds that can topple even the mightiest tree down, it might not be a good idea. Anchor the boat away from power lines, trees and old structures that might fall on it. Place blocks between the axle and frame of the trailer wheels and remove the air from its tires.

Use heavy strap to secure the boat to the trailer. It is also to add weight to the boat. Place fresh water on the areas possible. Cover your boat using thick canvas to prevent damages from flying branches and other debris that may hit your boat.

If removing the boat from water is not your option, secure your boat by tying it high on pilings to give way for the rising water. Run extra line and use double tie on every knot. Failure to do this can severely damage your boat especially if the water level rises more than your rope's allowable length. Face the bow of your boat on the direction where the wind is coming from so that it can better ride the waves. Cut boat the fuel lines and the batteries to avoid oil spill. Place some rubber moldings around the boat to prevent scratches, dents, and holes.

Photograph the interior and exterior of your boat before the hurricane. Remove everything from loose objects to cushions and fabrics. Refer to the list you have created prior to start of the hurricane season.

Openings must be secured to prevent wind-driven rain from sipping through. Instrument panel must be covered as well with plastic and duct tape.

After the hurricane, assess the damage of your boat. Do not move anything. Take some pictures first and contact your insurance company to file a claim.

Leaking hull must be weathered immediately. Clean your boat right away to prevent rotting and avoid mold and mildew build up. In case your boat sank, do not contact a salvage company without the approval of your insurance claim.

Buying Speed Boat Insurance

Buying auto and home insurance are straightforward. Buying speed boat insurance is a bit complicated since types greatly vary from seller to seller. The key when shopping is to get informed. Here are the things that will help make an educated decision:

Ask around
No one can actually tell if an insurance company lives up to the expectations until something goes wrong. Ask people and friends who have applied for claim and know how it went. A good indication of a dedicated insurance company is quick action during claim and giving the policyholders what they really deserve.

You can also check state insurance regulatory agencies and some websites that offer a list of insurance companies and their ratings.

Types of insurance
Boat insurance can be bought as an additional coverage on your homeowner's insurance but consider buying it as separated policy. While there is nothing wrong with adding it to your homeowner's insurance, the coverage is quite limited. A separate policy on the other hand allows you to purchase different types of coverage that are very handy when need arise. A separate policy must be the preferred choice no matter how much and how small your boat is.

Actual cash value vs. agreed value
Actual cash value policy costs lesser upfront and only pays for the market value of the boat at the time of loss. In other words, no matter how much is the original cost of your boat, you will only get the amount equal to the boat's depreciated value.

Agreed value policy costs more upfront but it pays the amount, which you and the insurer agreed upon, regardless of the actual cash value of the boat at the time of loss.

Another policy you should take note of is the total loss replacement which replaces your boat with the newest unit of the same make and model if declared lost regardless of who's at fault. The total loss replacement policy is available for new boats up to one year old.

Liability
Comprehensive boat insurance includes liability section that serves different importance to boat owners. Such include clean up in case of oil spill caused by the policyholder's boat and removal or disposal of the wreck. Additionally, your liability coverage may extend to other boats in case you decide to borrow somebody's boat. This coverage is often referred to as non-owned boat liability coverage.

Types of Coverage

Towing and assistance coverage reimburses the amount spent when you take emergency assistance for your boat if you and your boat are not in immediate danger. Such coverage may include delivery of parts, fuel or oil; towing to a location where the boat can be repaired; and emergency labor. Usually, deductibles are charged when availing a claim for any of these services, so check with the insurance company.

Personal property coverage pays for personal items such as sports and fishing equipment, personal effects and clothing that are aboard your boat. Insurers' exclusions vary differently so compare different companies.

Medical payment coverage pays the cost of hospital, ambulance, first aid and other cost as a result of injury while onboard the boat.

Do your research so that when you begin calling different sellers, you are properly informed and at least have some basic information about the insurance you need. Try not to worry about the cost of the insurance. What's important is that you, your boat and your family are totally insured. Take the best coverage you can afford.

Buying a Speed Boat

Speed boats are generally classified according to size, the accommodations, designs and the materials from which they are made. There are a variety of boats out there for the choosing. It is often that one dealer alone could have up to 40 models of speed boats for different types of purposes.

Typically, speed boats are small motorized boats that are designed for speed and agility. This is why a speed boat original function is for pulling water skiers, races and other water competitions. Because of its speed and quickness, it became ideal for use in patrolling beach lanes and is even proving its value as attack military vessels.

While the term speed boat often sparks the mind with the small agile and sleek looking crafts, there are different types of speed boats. An inflatable boat with a fast and strong motor attached to it is termed also as a speed boat though its main use is reconnaissance, beach landings and patrolling.

Power plants
Speed boats are equipped with power plants that are classified according to how the motor is installed. If the motor is removable, it is called an outboard motor but if the engine is installed in the boat it is called a power plant.

• Inboard/outboard are hybrid power plants. This power plant has its gear reduction and propeller outside the speedboat while the main engine is installed within the boat.

• Outboard motors are usually used in smaller crafts where the internal combustion engine, transmission and propeller are installed at the rear of the boat.

• Inboard engines have everything inside the boat except for the propeller and the shaft that connects it to the engine. Typically there are two types of purely inboard motors, the direct drive and the v-drive. The v-drive engine is mounted at the back of the boat where the shaft runs towards the boats front making a V shape at the rear. The direct drive power plant is mounted in the middle of the boat with the propeller sticking towards the back of the boat for the propeller.

As speed boats are basically built for recreational use, most speed boats are made of fiberglass bottoms. While the original concept of speed boating was for sports and fun, the choices of speed boats gradually increased in variety and it is now common to find 40 different models to choose from in a many speed boat dealers. While many are still in the smaller sized category from 15 feet to thirty feet, specialized fishing boats and the luxury speed boats are also in popular demand.

Depending really on how the owner of a speed boat envisions its use, these boats could be made according to a buyers' specification and could offer him a lot of configurations. Luxury speed boats for example are well made and well spec-ed with all the appointments that an owner would like to have. Some speed boats are designed for sport and multi purpose fishing that could be sailed both on saltwater and fresh water with anglers on board, bedroom compartments, plumbing, a galley and are designed to stay in the water for days.

Owning a speed boat is very personal to most buyers that the design, color themes, graphics etc. could be configured to fit the owners requirements.

Boat Show: To Buy or Not to Buy?

Many bargain hunters flock to boat shows for one reason: to get the best deal. Experts also agree that the best place to buy speed boat, or any type of boat for that matter, is at boat shows.

We can categorize boat shows into two: on-season boat show and off-season boat show. Each varies widely and may play a big factor on deciding to buy or not.

On-season boat shows are those held during summer, when the demand for new boats is high. Here you can see a range of showcase boats, state of the art boat technology and latest designs.

Off-season boat shows are those held during winter or the periods from January to March. This is commonly referred to as winter boat show because on colder weather states, the show is held during winter months. Since there is no winter in the Gulf Coast, California and the beaches of Florida, boat shows that happen during these months are called off-season boat shows. Most boats here are the previous year's models. Shows are held to sell off existing models to give way to new models on the coming boat season.

The deals from these shows vary as well. At on-season shows, prices may be a little higher and dealers are less likely to bring down their prices. It can be attributed to the demand. Another reason is that dealers pay a premium price to place their boats on the show, not to mention the transportation cost of moving their displays from their dealership to the show area and back. Dealers have to recoup these expenses by passing them to their costumers. Off-season shows are no different. But since dealers aim to sell their existing models before the new boats arrive, they are more likely to bring down their prices or add cash discount and freebies.

Thus, it is important that when you buy a boat, you know when the right time to buy. If you are planning to buy the latest model, then shows during summer may help you get what you are looking for. If you are looking for bargain, then winter or off-season boat shows are the places to go.

One important thing to consider is that not because you go to an off-season boat show, it doesn't already mean that you will get the best deal. Many boats may not be as affordable as you think they are. So, to give you better chances of landing on a better, if not the best deal, use boat shows to your advantage. Learn as much information as you can, build relationship with dealers and visit their dealerships to make a deal. Make sure that you do your research first so that when you are on the site, you are properly armed with the right information. Go do different boat shows and learn as much information as you can.

Speed boat is a real financial investment so unless you can afford to make a mistake and buy another unit if you are not satisfied with you previous purchase, you have to make sure that you get it right the first time. As a rule of thumb, buy only if you have done thorough research, have identified what you want and have a financial standing to either pay cash or apply for loans.

Before Buying Luxury Speed Boats

If people have their way majority will opt for a luxury speed boat.

These are the boats that many can only dream of. Luxury boats are an excellent way to conduct occasions, leisure cruises, quiet fun filled moments, romantic events and a leisurely way of sailing the water in complete sophistication. These are the boats that are a clear statement that the person owning it has already arrived to the world.

Luxury speed boats like many sea going crafts could be built from the comfortable to the most luxurious. Builders of these boats employ a team not just of engineers but interior designers as well to provide (at the specification of the owner) the epitome of comfort and luxury in sea going vessels.

The only standard in a luxury speed boat is the cabin, a hull and a wheelhouse. Outside of the basics appointments could vary widely. The appointments and amenities will only have one goal in design – to provide that which is best. And so while luxury speed boats differ from one to another, they are similar in purpose.

Time Sharing and Renting

As with any product, comfort and quality will always command a price. And while many people want to have a luxury speed boat, not everyone could buy it. However there are several ways to owning a boat. One way to do it is through time share. Time sharing is not only an excellent way to start having a luxury boat; it is also a great way to familiarize the self with one before the person eventually decides to buy his own. As mentioned, luxury speed boats design vary widely and since luxury speed boats requires great investment and an equally good amount of time and money to maintain, time sharing or even renting one is a good start.

Dealership

When a person have finally decided the kind of speed boat he wants, boat dealership people will just be too happy to be of assistance. People from boat dealerships will prove to be another source of help and a wealth of information regarding boats, boat designs, trends and prices. Before settling for one though, remember that the primary motivation of sales people is not to offer you what you want if they do not have it but to make a sale.

Boat Manufacturers

Try also the boat manufacturers. There are a great many boat manufacturers both on site and on line which will be a great source of assistance and information. Expect brochures and pamphlets to be sent to you. Again, boats are a personal issue. This is truer with boat builders. Expect then that builders will be biased towards their work. If the claims are examined closer without the sales pitch, you will find that there is merit to their claims; your option has just grown wider.

Ask the Experts

Luxury boat owners are experts. If they have been with their boats for a time, they will be the best people in the know regarding the satisfaction level that they have with the current boat that they own or the upgrades that they would want in the future. Even when they are tying to sell the boat to you, a sailor's personal affinity and respect for his boat will always show.
